Having been entirely absorbed in finishing my manuscript for Red Wheel/ Weiser Books, I have written next to nothing else in the past month. My friend/student, Amy has been writing the daily/weekly forecasts, providing me with the time and focus to get the manuscript done in time for the deadline.
Speaking of deadlines, I have discovered that I really like working under a deadline. Knowing there is an end date inspires me to get up at 4:30 or 5 a.m. while the rest of the world is sleeping. I like the spaciousness the silence of that hour offers. It feels as though my mind can expand into the darkness and the space around me. I am happy, as well, to have the colder season upon us offering more time for morning darkness. Once the sun comes up, lighting up my room, my mind feels the need to return to the world of tasks, expectations, and responsibilities.
Now it is time to once again to write the forecast blog. I intend for there to be changes going forward.
I have gained a great deal in writing daily and weekly forecasts. Watching the movement of the planets day-to-day is a profound experience of learning. Making videos about the New and Full Moon, the Sun ingresses, and many other dances of the planets has been a lot of fun as well as having deepened not only my understanding of astrology but also my friendship with my former student and colleague, Jennie Date. Together we make videos and post them on YouTube under the name AstroPath – Astrology with Laurie and Jennie. Jennie and I have a great rapport, come follow if you are interested.
However, I want to do more with the blog and the daily social media posts.
In today’s world, in order to be relevant and gain recognition astrologers design content to reach a broad audience, emphasizing general information about prevalent cosmic patterns that impact everyone. The world of planetary cycles, eclipses, ingresses, etc., is fascinating and important. This is Mundane astrology and this is where we explore how the planets impact countries, cultures, individuals, and the populace. As Mundane astrology has proliferated online, it is what people look for and find on social media.
However, my main interest is the individual birth chart. I believe that if we truly and deeply understand the planetary patterns within our individual birth chart, we are transformed by that knowledge. To me, this is nothing less than soul alchemy.
When we work with a Natal chart, we are contemplating the one moment the infant takes its first breath. This one moment is a clear statement of reflection for the entire life. Although understanding a natal chart is a whole different ball of wax from understanding the cosmic cycles, they are related, and understanding their connection is important.
As I begin writing the blog (weekly forecast) once again I am going to ask that you have your natal chart handy. Please use the Whole Sign House System. Watch where the transiting planets are moving in your own birth chart. For instance, if I’m talking about the Moon being in Leo on a particular day, find the house that holds Leo in your chart. Understand that is the area of your life where you will feel the playful emotional energy of the Leo Moon. Contemplate these things deeply. If your Moon is in Leo, or you have thoughts or ideas about Leo, speak up! I want to hear from you! Following the daily posts you will find a list of the houses and some of their main significations.
When there is a transiting aspect occurring between two planets on a particular day, look at your chart. Learn to see where it happens in your own chart. Perhaps you have that same aspect in your natal chart! Please share these things, this is how we learn. I want to hear about it.
This morning before I awoke (2:49 AM EDT – adjust for your time zone), the Sun entered Libra. In the Northern Hemisphere, this is the Autumn Equinox, in the Southern Hemisphere this is the Spring Equinox. Look at where Libra is in your chart, this is an area of focus for the coming weeks (until the Sun enters Scorpio on October 23).

The week begins with the Moon in Aquarius, the sign that suggests intellectual innovation and open-mindedness. Whatever house holds Aquarius in your natal chart will be noticeably activated today. This is an area where you feel cool casual detachment.
When the Moon is in this independent sign we can all tap into the energy of the rebel, eccentric, or visionary. When we have this in our natal chart we live with this as our natural emotional state. Think about your personal horoscope. Is your Moon in Aquarius? Do you have friends or family members with this placement?
At 8:09 AM EDT, Mercury in Virgo forms a trine aspect to Jupiter in Taurus. This is generally considered a harmonious aspect that positively influences communication, learning, and all intellectual efforts. Anticipate expansive thinking and open communication. Again, look at your natal chart. Do you have an aspect between your natal Mercury and your natal Jupiter? How do issues of thinking and communication (Mercury) meet with issues of belief and expansion (Jupiter)?

The Moon continues through Pisces today forming a conjunction with Neptune at 1:53 PM EDT. This accentuates the drifty dreaminess of the Pisces Moon. Jupiter is the ruler and Neptune is the co-ruler of Pisces. Right now Jupiter, Neptune, and the Moon are all in Pisces. Whatever house holds Pisces in your chart is a place that feels extra good today. Your imagination drifts into mystical visions of great beauty. Don’t make hard decisions or declarative statements on a day like this. You are unlikely to be seeing a realistic picture as you are busy looking at the luminous clouds. Allow yourself to dream and create something beautiful from your imagination.
Remember to have your natal chart handy. We have been thinking about the Pisces Moon for several days now. Today, take a look and see if your natal Moon is conjunct Neptune in your natal chart. If so, what is your experience of this placement? Regardless of what sign your Moon is in, if it is conjunct Neptune you have a dreamy intangibly sensitive emotional nature.
