Rainy Days and Bright Moments of Fun

The hot, humid, and constantly rainy days have persisted throughout the week. In the midst of that challenge, my meetings with clients, students, and cohorts have offered bright spots of joy despite the weather.
Although I worked while others partied on July 4th, I did treat myself to a night on the harbor with a wild brass band concert in the park. The Undertow Brass Band from North Carolina delivered an energetic performance that swept me away and again confirmed the rightness of living where I do. It was a powerful feeling to be surrounded by such a festive atmosphere and infectious rhythms. Having played trumpet as a child and teenager, I am always uplifted by the sound of horns!
The week has been a mix of challenging weather and rewarding experiences. I suppose that is the same with every week. We take the positive and the more challenging in stride.
