The fixed fire sign of Leo aligns with midsummer in the Northern Hemisphere, or midwinter in the Southern Hemisphere. Generally a warm, celebratory, and exuberant energy, this Leo season has a more inward focus due to Venus’ retrograde. Think back to the summer of 2015 for a reminder of some of the themes that came up in your personal life. The season features three “jolts” delivered by a square from Uranus, the great awakener, to Mercury, Venus, and the Sun. Mercury’s move into Virgo on July 28, the only planetary ingress during the season, allows for a practical pursuit to occupy your mind. The dominance of earth and water signs encourages staying grounded and finding ways to cool off as needed. The Aquarius Full Moon on August 1 invites an objective point of view. Just after Leo season completes, Mercury retrogrades in Virgo, joining Venus in turning back for an inner review.
