After some lovely warm days earlier in May this past week has been shockingly cold. Everywhere I go and everyone I talk with has had lots of understandable complaints. The sun is so bright, the leaves are so green, the birds are singing, and the flowers are growing with abandon. But, why is it so cold?!
A friend said something yesterday that changed my perspective! “Have you noticed” he asked, “how long the lilacs have lasted this year?” Indeed! I’ll take a few more cold days to extend the lovely aroma of the lilacs by my bedside and on my kitchen table!
My beautiful cat Kairos and I have watched a family of tiny chipmunks exploring the world outside our window. What a sight. There are 6 babies, timidly popping their tiny heads outside a hole right under our window. What an exciting treat for Kairos. Sometimes it feels as though the mother knows she is being watched by a dangerous creature above. How Kairos wants to get at them.
I expect to have a very exciting announcement here on the blog in the next few weeks. Stay tuned.
