Contemplation for the week:
“I’ll never know, and neither will you, of the life you don’t choose. We’ll only know that whatever that sister life was, it was important and beautiful and not ours. It was the ghost ship that didn’t carry us. There’s nothing to do but salute it from the shore.” ~ Cheryl Strayed

After the intensity of the past week, let’s look forward to less complication and more pleasure in the coming days.
The early hours of Tuesday morning bring with them a lovely Taurus Full Moon. Pay attention to the areas of your life that fill you with pleasure. This Full Moon encourages you to bring your awareness to a sense of reverence for your very full and powerful life. As you learn the importance of taking full responsibility for exactly where you find yourself, your sense of wonder and reverence will grow.
Friday evening, as the Sun trine Neptune we are allowed a full expansive view of some deeply personal dream. Bring creativity, mysticism, music, and dance to the evening!
Allow yourself to flow easily throughout this week. Do not build walls or construct roadblocks where there is no need for them.
Pay attention to pleasure, seek joy; bring joy and pleasure to those around you.

ABOUT THAT VOC* MOON
Monday, October 26, 2015:
Monday’s Moon in Aries makes a final aspect (opposition to Mercury) at 8:25 AM EDT; after that the Moon is VOC* until she enters Taurus on Tuesday morning.
Let’s have a reminder on what the VOC* Moon is and how to work with it. The Moon is said to be VOC* between the time that it makes its final major aspect to another planet and the time when she enters the next sign. During these times, you do not want to take actions that need to have a significant impact moving forward.  With the Moon in Aries, you can count on excess energy to push forward. You can get a lot accomplished. Consider what projects you want to use that energy on while also considering the VOC* Moon.
If the activity itself is what needs to get done during a VOC*, it will work fine. Let me use an example. If I am cutting wood to fill the woodpile for winter warmth, at the end of the day I have my result. This is fine activity to do during a VOC* Moon. If I am writing a proposal that will ultimately be accepted or denied, the result is not clear at the end of the day. I would save this activity for a day without a VOC* Moon. Simply ask yourself about any particular activity: will I have the result at the end of the day?
For today, your best activity will involve communication or other intellectual or mental activity because the final aspect was a connection to Mercury.
So, probably the woodpile will wait! I think I will seek interesting conversations or study instead!

TAURUS FULL MOON; EMBRACE YOUR PHYSICALITY
Tuesday, October 27, 2015:
Tuesday brings us the beautiful creative expression of the Taurus Full Moon. If you work with the Moon Cycles, think about the seeds you planted at the New Moon two weeks ago. Whatever idea you began, or seed you planted at that New Moon comes into full expression now.
When I was 18 years old, I had a job as a Nurses Aid in a nursing home (perhaps they are now called retirement homes). I got a true education at that time of how people, without inhibitions (due to medications or lowered capacities), behave at the Full Moon. No one wanted to work the shifts at the Full Moon as our clients behavior would become quite bizarre and relatively uncontrollable.
The thing I learned through that experience, was that we are all a bit wild at the Full Moon. Embrace the wildly uncivilized side of your self at this time. Taurus wants you fully engaged in the sensuality and pleasure of being embodied in this life. Think of all the joys and pleasures that living in a human body offer.
Bring pleasure to your senses.
Think about all your five senses: taste, touch, smell, sight, and hearing. Engage all of these senses at this Full Moon. A delightfully prepared meal with the backdrop of beautiful music and flowers on the table, shared with a lover would lay out the perfect scenario. If your life does not fit this perfect scenario, make the tweaks you need to! Go ahead and enjoy a delightfully prepared meal, beautiful music, a visit to the massage therapist, and time spent honoring your connection to your body.
Enjoy and revel in your physicality. Engage gratitude with eyes open and body fully alive.
“Stop trying to ‘fix’ yourself; you’re not broken! You are perfectly imperfect and powerful beyond measure.” ~ Steve Maraboli

A PRACTICE OF KINDNESS
Wednesday, October 28, 2015:
If you fully enjoyed the Full Moon on Tuesday, you may wake up Wednesday morning feeling the effects of overindulgence. The theme of the Taurus Full Moon, slow reverence for pleasure, holds over into Wednesday morning.
At 11:20 AM EDT, the Taurus Moon makes a trine aspect to Mars, kicking us into action. The rest of the afternoon and evening the Moon is VOC*. The trine to Mars will give us the strength and confidence required as we steadfastly accomplish what needs to get done.
This is a great day for a simple ‘practice of kindness’. Make it a point to show an unusual level of consideration and kindness to people you encounter who have no expectations of you. A truly thoughtful comment delivered with a kind smile to the cashier at the grocery store can have a profound impact on their life even as it spreads to those they encounter.
Keep steady, accomplish what is required, offer kindness, and enjoy a calm quiet evening.
“Life shrinks and expands in proportion to one’s courage.” ~Anais Nin

SEEK CURIOSITY
Thursday, October 29, 2015:
You may realize that you haven’t made plans for the weekend, and it is Thursday already! Last minute plans are fine! Get on it! Plan a gathering of friends for Friday evening. Anticipate a gathering that will stretch your thinking, peak your curiosity, fully engaged your imagination, and your search for deep meaning.
Consider all the thoughts and ideas that are presented throughout the day. Follow the directions that spur your intellectual curiosity. This is a great day to research ideas that have been percolating in your mind. Your curiosity will inform you of the questions to ask; the answers to the questions will lead you in the direction of new discovery.
Nothing less than full commitment to your life is required.

THE COURAGE TO EXPRESS
Friday, October 30, 2015:
There is a great deal that wants to be expressed through you at this time. Consider communication as a game. Play it out. Pay attention to what works and what does not work.
Think back to late February 2015. Can you remember the dream that began at that time? Were you aware that there was more than a little delusion involved in your thinking and scheming your way towards that dream? Did you follow that path of delusion? Did your well-developed boundaries hold you steady enough to avoid a dangerous ride?
Regardless of which way you played your cards at that time, you have learned a great deal and are now able to bring wisdom to others who need your teaching on the subject.
Take the time to get clear about what you have learned regarding that dream and how you have managed yourself and your situation over the course of these eight months. You have developed it to tell her wisdom to this process is necessary in the world. Find a way to share your wisdom.
“Try a thing you haven’t done three times. Once, to get over the fear of doing it, twice, to learn how to do it, and a third time, to figure out whether you like it or not.” ~ Virgil Garnett Thomson

A FLOW OF SENSITIVITY
Saturday, October 31, 2015:
On Saturday, the Moon enters Cancer. Throughout the day, the Cancer Moon forms a grand trine with Neptune and the Sun. This water Grand Trine supports emotional connection, family gatherings, and the potential of healing deep wounds.
This could be a difficult day to get much accomplished due to the immense flow of sensitivity and moodiness. Get clear early in the day about how you want to manage this. Do you want to immerse yourself in emotion and even nostalgia?
If so, watch a romantic movie or look at old photo albums. If not, determine to stay clear of emotional quicksand and keep yourself moving.
I don’t believe that either way is right or wrong; simply make a decision and stick with it.
“Getting over a painful experience is much like crossing monkey bars. You have to let go at some point in order to move forward.” ~ C.S. Lewis

DEVELOP COMPASSION
Sunday, November 1, 2015:
If you managed to stay out of the emotional quicksand of Saturday, you will likely continue with significant accomplishments or deep connections on Sunday. However, if you found yourself swimming in the nostalgic deep space of emotional quicksand, you may continue to struggle mightily to simply pull yourself out of that space.
The Cancer Moon forms tense challenging aspects to both Pluto and Uranus. Your intensely powerful inner life needs space for home and emotional connection.
Your feeling life is full to overflowing. Even as these deep emotional connections call to you, there is also the internal expectation and demand for detachment, you feel an inner reach for independence and autonomy. You may feel your inner rebel wanting to take space for private contemplation.
Yes, these are contradictory emotions and feelings on a deeply emotional day. Make space for what is required in each moment, be patient and kind to yourself as you balance this challenge.
Understand that we all play along similar lines; develop compassion for the challenge that others encounter that so clearly mirror your own. Work together; find ways to move forward while accepting exactly where you are at this moment in time.
“The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth.”~ Niels Bohr

This week: The VOC* Moon!
VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!
If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!
Monday, October 26, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Aries) following an opposition to Mercury at 8:25 AM EDT until she enters Taurus on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at 2:08 AM EDT.
Wednesday, October 28, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Taurus) following a trine to Mars at 11:20 AM EDT until she enters Gemini on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at 2:24 AM EDT.
Friday, October 30, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Gemini) following a trine to Mercury at 10:52 PM EDT until she enters Cancer on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 5:10 AM EDT.
__________________________________________________________
* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
