Astrolore’s weekly astrology weather: April 28, 2014 through May 4, 2014

Are you still feeling overwhelmed by the intensification, drama, compulsions, or power struggles of the past few weeks? The Cardinal Grand Cross is now over. If you have been doing the work necessary in your own life, you have probably released a lot of energy that has been holding you in place. Do you feel the ground, and your being, shifting into new spaces?

The week begins with the Sun and Mercury in Taurus; with the Moon joining them on Monday morning. This suggests a deep need to develop consistency and solid ground beneath our feet. We long for stabilization and steady routines following the past few wild weeks.

However, the Solar Eclipse (and the Taurus New Moon) on Tuesday continues the momentum of change, adding a new twist to the already changing scenery.

Whatever the change these past few weeks has been insisting upon, it is time to allow that deep level of shifting to be accomplished in order to find the predictable comfort that Taurus seeks.

Two weeks ago the Libra Full Moon was also a Lunar Eclipse. Eclipses are always two weeks apart, one at the Full Moon one at the New Moon. The point between these two events is very often a time when the most dramatic shifts occur.

The Moon begins the week VOC* in Aries, travels through Taurus, Gemini, and ends the week in Cancer. These are the most personal signs. Our hearts connect with our own personal needs. We want what we want; this is a week to consider your own needs and take care of yourself first. We are at the center of our own lives this week.

As Mars and Jupiter pull away from their place in the Cardinal Grand Cross we are ready to move into a deeper connection with the earth and out reverence with her.

Mercury is in high activity mode! This is a week of functioning from logic and thought. We may have occasion to speak up about things we have been previously silent about. We may have the opportunity to expand our thinking or our ability to express the more innovative contents of our minds! We have a great deal on our minds!

On Friday Venus will end her time of happily drifting through the deep silent waters of Pisces and enter into the firey, impulsive, independent space of Aries. Over the coming weeks our values become very clear and we may be called upon to assert our beliefs!

Enjoy this week. It is like a holiday in a park after the past few!

Monday, April 28, 2014:

The week begins with the Moon VOC *in Aries. This has been an very long VOC* period, which began early Sunday morning. The Moon enters Taurus, preparing for Tuesday’s New Moon, at 10:24 AM EDT.  This is a day to practice patience and a deep steadfast reverence for all of life. Consider the importance of slowing down, resisting drama, seeking comfort and deliberate consistency.  With the New Moon tomorrow, we are in the Dark of the Moon. It is important to take the time to go inward and consider what seeds you want to be planting in your life over the next 24 hours. Don’t stop with just the consideration, take the time to get your aspirations down on paper. Formalize your projections for the month. Make a plan.

Tuesday, April 29, 2014:

Tuesday we have a Solar Eclipse along with our Taurus New Moon (9degrees Taurus). The New Moon brings us to a new monthly Lunar Cycle. This is the time that we plant the seeds of what we want to grow over the coming month. Do you know where 9degrees Taurus lands in your horoscope? What do you project for the upcoming month? Where do you want to build and maintain stability, strength, dependability, and reverence?

However, The Solar Eclipse (and the Taurus New Moon) on Tuesday brings one more push to the momentum of change, adding an unexpected twist to the already changing scenery. Eclipses can act as a bit of a wild card. Whatever these past few weeks has been pushing us toward, it is time to allow the change its full expression, in order to reach the predictable comfort that Taurus seeks.

At 1:29 PM EDT Mercury Trine Pluto. Consider back to December 31, 2013. At that time Mercury and Pluto began a new cycle in their relationship. Something very powerful was on your mind, perhaps an important communication or project was in its beginning stage. Now it is possible to clearly see an important element that is ready to push forward into that project or relationship. You can successfully push forward on that situation now.

Do not underestimate the importance of what ever is on your mind regarding this situation. What are you trying to create? Consider carefully, understand the power of your mind, and push forward.

Wednesday, April 30, 2014:

Wednesday begins with the Moon still in Taurus, continuing our emotional need for rest, stabilization, and strength building.

In the morning before we awake Mercury Sextiles Jupiter, suggesting another day of powerful and positive communications and/or work with the mind.  This is an aspect of opportunity and potential. Big and important information may be revealed or exposed.

Our minds and our communications are ready to open and express more belief, empowerment, wisdom and generosity that we ever knew we had access to!  All that we have experienced over these past weeks has enlarged the capacity of our minds!

At 11:54 AM EDT the Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to Venus. The Moon then enters chatty, active Gemini at 4:56 PM EDT.  The afternoon should certainly be a busy one; either in actual activity or within the mind.

There are so many people to talk to, articles and books to read, so much information to absorb and understand.

Your expectations may be high. Be easy on yourself and others.

Thursday, May 1, 2014:

Thursday begins with the Moon in Gemini making contact with Neptune. It may be difficult to get up and out of bed this morning. We may feel sleepy and called back to our dreams and fantasies. However, once we get ourselves moving it will likely be a lively day with friends, new acquaintances, and activities of all sorts.  As the Moon makes positive aspects to both Mars and Uranus it may be difficult to sit still as every cell within us is on alert with heightened perception. Our curiosity level may be restless and quick. Make sure you have some physical activity on your agenda to keep from tumbling into frustration and simple hyped up energy. Go to a lecture, take a class, find others to engage with this evening!

Friday, May 2, 2014:

Friday the Moon is in Gemini VOC* all day! The final aspect was a Sextile to Uranus at 7:32 on Thursday. This is another very long VOC* Moon. After the empowerment and expansion of thinking and planning earlier this week, we come to a bit more reality based information and communication this evening.  At 8:55 PM EDT, Mercury Opposes Saturn. Our conversations, communications, and thinking head to more serious matters. Consider what began at the conjunction between Mercury and Saturn (October/November 2013). What serious issue at hand at that time; were you feeling stuck or restricted in some endeavor?  Now you have a full view of where you thinking at that time has brought you.  If you are not where you want to be on this issue /project, now is the time to make a serious and well considered change in direction.

At 9:20 PM EDT Venus leaves Pisces behind and enters Aries. Venus has been in Pisces since April 5, 2014.Venus loves the soft, sensitive, dreamy, and romantic waters of Pisces. Now as she enters Aries she leaves her flowing scarfs and robes behind and dons her armour and weapons of war.  Our romantic nature may take a very different turn as Venus in Aries does not take ‘no’ for an answer; she is determined and passionate. Venus will remain in Aries until May 28th. Prepare to assertively go after what you want regarding love, resources, or finances!

Saturday, May 3, 2014:

Saturday morning, long before we awake, at 2:13 AM EDT, the Moon enters Cancer. If you have family or loved ones nearby, make plans for a project that will engage everyone. Cooking together is always a good way to spend time with loved ones when the Moon is in Cancer. You could also get out the photo albums and reminisce about those who are far away or no longer with us. This is a day of soft emotional connections to loved ones, home, and the past.

At 8:36 PM EDT the Taurus Sun Trine Pluto bringing power dynamics to the table. This should be able to be managed with just a bit of attention. Each person in your dynamic this weekend is feeling driven to personal empowerment. They each seek individual, vital significance. If you can keep your eyes open and your ego from getting in the way, it can be amazing to see the power expressed in each individual.

Sit off to the sidelines and watch as you empower everyone you encounter with love and kindness.

Sunday, May 4, 2014:

Sunday offers another day with the Moon in Cancer. However, this will be a bit more challenging as the Cancer Moon connects with the ongoing Square between Pluto and Uranus. We may all feel a bit cranky, moody, or defensive early in the day. Don’t take anything personally, particularly in the morning. Later in the day the energies lighten up and by evening all should settle into a simple and gentle time of preparation for the week ahead.

* In these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: April 21, 2014 through April 27, 2014

Perhaps you thought that after all the intensity of last week we would get a break this week!

Don’t hold your breath. The story is not over.

We still have this week and much of next week to get through before we can substantially take a break.

The Cardinal Grand Cross, consisting of Uranus (Aries), Pluto (Capricorn), Jupiter (Cancer), and Mars (Libra) is still very much in high focus throughout the week!

Last week Mercury traveled through this land of intensity and unimaginable change! We have been brought into deep shifts and unsettling changes within our minds, we are learning how to think in a new way.

As our thought processes change so do our circumstances.

This week begins with the fifth of seven exact ‘hits’ of the Square between Uranus and Pluto. Two more to go! The first was in the Summer of 2012, and the final exact ‘hit’ will in March 2015. Only a year to go and we can get on with rebuilding the New World we find ourselves in!

With the Moon at Her Third-Quarter Phase in Aquarius, Mars gets into the full action of the Grand Cross as he first Squares Jupiter on Tuesday, then Opposes Uranus and Squares Pluto on Wednesday!

Another week of surprises, innovations, and unusual depth of intensification in our world, both internally and externally!

The key priorities for the week, once again:

  1. Awareness
  2. Self care
  3. Kindness

The week starts with the Moon in Capricorn; she passes through Aquarius and Pisces, and ends the week in Aries. This begins the week with an emotional focus outside of our selves. Saturday morning as the Moon enters Aries our emotional focus turns inward and becomes more centered on the self.

Monday, April 21, 2014:

Monday begins the week with incredible intensity. Energy has been building strongly!  With the Moon in Capricorn there is a serious edge to all that we encounter.

At 3:20 PM EDT Uranus and Pluto make their fifth of seven exact ‘hits’ of the First-Quarter Square between them. There has been so much talk about this configuration over the past few years. Because of how slowly these planets move and how long the cycle lasts, this is a very deep and long-lasting influence. The first exact ‘hit’ came in June 2012 and the final ‘hit’ comes in March of 2015. The intensity of the current impact (April 21) is due in large part to the fact that Mars and Jupiter are standing at 13degrees of Libra and Cancer forming a Full Cardinal Grand Cross with Uranus and Pluto.

Consider the Square Aspect itself as energies pulling at cross-purposes to each other. Think of Uranus as the planet of revolution, unexpected change, innovation, and intensification. Uranus opens our eyes to a future we had not previously considered! Pluto, on the other hand, is the planet of transformation, destruction, and empowerment. Pluto destroys what is in its path in order to make the space for new and powerful change. Consider this. Make no mistake the power of this day, this week, these times we are living in.

Capricorn moon is VOC* following a Square to Mercury at 7:21 PM. If you are emotionally involved in attempting to bring someone to your way of thinking on a particular matter; just let it go!

Tuesday, April 22, 2014:

Shortly after midnight on Monday night the Moon will enter Aquarius and before we awaken we will have reached the Third Quarter phase of the Moon. The Third Quarter Moon brings us to a moment where we are able to look at what has happened in the past week and choose to step aside and take a different path than the one we thought we would be on last week at this time.

Mars is now actively engaged in the Grand Cross making his first Aspect (a Square to Jupiter) at 3:27 PM EDT. Aggravation, anger or a powerful need to take action may feel overwhelming at this point in time. Pay attention to any planets or sensitive points you have at approximately 13° of Cardinal Signs (Aries, cancer, Libra, and Capricorn). Keep breathing. Be patient with yourself and others. Remember that we are in this together and we can come out the other side with a new vision and way of experiencing and viewing the world!

Wednesday, April 23, 2014:

On Wednesday Mars Opposes Uranus and Squares Pluto, be aware of this time. You may experience intense aggravation, fear, excitement, or perhaps an electrifying and overwhelming need to take action. Keep an eye on your own anxiety, levels of frustration, assertiveness, and anger. Do not get behind the wheel of a car, use power tools, or sharp utensils without checking your emotional state. Pay attention.

Early this morning Mercury leaves Aries behind and enters Taurus; that is the gift of this day.

With Mars so worked up around the Cardinal Grand Cross the last thing in the world we need is Mars ruling Mercury (Mercury in Aries)! Mercury entering Taurus will settle our minds a bit and for now every little bit is tremendously helpful.

I look forward to future days when there’s very little to write about! Remember those days of sitting in the garden and reading a book without concern? Those days are not today.

The Aquarius Moon makes her final aspect, a Square to Saturn at 2:11 PM EDT. The Moon is VOC for the rest of the day.

Thursday, April 24, 2014:

Moon enters Pisces while we sleep on Thursday morning and makes lovely aspects throughout the day. If you can find a moment in the middle of this wild week to rest, dream, and contemplate the softer side of life; this is the day. From here on out the Cardinal Grand Cross will begin to lighten as Mars and Jupiter move along their way! That does not mean an end to the intensification. Uranus and Pluto will continue to work away at each other!

But it does mean we have reached the peak and now we can begin to make sense out of where we find ourselves. And where do you find yourself? Are you clear on where these weeks have brought you? What has changed internally and externally in your life? We are on a different path. Do not try to go back; the old way of life is no longer viable.

Friday, April 25, 2014:

The Moon is in Pisces all day on Friday bringing us a softly gentle emotional day. We begin with a Trine between Venus and Saturn helping us to stabilize the intensification of what has been swirling around through our lives over these past weeks. Venus Trine Saturn offers a stable quiet beauty. Focus on stabilizing your relationships, consider, strengthen, and clarify your internal values, your finances, and your love relationships. By the end of the day the Sun and Mercury conjunct a 5° Taurus; we seek stability as we ache for peace, graciousness, and solid ground. The Moon’s last Aspect while in Pisces is a Conjunction to Venus at 4:03 PM EDT. Following this the Moon is happily VOC until she enters Aries early tomorrow morning. We are offered the potential of a soft evening of harmony and pleasure. Rest with music, poetry, a glass of wine; the ocean or another body of water may call. Allow love to soften the edges of your heart.

Saturday, April 26, 2014:

The Moon enters Aries early Saturday morning, making no major aspects throughout the day. Ah. What can we expect from such a day? Mercury Sextiles  Neptune early this afternoon. This is a day made for declarations of love and beauty; writing poetry or making music. Our conversations or our thinking are filled with idealism, hope for the future, possibly delusion or soft imagination. Get out of town. Go on an adventure. Let go.

Sunday, April 27, 2014:

Sunday the Aries Moon taps all the planets in the Cardinal Grand Cross! On an emotional level we may feel edgy, irritable, and we very likely feel a powerful need to take strong action on some situation. Observe carefully what you are creating for your future. Take note of what we talked about at the beginning of this week. Remember: the three most important things at this time are: be aware of your surroundings (outside yourself and within yourself), work on increasing your level of self-care/ self-friendliness, and offer deep heartfelt kindness to others. Keep working with this. We will be ready to accept where we find ourselves before we know it!

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: April 7, 2014 through April 13, 2014

As I look at the week ahead I see that the individual days do not appear to have nearly the intensification and pressure that I think we will actually encounter.

However, we all need to be fully aware that April 2014 is not an ordinary time. By themselves these days look relatively ordinary and we will consider them in that light.

But, we would certainly be remiss to forget that behind the simplicity of daily changes of the Moon Signs and Aspects there is such intensity building that cannot be denied! We are in an unprecedented time of energetic building pressure, as we get ever closer to the focal point of the Grand Cross later this month.

We are reaching the point where the demand/excitement for transformation overrides the fear of transformation. These are powerful days. Please keep your eyes open and let kindness be your overriding focus in each and every day.

Monday, April 7, 2014:

Monday starts with the Moon in Cancer and this is the First Quarter Moon. On Sunday, March 30th was the New Moon. I hope you were paying attention to what seeds you were planting at that time.

Today you want to think about those seeds that you planted. Spend some time now to water them and make sure they are getting the Sunlight that they require to grow!

Following a smooth Trine to Saturn at 2:14 PM the sensitive Cancer Moon is VOC* until early Tuesday morning. Whatever action you need to take to encourage those seeds to grow must be done before 2:14 PM EDT.

We may notice that we feel more self protective, inward, and emotional than we expect. Our thoughts easily turn to nostalgia, thinking back to the past. Perhaps considering the past with an unrealistic sentimental overlay.

At 11:34 AM EDT Mercury (the planets of the mind and communication) leaves the soft imagination of Pisces behind and enters Aries (the Sign of courage and assertiveness). With Mars (ruler of Aries) still retrograde we may experience frustration as our minds are anxious to move forward and yet we are still stymied by the ongoing Retrograde (Mars). Over the coming weeks as Mercury moves through Ares our thinking and planning is energized and wants to move forward far quicker than is really available to us. Mars turns direct at 9:31PM EDT on May 19, 2014.

Tuesday, April 8, 2014:

Tuesday morning, before 6 AM EDT the Moon enters Leo! Ah, I always love a Leo Moon! With the Moon in Leo we have a situation where the emotional environment matches our thinking with Mercury newly in Aries.

At 5:03PM EDT the Sun Opposes Mars (Libra). I can imagine this being a day were there is great stress as you believe you need to take ACTION now and yet something holds you back! You are ready to open your mouth to say something you know is better left unsaid. If you keep a journal, take a look at any entries you made last year (2013) between April 16th and April 18th. What were you highly energized or angry about? How was this issue re-engaged between January 1st and January 3rd, 2014? Was there a reoccurrence of a problem or a recommitment to a vast project? Now look at what has developed from that initial situation. You should now see clearly how you have managed that particular situation.

Wednesday, April 9, 2014:

On Wednesday we will still be under the influence of the Sun impacting Mars from yesterday. With the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Leo there is the potential for fiery volatile energies.  You may experience this as powerful excitement and enthusiasm or as intense anger and frustration. The Leo Moon makes lovely aspects to Uranus, Mars, and the Sun. throughout the day. This is a powerful day to take action. Take advantage of this fiery energy, get of the house, use your energy in a physical way, get out for a hike, a run, or a bike ride.  Enjoy your ability to move your physical being.

Thursday, April 10, 2014:

On Thursday the Moon makes her final aspect while in Leo; a Square to Saturn, while we sleep (2:26AM EDT). Following this stressful interaction with the Father-of-Time, of structure, of resistance; the Moon goes VOC until 6:08 PM EDT when she enters Virgo. This gives us the bulk of the day to keep our own counsel without a lot of expectations of others or even ourselves. The excitement and over-the-top energy of Wednesday isn’t sure how to manage itself. It may be rough to feel accomplished or like you can focus easily. When the Moon enters Virgo this evening we can anticipate feeling more stable, contained, and we can look forward to a more productive day on Friday.

Friday, April 11, 2014:

Friday is a day made for accomplishment. This is the day to deal with the details that must be managed as you proceed forward with the coming changes in your life! The Virgo Moon encourages us to be aware of the potential of what we are moving toward. So often we see the changes as we approach them and we see very little as we are in the eye of the storm. Friday provides us with an opportunity to open our eyes to an awareness of the larger potential that we are involved in creating!  Don’t get caught up in the details of bringing this potential to life. Venus (having entered Pisces last week) makes contact with Neptune on Friday evening. The Conjunction between these planets begins a new cycle in their relationship. In this case the relationship between Venus and Neptune is a lovely one! When Venus and Neptune come together there is a soft glow and a romantic edge to all that we value and love. Create a romantic evening, or an evening of connection to music, poetry, art, and beauty. See a performance, go to an art opening; seek beauty, love, and love of beauty. Open you heart to the vast experience of aesthetics and sensuality. This connection between Venus and Neptune brings us to a new appreciation of beauty, a new relationship, new love and appreciation for a long time relationship, or new understanding of our own connection to Spirit. With the beginning of a New Cycle an Old Cycle has passed away. The Cycle that is passing away began at the end of February 2013. What began at that time that is now being released? This could be the passing away of some addiction, the passing away of something beautiful in your life in order to make space for what is now presenting itself in this new cycle.

Saturday, April 12, 2014:

This is a Saturday that will be best used in very practical ways. Home projects or offering yourself to the service of others will be ideal. The Moon is in Virgo throughout the day making her final Aspect; a Sextile to Saturn at 1:12PM EDT. Following that supportive Aspect the Moon will be VOC* until very early Sunday morning. This will not be a weekend of wild times or much successful socializing. However this will be a great day for important structuring, organizing, and stabilizing. If you haven’t gotten your taxes done (in the USA taxes are due on April 15th) this will be a great time to accomplish that! Again remember that with the Virgo Moon VOC we don’t want to take on any new projects; it will be best to stick to the mundane tasks associated with whatever we are trying to accomplish.

Sunday, April 13, 2014:

Sunday looks like an amazingly quiet day! The Moon enters Libra at 4:34 AM EDT and does not make a single Aspect until tomorrow morning! With the Moon in Libra it would be a great day to quietly make art or spend time with friends or loved ones who know how to be in calm harmony together. No wild parties or high expectations. Don’t try to get a lot done on Sunday, consider this a day to enjoy the calm before the storm! Next week will bring us into more intensification. Here we go. Ride the waves as they come, enjoy the calm when it is presented.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: March 31, 2014 through April 6, 2014

The week begins with the Moon in Aries following yesterday’s New Moon, which began this New Cycle very closely united with the coming Grand Cross. We can not be alive on this planet in these times without feeling this pressure building. What is changing in your life, your perceptions, your circumstances, or your thinking?

We are now on the other side of the Aries New Moon. Regardless of the temperature outside, here in the northern hemisphere, we know that spring must come! Perhaps this will be the week that warmth will arrive.

Throughout the course of this week the Moon moves from Aries, through Taurus, Gemini and into the mid degrees of Cancer. On an emotional level we are concerned with Self. We seek the best manner to assert ourselves, comfort ourselves, express ourselves, and finally, at the end of the week we are ready to move out of the realm of self and begin to express love and nurturing to those closest to us.

This is certainly a week to pay attention to as we reach ever closer to the Grand Cross, only a few weeks away. The Aries Sun, with all his assertive energy to push forward with aggression and force, connects with Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto!

We know we are on the precipice of great irrevocable change. This week brings intensity, insistence, and demand for the transformation that is pressing upon us to move forward. If we have been trying to exercise patience or self control, this week could easily blow that self-control and patience right out of the water! Prepare the way forward, we are in motion.

Get out your journals for this posting, as there are some significant cycles you’re going to want to reflect back on to understand where you are in current time.

Monday, March 31, 2014:

Following Sunday’s New Moon we begin the week with the Moon in Aries. This is a day that provides us with a great deal of energy to begin the week. We feel alive, energized, and ready to take on the world. We may have very little patience, be easily aggravated, and riled up by others.  You will want to keep an eye on issues of assertiveness, anger, and aggravation throughout the day. The Aries Moon goes VOC* at 4:07 PM EDT following a sweet Sextile between the Moon and Venus. This provides us with an excellent evening to express our love, appreciation, and gratitude to others. This expression of love will does not come from an emotional space but from a spiritual enthusiasm.

Tuesday, April 1, 2014:

Early Tuesday morning while we (in the northern hemisphere) are sleeping, the Moon will enter Taurus (1:19 AM EDT).  The moon makes lovely Aspects throughout the day; we seek calm, ease, and comfort within the environment of the day!

Now, I want you to look back at approximately June 19, 2013. What was newly expanding in your life at that time? Were you learning something new? Were you developing, or coming to understand a new belief system? Were you opening to seeing the world from a larger perspective? If you can identify what was growing, developing, or expanding at that time, look also to mid October. At this time the same issue was at hand, an action was taken regarding what had begun in June. In early January you were very likely to fully see the results of what began in June. If you know what this pattern is referring to, please write me a note, I would love to hear about it.  This is the Cycle between the Sun and Jupiter; at this time we come to the closing Square between them. Consider what adjustments need to be made as you are able to see the weak areas of your original plan. Now it is time to let go of certain elements that are no longer supportive as that Cycle shifts toward another cycle of expansion that will begin in July 2014.

Be aware of tendencies to over-indulge, over-spend, and over-extend yourself!

Wednesday, April 2, 2014:

Wednesday will very likely be a day of intensity! You are likely to experience intense excitement or intense anxiety, depending on your perspective or circumstances. Do you have planets in the mid degrees of cardinal signs? This is where excessive amounts of stress and tension are currently being held. The Sun Conjuncts Uranus at 3:08 AM EDT, at 12degrees Aries. This begins a New Cycle in the relationship between the Sun and Uranus. Our most unusual, even revolutionary ideas and plans are enlivened under this influence. This also concludes the previous cycle that began on March 28, 2013. To follow this cycle you could consider what began on that day. The issue at hand came back for renewed attention/ required action on July 4, 2013, came into full clarity on October 3, 2013, sought reevaluation (and the beginning of release) on December 30th and now we see the completion of that Cycle as the new one begins.  Any brilliant ideas, sudden inspirations, and deep excitement that you are pulled toward at this time are  worthy of deep consideration.

Thursday, April 3, 2014:

There will be a VOC* Moon on Thursday but it’s not apt to interfere with our lives here in the northern hemisphere. The moon is VOC following a square to Venus at 2:43 AM EDT. At 7:48 AM EDT the Moon will enter Gemini, thereby ending the VOC* Gemini Moon offers the opportunity to open our minds to deep levels of curiosity and interest in all that is happening around us. There may be a great deal of conversation and activity; with Gemini Moon there is a constant busyness surrounding the day. But the significant news on this Thursday has nothing to do with the Moon in Gemini.

The Sun squares Pluto at 5:21 AM EDT. The Cycle between the Sun and Pluto began on the first day of 2014. I suspect we each knew, if we were paying attention at that time, where in our lives a serious transformation was being called for. Anything that began at that time needs to be looked at carefully at this time. What action can you take at this time that will move you forward? Where is it you want to land when the dust settles following the transformations we are currently engaged in? Consider carefully and take one significant step forward now.

Friday, April 4, 2014:

In the midst of incredible intensity we have a day of simple Aspect to the Gemini Moon. As much as possible spend Friday with friends, engage yourself in social situations, engage your mind with creativity and curiosity. With such an intense week, this is a day to set the pressure aside, take time to enjoy a social Friday evening. Try not to complicate anything!

Saturday, April 5, 2014:

The Moon begins Saturday still in Gemini and makes her final Aspect, a Square to Mercury, at 10:55 AM EDT. Following that the moon will be VOC* until she enters Cancer at 5:39 PM EDT.

The significant issue of Saturday is Venus leaving the eccentric land of Aquarius to enter the deeply sensitive area of Pisces. Venus represents all that we value and hold dear; including money, resources, and all things of beauty and value in our lives. Since March 5th Venus has been in Aquarius where our minds have been willing to except beauty, and find value in more unusual places.  I think Aquarius is a very fun place for Venus as our inspiration and insights encourage us to explore a quirkier view of the world. On Saturday Venus leaves that behind and enters the sensitive quiet space of Pisces. Venus is moves quite rapidly through the Signs and will spend approximately a month in Pisces. Venus loves her time in Pisces. During this time we are given the opportunity to truly v

alue sensitivity, softness, connection, and deep mystical love. This is a great month to take up a spiritual discipline, begin writing poetry, or simply enjoy the pleasure of singing in the shower! Go ahead and enjoy your glass of wine in the evening but be aware of any overindulgence in alcohol or other mind-altering substances. Find the healthiest ways to move out of the mundane world.

Sunday, April 6, 2014:

Sunday brings us a full day with the Moon traveling through Cancer. We will begin the day immersed in dreamy sensitivity.  Go ahead and keep those rose-colored glasses on as long as you’re able to. By evening the rose-colored glasses have probably given way to more reality as the Cancer Moon makes contact with both Uranus and Pluto reactivating, once again the upcoming Grand Cross. I would suggest spending time alone this evening. Allow yourself to reminisce, and connect with your own process of change!

Mercury Retrograde: Astrology Weather February 3, 2014 – February 9, 2014

This week we turn toward a more personal focus. Our thoughts are on our own individual needs, our own pleasures, and our own thoughts. Consider what you need this week.

I know you will all be interested to know that Mercury turns retrograde on Thursday, February 6th  at 3° of Pisces.
It is almost as though Mercury realizes she is about to make contact with Neptune and quickly turns away. Perhaps we aren’t yet ready to look at the world through the filter of such sensitivity and idealism.

There are projects and plans that must be complete before we move any further into that elusive space of mind. There are tasks that must be redone before we move forward. So now as Mercury appears to move backwards we consider the reality of what we need to redo, rework, rethink, and re-imagine.

Monday, February 3, 2014:

In my mind when I write these posts I consider that Monday morning means that everyone is heading back to work. I realize that is not the reality of everyone’s life (certainly not my own!) but for purposes of writing the weekly posts it works for me to think of it that way.
This week Monday begins with a powerful energy of beginnings! Moon in Aries is all about what is new, fresh, and vital! With the Moon in Aries our emotional nature is self absorbed, we want what we want! We don’t want to take ‘No’ for an answer, our own needs are of primary importance. Think about Aries as the screaming infant who wants its own way, or the courageous warrior at your side just when you need him/her. We begin the week with the attitude of selfishness, impatience, or dynamic courage. If you look around you will see impulsiveness and assertiveness openly expressed.
It may be a cranky start to the week as that fiery aggressive Aries Moon makes contact with Uranus and Pluto. It would be easy to let frustration and even anger rule the day. However, you can stretch yourself outside of that narrow use of this energy. Look to see where you can show strength, leadership, and determination in the service of others. Find ways to utilize directed forceful energy without being locked in self-concern.

Tuesday, February 4, 2014:

On Tuesday we still have assertiveness, strength, and determination, courtesy of the Aries Moon,  without the struggle and anxiety that Uranus and Pluto added to the mix on Monday.  Early in the day (Moon Sextile Sun) look for an opportunity to bring your most dynamic energy to the service of humanity at large; keep your eyes focused on the big picture and pay attention to what needs to be done. There is certainly an abundance of energy for pushing forward.
It is important to expend physical energy in the evening (Moon Oppose Mars). Go for a long run, a vigorous hike, or get yourself to the ski slopes! Get some of that energy out of your body; no team sports please! This is an individual and solitary endeavor. Without expending pent-up assertiveness you could easily become frustrated and short-tempered with others! Following the Opposition to Mars at 6:14PM EST the Moon will be VOC* until morning when she will enter the predictable calm world of Taurus.

Wednesday, February 5, 2014:

When you wake up Wednesday morning notice that whatever battle you have been fighting for the last few days is over! You will be ready to settle-in and seek-out a bit of comfort and stability. The Moon enters Taurus at 4:47AM EST. Pay attention to a deeply abiding sense of reverence*; develop the ability to notice and recognize it.
Pay attention to your body over the next few days. Get a massage, enjoy a physical discipline/practice that is slow, deliberate, and earthy. Get in touch with your physical needs/desires. Appreciate the gift of having a human body to inhabit. Connect with beauty and wonder of this life.

At 2:51 PM EST Jupiter, which is in the nurturing Sign of Cancer, Trine Chiron. Chiron is a dwarf planet that represents our deepest wounds and our most profound healing. Whatever kindness and affection you show to yourself at this time, will empower deep healing. Show warmth, kindness, and love to yourself and all who you encounter.
*Definition of Reverence: A feeling of profound awe, respect and often love; veneration.

Thursday, February 6, 2014:

Yes, Mercury turns retrograde on Thursday, but first lets look at the Moon! The Moon in Taurus comes to her First Quarter Square (2:22PM EST at 18degrees Taurus). Consider what you began on the New Moon last Thursday, January 30. Whatever began, or whatever you put into motion at that time now requires you to take action. What action, taken now, will propel forward your aspiration? If you are certain this is the direction you want to go; take action now. Stabilize your intention with action in reality.
Mercury turns retrograde at 4:43 PM EST I know how hard this is for many of you. People get very worked up around Mercury retrograde and yet it is a powerful time for accomplishment if we know how to use it. The key is to look at what jobs tasks projects programs are still sitting unfinished on your desk. Mercury will remain retrograde until February 28th. For now there is no point in trying to move forward on any new projects,  plans etc. it is time to complete what has been left incomplete. Clean up your desk, find all the incomplete tasks, all the phone calls you haven’t returned, all the jobs that still need a few more touches to finish. Now you can easily get them done!  It is time to redo, re-imagine, reread, rewrite, and re-create what is left undone from the past.

Friday, February 7, 2014:

Just before midnight EST on Thursday the Moon made a final aspect while in Taurus (an Opposition to Saturn) bringing a sense of hard work and responsibility into the early part of Friday. However with the Moon being VOC* until 1:44 PM EST we may be left with a feeling of frustration at not being able to accomplish what we feel like we ‘should’! Let go of the ‘shoulds’ and allow yourself to feel fine with exactly where you are in every moment. Remember you are heading toward a great weekend.
Early Friday evening with the Moon in Gemini provides a great opportunity for socialization and exploration of new ideas. It wouldn’t be a bad idea to head home early and spend time alone with a good book or a movie.

Saturday, February 8, 2014:

Saturday morning the Moon in Gemini Sextiles Uranus in Aries! To me this looks like a day for Fun, Exploration, Excitement!  This is a time to realize that we can learn so much, enrich our lives with so many new people and new ideas. Everyone we encounter has thoughts and idea what can enrich our thinking. What an opportunity it is when we share information with others. The more unlike ourselves they are the more we can learn. Don’t narrow your social focus to people who are your age, your race, your ethnicity, or who share your spiritual or political opinions! Expand outward to those you don’t have much in common with. Share thoughts, share ideas, listen! This provides us with a great opportunity to learn, grow, and explore. Take the time to look in directions you’ve never looked before; explore ideas you never thought would be interesting. This can work well today because Moon Sextile Uranus allows us to keep our emotions objective and somewhat detached. Enjoy! Share! Explore!

Sunday, February 9, 2014:

How lovely! The entire weekend is cut out perfectly for what we would imagine a great weekend to be! On Sunday the Moon will remain in Gemini; going VOC at 4:09 PM EST following a Trine to Mars. Spend the evening finishing up preparations for the upcoming week, light socializing, reading, or light study would be a perfect end to the weekend!
