A Coign of Vantage by Lawence Alma Tadema via Wiki Commons

As we head into this week, reaching into June and the full summer season, we must remember that one of the main themes of this year is the square aspect formed between Saturn and Neptune (exact hits occurring on: 11/26/2015, 6/17/2016, and 9/10/2016).  With both planets now retrograde, we must reflect back upon issues in our lives relating to dreams, fantasies, escape vs. structure, reality, and stability.  How do we allow each of these energies to live and teach fully within us when they pull against each other so readily?

As we get closer to the next ‘hit’, pay attention to where these themes are activated your life.  Take careful note of the places where dreams conflict with reality, escape with restriction, fantasy with solid form, illusion with authority, compassion with control, and responsibility with bewilderment.  Finding a balance point is not easy. Keep your eyes open on each side of this divide; take full responsibility for where you find yourself.  Allow your mystical inspiration and your practical maturity to guide you.  Find a way to hold space within yourself for the full dichotomy of our lives.

Monday, May 30, 2016:

The Moon is in Pisces on Monday.  She is relatively quiet until evening when she forms a trine aspect to Mars at 7:10 PM EDT.  This offers us a good deal of physical energy.  Please don’t waste it sitting on the couch watching television or YouTube! The fact that it is Monday night should never be a reason to stay close to home. Shake up your routine.

At 9:09 PM EDT, the Moon enters Aries.  As we head toward bed on Monday night, a trine aspect is formed between Mercury and Pluto, empowering our conversations or our ability to make ourselves heard or understood.  What needs to be said?  Who does it need to be said to?  Craft a letter or an article that will bring depth to the topic at hand.

The cycle of Mercury and Pluto is about the expression of power.  Whatever expression was just beginning in late January is now easily expressed even as it continues to gather depth of understanding.  A powerful truth can be understood and spoken of in a way that is readily understood by others as well.  Say what you need to say.

Tuesday, May 31, 2016:

On Tuesday, the Moon remains in impulsive Aries.  The aspects formed by that assertive Moon suggest an easy-going day of possibility, accomplishment, and stability.  The Moon forms sextile aspects to Venus and the Sun, each in Gemini.  You can expect to find yourself in multiple sociable connections and conversations. Whatever endeavors you are involved in will very likely draw the attention and support of others.

At 7:24 PM EDT, the Aries Moon forms a lovely trine aspect (an aspect of free flowing energy) to Saturn, which encourages stability, an ease of effort, and the acceptance of reality.

Work on releasing your ego attachment to the results of whatever you are trying to accomplish; add disciplined steadfast effort and your progress will surprise yourself as much as others.

Early in the day on Wednesday, the Aries Moon squares Pluto and conjunct Uranus.  You may notice yourself or others exhibiting selfish, impulsive, and even combative behaviors.  Be patient and kind.  Simply maintain enough awareness of your own responses to ‘not go there’.

You may need to bite your lounge or step outside for a walk in order to keep from taking an action or saying something that you would likely regret.  It may feel like a big deal in the moment but really, it is a simple Moon transit and will pass relatively easily if you do not feed it with unwise and unnecessary reactions.

Consider the dream, fantasy, or idealization that began at the end of February 2016 (Sun conjunct Neptune)  Do you have a clear picture of how you want that situation to look when it reaches its full illumination in early September (Sun oppose Neptune)?

Be clear about what you want, it would be easy to allow lack of clarity on this issue.  Consider that clarity of purpose will help inform you of the action that must be taken now to support the full expression you want by early September 2016.  At 10:41 PM EDT, the Sun square Neptune.  This First Quarter Square demands that an action is taken that will lead to your desired outcome.

At 10:47 PM EDT, the Moon leaves the fight behind and enters Taurus bringing rest, comfort, and sleep.

Thursday, June 2, 2016:

There is nothing quite like the simplicity and sweet taste of reverence in a well aspected Taurus Moon.  This is what Thursday offers.  A lovely Taurus Moon encourages us to seek reliability, the deep appreciation of beauty, comfort, and sensuality without guilt.

Yes, you can probably sense the struggle that is just ahead with a few, not so easy, lessons on the horizon.  On Friday, you will need to face reality head-on as significant issues loom; that can wait another day.  This day will help build strength to face those issues with more ease.

The Taurus Moon forms a sextile aspect to Neptune and a trine aspect to Jupiter on Thursday evening.  This brings a flow of expansion and opportunity along with the potential of deep sensitivity, spiritual devotion, and compassion.  Prepare for a day where you directly encounter the stability available within the depth of your commitment to your higher beliefs, your spirituality, and your inspired generosity and compassion.

Head into the world with the commitment to show kindness and compassion in all the areas where it is least expected of you.

Friday, June 3, 2016:

We are firmly in the Dark of the Moon as we prepare for the New Moon on Saturday night.  Until she enters Gemini at 11:01 PM EDT, the Moon remains in Taurus. However, we cannot expect the simplicity of Thursday’s Taurus Moon!

Friday will have complications.

In the wee hours of the morning, Venus square Neptune and the Sun opposes Saturn.  Later in the evening, Venus opposes Saturn (8:46 PM EDT).  These transits last much longer that the quick moving Moon transits, and will reflect our internal or external landscape for a day or so on either side of the exact time of the transit.

Venus square Neptune brings us to a place where we must take action on a dream that began toward the end of March.  Think about your relationship with alcohol, drugs, poetry, meditation, spirituality; all those things that Neptune brings to us.

Neptune offers imagination and the breaking down of barriers.  Do you remember that dreamy time in March?  I remember that I became almost obsessed with poetry during that time.  I think I’ll make it a point to write poetry on Friday.  Maybe this is the time to begin a meditation practice or stop constantly turning to that bottle of wine.  The question is simple: what action do you need to take to support your most valuable dream?

Now, consider the contact made between both the Sun and Venus to Saturn.  Because these are oppositions they show us the results of what we began the last time they came together in a conjunction.  Whatever you began at the end of November 2015, that was intended to increase your individuality, now we are shown how far we have come.

A similar situation exists regarding what you began in early January that was intended to increase love or value in your life.  Friday is likely to be a day of contemplation as you question your choices and the results of those choices.  There is much to consider as you can now see where the choices you made in November and January have brought you.

If you have not deepened your individuality or increased your sense of love and inner value, you must now consider how to adjust your life to increase independence and loving connection.

Saturday, June 4, 2016:

Saturday offers an interesting perspective on our current circumstances.  Because the actual New Moon doesn’t occur until 11:00 PM EDT, this is a day of building up to your need to make a significant decision.

What is the seed that you want to plant now?  Making the decision before the actual New Moon will abort its chances before it begins.  Allow the day to offer the secrets of the New Moon as it unfolds.

During the course of the day, the Sun, Venus, and the Moon all form a square transit to Jupiter with Neptune still in the mix.

Are you experiencing deep levels of love, expansion, and lack of clarity?  Illusion may keep the path unclear, things may not be as they seem.  Something that has been building since last summer is releasing its hold on you.  Do you have the courage to follow the inner whisperings of your heart?  Do you trust that what you are releasing now will create space in your life for more richness?  How do you manage the fear and caution that arises?  What voice is it appropriate to listen to? Which voice leads to heartbreak?  Which leads to a deep healing?

This is a day to go deeply inside, honor the part of yourself that KNOWS the path that calls you to its service.  You are well cared for as long as you trust that your path simply lies ahead.  The direction you take will bring you to where you are going.

At 10:09 PM EDT, the Moon conjunct Venus as the final aspect before the New Moon. Curiosity and communication combine with love and beauty.  Do you find yourself deeply curious about a new love, a new art form, or growth of your own personal values?  Decisions should be made after 11:00 PM EDT; no need to stay awake; tomorrow is fine.

Sunday, June 5, 2016:

The Moon in Gemini can bring with it great curiosity and mental stimulation; it can also show up as anxiety, impatience, and fidgety mental energies.  The Gemini Moon sextile Uranus in the early afternoon may amp this up.  It is important to find an outlet for intellectual creative curiosity.  Have open-minded conversations with people who think very differently than what you are accustomed to.  You may hear something that completely changes your view and perception of the world.  It is a great gift to experience the opening of our minds to new ways of perceiving our reality.

Take a direct step into curiosity by bringing up conversations that are thought of as taboo in polite company.  Go ahead; talk about sex, religion, and politics.  Maintain a posture of curiosity and LISTEN.  Be available to encounter a new way to see the world.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, textiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Our conversation will offer you a profoundly renewed perspective on your life and circumstances.

Monday, November 23, 2015:

Last Friday, Venus made contact with Pluto bringing us into contact with our need to transform deeply held personal values. Another perspective is presented, a different way to see possibly unacknowledged ways of understanding those values. Where do your habitual beliefs come from? Do the values you hold truly represent your most authentic beliefs?

Consider what beliefs or values regarding love or money began in early March of this year. Did something unsettling or anxiety producing occur that changed your perspective on your deepest values?

Whatever began at that time comes to the point of its full illumination. Have you made the best decisions along the way? If you took appropriate, courageous action at the end of March you will find yourself at a high point of inspiration; your values regarding money and love will shine with clarity. If you are at a point of deep anxiety, you probably took actions that led you along a path that no longer resonates with your deepest truths.

The Moon enters Taurus at 11:25 AM EST bringing stability to your understanding of the path ahead.

“Happiness in not something ready made. It comes from our own actions.” ~ Dalai Lama XIV

Tuesday, November 24, 2015:

We have very busy days this week. On Tuesday with Mars sextile Saturn, you are aware of an upcoming goal, something that will begin in the summer of 2016. Begin now to look at the steps ahead, consider how to approach this goal steadily, seeking persistent progress.

Another cycle begins today, as Mercury is conjunct Saturn. Your thoughts seek practical reality. This is the beginning of a cycle of stabilizing your mind, thoughts, and ability to communicate. This may be an excellent evening to finally say what must be said. Over the coming months, the results of that communication will become clear.

You will probably not need the reminder, but it is important to be kind and very patient as you deliver communications that you are not sure if they will be happily received.

“It does not do to leave a live dragon out of your calculations, if you live near him.” ~ J. R. R. Tolkien

Wednesday, November 25, 2015:

The Full Gemini Moon arrives at 5:45 PM EST reminding us to look for that spot of clarity that has grown over the past two weeks. Where did you plant a seed at the New Moon that is now fully grown? Do you see how significant your communications, and the results of those communications are at this time? On Wednesday, Mercury square Neptune adding an ethereal element to your thinking and your stories. Your dreams may be idealistic, pushing you forward with imagination and hope. With Mercury also sextile Mars, you are given an opportunity to work with determination to reach your dreams.

At 12:16 PM EST, the Moon enters Gemini. You will likely feel excessive, impulsive energy. Watch your words, play with your imagination and allow yourself to take quick action of what lands in your lap. Use excessive energy physically.

Thursday, November 26, 2015:

Structure meets delusion. On Thursday, Saturn squares Neptune (due to the upcoming retrograde this aspect will reoccur in June and again September of 2016). This is an aspect with long-term impact as each of the planets move quite slowly. Reality may meet illusions, and our imagination and dreams meet stability and stabilization, during this time period.

If you struggle with addictions or have something to hide (from yourself or others), this will not be easy as you encounter circumstances that may be difficult to comprehend. Misunderstandings, bewilderment, and even deception may arise. This is a time to look clearly at where you are hiding from yourself and finally gain clarity on your addictions or other ways that you do not look clearly at the reality of your situation. This is a powerful time to take control of your addictions or others wayward actions, that keep you from living your true authentic life.

Much depends on how you deal with the facts of your situation as they are presented now. You may learn a great deal about the importance of integrity and attentiveness in your life. This is an aspect that you will be working with for a long time.

“Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.” ~ Mark Twain

Friday, November 27, 2015:

Friday presents a day of further contemplation on the issues we talked about on Thursday. That aspect between Saturn and Neptune is in full swing in our lives for the upcoming year. So get clear on where you hide your deepest self. Allow full view of your illusions.

The Moon is in Gemini VOC* until she enters Cancer at 2:27 PM EST. This is a wonderful afternoon or evening to spend with family. Go ahead and allow a bit of nostalgia. Yesterday, Thanksgiving itself, may have turned out more difficult than Friday.

Maintain a low-key family centered evening. Enjoy!

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: It is the courage to continue that counts.” ~ Winston Churchill

Saturday, November 28, 2015:

If you spent Thursday and Friday with family, it may be time to head back to your own home on Saturday, or to pack up the relatives and say farewell.

The Moon continues through Cancer but she is not having a lovely day. In her travels on Saturday, she forms stressful connections to Mars, Pluto, and Uranus. Any underlying issues within the family could easily come to a head. Your best results will be to get the day off to a great start by connecting with everyone in your family with kindness and love. Keep it relatively light and be ready move forward into an evening alone.

“I always wonder why birds choose to stay in the same place when they can fly anywhere on the earth. Then, I ask myself the same question.” ~ Haran Yahya

Sunday, November 29, 2015:

The Moon continues through Cancer until 7:47 PM EST when she joyfully steps into Leo. Leo Moon is delighted to have her beloved Sun in the confident glow of Sagittarius. They are ready to play together.

However, the tension, (that is the square of the planets), between Saturn and Neptune is palatable. The Sagittarius Sun pushes his way into the mix, demanding answers to his rather blunt questions.

The Sun squares Neptune and conjunct Saturn on Sunday showing you glimmers of the issue at hand. Neptune asks where your self-interests may be inappropriate or unhealthy. Saturn asks you to do the hard work necessary to create a structure that will move you from that self-interest to deeply intuitive compassion and understanding. This is not the time to avoid or put off your own self growth and understanding.

Monday, May 25, 2015:

Monday certainly gives us a great deal to think about.

On the simplest level, we have the First Quarter Moon; a time to step up and take action on what we want and are working toward. If you planted a seed of sensual intent at the New Moon on Sunday, May 17, now is the time to take action as you move toward the development of the full expression of your sensuality.

The Moon is in Virgo throughout the day allowing us to work efficiently with detail, humility, and discernment.

At 1:09 PM EDT, Venus squares Uranus. On March 15, 2015, Venus and Uranus came together to begin a cycle of unexpected excitement in relationship or our personal values. Look to your journal or calendar to determine what began at that time; in what way were your values awakened?

Remember, Uranus is often called ‘The Awakener’. With this cycle, we ask where we are awakening to a more expansive and unusual sense of beauty. This is the First Quarter square of this cycle, and we must take a definitive step forward to fully develop the deep value of our awakening.

At 7:37 PM EDT, Mars squares Neptune suggesting confusion, lack of clarity, deep suffering, or a spiritual/mystical element to our sexuality. During this cycle, we bring strength and energy to our spiritual path and spirituality to our sexual path. This cycle began in January of 2015 and now asks that we make a commitment and a serious step toward its development. Perhaps we are being asked to develop a tantric sexual practice or simply to write poetry or make music.

Monday is a complicated day with the excitement of Uranus impacting our relationships and our values. At the same time, Neptune brings a soft edge to our sexuality or other use of physical energy. If you’re hearing mixed messages from the Universe, don’t be surprised and be patient.

Remember that Mercury is retrograde; so we are working on cleaning up parts of our lives that we have left undone over recent months. We may not feel up to the expectations that others have for us, or even our own expectation of ourselves. Be kind and patience to yourself and others.

Tuesday, May 26, 2015:

On Tuesday, we will still be under the influence of the transits of Venus to Uranus and Mars to Neptune. As with yesterday, you will want to honor both the lack of clarity and the excitement through mindfulness, acceptance and understanding.

The Moon is in Virgo all day forming a trine to Pluto at 11:36 AM EDT and a sextile to Venus at 10:22 PM EDT. This suggests a day of accomplishing practical issues within the context of work and relationship. Even with Mercury currently retrograde, this could be an excellent day for communication with a partner.

You are not going to want to begin a new conversation. However, if a conversation or topic that the two of you have struggled with in the past rears its head on Tuesday, there is great support for coming to new understandings and agreements that will highly support this relationship reaching deeper levels of its potential.

Don’t shy away from significant communications. Yes, be clear you are being heard correctly. Remember, it is not always enough to say what needs to be said, it is also your responsibility to make sure that what you have articulated was heard and understood correctly. Double check what the other person heard.

At 10:22 PM EDT, following a sextile to Venus the Virgo Moon is VOC*until she enters Libra at 5:42 PM EDT on Wednesday, May 27th.

Wednesday, May 27, 2015:

At 6:36 AM EDT, Mercury conjunct Mars asks us to revisit an argument or passionate communication from late April. Do not seek resolution at this time, there are long-range implications here. For now, seek to understand your own position and the position of others.

You do not need to firmly defend your position; you only need to understand where it is at this moment in time. Consider that your anger or passion is likely triggered by something that has very little to do with the other person.

It will be mid-July before you find resolution and are able to fully begin a new cycle of passion within your thinking and communications.

The Moon is VOC*in Virgo until she enters Libra at 5:42 PM EDT. Wednesday evening should be pleasant for socializing or spending time with a loved one. We want to please and be pleased. Our diplomatic skills shine.

Don’t spend the evening home alone unless you’re involved in a project of creating something of beauty. If you are an artist, you may want a model to work with or a partner to simply keep you company in the studio. Enjoy this evening, it should be a good one.

Thursday, May 28, 2015:

Thursday offers up another very pleasant day! The entire week has so much Neptune energy that even without an exact aspect we are functioning under its influence. Think of rose-colored glasses, the softness of music and poetry, and the peace of deep meditation.

The Moon is in Libra throughout the day and makes lovely, free flowing aspects to the Sun, Mercury, and Mars in Gemini. We are deeply curious about those around us. We want to express ourselves; to be seen and to delight in conversation and connection.

It may seem easy to have conversations but do keep in mind that Mercury is still retrograde. Remember as well that Libra wishes to maintain peace at all costs. Try to understand what is on the level below words.

LISTEN TO THE TREES SING

Friday, May 29, 2015:

Friday once again brings our attention to a lack of clarity. Our communications may do best to be of a subtle, indirect, and even intangible nature. The Moon in Libra, very much wanting to please, connects with both Pluto and Uranus reminding us that we have not yet left the challenging transformations of the past few years behind.

At 3:00 AM EDT, Mercury squares Neptune asking us to consider that our learning is coming through more indirect ways into our life. Do you find your worldview or intellect expanding in ways that are somehow impossible to put a finger on or understand with your rational mind? Allow yourself to learn through subtle indirect information. If you go outside today, you may hear the trees sing!

At 4:21 PM EDT, following a square to Venus, the Moon is VOC* until she enters Scorpio early Saturday morning at 5:34 AM EDT. Relax into Friday evening without expectations; listen to music, watch a film, enjoy a poetry reading.

Saturday, May 30, 2015:

By the time you awake on Saturday morning, the Moon is in Scorpio, suggesting a day of emotional depth and intensity. The Sun conjunct Mercury at 9° Gemini at 12:55 PM EDT. There does not seem to be much space between who we are and what we think.

Our thoughts may be moving more quickly than usual at this time. With Mercury retrograde and the fact that Mercury rules Gemini, this can bring a great deal of stress to the activity of our minds today.

Don’t neglect your meditation practice if you have one. If you don’t have one, begin one as it will assist you in more ways than you can imagine.

With so much Neptune activity this week, be aware of the situations you find yourself in, particularly if they involve alcohol or recreational drugs of any kind.

Early Sunday morning, the Sun will square Neptune, further highlighting this issue.

Spend time Saturday evening with people you fully trust. We all enjoy some risk-taking in our lives but this is not the night to do that! Stay with trusted friends, go deep in that trust, and allow an intangible depth of passion.

Sunday May 31, 2015:

Sunday is a powerfully Neptunian day. This will be best used for seeking spiritual connection, love, and mystical expansion.

Emotionally, we want to connect with others and yet we must do this with a very soft touch. Spend time on the water if you can, look for beauty in art and poetry.

This is not a day for sporting events or house repairs. An afternoon movie, music recital, poetry reading, or community meditation, or selfless service to others would be valuable and supportive ways to spend this day.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!

If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!

Tuesday, May 26, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Virgo) following a sextile to Venus at 10:22 PM EDT, until she enters Libra on Wednesday, May 27th at 5:42 PM EDT.

Friday, May 29, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Libra) following a square to Venus at 4:21 PM EDT until she enters Scorpio on Saturday at 5:34 PM EDT.

The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
