Astrolore’s weekly weather: June 30, 2014 through July 6, 2014

Carl-Spitzweg-The-attic-Oil-Painting

This week is about moving forward. On Monday Mercury will turn direct at 24° Gemini, enabling us to finally take our first steps forward following all the cleanup we’ve been doing for the past three weeks. Throughout the course of the week the Moon moves through Leo, Virgo, Libra, and ends the week in Scorpio. We seek fun, to be of service, to partner diplomatically, and to make contact on deep emotional levels.

What have you been waiting for these past three weeks? You are now ready to take the first steps forward.

Monday, June 30, 2014:

The week begins with the Moon in playful, expressive Leo.

On Monday you would love to play hooky and have an extra day off from work. The afternoon may be challenging as the Moon trines Uranus and sextiles Mars, encouraging you to take action on your most unusual plans. You long for space, freedom, and emotional independence. And yet, even as you seek freedom, you feel pulled back by a sense of responsibility, guilt, and resistance (Moon square Saturn). It is easy to project the difficulty of this onto someone else. Take personal responsibility for the excitement and the hard work of your situation.

This may present us with the desire to fight for change and the desire to strongly resist change. Yes, the two can coexist. Allow both to be the reality of your situation. No decision needs to be made at this time. Cultivate the ability to hold two opposing ideas at the same time. With so many contradictory opinions, it is a good idea to learn to find stability, excitement, and comfort in this balance.

Tuesday, July 1, 2014:

It is a relief to finally come to this day! After three weeks of moving backwards (our perception), Mercury finally turns direct at 8:49 AM EDT. It will take a few days for Mercury to get up to speed. In the meantime you are grateful to be moving forward.

At 6AM EDT, following a sextile to Mercury, the Moon goes VOC* in Leo until she enters Virgo at 5:24 PM EDT. This provides you with the entire day of Moon VOC*. My favorite thing to do when the Moon is VOC* is to spend it in a coffee shop with a good book! You may not have that luxury. However, don’t work on your most important projects on Tuesday. Spend the day completing routine tasks. It will be a few days before Mercury gets to full speed. Save your more important activities for this evening or later in the week.

Wednesday, July 2, 2014:

Don’t be surprised if you wake up Wednesday morning feeling overly sensitive and confused about the direction of your day. The Moon is in Virgo, opposing Neptune at 8:30 AM EDT.

The best way to approach this is to simply get out of your own way and find where you can be of help to others. If you focus your energies on selfish pursuits you will likely struggle and lose your way. Bring humility and discrimination to all your projects and interactions with others. Focus on precision and efficiency in all that you do. Wednesday evening as the Virgo Moon trines Pluto would be a great time to tackle a meticulous project that requires analytical perfection.

Wednesday will probably not be a day of excitement but can be a day of practical productivity and quiet time shared with others.

Thursday, July 3, 2014:

Thursday’s energies are similar to Wednesday’s, a productive day good for detail-oriented work and service to others. However, as we move toward evening, Friday’s early morning opposition between Sun and Pluto is bound to begin making itself known. If you have planets at 12° of Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), pay attention. Where in your life are you under the thumb of someone else’s power or coercion? Over the next 24 hours keep your eyes open to those things you may be trying to keep hidden, from yourself or others.

Friday, July 4, 2014:

Friday offers an opportunity to see deep clarity on your path. At 4:02AM EDT Sun opposes Pluto. Get out your journal and let’s take a look at where this cycle began. Actually, you probably won’t need your journal for this one. The cycle began when Sun conjuncted Pluto on January 1, 2014. That should be an easy day to remember! A new cycle regarding your personal empowerment began at that time. Whatever began on January 1 now has the ability to release the creative energy that has built since that time. Where have you been building power and empowerment? What transformation began that you now see the full picture of? Since January you have been building, purifying, and transcending. How far have you come? What have the results been? Powerful forces have created major change in your life. New perspectives are confirmed!

The Moon is in Libra all day offering diplomacy to the situation.

Saturday, July 5, 2014:

On Saturday, the Moon is in Libra making stressful aspects to Pluto, Sun, Uranus, and Mars. You may want to partner with someone and yet the energies are not making it easy. Your communications could be easily misinterpreted. Early morning brings us to the first quarter square of the Moon. Last Friday, June 27th was a New Moon in Cancer. At that time you planted seeds of domestic desire. Whatever new dynamic you are creating in your domestic situation requires a step forward. Consider what you want to change in the situation and take an action on Saturday.

Sunday, July 6, 2014:

When you awake on Sunday, I suspect you will feel an immediate relief after Saturday’s intensity. Take yourself, a friend, or your family out for brunch! Do something special to enjoy the early part of this day.

At 11:31AM EDT, following a connection with Jupiter, the Moon goes VOC* in Libra.

At 3:34PM EDT the Moon (the symbol of your deepest needs) enters Scorpio. You would benefit from spending time alone in deep contemplation in the afternoon or evening.

* In these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Forecast: May 19, 2014 through May 25, 2014

A Rehearsal in Fairy Land by Richard Doyle

An exciting week ahead!

The most significant changes happen early in the week. On Monday at 9 PM EDT, with the Moon in Aquarius, Mars turns direct! Mars has been retrograde, moving backwards through Libra, since March 1, 2014.

Over the course of this period of time, what have you learned about your own assertiveness and aggression? Have you had the opportunity to contemplate where you need to develop more courage in your life? Have old stories from the past arisen, showing you places where you have misuse your sexual energy? Where in your life have you learned something about courage and the use of bravery?

As Mars turns direct it will be wonderful to move forward once again. Even in direct motion Mars is uncomfortably restrained in this Sign of balance and harmony. Wherever 9degrees Libra is in your chart, you will be ready to move forward following the reservations of the past 6 weeks. Mars will remain in Libra until July 25, 2014.

Enjoy the last few days of Spring’s soft pleasures. As the Sun traveled through Taurus we (in the northern hemisphere) have enjoyed the slow, earthy push toward the warmth of Summer.

Late on Tuesday (10:58PM EDT) the Sun enters Gemini alerting us to enthusiasm and restlessness. This brings us to the last phase of Spring. In another month we will enter Cancer; and with it – Summer!

As we move into Gemini we encounter energies which engage us in curiosity and restlessness. There seems to be a general anxiousness and Inquisitiveness about the changing seasons. As we move out of the slow time of Taurus we are ready to pick up the pace over the coming weeks. During Sun in Gemini we are curious and anxious to engage in many new activities of the mind. We are ready to meet people, talk, listen, and learn!

This week begins with the Moon in Aquarius and ends shortly after the Moon enters Taurus. This brings a decided shift on Friday afternoon as the Moon moves from the universal signs into the personal signs.

Our attention moves from the collective to the personal. By the weekend we will want to find a balance between taking care of ourselves and caring for others. We must consider both sides to this coin!

Monday, May 19, 2014:

Shortly before sunrise on Monday morning, the Moon enters Aquarius. The week begins on a high note of innovative energy and emotional detachment. We are not excited to head into a routine job today. We would love to engage a more unpredictable and independent side of our nature.

We would like to explore new ideas of a humanitarian nature. Once we get to work we have the potential to bring unusual and progressive ideas to the table.

On Monday Mars finally turns direct after moving retrograde since March 1, 2014. Look to the area in your chart the holds 9° of Libra and consider what is ready to finally move forward in this area of your life. Where have you felt restrained and feel that you can finally move forward?

Aries: relationship

Taurus: health routines/cooperation

Gemini: creativity/play

Cancer: your home

Leo: communication/siblings

Virgo: finances/resources

Libra: how you present yourself

Scorpio: something deeply internal

Sagittarius: your community

Capricorn: your career/reputation

Aquarius: travel/education

Pisces: inheritance/resources from someone else

Tuesday, May 20, 2014:

Tuesday is the last day of the Sun in Taurus! Before we rush into the busy season of Gemini spend time today appreciating the gifts of Taurus. Take a moment to slow down, enjoy a quiet meal and perhaps a glass of wine, with a close friend. Pay close attention to the details that are so often missed in our busy lives. Listen to the quality of your friends voice, savor the flavors of the food before you. Pay attention to where you are and what you are doing in each moment. Take nothing for granted. Tomorrow a push of busyness and activity will envelop us as we push inquisitively and restlessly forward.

Moon is in Aquarius throughout the day VOC* following a Trine to Mercury at 6:22PM EDT.

The Sun enters Gemini at 10:58PM EDT. If possible go to sleep early, otherwise it may be difficult to get to sleep at all! Wednesday brings us to a different day indeed!

Feasting and Fun Among the Fuchsias by Richard Doyle
Wednesday, May 21, 2014:

Wednesday brings us a soft dreamy day as the Moon enters Pisces at 8:19 AM EDT. At 8:58 AM EDT the Moon Squares the Sun bringing us to the Third Quarter phase of the Moon. At the Third Quarter Moon we realize it is time to let go of whatever began at the New Moon three weeks ago. Next week we begin a new Cycle between the Sun and the Moon.
Wednesday evening as the Pisces Moon meets up with Neptune our dreams get more fully ingrained with our reality. This is a great day to transcend the ordinariness of our lives.

Touch in to your inspirations, imagination, consider the depth of your compassion. Create art, music, or poetry. Spend time in meditation or prayer. . Look up Tonglen. Practice it!

Thursday, May 22, 2014:

Thursday brings us a day of intense sensitivity and increased dreaminess. It may be difficult to stay in the real world with our jobs and responsibilities. Try to appreciate the more whimsical side of life, work on your intuition, spend more time in meditation. This can be a beautiful day once we escape our expectations.

We are able to see a different side of life; a softer side with less harshness. If you have recently suffered a loss, this could be the day you open to a new deeper acceptance.

The artistic side of life feels more real than the business side. Pay attention to impressions and elusive ideas that come out of the blue. Pay attention to what is soft, sensitive, and intangible. Put on those rose-colored glasses, look at the world with a soft focus, dream.

Listen to the dreams and the suffering of others.

Friday, May 23, 2014:

Friday starts with a VOC* moon following Moon Square Mercury at 2:26AM EDT.

The morning begins with your head still in the clouds from yesterday. It will not last. We are ready to get back to the real world and we do so at 12:02 PM EDT with the Moon entering Aries. Our attention directly enters reality.

Pay attention to the shift in ourselves and others. As we leave the dreamy energy of Pisces, in Aries we encounter the powerful courageous, dynamic, energy of Aries.

With Mars now direct, and ruling the Aries Moon, we are ready to take action this afternoon. We may feel courageous, combative, impatient, and determined.

Restaurants, bars, and everywhere that folks gather will be full this evening. People will want to assert themselves and their independence in physical ways. Find healthy outlets (go dancing!) for this energy and anticipate a great time..

Saturday, May 24, 2014:

Saturday is a day of mixed messages! As the Moon moves through Aries she makes stressful contact with Mars, Pluto, Uranus, and Jupiter. This asks us to look back at the messages we learned from the Cardinal Grand Cross several weeks ago. Some recent struggles may demand a bit more air-time.

Saturday also brings us to a beautiful free-flowing Trine between Jupiter and Saturn. In May 2000 Saturn and Jupiter began their current Cycle; in May of 2010 the Cycle was fully illuminated. This weekend we have the opportunity to share our understanding on this Cycle.   As we consider the Cycle of Jupiter and Saturn we think about abundance/fear, opportunity/struggle, philosophy/solitude, and enthusiasm/control.

Consider fear of abundance, how you define wealth and prosperity, and how your beliefs are tested. What was your state of prosperity in May 2010? What limitations where there on your belief of what was possible? I would suggestion that whatever you have learned during this cycle you are now able to teach. Who needs your message? Give this serious consideration.

How can you bring your understanding of expansion and responsibility to those in your world who could use this message?

Sunday, May 25, 2014:

Sunday begins with a lovely Conjunction between the Moon and Venus both in the sign of determination. This is a day to courageously love others. Following a Sextile to Mercury at 11:58AM EDT the Aries Moon is VOC* until she enters Taurus at 5:28 PM EDT.

This will be a great morning for conversation and the sharing of information. With Mercury in Gemini Sextile the Moon it is easy to make contact. Simple friendliness is easy to share and receive!

With the Moon VOC* in the afternoon, take it easy, spend time either alone or quietly with friends. Don’t schedule anything significant this evening. Spending time alone or with others will be satisfying and without drama. Learn to enjoy and work with the VOC* periods. Time out of time; time of simplicity, time of rest.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 5, 2014 through May 11, 2014

Here we are entering a new week with the Cardinal Grand Cross behind us.

Clearly that does not mean that everything goes back to normal! We move forward, not backward. Nothing ever returns to what it was before!

This feels ever so true in these days. Our awareness has opened beyond what we could have expected. We are able to see our connection to each other and the greater Universe like never before!

There are many people, and situations, in our immediate surroundings and in the world that will take a great deal of time to assimilate what has happened over the last several weeks.

This week The Moon begins her travels in the warm, emotional Sign of Cancer and ends in the diplomatic, connection oriented Sign of Libra.

Last week was a time of full self-engagement, our care and concern was with ourselves; this week we become more aware of others and proceed with a bit more care and compassion for family, children, and intimate partners.

Mercury, the planet of our thinking, communications, and the workings of our minds has been in Taurus since the 23rd of April.  This week Mercury (Wednesday night) moves into Gemini, a Sign that is ruled by Mercury.  Mercury is very happy in Gemini and is moving along at a very quick pace, suggesting speediness of our minds. Our curiosity is intensified and will expand greatly following her/his entry into Gemini.

Well Mercury was in Taurus we worked hard to maintain stabilization within our minds. We tried to keep new thoughts to a minimum no matter how strongly those thoughts were pushing on us. Now we find ourselves ready to open our minds with curiosity and excitement; to bring our thoughts to bear on all that has occurred over the past few weeks. We are ready to hear stories and tell a few of our own!

Monday, May 5, 2014:

Monday begins with the Moon in emotional, family oriented Cancer.  She will be VOC* following a Sextile to Mercury at 4:46 AM EDT. Having the work-week begin with the Moon VOC* is less than ideal. A VOC* Moon just doesn’t equate to a day of great accomplishment. The moon will enter Leo at 1:56 PM bringing more focus and ability into the later part of the day. This will very likely play out to be a great evening for a date with someone new.  You will feel a good deal of self-confidence and the desire to fully express yourself. With a beautiful free flowing Trine between the Moon and Venus you may fee ready and able to shine your inner light brightly!

Tuesday, May 6, 2014:

Whatever began at the Taurus New Moon last Tuesday (April 29th) will need some attention on Tuesday. Whatever you began at that time may feel somehow uncomfortable and unworkable a week later. Rather than tossing that idea aside, consider what action you can take to move it forward. This is the First Quarter Square in the Cycle between the Sun and the Moon. The First-Quarter Square in any Cycle always suggests a problem, with the solution being a particular action. The thing to determine is what that action must be. Think deeply on this today, find the action and take it.

Tuesday has a lovely aspect between the Sun and Jupiter. This opens us deeply, allowing an overflowing sense of expansion, gratitude, and generosity to our outlook. Last year on June 19th the Sun and Jupiter came together at 28 degrees Gemini. What expansion began at that time? Whatever began at that time has come a long ways toward completion. Today you are able to begin letting go of what began then as you will soon begin another Cycle (July 24, 2014) of deepening fulfillment. This is a day of high-energy, high activity, and the potential for a great success.

Wednesday, May 7, 2014:

On Wednesday we come upon another very long VOC Moon. This VOC Moon is in Leo throughout the day following a square to Saturn at 6:51 AM. Keep in mind that  a VOC Moon suggests that that this is a time ‘between’. This is a time when ‘what we do’ is not as important as ‘who we be’. These are times to keep a low profile, rest, rejuvenate, and go inward.

At 10:56 AM EDT Mercury enters Gemini; Mercury rules Gemini, therefore s/he is delighted to enter this active, curious, nervous Sign. Throughout the intensely stressful time of the Cardinal Grand Cross Mercury was in Taurus. This helped us to maintain some stability of mind throughout time. Now our minds, our curiosity, and our communications will get more active and engaged in understanding the process we have recently come through.

Thursday, May 8, 2014:

We wake Thursday morning to the Moon having entered the Sign of high discrimination and order: Virgo. This brings our consideration to issues of refinement, perfection, and highly detailed work. The Moon in Virgo is a time to consider our own judgments of ourselves and others. As we pay attention to the conversation within ourselves we may notice the critical and judgmental side of the archetype of Virgo. Notice how the judgements and criticisms turn most powerfully on ourselves. Friendliness is not something to direct only to others. Unconditional friendliness towards the self is of crucial importance. Thursday evening the Virgo Moon connects with Neptune for an evening of imagination, sensitivity, and inspiration

Friday, May 9, 2014:

Friday the moon is in Virgo throughout the day making lovely aspects with Pluto, Jupiter, the Sun, and Saturn.  Step aside from all of your expectation on Friday and look clearly at the details of your life; work on organization of the whole. There is a clarity and kindness in Virgo that we can open to at this time. This is also a day when we can feel very accomplished and productive. When we leave the office at the end of the day we know we have put in a good days work and are ready for the weekend.

Following a Sextile to Saturn at 6:08 PM EDT the Moon is VOC until Saturday morning. This encourages us to take quiet Friday evening, save your energy for the  up-coming weekend.

Saturday, May 10, 2014:

Not too long after midnight on Friday night the Moon entered Libra. Our connection, we long for that perfect partner. Do not mope around if you do not have a partner; make contact with others in the morning. Find someone to go to lunch or a movie with.

Saturday afternoon (2:27 PM EDT) the Taurus Sun Opposes Saturn (Scorpio). This is a powerful suggestion of dissatisfaction or a time to build a serious structure in your life. Consider what happened between November 5th and November 7th of 2013.  What was very serious or very important that began at that time?  Now you are able to see where the choices you made at that time have brought you. This is the time of full expression of what began then. Consider this and take the next logical steps forward in the process that began then. If you find that you are not where you hoped you would be on this situation, now is the time that you can make new choices on that situation.

Sunday May 11, 2014:

Sunday may prove to be the most stressful day of the week. Early in the morning while you are sleeping Venus Opposes Mars. Consider the Cycle of Venus and Mars as a reflection of the Cycle of Relationship. This Cycle began in early April 2013.  Did you begin, deepen, or otherwise change a significant Relationship at that time? Where do you find that Relationship now?  There may be a good deal of stress involved but you should have a clear view of reality regarding this relationship at this time!

Sunday morning at 8:33 AM EDT Mercury squares Neptune. It may be easier for you to put those rose-colored glasses on then to look at reality. This will be your choice for today. Are you able to see this Relationship with clearly opened eyes or are you looking at it from a perspective of illusion? Time spent in meditation, getting lost in music or poetry would be a nice way to conclude the day. The Libra Moon does make contact with what is left of the Cardinal Grand Cross adding a certain amount of stress to the afternoon. Don’t let it slow you down; prepare for the week ahead and move forward.

Astrolore’s weekly astrology weather: April 28, 2014 through May 4, 2014

Are you still feeling overwhelmed by the intensification, drama, compulsions, or power struggles of the past few weeks? The Cardinal Grand Cross is now over. If you have been doing the work necessary in your own life, you have probably released a lot of energy that has been holding you in place. Do you feel the ground, and your being, shifting into new spaces?

The week begins with the Sun and Mercury in Taurus; with the Moon joining them on Monday morning. This suggests a deep need to develop consistency and solid ground beneath our feet. We long for stabilization and steady routines following the past few wild weeks.

However, the Solar Eclipse (and the Taurus New Moon) on Tuesday continues the momentum of change, adding a new twist to the already changing scenery.

Whatever the change these past few weeks has been insisting upon, it is time to allow that deep level of shifting to be accomplished in order to find the predictable comfort that Taurus seeks.

Two weeks ago the Libra Full Moon was also a Lunar Eclipse. Eclipses are always two weeks apart, one at the Full Moon one at the New Moon. The point between these two events is very often a time when the most dramatic shifts occur.

The Moon begins the week VOC* in Aries, travels through Taurus, Gemini, and ends the week in Cancer. These are the most personal signs. Our hearts connect with our own personal needs. We want what we want; this is a week to consider your own needs and take care of yourself first. We are at the center of our own lives this week.

As Mars and Jupiter pull away from their place in the Cardinal Grand Cross we are ready to move into a deeper connection with the earth and out reverence with her.

Mercury is in high activity mode! This is a week of functioning from logic and thought. We may have occasion to speak up about things we have been previously silent about. We may have the opportunity to expand our thinking or our ability to express the more innovative contents of our minds! We have a great deal on our minds!

On Friday Venus will end her time of happily drifting through the deep silent waters of Pisces and enter into the firey, impulsive, independent space of Aries. Over the coming weeks our values become very clear and we may be called upon to assert our beliefs!

Enjoy this week. It is like a holiday in a park after the past few!

Monday, April 28, 2014:

The week begins with the Moon VOC *in Aries. This has been an very long VOC* period, which began early Sunday morning. The Moon enters Taurus, preparing for Tuesday’s New Moon, at 10:24 AM EDT.  This is a day to practice patience and a deep steadfast reverence for all of life. Consider the importance of slowing down, resisting drama, seeking comfort and deliberate consistency.  With the New Moon tomorrow, we are in the Dark of the Moon. It is important to take the time to go inward and consider what seeds you want to be planting in your life over the next 24 hours. Don’t stop with just the consideration, take the time to get your aspirations down on paper. Formalize your projections for the month. Make a plan.

Tuesday, April 29, 2014:

Tuesday we have a Solar Eclipse along with our Taurus New Moon (9degrees Taurus). The New Moon brings us to a new monthly Lunar Cycle. This is the time that we plant the seeds of what we want to grow over the coming month. Do you know where 9degrees Taurus lands in your horoscope? What do you project for the upcoming month? Where do you want to build and maintain stability, strength, dependability, and reverence?

However, The Solar Eclipse (and the Taurus New Moon) on Tuesday brings one more push to the momentum of change, adding an unexpected twist to the already changing scenery. Eclipses can act as a bit of a wild card. Whatever these past few weeks has been pushing us toward, it is time to allow the change its full expression, in order to reach the predictable comfort that Taurus seeks.

At 1:29 PM EDT Mercury Trine Pluto. Consider back to December 31, 2013. At that time Mercury and Pluto began a new cycle in their relationship. Something very powerful was on your mind, perhaps an important communication or project was in its beginning stage. Now it is possible to clearly see an important element that is ready to push forward into that project or relationship. You can successfully push forward on that situation now.

Do not underestimate the importance of what ever is on your mind regarding this situation. What are you trying to create? Consider carefully, understand the power of your mind, and push forward.

Wednesday, April 30, 2014:

Wednesday begins with the Moon still in Taurus, continuing our emotional need for rest, stabilization, and strength building.

In the morning before we awake Mercury Sextiles Jupiter, suggesting another day of powerful and positive communications and/or work with the mind.  This is an aspect of opportunity and potential. Big and important information may be revealed or exposed.

Our minds and our communications are ready to open and express more belief, empowerment, wisdom and generosity that we ever knew we had access to!  All that we have experienced over these past weeks has enlarged the capacity of our minds!

At 11:54 AM EDT the Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to Venus. The Moon then enters chatty, active Gemini at 4:56 PM EDT.  The afternoon should certainly be a busy one; either in actual activity or within the mind.

There are so many people to talk to, articles and books to read, so much information to absorb and understand.

Your expectations may be high. Be easy on yourself and others.

Thursday, May 1, 2014:

Thursday begins with the Moon in Gemini making contact with Neptune. It may be difficult to get up and out of bed this morning. We may feel sleepy and called back to our dreams and fantasies. However, once we get ourselves moving it will likely be a lively day with friends, new acquaintances, and activities of all sorts.  As the Moon makes positive aspects to both Mars and Uranus it may be difficult to sit still as every cell within us is on alert with heightened perception. Our curiosity level may be restless and quick. Make sure you have some physical activity on your agenda to keep from tumbling into frustration and simple hyped up energy. Go to a lecture, take a class, find others to engage with this evening!

Friday, May 2, 2014:

Friday the Moon is in Gemini VOC* all day! The final aspect was a Sextile to Uranus at 7:32 on Thursday. This is another very long VOC* Moon. After the empowerment and expansion of thinking and planning earlier this week, we come to a bit more reality based information and communication this evening.  At 8:55 PM EDT, Mercury Opposes Saturn. Our conversations, communications, and thinking head to more serious matters. Consider what began at the conjunction between Mercury and Saturn (October/November 2013). What serious issue at hand at that time; were you feeling stuck or restricted in some endeavor?  Now you have a full view of where you thinking at that time has brought you.  If you are not where you want to be on this issue /project, now is the time to make a serious and well considered change in direction.

At 9:20 PM EDT Venus leaves Pisces behind and enters Aries. Venus has been in Pisces since April 5, 2014.Venus loves the soft, sensitive, dreamy, and romantic waters of Pisces. Now as she enters Aries she leaves her flowing scarfs and robes behind and dons her armour and weapons of war.  Our romantic nature may take a very different turn as Venus in Aries does not take ‘no’ for an answer; she is determined and passionate. Venus will remain in Aries until May 28th. Prepare to assertively go after what you want regarding love, resources, or finances!

Saturday, May 3, 2014:

Saturday morning, long before we awake, at 2:13 AM EDT, the Moon enters Cancer. If you have family or loved ones nearby, make plans for a project that will engage everyone. Cooking together is always a good way to spend time with loved ones when the Moon is in Cancer. You could also get out the photo albums and reminisce about those who are far away or no longer with us. This is a day of soft emotional connections to loved ones, home, and the past.

At 8:36 PM EDT the Taurus Sun Trine Pluto bringing power dynamics to the table. This should be able to be managed with just a bit of attention. Each person in your dynamic this weekend is feeling driven to personal empowerment. They each seek individual, vital significance. If you can keep your eyes open and your ego from getting in the way, it can be amazing to see the power expressed in each individual.

Sit off to the sidelines and watch as you empower everyone you encounter with love and kindness.

Sunday, May 4, 2014:

Sunday offers another day with the Moon in Cancer. However, this will be a bit more challenging as the Cancer Moon connects with the ongoing Square between Pluto and Uranus. We may all feel a bit cranky, moody, or defensive early in the day. Don’t take anything personally, particularly in the morning. Later in the day the energies lighten up and by evening all should settle into a simple and gentle time of preparation for the week ahead.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: April 21, 2014 through April 27, 2014

Perhaps you thought that after all the intensity of last week we would get a break this week!

Don’t hold your breath. The story is not over.

We still have this week and much of next week to get through before we can substantially take a break.

The Cardinal Grand Cross, consisting of Uranus (Aries), Pluto (Capricorn), Jupiter (Cancer), and Mars (Libra) is still very much in high focus throughout the week!

Last week Mercury traveled through this land of intensity and unimaginable change! We have been brought into deep shifts and unsettling changes within our minds, we are learning how to think in a new way.

As our thought processes change so do our circumstances.

This week begins with the fifth of seven exact ‘hits’ of the Square between Uranus and Pluto. Two more to go! The first was in the Summer of 2012, and the final exact ‘hit’ will in March 2015. Only a year to go and we can get on with rebuilding the New World we find ourselves in!

With the Moon at Her Third-Quarter Phase in Aquarius, Mars gets into the full action of the Grand Cross as he first Squares Jupiter on Tuesday, then Opposes Uranus and Squares Pluto on Wednesday!

Another week of surprises, innovations, and unusual depth of intensification in our world, both internally and externally!

The key priorities for the week, once again:

  1. Awareness
  2. Self care
  3. Kindness

The week starts with the Moon in Capricorn; she passes through Aquarius and Pisces, and ends the week in Aries. This begins the week with an emotional focus outside of our selves. Saturday morning as the Moon enters Aries our emotional focus turns inward and becomes more centered on the self.

Monday, April 21, 2014:

Monday begins the week with incredible intensity. Energy has been building strongly!  With the Moon in Capricorn there is a serious edge to all that we encounter.

At 3:20 PM EDT Uranus and Pluto make their fifth of seven exact ‘hits’ of the First-Quarter Square between them. There has been so much talk about this configuration over the past few years. Because of how slowly these planets move and how long the cycle lasts, this is a very deep and long-lasting influence. The first exact ‘hit’ came in June 2012 and the final ‘hit’ comes in March of 2015. The intensity of the current impact (April 21) is due in large part to the fact that Mars and Jupiter are standing at 13degrees of Libra and Cancer forming a Full Cardinal Grand Cross with Uranus and Pluto.

Consider the Square Aspect itself as energies pulling at cross-purposes to each other. Think of Uranus as the planet of revolution, unexpected change, innovation, and intensification. Uranus opens our eyes to a future we had not previously considered! Pluto, on the other hand, is the planet of transformation, destruction, and empowerment. Pluto destroys what is in its path in order to make the space for new and powerful change. Consider this. Make no mistake the power of this day, this week, these times we are living in.

Capricorn moon is VOC* following a Square to Mercury at 7:21 PM. If you are emotionally involved in attempting to bring someone to your way of thinking on a particular matter; just let it go!

Tuesday, April 22, 2014:

Shortly after midnight on Monday night the Moon will enter Aquarius and before we awaken we will have reached the Third Quarter phase of the Moon. The Third Quarter Moon brings us to a moment where we are able to look at what has happened in the past week and choose to step aside and take a different path than the one we thought we would be on last week at this time.

Mars is now actively engaged in the Grand Cross making his first Aspect (a Square to Jupiter) at 3:27 PM EDT. Aggravation, anger or a powerful need to take action may feel overwhelming at this point in time. Pay attention to any planets or sensitive points you have at approximately 13° of Cardinal Signs (Aries, cancer, Libra, and Capricorn). Keep breathing. Be patient with yourself and others. Remember that we are in this together and we can come out the other side with a new vision and way of experiencing and viewing the world!

Wednesday, April 23, 2014:

On Wednesday Mars Opposes Uranus and Squares Pluto, be aware of this time. You may experience intense aggravation, fear, excitement, or perhaps an electrifying and overwhelming need to take action. Keep an eye on your own anxiety, levels of frustration, assertiveness, and anger. Do not get behind the wheel of a car, use power tools, or sharp utensils without checking your emotional state. Pay attention.

Early this morning Mercury leaves Aries behind and enters Taurus; that is the gift of this day.

With Mars so worked up around the Cardinal Grand Cross the last thing in the world we need is Mars ruling Mercury (Mercury in Aries)! Mercury entering Taurus will settle our minds a bit and for now every little bit is tremendously helpful.

I look forward to future days when there’s very little to write about! Remember those days of sitting in the garden and reading a book without concern? Those days are not today.

The Aquarius Moon makes her final aspect, a Square to Saturn at 2:11 PM EDT. The Moon is VOC for the rest of the day.

Thursday, April 24, 2014:

Moon enters Pisces while we sleep on Thursday morning and makes lovely aspects throughout the day. If you can find a moment in the middle of this wild week to rest, dream, and contemplate the softer side of life; this is the day. From here on out the Cardinal Grand Cross will begin to lighten as Mars and Jupiter move along their way! That does not mean an end to the intensification. Uranus and Pluto will continue to work away at each other!

But it does mean we have reached the peak and now we can begin to make sense out of where we find ourselves. And where do you find yourself? Are you clear on where these weeks have brought you? What has changed internally and externally in your life? We are on a different path. Do not try to go back; the old way of life is no longer viable.

Friday, April 25, 2014:

The Moon is in Pisces all day on Friday bringing us a softly gentle emotional day. We begin with a Trine between Venus and Saturn helping us to stabilize the intensification of what has been swirling around through our lives over these past weeks. Venus Trine Saturn offers a stable quiet beauty. Focus on stabilizing your relationships, consider, strengthen, and clarify your internal values, your finances, and your love relationships. By the end of the day the Sun and Mercury conjunct a 5° Taurus; we seek stability as we ache for peace, graciousness, and solid ground. The Moon’s last Aspect while in Pisces is a Conjunction to Venus at 4:03 PM EDT. Following this the Moon is happily VOC until she enters Aries early tomorrow morning. We are offered the potential of a soft evening of harmony and pleasure. Rest with music, poetry, a glass of wine; the ocean or another body of water may call. Allow love to soften the edges of your heart.

Saturday, April 26, 2014:

The Moon enters Aries early Saturday morning, making no major aspects throughout the day. Ah. What can we expect from such a day? Mercury Sextiles  Neptune early this afternoon. This is a day made for declarations of love and beauty; writing poetry or making music. Our conversations or our thinking are filled with idealism, hope for the future, possibly delusion or soft imagination. Get out of town. Go on an adventure. Let go.

Sunday, April 27, 2014:

Sunday the Aries Moon taps all the planets in the Cardinal Grand Cross! On an emotional level we may feel edgy, irritable, and we very likely feel a powerful need to take strong action on some situation. Observe carefully what you are creating for your future. Take note of what we talked about at the beginning of this week. Remember: the three most important things at this time are: be aware of your surroundings (outside yourself and within yourself), work on increasing your level of self-care/ self-friendliness, and offer deep heartfelt kindness to others. Keep working with this. We will be ready to accept where we find ourselves before we know it!
