Monday, February 20, 2017:

The Sagittarius Moon is having conversations of excitement and ease with assertive Mars, conversational Mercury, revolutionary Uranus, and expansive Jupiter! All of this before noon!

Please, get up early and get on with this day. There is great activity and shifting perspectives will be available. This should be a great morning for planning or implementing a road trip or in some way expanding your world-view.

Given all the activity and excitement, do keep your feet firmly anchored on the ground. At 6:37 PM EST, you may encounter restriction or have to face reality on an issue you were hoping to avoid.

As you are heading toward sleep on Monday night, you may be blindsided by excitement or anxiety. You may receive a message, hear or read something that activates your thinking in a way that makes falling asleep challenging!

If there is a conversation that you need to have or something you need to research, you may as well stay up late.

Some idea or conversation is offered that may change the fabric of your thinking over the coming weeks. At 11:01 PM EST, Mercury, the planet that represents our thoughts and communication forms a sextile aspect to Uranus, the awakener. Perhaps, there is something that needs to be released unexpectedly in order for deeper understanding and a new idea to be birthed in late March.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:37 PM EST until she enters have Capricorn at 2:07 AM EST in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

Tuesday, February 21, 2017:

When you wake on Tuesday, the Moon is in ambitious Capricorn encouraging you to engage in mature, responsible activities. The serious Capricorn Moon stabilizes the idealism of Pisces as a sextile aspect forms between the Moon and the Sun (in Pisces) at 8:16 AM EST. Get to work early and plan on making great strides of accomplishment. You have the stamina to maintain a powerful work ethic and focus throughout Tuesday.

Keep exerting pressure on the focused maturity of your effort.

At 1:27 PM EST, a flowing trine aspect forms between mental Mercury and expansive Jupiter. Think back to an idealistic view or idea that began to take hold between August and October of 2016. That idea has been mightily challenged, has had space to grow, and now flourishes. Open your mind to idealism and hope.

Wednesday, February 22, 2017:

Please keep in mind that fighting battles that you have no control over the outcome and simply cannot win will simply drain you and leave you mentally and emotionally vulnerable.

A square aspect formed between two plants represents a challenge. The energies of the two plants involved are working at cross-purposes. On Wednesday, a square aspect forms between aggressive Mars and obsessive Pluto. This holds a powerful shadow over much of the week, but watch most closely for it on Wednesday.

Understand that this suggests a high potential for conflict, anger, and power struggles.

Consider where you can best direct your warrior spirit. Make a constructive difference in your world with this powerful energy. Dynamic Mars squares the hidden forces of coercive Pluto at 4:02 AM EST.

Focus your attention on what you can change. Go inward and get clear about your responsibilities and consciously consider where you can direct your energy for the greater good of all. Beating your head against the wall is not useful; try gathering like-minded folks together to discuss current events.

The start of this cycle was on October 19, 2016. Watch the political drama that is playing out!

The Capricorn Moon takes everything seriously and also forms difficult aspects to angry Mars, unsettling Uranus, and powerful Pluto. This is a challenging day, use it well, and with respect and caution.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 10:24 PM EST until she enters Aquarius at 12:18 PM EST on Thursday afternoon. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

Thursday, February 23, 2017:

Thursday morning, you will most likely still be in the grip of the challenges that Wednesday’s aspect of Mars square Pluto brought. Don’t miss your daily meditation practice. It will serve you well.

At 12:18 PM EST, the Moon (the holder of our ‘feeling nature’) enters unemotional Aquarius. This will bring the relief of a cool detachment. Any emotional intensity held over from Wednesday can now wash away, being replaced with a more intellectual, detached perspective.

Aquarius allows us to see the world objectively enabling us to plan accordingly. We see the big picture as we plan humanitarian rebellion. Watch what is happening around the world. There is instability that demands that we each look at the bigger picture and join together with others to plan accordingly.

Mercury (currently in Aquarius) is the planet of thinking and communicating. At 4:45 PM EST, Mercury sextile serious Saturn. A sextile aspect is an opportunity.

Generally speaking, we want to say yes to the opportunities that a sextile presents. This opportunity is one of speaking your mind. If there is something you need to say, now is the time to say it. This is a wonderful aspect for writers, speakers, or anyone who has something to say!

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Aquarius at 12:18 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

Friday, February 24, 2017:

Finally, we come to a day that offers simplicity.  The Moon continues through objective and rebellious Aquarius. Your ideas and emotions continue their focus on the needs of the larger culture. When the Moon is in Aquarius, we are able to see outside of ourselves to the issues that impact humanity at large.

At 10:41 AM EST, when the Moon forms a sweet sextile to lovely Venus, the planet of beauty and love, our hearts open to the harshness in the state of our world. You are able to see into the eyes of those less fortunate and seek ways to be of help.

Your task for Friday is to find an avenue to direct your attention, efforts, and money to help the world outside of your little personal bubble.

Saturday February 25, 2017:

Get up early on Saturday morning and gather together with friends or family. This is a lovely day with positive aspects to assertive Mars, unusual Uranus, expansive Jupiter, and stabilizing Saturn. You will be able to get a lot accomplished or simply have a lot of fun during the bulk of the day.

Things change when, at 6:07 PM EST, mental Mercury follows the Sun into dreamy, mystical Pisces and the Moon follows on its heels at 7:25 PM EST. We now have a serious pile-up of planets in sensitive Pisces.  With our focus on the surreal Pisces energy, you may struggle to understand what is nearly unknowable.

What is under the surface of your life that you cannot quite see? Perhaps, it shows up as a vague shadow. What are you unable to see clearly? Taking time in meditation over the coming days will be highly valuable.

We are also in the Dark of the Moon as we approach the New Moon and Solar Eclipse which will be exact on Sunday morning. Go inward for understanding; there is more intensity right around the corner. It is important to strengthen your soul’s purpose and direction.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:12 PM EST until she enters Pisces at 7:25 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

Sunday, February 26, 2017:

Sunday is a significant day! First, we have the New Moon and Solar Eclipse at 9:59 AM EST. You may feel plunged into darkness and confusion. Do not despair. Keep your eyes open, allow inspiration and transcendent mysteries to be revealed. It may be difficult to see fantasy from reality so allow yourself to hold a soft focus.

This is not a day to make solid decisions, and not a day to allow yourself to get lost in confusion or escape. Hold steady. Spend time in meditation, creating art, listening to music, or opening your heart to compassion.

Eclipses open new doorways, they can put our feet on a new and unexpected pathway. Life can change on a dime.

Accentuating all of that is the conjunction between Mars and Uranus at 7:19 PM EST. This begins a two-year cycle of assertive, revolutionary change. This aspect occurs at 22° Aries. To understand where in your personal life this change, begin by looking to where 22° Aries falls in your natal chart. If you want to understand more about your personal chart, please contact me for a consultation ( You will learn a great deal about yourself and your path forward.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transits between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Astrology Weather Forecast – Sun enters Pisces this Week: February 17, 2014 – February 23, 2014

Last week as the Moon moved through the signs of Cancer, Leo, and Virgo we were likely to be emotionally focused inward, with the inclusion of others.

This week we bring our focus into the world and into relation with others. As the Moon moves through the signs of Libra, Scorpio, and Sagittarius we encounter the ‘Other’. We will do well to contemplate the impact others have on our lives, and the impact we have on the lives of others.

This is a highly significant week as the Sun leaves the altruistic, humanitarian sign of Aquarius and moves inward to the deep emotional waters of Pisces.

Yes! The Sun enters Pisces on Tuesday afternoon. Say goodbye to the sparkles of sudden brilliance of Aquarius and greet the deep intuition of Pisces. This week has an overdose of Pisces energy as the Sun joins with Neptune as well. Pay attention to your intuition, while being aware that things may well not be as they seem!

Monday, February 17, 2014:

The week begins with the moon VOC* in Virgo. The final aspect to the Moon being a Sextile to Saturn shortly after midnight on Sunday night. You will likely begin Monday morning with a strong sense of having a great deal to accomplish and yet not quite feeling able to get out of our own way to accomplish it. Allow that to be okay. It will be a good morning for research and organization.

When the Moon enters Libra at 1:23 PM EST, ending the VOC period, the day lightens up. We feel more able to connect with and enjoy those around us. Whatever the situations you encounter, you can see both sides of the coin, and are able to step forward to offer a diplomatic outlook and balanced assistance to others.

Tuesday, February 18, 2014:

Tuesday is the day that begins the Month with The Sun in Pisces! Prepare for a time of soft contact with another realm of mystical understanding.
In the morning The Moon Opposes Uranus and later in the day she Squares Pluto. This is a day of extremes. We feel the need to pull ourselves out of whatever places in our lives we feel stuck. We may feel frustration with the fact that we are stuck at all. This will be a great day to work with patience.

At 12:59 PM EST The Sun leaves Aquarius and heads into the soft, spacious, mystical waters of Pisces. You may miss the shark, sharp, brilliance of Aquarius; and yet, you also understand the need to step forth into the mystical, dreamy land of Pisces. This will make the agitation of Uranus Square Pluto a bit easier to contend with. For the next month you will have the opportunity to work with intuition, imagination, and spirituality.

Imagine yourself laying on the bottom of a small boat, rocked by gentle waves, looking into the depth of the night sky. Allow yourself to float. Feel the energy of Pisces.

Wednesday, February 19, 2014:

Mercury, being retrograde in Aquarius, Squares Saturn very early on Wednesday morning. You may wake up with the thought that there is some commitment that you need to make. You are being asked repeatedly, due to the retrograde, to make some sort of a commitment or to take something in your life more seriously. Look to the place of 23degrees Aquarius and 23degrees Scorpio; where do those points fall in your chart? What are you being asked to commit to?

At 4:51 PM EST The Moon goes VOC* following a Conjunction to Mars in Libra. Pay attention to your level of internal agitation or aggression. An extra meditation session may be the best thing to do before you prepare your evening meal!

The Moon enters Scorpio at 10:33 PM EST, ending the VOC* period and offering us an emotionally intense encounter before bed time. If you head to bed alone or avoid that intensity, you most likely will encounter it in your dreams!

Thursday, February 20, 2014:

Thursday is a deeply emotional and deeply private day. What was the commitment you were being asked to make yesterday? Is there something involved with that commitment that is weighing heavily on your mind? Are you ready to make that commitment? Is it being pushed upon you? Is it something you know you need to do and yet don’t want to or are resisting?

Let the stress go. Allow yourself the freedom of simply opening to the sensitivity of your imagination and indecision. You are not yet seeing the full picture. Keep your mind open and your heart open. If this is, in fact, the right commitment for you, there will be an inspired and intangible shift. Wait for it.

Friday, February 21, 2014:

Here we are a few days into The Sun in Pisces! This is not an easy adjustment! The intensity of these few days reflects the change from the unconventional detachment of Aquarius to the empathy and sensitivity of Pisces. It is a profound shift.

Do not underestimate the amount of adjustment it takes to move from the brilliant intellectual energy of Aquarius to this incredibly imaginative, mystical, spiritual energy we have entered.

For today work on enjoying the depth of Water, emotion, inspiration, and sensitivity. Look into your own individual dark emotional corners this evening; possibly the ones that involve that commitment issue.

The Moon is in Scorpio all day going VOC* at 5:10 PM EST following a Conjunction to Saturn. Once again you are being asked to look at your personal issues of responsibility, authority, and discipline.

Saturday, February 22, 2014:

Yay! Saturday morning we wake up to an easier and lighter emotional environment! Before we get up this morning The Moon has entered Sagittarius, uplifting our energy considerably. The Moon reaches her Third-Quarter Cycle at 3° Sagittarius at 12:15 PM EST. This is a great Saturday evening to spend in public enjoying social connections.

I remember a cartoon about Sagittarius coming to a cross road where s/he had to choose between seeking enlightenment or going to a party. This very well may reflect your choice for the weekend! Do you reach for new awareness, for an expanded understanding of yourself, and your place in the world; or do you head out to enjoy a party, expanding your social connections and fun? Whichever you choose, make it a conscious choice and Enjoy!! If there is no pleasure or expansion involved, you have probably not made the right choice!

Sunday, February 23, 2014:

Sunday begins a New Cycle between The Sun and Neptune. This brings your attention to your spirituality and your connection with that which is mystical in your life; that which is unseen. This is not the time to make firm decisions about practical realities. This is a time to explore new spiritual directions, new imaginative projects, and new ways to explore the world beyond the realms of solid reality or ordinary existence.

Because this is a Cycle of the Sun, it is approximately a One Year Cycle. In order for one Cycle to begin the previous one must end. The Cycle ending now began on February 21, 2013. What began in your life at that time has now come to an end. The New Cycle begins! This Cycle involves something intangible: Spirituality, Imagination, Inspiration, something Elusive and hard to put your finger on!

The Moon is in Sagittarius all day. Explore exotic ideas and cultures, contemplate travel, and new explorations of the mind.
A lovely note to end the week on!

* In my weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

7 Ways to Enjoy Sun in Pisces!

The inventive, unconventional energy we have had at our disposal while the SUN has been passing through AQUARIUS will be gone for another year as the SUN ENTERS PISCES at 1:17AM Sunday morning.

PISCES is a mutable water sign, indicating its depth and adaptability. PISCES is also the last of the three signs of Winter, and brings with it the opportunity to approach the world in a deep, dreamy, and passive manner.

We still have time before Spring demands a lot of action in the outside world, so how do we utilize the energy that the PISCES SUN provides?

1.  Forget the whole issue of ambition!

Allow ambition to take a vacation and allow chunks of time this month to be devoted to spacey confusion. Don’t beat yourself up for it! Enjoy it!

2.  Turn  confusion into fantasy and escapism!

If you’ve never played fantasy games, read fantasy novels or watched science fiction movies, now would be a great time. Reality has its place but don’t hold it too tightly for the next 30 days!

3.  Go ahead! Put on those rose-colored glasses!

Allow yourself to enjoy the view. We don’t always need to face reality. Sometimes it is just fine to take a whimsical approach.

4.  Make art!

Perhaps you have never picked up a paint brush, cut paper for collage, or worked clay in your hands. Try it this month! You may be surprised at the level of inspiration you attain.

5.  Transend the world through imagination, music, movies!

Find your personal favorite way to escape and allow yourself time to enjoy the gentle feel of illusion. Regardless of what you have been told, there is great benefit in taking time to release our grasp on the solid world and let go into the intangible!

6.  Take up meditation!

Work with life from a mystical or spiritual dimension. Open your mind to places of depth and inspiration.

7.  Contemplate all the suffering you have experienced or seen in your life.

Once you have opened your heart to your own suffering you are ready to feel true compassion for others! That is the true message of PISCES.

Enjoy this time of deep water, deep emotion. Soon enough Aries will bring Fire back into play!

Shifting Spirit, Neptune in Pisces

Today the big news is NEPTUNE ENTERING PISCES where she will reside for the next 14 years. Neptune spent some time in Pisces last year between April and August before retrograding back into Aquarius where she has been tying up loose ends until today.

Each sign has a ruling planet, for PISCES, that planet is NEPTUNE which simply means that the two have much in common. NEPTUNE feels this movement into PISCES as a homecoming.

Neptune moves very slowly. The last time Neptune entered Pisces was in 1848, very shortly after its discovery. It takes 165 years for Neptune to circle the entire zodiac! It is an uncommon occurrence for this outer planet to change signs! None of us, alive today, have had the opportunity to experience this placement, it is completely outside of our experience.

What can we expect?

The outer planets work on a generational and a cultural level more than on a personal level (although depending on your personal chart, this can certainly affect you on a very personal level, indeed!).

It is difficult to clearly understand what this type of movement will mean in our lives, in our cultures and in our world. The outer planets bring sweeping changes to our collective consciousness. With Neptune these changes will be deep although perhaps subtle. Neptune is often referred to as the higher octave of Venus. Neptune brings us an expanded level of sensitivity, imagination, a lack of boundaries, sometimes bewilderment, idealism, deep suffering and compassion. Neptune presents us with the need/desire to find an alternative reality. Think of all the things that take us away from the hard realities of our human life.  At this time these are the issues with take on more importance in our lives!

Poetry. Prayer. Drugs. Alcohol. Dreams. Love. Mysticism. Religion. Music. Ecstatic Dance. Film. Escape. Devotion. Imagination. Deep Suffering which, ideally, will result in Deep Compassion.

For good or for ill, all the places where we lose our sense of boundaries are a part of the Neptune vibration. Neptune can bring us to a level of suffering and a level of ecstasy that can drop us to our knees. It is through this suffering and ecstasy that we finally come (often times kicking and screaming) to a place of self-transcendence and spiritual awakening.

I believe that at this time we, as a collective, are fed up with the traditional experience that we have been fed of religion and religious belief.  We have seen the dark side of organized religion.  I expect that there will be an increase in belief, but a different kind of belief, a spirituality that may come from a place we are not yet aware of. Watch for new directions of spirit and mysticism, new directions of music and film as well. We, as a human species, will find new ways to escape our mundane lives. I wonder about new medications or drugs coming on the scene and new directions for the conversation of death in our culture. How will our attitudes toward the end of life change over the next 14 yeas?

I am so curious to watch these things!

I expect that we will collectively move into levels of deep suffering and ultimately to a place where we will see the wisdom and necessity of compassion and empathy for our fellow humans on this path of life.  I suspect that we will search to find a connection within ourselves and to each other that will bring meaning to our lives. I am hopeful that we will learn to care for each other in many ways that have been so long neglected.

We may learn to understand the suffering that is inherent in all humans’ life – the suffering of birth, old age, sickness and death. Perhaps as we understand that human suffering is universal we may finally learn the depth of compassion that will enable us to truly serve and help each other.

Knowing where Neptune is moving in your personal chart at this time can help you to work with the energies of the universe in your life!

Optimistic Ideas, Temporarily Blocked

With the MOON IN PISCES until 9:51PM EDT last night, we likely spent yesterday in a bit of a fog, unable to focus or really keep our minds on whatever we were trying to accomplish.  Or perhaps we used the energy well, in some sort of mystical, compassionate or spiritual endeavor, making music or playing in fantasy! If our day was based in more grounded pursuits than these, it may have been a struggle.

Last night at 9:51PM the MOON left those idealistic and sensitive waters of PISCES for impulsive, dynamic ARIES where she will spend the next few days.

Whatever sign the MOON is in creates the general emotional mood, or environment of the day.

With THE MOON IN ARIES, our interactions with others can heat up quickly, we may be short-tempered or impatient, we are also more energetic, independent and courageous than at other times. During an ARIES MOON it would be best not to assume that those around will be passive or willing to be pushed around, or to take the short end of the stick!  During these times we may be surprised by an aggressive or combative streak we didn’t know we, or someone else had.

With the SUN CONJUNCT MERCURY (still retrograde) IN SAGITTARIUS  today there is a strong focus on communication and the sharing of information. Our thoughts are on hopeful and optimistic solutions to our current situations.  We are also functioning under a FIRST QUARTER MOON indicating the need to take the first steps in a project whose seed was planted at the NEW MOON (November 25th).

Adding to the communication issues of the day MERCURY SQUARE MARS (VIRGO).  Our optimistic ideas and expansive thinking may have gotten ahead of our energy, determination or ability to act on those thoughts. We see where we want to go but are not yet ready to, able to, or are somehow blocked from take the steps that are necessary to put these ideas into action. This may result in frustration and a possible sence of self defeat.

It is important that we honor the process of our thinking right now and pace ourselves in action. I know how hard that can be with the ARIES energy breathing down our neck! … But slow down, do some research. For now it is important to build on our ability to exercise patience.

Take what steps are necessary to ensure that our frustration does not cause a breakdown in communications with others.  We will need others (the entire community) to be part of this project when the time is right.

Are you at a crossroad in your life? Are your circumstances other than what you expected?

We can meet for an individual consultations (Burlington, Vermont), by telephone, or on SKYPE!
