Watch your mental (Mercury) and physical (Mars) energies this week!

A Jest by Thomas Cooper Gotch via SightsWithin

Mercury, an inner planet responsible for our communication, thinking, perception, and understanding, forms highly challenging aspects to multiple planets. These transits may be intended to shift your attention. These Mercury aspects may bring you a new understanding of how you currently use your voice and how you may want or need to change your manner of communication. They may even ask you to change what you are thinking about!
Mars, an inner planet that facilitates our direct physical energy, assertiveness, and anger, is also active this week. On Monday, your ability to assert yourself with courage helps a dream move forward toward reality. On Sunday, it will be prudent to be aware of the tendency toward an expression of anger that is best avoided. Please pay attention to your own internal triggers and keep out of the range of your own anger.

DREAMS DO COME TRUE
Monday, June 26, 2017:
The combination of active planetary cycles on Monday allow for a lovely day of creativity and imagination. Mars, the planet of action, forms a supportive trine aspect to Neptune, the planet of dreams and inspiration, while we sleep early on Monday morning. This will remain with us throughout the day.
The cycle between Mars and Neptune began on the first day of January, 2017. This is a cycle of bringing strength and determination to your dreams. Look back at any resolutions you made at the New Year! You may be surprised to see that your dream is alive and moving in exactly the right direction. J
With the Moon in playful, expressive Leo and forming a lovely sextile aspect to expansive Jupiter at 4:43 PM EDT, you may want to shout your good news from the rooftops. Go ahead and do that!

SHIFTING BELIEFS & UNDERSTANDING
Tuesday, June 27, 2017:
Tuesday will bring us to an active, playful, and highly interesting day.
With the Moon in dramatic, expressive Leo, your energy is stabilized by a trine aspect to dutiful Saturn at 9:38 AM EDT.
Gaining clarity on your responsibilities is helpful when thoughtful Mercury forms a challenging square to idealistic Jupiter (at 2:20 PM EDT) asking you to question certain fundamental beliefs you hold regarding intimacy and relationship.
At 5:11 PM EDT, your eyes may open to a new perspective that could completely shift your understanding.
Later, as logical Mercury forms a supportive trine aspect to mystical Neptune at 8:22 PM EDT, your mind is encouraged to embrace a new understanding of a long anticipated dream. Indeed, please remember that dreams do come true.
At 8:42 PM EDT, with the Moon entering meticulous Virgo, you will want to get a good night’s sleep to face a more practical, industrious day on Wednesday.
The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:11 PM EDT until she enters Virgo at 8:42 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SPEAK WITH CONSCIOUS INTENT
Wednesday, June 28, 2017:
The analytical Virgo Moon forms a delightful sextile aspect to the intuitive Cancer Sun at 9:04 AM EDT. This makes us feel inspiring, gracious, and sweet. This is a great start to the day.
However, Wednesday afternoon could bring difficult or demanding conversations as mental Mercury conjoins with aggressive Mars (at 15° Cancer) at 3:50 PM EDT. With your thinking and your need for direct, unapologetic action coming together in moody Cancer, it is important that you find a way to manage aggravation and frustration without it spilling over onto others and leaving a big mess to later clean up!
Your first choice should be to practice patience and kindness with yourself and others. There may well be important things that must be said. If you choose to speak out on Wednesday, pay attention to the words that you use and the manner of your delivery. Blurting out the truth as you see it will very likely come back to bite you.
Don’t expect it to be easy but make a solid effort to say what must be said with clear and conscious intent.

EXPLORING DARKNESS

Thursday, June 29, 2017:
Thursday’s dedicated, hard-working Virgo Moon forms a difficult square aspect to restrictive Saturn at 2:52 PM EDT. Are you working too hard? Are you or someone in authority holding you to a standard that feels beyond your ability?
With an opposition between communicative Mercury and power-hungry Pluto exact at 8:35 PM EDT, any resentment that formed early in the day could get ugly. Pay attention to power dynamics and do your best to sidestep manipulation, coercion, and other underhanded attempts at control.
Make sure your connections with others are of the highest integrity.
Spend the evening in deep study or intense conversation with trusted, respected equals. Much understanding can come from an exploration of darkness and hidden forces. Make sure your words are constructive and that your intention is to help each other understand issues of depth and significance.
If you began a study or an important conversation in late January, the results of the seed planted at that time will be clear now. Look for it.
The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:35 PM EDT until she enters Libra in the wee hours (3:03 AM EDT) of Friday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SENSITIVITY AND CHARM
Friday, June 30, 2017:
When you wake up on Friday morning, the Moon will be in graceful Libra. You can anticipate spending the weekend seeking harmony, cooperation, and diplomacy in social situations and intimate relationships.
This brings us to a weekend of community engagement and romantic encounters. Don’t spend the weekend alone. Find friends for pleasurable activities or go to a nice restaurant, not the dive downtown or your ‘regular haunt’. Go somewhere with tablecloths and candles, or invite a few friends over and pull out your best china and create an environment of refinement and beauty.
Create a space of allure, charm, pleasure, and romance.
At 8:52 PM EDT, we come to the First Quarter Moon with the Sun in emotional Cancer and the Moon in graceful Libra. Love and pleasure must be combined with deep sensitivity and maternal tenderness. Can you embrace all this sweetness and charm?

DEEP HEALING
Saturday, July 1, 2017:
Chiron is a comet, which in astrology symbolizes deep wounds and the push to heal those wounds. At 3:09 AM EDT, Chiron turns retrograde opening a five-month window to work deeply with your healing process. Look to 28° or 29° Pisces in your natal chart for the house (area of your life) that is being activated.
If you have planets in the last degrees of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces), you will be pushed particularly hard to work on your path of healing. If you have been avoiding working with deep long-standing wounds in your life, this is the time to meet them head on. This is a good time to finally work with an astrologer to see your situation from the amazing perspective of the greater universe (Yes, Astrolore is taking new clients; contact me today.)
The normally social and charming Libra Moon does not have an easy run of it on Saturday. Issues of anger, frustration, and power dynamics could get in the way as the Moon forms challenging square aspects to impulsive Mars, subversive Pluto, and perceptive Mercury.
Do your best on Saturday to maintain inner balance and equanimity. Work to show kindness to others and don’t forget to focus on your own self-care.

INERTIA BECOMES EMPOWERMENT
Sunday, July 2, 2017:
The Libra Moon is VOC* (void of course) until 1:00 PM EDT on Sunday afternoon.
Let’s take this opportunity to review what that means. When the Moon is Void of Course (VOC), she has made her final major aspect to another planet while in one sign. The Moon then makes no more major aspects to other planets before she leaves that sign to enter the next. It is a phenomenon of the transiting Moon.
A VOC Moon tends to leave us with a sense of inertia. It is prudent not to start anything that you have important expectations of during these times. It is best to focus on mundane activities, things that must be done but aren’t expected to have significant long-term impact.
With that in mind, keep a low profile on Sunday morning. Sleep late, read the paper, rest.
At 1:00 PM EDT, the Moon enters Scorpio bringing intensity and depth to the rest of the day. You will want to connect with others but with none of the “wanting to make it look pretty” of Libra! Now, there is a powerful desire to delve deeply into profound emotions and to uncover what is hidden beneath the surface.
Avoid manipulation and allow for vulnerability. Extreme depth of connection is available; spend the day alone if that is not what you are looking for.
The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:17 AM EDT until she enters Scorpio at 1:00 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

A PLAYFUL, FUN EVENING
Monday, May 29, 2017:
When you begin the day on Monday, do your best to shake off the frustration and possible judgmental tendencies that are reflected in the opposition from agitated Mars to somber Saturn at 2:54 AM EDT.
This transit calls your attention back to late August of 2016 when these two planets joined together to begin a cycle of energizing and taking action on your responsibilities. What did you begin at that time that embodied serious action or effort? The cycle began at 9 degrees Sagittarius (on August 24, 2016); where does that fall in your chart? Now you are able to see how well you managed the hard work and responsibilities necessary.
When the Moon enters blithe Leo at 8:11 AM EDT, you are ready to let go of resentments, grievances, or dissatisfaction. It is time to enjoy a cheerful, frisky, and playful day. The Leo Moon forms a sweet sextile aspect to the chatty Gemini Sun just as you are wrapping up the day. If you have a playmate, make the effort to enjoy a good-natured lively romp, with lots of laughter, before sleep.
The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:58 AM EDT until 8:11 AM EDT when she enters Leo. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

UNUSUAL ACTION
Tuesday, May 30, 2017:
Tuesday begins with an early morning sextile from the Moon in spirited Leo to expansive Jupiter who is still in cooperative Libra. You feel positive and generous toward your loved ones and are ready to face the day with a smile.
You may struggle later in the day when the Moon forms a challenging square aspect to Mercury (the planet of the mind) in stable Taurus. There may be a disagreement between those who are feeling playfully creative and those who want to build something solid and lasting. Who gets the last word? Allow each other to hold very different ideas and opinions; accommodate each other even if it seems counterintuitive. The payoff will be well worth it.
At 10:39 PM EDT, ‘take no prisoners’ Mars forms a sextile aspect to revolutionary and unpredictable Uranus. This brings the suggestion of excitement and the possibility of unusual and sudden action. Did you begin an unusual development in the last week of February 2017? If you can identify what began then, you will know what you want to pay attention to now.
Explore unusual ideas; an opportunity is presented and you should take the initial steps that will bring about great change in early December of 2017. Thinking beyond ourselves, we can see possibilities here regarding our political dilemmas.

MORNING FLOW – AFTERNOON EFFORT

Mrs Langtry by Edward Poynter via SightsWithin

Wednesday, May 31, 2017:
The word of the day is flow, defined as, “to move along steadily and continuously in a current.” Allow your life, drive, and communications to flow steadily forward on Wednesday. There is no need to push or try to control the direction of any project or communication, simply allow it to happen.
The day begins with a trine (flowing) aspect from the playful Leo Moon to stable Saturn and excitable Uranus forming a Grand Trine. A grand trine is a planetary pattern composed of three or more planets located at the apex of an imaginary equilateral triangle. In the case of this Grand Trine, the planets involved are all in the element of Fire, bringing enthusiasm and creativity to the table. This is a harmonious and stable configuration.
Further increasing the positivity of the day, Mercury, the planet of communication and thought processes, also forms an easy trine aspect to powerful Pluto (8:02 AM EDT) allowing your conversations and written communications to be easily expressed and understood. If you have an important issue that needs to be discussed, questions to ask, or something that must be revealed, this is the day to allow it to come naturally and simply into the conversation.
If there is something that you need to reveal but would rather it not have much impact, have the conversation before 12:15 PM EDT. Have the talk after 12:15 PM EDT, if you want what you say to make a difference going forward.
At 12:15 PM EDT, the Moon enters industrious, efficient Virgo inviting us to settle into an afternoon of productive work. Put in the effort and you will accomplish a great deal. However, keep your expectations reasonable. You don’t want to end up beating yourself up at the end of the day because you didn’t accomplish everything! Whatever you get done is GOOD ENOUGH! Give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done.
The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:14 AM EDT until she enters Virgo at 12:15 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*m there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

STABILITY AND GRACE
Thursday, June 1, 2017:
Thursday begins with the meticulous Virgo Moon forming the First Quarter Moon phase to the chatty Gemini Sun. This may pit your industrious dedication to work against your desire for simple social connections. Should you get your work done or go out and chat over coffee with a friend? Not always an easy decision on a day like this!
At 11:23 AM EDT, you will find it easier to settle on one direction or the other as Venus, the planet of pleasure and social graces, forms a flowing trine aspect to Saturn, the planet of responsibility and determination. Whatever choice you make will deliver stable benefits and grace under this influence. You can bring beauty and style to your work or responsibility and structure to your social interactions.
At 2:15 PM EDT, when the Moon opposes elusive Neptune you will want to take a break to meditate or simply daydream. Allow compassion to color your interactions with others as you move into the evening hours.

BEST BET: VULNERABILITY
Friday, June 2, 2017:
The day begins with action-oriented Mars in flighty Gemini forming an uncomfortable square to Chiron, the planet of deep wounding. You may feel tired and unsure of your ability to function, given the reality of deep personal trauma. Troublesome conversations may feel initially excruciating, however, do not avoid these conversations. Allowing deep vulnerability has the potential to bring powerful healing under this influence.
Friday’s Virgo Moon is not feeling as helpful or friendly as she did on Thursday. First, she squares melancholy Saturn at 11:22 AM EDT, followed by another challenging square to impulsive, angry Mars at 5:49 PM EDT.  This can easily be expressed in hurt feelings and defensiveness. Again, your best bet is to allow yourself to be open and amenable, to not jump to your own defense but simply let the moment pass. Three deep cleansing breaths will bring you back to equilibrium.
At 8:04 PM EDT, the Moon enters Libra bringing your attention to the need for interdependence and graceful cooperation.
The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:49 PM EDT until she enters Libra at 8:04 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

ANTICIPATION – EXCITEMENT – JOY
Saturday, June 3, 2017:
While we slept (at 3:31 AM EDT), harmonious Venus joined with defiant, inspirational Uranus at 27 degrees Aries. This is the beginning of a cycle of anticipation, excitement, or breakdown regarding love, resources, and beauty (all Venus issues). If nothing new is possible, breakdown is inevitable.
Plant a seed to grow with non-conformity in love, originality in beauty, or inspiration toward the growth or use of money and resources. This ends the cycle of these same issues that began on April 22, 2016. Whatever began then now completes, allowing an entirely new direction or simply an upgrade to a higher level of expression.
At 12:12 PM EDT, the all-powerful Sun forms a flowing trine aspect to expansive Jupiter allowing you to see your life from an extraordinarily larger than life perspective. Look for experiences in the everyday that open your heart to joy, wisdom, and optimism.
Throughout the day, the Moon continues through lovely Libra forming positive aspects along the way to both Jupiter and the Sun. Enjoy social connections that bring charm, romance, and diplomatic grace.

SLIPPERY ILLUSIONS
Sunday, June 4, 2017:
Don’t be surprised if you wake up Sunday morning surrounded by an air of confusion, bewilderment, or deep compassion toward others. At 12:13 PM EDT, the rational Gemini Sun forms a stressful square aspect to elusive Neptune. Your imagination is heightened and yet, it is slippery and illusory, making it not terribly workable. Spend time in meditation or simply listening to music and allowing yourself to dream.
At 12:15 PM EDT, Mars leaves perceptible, talkative Gemini behind and enters protective, inward Cancer. Mars, the planet of courage and initiative, is uncomfortable in any Water sign (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces), as he wants to take direct action with assertiveness to get what he wants. In Cancer, Mars is unable to take such an approach as he runs into issues of mood swings and touchiness. You may notice yourself tending more toward defensiveness and being overly protective toward those you love. Mars will remain in Cancer until he enters dramatic Leo on July 20, 2017.
The Libra Moon will assist you in maintaining balance throughout the day. At 9:22 PM EDT, as the Moon sextile Saturn, you can settle into a level headed stability and a good night’s sleep that will support you in moving into the coming week!

EXPRESS KINDNESS
Monday, May 1, 2017:
The week begins with a continued sense of sensitivity which held sway through most of last weekend. Getting up and out of bed on Monday morning may present a challenge. With the Moon continuing through sensitive, emotional, and moody Cancer, you may notice yourself either wearing your heart on your sleeve or trying desperately to hide that vulnerability.
The aspects formed by the tender Cancer Moon on Monday bring up the difficult and sometimes dark side of family and the connection we have to the past. This is a day to spend time in deep reflection. Sitting with a skilled therapist or a truly trusted friend may bring powerful insights to your most powerful inner processes.
Pay attention to how you treat others. Notice how you treat the waitress or the grocery store cashier. Make eye contact, offer a word of kindness, and acknowledge your shared humanity with that person. Everyone you encounter feels the same vulnerability that you recognize in yourself. Express kindness.
The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:23 PM EDT until shortly after midnight when she enters Leo. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

ENTHUSIASM & SELF-EXPRESSION
Tuesday, May 2, 2017:
When you wake up on Tuesday morning, you will notice that the sensitivity of the previous days are behind you. You are ready to get up and get started and ready to enter a day of self-expression and enthusiasm. Notice the areas in your life where you want to show up, to be seen as the truly authentic, fun person you know yourself to be. This is a day to allow your playful, creative expression to exert itself. However, bedtime may bring a different energy; you may feel less enthusiastic and even a bit low.
At 10:47 PM EDT, the playful Leo Moon forms a difficult square aspect to the stable Taurus Sun. This is the First Quarter Square of the Lunar Cycle.
Consider the seed that you planted at the New Moon on Wednesday, April 26th, now you can expect to encounter a restriction or blockage in that cycle. It is likely to be a relatively minor issue on the path; the important thing is to take a step forward to move beyond the restriction. What action needs to be taken to move your process in the direction you want to go? Consider that question as you fall asleep Tuesday night and you will have your answer and be ready to take action on Wednesday.

MOVING FORWARD – MERCURY DIRECT
Wednesday, May 3, 2017:
Oh, Happy Day!                                                                                                 At 12:33 PM EDT, Mercury, the planet that represents the way we think, communicate, and share information turns direct. Now, it is finally time to begin new projects, say what needs and wants to be said, and generally move forward more easily in every area of your life.
At 8:50 PM EDT, the Sun forms a lovely sextile aspect to dreamy Neptune. This offers an opportunity to engage deeply in intangible levels of imagination or mystical awareness. Take time to meditate, get lost in a good movie, music, or simply space out! Don’t hit the bottle or get lost in other unhealthy states of consciousness.
The dramatic Leo Moon forms a Grand Trine aspect configuration with unusual Uranus and hardworking Saturn late evening today/ early Thursday morning. This expands our understanding of both the enthusiastic excitement and the stable hard work necessary for the movement we need to continue moving forward.
Envision an enlightened future and commit to the requisite elbow grease.

DEDICATE YOURSELF TO SERVICE
Thursday, May 4, 2017:
When you get up on Thursday morning, you may be aware of the emotional shift that occurred while you slept. The Moon left playful Leo behind and entered competent, efficient Virgo at 5:47 AM EDT.
Thursday should provide you with a day to get a tremendous amount of work done, although you may need to remind yourself not to get too stuck in the details.
Mercury is now moving forward, the Moon is in dedicated hard-working Virgo, and there are no major aspects to get in the way of accomplishment. The work you do today must ultimately be in service to others. If you engage in too much self-focus, you may find yourself feeling fussy, critical, or judgmental of others. Keep an eye on that and get to work.
The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from shortly after midnight (12:35 AM EDT) until she enters Virgo at 5:47 AM EDT.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

PLAN FOR ACHIEVEMENT
Friday, May 5, 2017:
Friday brings another day of powerfully successful effort as the Moon continues through purposeful, devoted Virgo. You may want to get to the office early and plan to stay late!
At 10:15 AM EDT, the Virgo Moon forms a flowing trine aspect to the grounded Taurus Sun. Then, at 5:57 PM EDT, the Moon forms a trine to Pluto. This creates a powerful Grand Trine configuration in the practical Earth signs.
Set practical, productive goals and expect great achievement. You can expect powerful support for whatever goals you have set. Plan accordingly.

RELATIONSHIP CONSIDERATIONS
Saturday, May 6, 2017:
Saturday morning may find you having a difficult time pulling yourself away from the work mode you have been so engaged in over the past few days, or perhaps, you are simply recovering from all that work.
With the steadfast Virgo Moon forming a difficult square aspect to Saturn at 8:43 AM EDT, you may find it useful to accomplish various tasks early in the day or simply rest with the intention of conserving your energy.
You may feel that the day doesn’t really get started until the Moon shifts into harmonious, beauty seeking Libra at 2:21 PM EDT. The afternoon and evening are best spent with close, intimate partners in the service of beauty or simple connection. Go to a museum, create beauty in your home, or seek it in the world around you. Focus on consciously creating your closest relationships.
Consider your most intimate partnership to be separate from you or the other person, a separate entity that you each must love, care for, and take into consideration. Make a plan for Saturday night that will feed the needs of the relationship itself.
The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:43 AM EDT until she enters Libra at 2:21 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

HARMONIOUS CONNECTIONS
Sunday, May 7, 2017:
Sunday brings us to a day full of the potential of energized social interactions and inspired connections. At 11:57 PM EDT, the lovely Libra Moon forms a smooth trine to assertive Mars pushing you out into the world to meet up with your favorite intimates.
This is a lovely day for Sunday brunch. There is no reason to consider work, effort, to-do lists, or anything other than seeking harmonious connection. Create or enjoy aesthetic pleasures. If you didn’t go to a museum or art gallery on Saturday, make that a priority on Sunday.
Devote the day to romance, diplomatic cooperation, or charming socialization. Bring flowers home, open the windows, and bring beauty into your home and your heart.

PONDER THE PATH AHEAD
Monday, April 24, 2017:
On Monday, your mind is steady and directed toward completion of whatever is uppermost in your thoughts. In late November of 2016, Saturn and Mercury joined together with the intention of developing an idea, project, or plan. You have come a long way with that project, and with Mercury in retrograde motion, you have the time now to stabilize any issues that need to be smoothed out to support your forward motion of that project.
Find your “flow” and go forward with the least resistant path. You will have more opportunity to direct this project toward the end of April and the full vision will be clear in mid-June.
This is a day to consider your ideas and perspectives. It’s a good day for pondering alternatives and sharing your ideas with a companion. By taking these steps, you will gain clarity and understanding of the path ahead.
With the Moon in courageous Aries, you should feel self-assured and capable on Monday as well. All in all, a good day! Enjoy.

WITH EVENING COMES STABILIZATION
Tuesday, April 25, 2017:
Unless you get up very early in the morning, you will be able to avoid the power dynamics and problems that can result when the decisive Aries Moon squares controlling Pluto at 4:47 AM EDT.
It is less likely that you can avoid the anxiety that may arise mid afternoon when the strong-willed Aries Moon connects with innovative Uranus.
There are two things to remember about Moon transits with Uranus. First, you always want to keep in the forefront of your mind that Moon transits pass quickly and will not be disruptive unless we engage them in an inappropriate manner. Second, a transit of Uranus does not always manifest as anxiety, another likely expression is that of excitement. During this transit, you may see, understand, or experience something that changes your perspective significantly. This may cause anxiety or it may cause excitement.
At 5:54 PM EDT, the Moon, still in demanding Aries, forms a lovely trine aspect to unflinching Saturn allowing you a far more easygoing evening.
At 9:56 PM EDT, the Moon enters patient Taurus as she prepares for her monthly New Moon phase on Wednesday morning. Create a cozy nest and sleep well.
The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:54 PM EDT until she enters Taurus at 9:56 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that you begin. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

TAURUS NEW MOON SEEK COMFORT

Spring by Konstantin Pankov via Wikicommons

Wednesday, April 26, 2017:
Today’s New Moon is at 6° Taurus. A New Moon occurs when the Sun and Moon occupy the same degree of the zodiac. This makes the Moon invisible from our perspective on Earth.
Think of the lunar cycle as comparable to the life cycle of a plant. At the New Moon, a seed is planted. During the upcoming weeks, this seed grows and culminates its growth at the Full Moon. From there, as the Moon wanes and the plant decays brings us back to the next New Moon two weeks later. This is the cycle of birth, growth, full illumination, deterioration, and death. It is the cycle of all living things.

For the Taurus New Moon ritual, set an intention regarding the ability to steadfastly build or grow something. This is the perfect time to plant a garden or get plants started indoors.

If you know what house in your birth chart holds 6° Taurus, it will help you clarify what you need to begin at this point in the cycle. If you don’t have that information, simply go with your instinct of what area of your life needs stable and deliberate effort.

Don’t neglect this New Moon ritual. Keep it simple. Take a moment to write down what you wish to begin, create, or increase in this upcoming cycle. Have two candles available for this ritual. Light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are at this moment in time. Light the second candle as an aspiration of what you aspire to create. Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle. As you light the second candle, focus on drawing to you what you are creating, as you bring the two candles closer together. At the Full Moon in two weeks, bring them fully together and see the results of what you have created. Share this ritual with your friends and loved ones.

The Taurus New Moon suggests that you plant a seed of steadfast determination, reliability and conservative effort. Prepare yourself to grow in deliberate stability, comfort, and sensuality.

RELIABLE CONSISTENCY
Thursday, April 27, 2017:
On Thursday, the reliable and patient Taurus Moon encourages you to focus on creating comfort and calm both internally and in the outer world. Pay close attention and maintain a slow steady pace in all that you do and with everyone you encounter. Offer reliable consistency in your interactions with others.
This is a day to get or give a massage, cook a healthy meal, and support the sensual, earthy nature of life.
You may spend much of the day looking forward to the comfort and security of your bed and yet, at 9:38 PM EDT, when the Moon enters active, inquisitive Gemini, going to bed no longer calls you! Your mind moves more quickly and you want to converse with others or follow the activity of your mind. As much as possible, keep your mind calm; you may need to spend time in meditation to finally get to sleep. Friday your mind will accelerate in wildly quirky and inventive ways bringing us to an exciting and upbeat start to the weekend.
The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) for 20 minutes between 9:18 PM EDT until she enters Gemini at 9:38 PM EDT.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

CONFIDENCE AND INDIVIDUALITY
Friday, April 28, 2017:
Friday promises to be an active and energizing day. At 9:13 AM EDT, Venus leaves Pisces, a place where she took great pleasure in imagination and sensitivity and enters determined, bold, and courageous Aries. Venus represents social needs, love, money, and all that we value most dearly. Now, in Aries we find her seeking what she wants directly, decisively, and with bold confidence. If you are seeking more love, resources, or beauty in your life, Venus will support you in taking direct action between now and when she enters Taurus on June 6th.
At 10:49 AM EDT, perceptive Mercury, in its retrograde motion, makes direct contact with innovative Uranus. Combined with Venus’ current assertiveness in Aries, this enlivens your desire to break free from rules and limitations. You find yourself eager to express your independence and individuality. Keep your eyes and ears open for unconventional logic and unusual perspectives. Don’t be surprised if words come out of your own mouth that you are not expecting to hear. Don’t be surprised at what you hear from others.
At 10:36 PM EDT, there is a smooth flowing trine aspect between the clever Gemini Moon and optimistic Jupiter in Libra. You can anticipate adventures in social situations and encounters. Bring your most idealistic inquisitive and fun self into the world on Friday evening and have a great time.

SPARKLY TO SENSITIVE
Saturday, April 29, 2017:
Saturday will provide you with a great opportunity for stimulating conversations and interesting interactions. The chatty Gemini Moon forms fun sextile aspects to both conversational Mercury and unpredictable Uranus in the early afternoon.
Whatever fun you engaged in on Friday night, the good mood extends into Saturday. Spend time with your friends; engage in activities that stimulate innovative ideas and unusual thinking. This should also be a great day to research scientific or unconventional projects. Ask questions to spark conversations that will reveal information that would otherwise remain unknown. Folks will be happy to share their thoughts and ideas throughout most of Saturday.
However, at 5:29 PM EDT, the Moon opposes cautious Saturn, insisting that we face some more serious question.
At 9:48 PM EDT, the Moon enters domestic, emotional Cancer suggesting that Saturday night it would be best to stay home and keep your loved ones close in a nurturing, sensitive environment. Create a nest and cuddle on the couch. If you have friends or family who needs extra love, bring them a meal or find another way to nurture them on a deep emotional level.
The Gemini Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:29 PM EDT until she enters Cancer at 9:48 PM. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

GIVE AND RECEIVE LOFE
Sunday, April 30, 2017:
Sunday is a day you may want to plan on staying close to home. The extremely sensitive Cancer Moon shows each of us our deepest inward vulnerabilities. She also shows us how we long to be nurtured, cared for, and protected even as she shows us how we can provide that level of deep affection to those we love.
You may long to look back in time, making this a day to explore old photo albums, letters, and mementos from the past, and generally allow yourself the luxury of nostalgia and sentimentality. A small reminiscence goes a long way; don’t get stuck there. You will know when you have gone far enough and it is time to come back to the present moment and enjoy the reality of the life you now live.
Cook a good meal; provide nurturance and love in this very moment.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transits between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

MOVING FORWARD WITH COMFORT AND COURAGE
Monday, April 3, 2017:
This morning, you would rather stay home and avoid work altogether. With the receptive Moon in domestic Cancer, your home and issues of tenderness and love are the concerns you would like to occupy your day.
However, most of us will need to head to work. Early in the day, as the Moon forms an easy trine aspect to Neptune (12:26 PM EDT), it may seem difficult to get your feet firmly on the ground.
Mid-afternoon (2:40 PM EDT), the forceful Aries Sun and protective Cancer Moon form a challenging square aspect bringing us to the First Quarter phase of the Moon. If you think about Cancer’s desire to cuddle with a loved one in a warm nest and Aries’ desire to take a solitary and courageous mountain bike ride, you will understand the challenge between these two energies. Think back to the seed you planted at the New Moon last week. Find a way to use these two conflicting energies to move that process forward.
As soon as your workday is complete, head home, cook a meal for yourself or your family and settle in to any domestic comfort you choose to create.

ANXIETY TURNS TO PLAY
Tuesday, April 4, 2017:
When you awake on Tuesday morning, your challenging dreams may linger, leaving you with an unsettling sense of anxiety. If you remember those dreams, look for the message within and release any discomfort. The sensitive Cancer Moon forms challenging aspects to excessive Jupiter, subversive Pluto, and unsettling Uranus between late Monday night and Tuesday morning.
Allow yourself to explore unusual patterns. Don’t try to stick with all that is expected of you. Perhaps, it is time to explore a new way of viewing the world. Make contact with folks who will stretch or challenge your viewpoints. Stop assuming your worldview is the only one worthy of airtime.
At 4:46 PM EDT, the tender Cancer Moon forms a flowing trine aspect to lovely Venus allowing a loving connection. Take a break from your work and head outside even for a moment; look at the sky and experience expansive beauty.
At 6:13 PM EDT, the Moon enters exuberant Leo, opening the evening for playful fun, the pleasure of creativity.
The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:46 PM EDT until she enters Leo at 6:13 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have a significant future impact.

WIND AT YOUR BACK
Wednesday, April 5, 2017:
The most significant aspect on Wednesday happens at the very final moments of the day. Just at midnight, courageous Mars forms a flowing trine aspect to empowered Pluto. When these two mighty planets work together in a harmonious configuration, you can expect great determination and strength of your actions. You are likely to feel highly motivated to move heaven and earth toward the fulfillment of whatever significant plan or project you have embarked upon.
The cycle between Mars and Pluto (a two year cycle) began in August 2016. What did you plunge into at that time that you knew would take great resolve and willpower? Whatever began at that time has reached a point in its growth where the wind is at your back and progress is steady inherently easy. The full expression of this cycle will come in late May. Plan for it!
The Moon and continues through playful Leo encouraging you to spend time with creative pleasures. If you have children in your life, spend time with them; engage on their level of play. Enjoy

SOUL SEARCHING AND PARADOX
Thursday, April 6, 2017:
On Thursday, Saturn turns retrograde, remaining thus until August 25th. Over the course of this 4 ½ months, it is important to do some soul-searching regarding any long-term commitments that you are considering. This could be around issues of relationship, business, relocation, or your career. If you know the house Saturn is moving through in your chart during this retrograde, that is the most likely area on which to focus your contemplation.
The lovely Leo Moon forms a Grand Trine aspect to exciting Uranus and stable Saturn throughout the afternoon. You should experience an easy sense of satisfaction and excitement simultaneously. You may feel very anchored and reliable even as you feel exhilarant and animated. Hold this paradox with pleasure as for now, both energies hold space together in friendship.
The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:17 PM EDT until she enters Virgo 20 minutes after midnight. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

BALANCE EXPANSION AND REALITY
Friday, April 7, 2017:
When you wake up on Friday morning, the Moon will have entered practical Virgo. You can go ahead and put away your toys from the last few Leo Moon days.
The efficiency and precision of Virgo is challenged as the Sun opposes optimistic Jupiter at 5:38 PM EDT. This energy definitely flies in the face of practical Virgo as you are pushed to excess, extravagance, and overindulgence.
The cycle between the Sun and Jupiter began in late September. In looking back at that time, consider what you started that was of an expansive nature. What big idea or plan did you begin in September? Now, at the planets’ opposition, look back and see how far you have come with that idea or that plan and then make any adjustments necessary to bring it into its fullest power. Pay attention to the places where you can give or receive big ideas or large pleasures.
It is probably best to leave your credit cards at home as it would be so easy to overspend. Watch where your eyes may be bigger than your stomach…. or your dream has gotten unrealistic. We must always remember the delicate balance between expansion and reality.

CHECK YOURSELF
Saturday, April 8, 2017:
Saturday starts out easily enough. You will probably feel productive and powerful due to a lovely Earth Grand Trine. However, the afternoon brings difficult challenges.
When Venus squares Saturn at 4:28 PM EDT, there may be issues that you can not ignore in your love life and relationships or you may need to face reality (and fear) concerning your finances. Face reality head-on; that does not mean to process things extensively with a partner.
Saturday’s transits will be better managed as an internal private job. Understand the reality of your situation and allowed it to be exactly as it is. Nothing must be resolved in this moment.
At 8:49 PM EDT, when the Sun squares destructive Pluto, you will be happy if you did not engage in any arguments. This challenging aspect insists that you face the truth of your deeper motivations and get clear on what is uncomfortable in your attempts to gain power over others. Be aware of your motivations and face yourself honestly.
If you are ready, bring your understanding of yourself to the table… speak only of your own path, don’t make any statement or assumption of what someone else is bringing to the table.

A SIMPLE PATH TO WORKING WITH MERCURY RETROGRADE
Sunday, April 9, 2017:
On Sunday morning, the Moon enters cooperative, charming Libra at 8:35 AM EDT. You are ready to re-establish peace and grace into your home and beyond. This is a great morning to go out for brunch with loved ones and friends. You are ready to deepen your connections as you learn the difference between codependency and interdependence. Give this some thought on Sunday morning.
The big news, however, is that at 7:14 PM EDT, Mercury turns retrograde at 4° Taurus. Spend time today preparing for the upcoming three weeks. Mercury will turn direct once again on May 3rd. If you have followed my writing over the years, you are familiar with the best ways to work with Mercury retrograde. Here is your reminder:
4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde!

  1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned!
  2. Get a notebook and a pen. Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed in the past few months.
  3. Get to work! Accomplish what is on this list! Only what is on this list!
  4. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs!

Mercury retrograde brings us the gift of time to wrap up loose ends!
The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:22 AM EDT until she enters Libra at 8:35 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.
