EXPRESS KINDNESS
Monday, May 1, 2017:
The week begins with a continued sense of sensitivity which held sway through most of last weekend. Getting up and out of bed on Monday morning may present a challenge. With the Moon continuing through sensitive, emotional, and moody Cancer, you may notice yourself either wearing your heart on your sleeve or trying desperately to hide that vulnerability.
The aspects formed by the tender Cancer Moon on Monday bring up the difficult and sometimes dark side of family and the connection we have to the past. This is a day to spend time in deep reflection. Sitting with a skilled therapist or a truly trusted friend may bring powerful insights to your most powerful inner processes.
Pay attention to how you treat others. Notice how you treat the waitress or the grocery store cashier. Make eye contact, offer a word of kindness, and acknowledge your shared humanity with that person. Everyone you encounter feels the same vulnerability that you recognize in yourself. Express kindness.
The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:23 PM EDT until shortly after midnight when she enters Leo. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

ENTHUSIASM & SELF-EXPRESSION
Tuesday, May 2, 2017:
When you wake up on Tuesday morning, you will notice that the sensitivity of the previous days are behind you. You are ready to get up and get started and ready to enter a day of self-expression and enthusiasm. Notice the areas in your life where you want to show up, to be seen as the truly authentic, fun person you know yourself to be. This is a day to allow your playful, creative expression to exert itself. However, bedtime may bring a different energy; you may feel less enthusiastic and even a bit low.
At 10:47 PM EDT, the playful Leo Moon forms a difficult square aspect to the stable Taurus Sun. This is the First Quarter Square of the Lunar Cycle.
Consider the seed that you planted at the New Moon on Wednesday, April 26th, now you can expect to encounter a restriction or blockage in that cycle. It is likely to be a relatively minor issue on the path; the important thing is to take a step forward to move beyond the restriction. What action needs to be taken to move your process in the direction you want to go? Consider that question as you fall asleep Tuesday night and you will have your answer and be ready to take action on Wednesday.

MOVING FORWARD – MERCURY DIRECT
Wednesday, May 3, 2017:
Oh, Happy Day!                                                                                                 At 12:33 PM EDT, Mercury, the planet that represents the way we think, communicate, and share information turns direct. Now, it is finally time to begin new projects, say what needs and wants to be said, and generally move forward more easily in every area of your life.
At 8:50 PM EDT, the Sun forms a lovely sextile aspect to dreamy Neptune. This offers an opportunity to engage deeply in intangible levels of imagination or mystical awareness. Take time to meditate, get lost in a good movie, music, or simply space out! Don’t hit the bottle or get lost in other unhealthy states of consciousness.
The dramatic Leo Moon forms a Grand Trine aspect configuration with unusual Uranus and hardworking Saturn late evening today/ early Thursday morning. This expands our understanding of both the enthusiastic excitement and the stable hard work necessary for the movement we need to continue moving forward.
Envision an enlightened future and commit to the requisite elbow grease.

DEDICATE YOURSELF TO SERVICE
Thursday, May 4, 2017:
When you get up on Thursday morning, you may be aware of the emotional shift that occurred while you slept. The Moon left playful Leo behind and entered competent, efficient Virgo at 5:47 AM EDT.
Thursday should provide you with a day to get a tremendous amount of work done, although you may need to remind yourself not to get too stuck in the details.
Mercury is now moving forward, the Moon is in dedicated hard-working Virgo, and there are no major aspects to get in the way of accomplishment. The work you do today must ultimately be in service to others. If you engage in too much self-focus, you may find yourself feeling fussy, critical, or judgmental of others. Keep an eye on that and get to work.
The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from shortly after midnight (12:35 AM EDT) until she enters Virgo at 5:47 AM EDT.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

PLAN FOR ACHIEVEMENT
Friday, May 5, 2017:
Friday brings another day of powerfully successful effort as the Moon continues through purposeful, devoted Virgo. You may want to get to the office early and plan to stay late!
At 10:15 AM EDT, the Virgo Moon forms a flowing trine aspect to the grounded Taurus Sun. Then, at 5:57 PM EDT, the Moon forms a trine to Pluto. This creates a powerful Grand Trine configuration in the practical Earth signs.
Set practical, productive goals and expect great achievement. You can expect powerful support for whatever goals you have set. Plan accordingly.

RELATIONSHIP CONSIDERATIONS
Saturday, May 6, 2017:
Saturday morning may find you having a difficult time pulling yourself away from the work mode you have been so engaged in over the past few days, or perhaps, you are simply recovering from all that work.
With the steadfast Virgo Moon forming a difficult square aspect to Saturn at 8:43 AM EDT, you may find it useful to accomplish various tasks early in the day or simply rest with the intention of conserving your energy.
You may feel that the day doesn’t really get started until the Moon shifts into harmonious, beauty seeking Libra at 2:21 PM EDT. The afternoon and evening are best spent with close, intimate partners in the service of beauty or simple connection. Go to a museum, create beauty in your home, or seek it in the world around you. Focus on consciously creating your closest relationships.
Consider your most intimate partnership to be separate from you or the other person, a separate entity that you each must love, care for, and take into consideration. Make a plan for Saturday night that will feed the needs of the relationship itself.
The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:43 AM EDT until she enters Libra at 2:21 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

HARMONIOUS CONNECTIONS
Sunday, May 7, 2017:
Sunday brings us to a day full of the potential of energized social interactions and inspired connections. At 11:57 PM EDT, the lovely Libra Moon forms a smooth trine to assertive Mars pushing you out into the world to meet up with your favorite intimates.
This is a lovely day for Sunday brunch. There is no reason to consider work, effort, to-do lists, or anything other than seeking harmonious connection. Create or enjoy aesthetic pleasures. If you didn’t go to a museum or art gallery on Saturday, make that a priority on Sunday.
Devote the day to romance, diplomatic cooperation, or charming socialization. Bring flowers home, open the windows, and bring beauty into your home and your heart.

DETERMINATION MEETS CONFUSION
Monday, February 27, 2017:
Don’t expect to settle into calm terrain yet! When impulsive, possibly angry, Mars opposes expansive Jupiter at 9:24 AM EST, the challenges of last week are ratcheted up. There is an overabundance of heat and powerful determination.
With the Moon still in Pisces, you may feel unclear and even confused by the circumstances and shifting events of the past five days. Whatever wake-up call or shocking revelation you have had is going to take some time and inner work to process.
When the sensitive Pisces Moon conjunct Chiron at 1:09 PM EST, you will seek a silent place of healing. Take yourself and your process seriously; go inward even as you support those you love.
With the Moon square Saturn at 6:07 PM EST, you may feel the need for time alone. Respect that for yourself and others.
At 11:51 PM EST, the Moon releases her elusive sensitivity as she enters dynamic, independent Aries. You will be ready to face a new day on Tuesday.
The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:07 PM EST until she interested Aries at 11:51 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

BOLD COURAGEOUS LOVE
Tuesday, February 28, 2017:
Finally, we are offered a day of astrological calm on Tuesday. Perhaps, calm is a relative term when the emotional Moon, romantic Venus, defiant Uranus, and dynamic Mars are all in Aries, the sign of impulsive determination. Wow. That is a lot of assertiveness that is bubbling alongside the soft sensitivity of the Sun, Mercury, and Neptune all in Pisces. You cannot really believe all that you see (fake news indeed).
Even with all of this as we come off the past week’s intensity, we will take this moment to breath and relax. The only major aspect throughout the day is the Moon conjunct Venus at 9:54 PM EST.
Consider your most deeply held values; contemplate your own pursuit of love, money, and beauty. Go to bed early, make love with your partner or connect with your own self-love.
Understand that there is boldness and courage in your engagement in love at this time.

SIDESTEP HOTSPOTS
Wednesday, March 1, 2017:
Wednesday begins with the aggressive Aries Moon having difficult conversations with obsessive Pluto, anxiety producing Uranus, Jupiter (the planet that simply enlarges whatever picture we are looking at), and aggressive Mars. It is a good idea to carefully observe your own emotional triggers and sidestep other people’s hotspots. This is not a day to speak your mind or engage in difficult conversations. No one will win.
At 9:19 PM EST, the Aries Moon forms a stabilizing trine to steadfast Saturn calming us in time for sleep.
At 9:43 PM EST, you are certainly ready to drift into dreamland, spend time in meditation, or pour yourself an extra glass or two of wine. Your perspective of the circumstances you find yourself in may be highly distorted. Find a way to express your most creative imagination and get a good night’s sleep. Keep your notebook handy to write down your dreams when you wake up on Thursday morning.
The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:19 PM EST until she enters Taurus at 2:43 AM EST on Thursday morning.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

CONNECT WITH KINDNESS
Thursday, March 2, 2017:
By the time you wake up on Thursday morning, the Moon is in Taurus, which you would normally expect to bring solid relief to all the intensity we are living in.
However, with Jupiter now opposing Uranus, whatever you are expecting will be larger and more exciting (or disastrous) than you anticipate. You have the sense of desperately wanting to break free of limitations and restrictions and are highly aware of the most positive as well as the most negative expression of future possibilities.
I encourage you to watch the reflection and the rumbling changes of these energies in your personal life as well as within our culture, our government and the world.
Wherever you find yourself, be an example of calm, open-hearted love, kindness and acceptance. Don’t let yourself get caught up in your own situation so much that you miss the opportunity to make significant, deep connection with others. We are all in need of an extra dose of kindness. Be that example in the world, show the love in your heart.

SIMPLY REST
Friday, March 3, 2017:
Friday presents us with a quiet day of rest. Following a smooth, easy trine aspect to Pluto at 10:20 AM EST, the solid Taurus Moon is VOC until 5:06 AM EST Saturday morning. VOC stands for void of course, meaning that the Moon has made its final major aspect while in one sign until it enters the next sign.
In other words following her conversation with Pluto, she doesn’t speak to any of the other planets until she enters Gemini early Saturday. This slows down all activity and gives us time to rest.
The intense energies of these past weeks have us all on edge; and no, it is not over. For Friday, allow yourself to take a break. Go home after work, cook a nice meal and spend time doing something that simply makes you happy. Take a bath; give your lover massage. Rest.
The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 10:20 AM EST until she enters Gemini at 5:06 AM EST on Saturday morning.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

VENUS RETROGRADE – WHAT DO YOU VALUE?
Saturday March 4, 2017:
By the time you wake up Saturday morning, the Moon will be in Gemini encouraging conversation, friendliness, and curiosity.
The important thing this week occurs on Saturday as Venus turns retrograde at 4:09 AM EST. She will remain retrograde until April 15th. This is an important period of time. Pay careful attention. Venus goes retrograde approximately every 2 years. As with any retrograde, it is important to refrain from forward motion regarding the issues related to the planet involved.
Venus represents the things we value most dearly, our love relationships, money, art, romance, and beauty. Venus represents our deepest personal values. During this time, it is important to go inward and get crystal clear on the things that you value most highly in your life.
Don’t be surprised if past lovers show up on your doorstep or in your FB feed. What do you need to revisit from the past? What can you learn by looking at what you have valued in the past?
Consider carefully what is of the highest value in your life. Consider that what is in your life has higher value than you may know. Consider what it would take for you to be deeply satisfied. Could you be satisfied exactly where you find yourself?
This is a time of contemplation, not forward motion on these issues.  Do not, I repeat, DO NOT start a new romantic relationship or make new financial investments.

ACTION TO STABILIZE
Sunday, March 5, 2017:
Sunday brings a very active Gemini Moon offering you many opportunities for connections, conversations, and engagement with friends and family.
Early in the morning, before you head into all that activity, there may be some challenge as you are simply not sure which way to turn. Once you determine the direction and take action to move forward, the day will smooth out.
At 6:32 AM EST, the chatty Gemini Moon squares the passive Pisces Sun. You will want the action of the day to be something that moves forward the intension you set in motion, or the seed you planted at the New Moon last weekend.
At 3:45 PM EST, assertive Mars forms a pleasing trine aspect to steady Saturn. This will assist in accomplishments coming easily and hard work moving smoothly. As you push forward into the future, you feel deeply supported by structure and stabilization. This is a day when your communications can help to stabilize your actions.
Bring folks together to get a project done that involves both intellect and physical action. Enjoy time spent with friends accomplishing projects and taking action to move your life forward.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: January 16, 2017 through January 22, 2017

The biggest news this week astrologically is the movement of the Sun (the core energy of our Universe) out of Capricorn and into Aquarius on Thursday, January 19th at 4:23 PM EST.

Angel of Day 168 by Kontrola via Wiki Commons

Angel of Day 168 by Kontrola via Wiki Commons

In the interest of full disclosure, I absolutely LOVE the sign of Aquarius! With seven planets in my natal 11th house, I consider myself an honorary Aquarian even though I have no actual planets in the sign.
So let’s talk a little bit about Aquarius.
Aquarius is the sign of innovation and genius. Don’t think of the genius of Aquarius as an intensely high-level of intellect, but rather, genius as the ability for the mind to go to places it was never taught to go.
Aquarius is the energy that reaches out to the future regardless of how the past may want to hold on to an outdated model. Aquarius is able to cleanly detach from what holds it back from the future.
Without the energy of Aquarius, we would be firmly rooted in the dark ages. Aquarius is a sign that sees the greatest perspective for humanity. Aquarius is not a personal sign; it is not warm and fuzzy.
Aquarius looks to improve conditions of the collective, even when it must leave individuals to fend for them selves.

HIGH EXPECTATIONS
Monday, January 16, 2017:
The week starts with the Moon in perfectionist Virgo. You may wake up in the morning with all kinds of thoughts and plans that will help you reach some elevated state of your perceived potential. Virgo sees its potential clearly and longs to reach a perfected state of that potential. This is generally far easier said than done.
As the day begins, the Moon is highly empowered in a trine aspect to powerful Pluto at 6:40 AM EST. You will feel self-confident and engaged as you move forward into the day. By mid afternoon, with the opposition to impulsive Mars, you may be confronted or aggravated by someone getting in the way of your perfect plan.
The evening doesn’t necessarily get any easier as the Virgo Moon squares melancholic Saturn at 5:13 PM EST allowing restrictions and duties to follow us home.
At 9:13 PM EST, determined Mars connects with Chiron, the planet of wounding and healing. This offers an opportunity for you to see how your fears keep you from your desires. This is an evening to spend in contemplation, consider the process of untangling your fears. Be kind to yourself on Monday evening. A walk in nature or a hot bath will help ease you toward bedtime.

FLOWERS – DELIGHT AND BEAUTY
Tuesday, January 17, 2017:
Tuesday begins with a lovely trine aspect from the orderly Virgo Moon and the Sun in ambitious Capricorn. This is a free flow of grounded, stabilizing energy. After a brief VOC, the Moon enters charming Libra at 6:16 AM EST.
What can you do on Tuesday to help establish diplomacy and cooperation with your coworkers and others whom you engage with during the day?
At 1:38 PM EST, you may encounter a challenge to your desire for social harmony (the emotional Moon is square Mercury, the planet of intellect). Allow any negativity or cynicism from others to roll off your back. It is not worth a negative comeback. Go about your day, this challenge will pass quickly will not last as long as you do not engage it.
The rest of the day should prove to be relatively sweet and uneventful. Enjoy a romantic encounter or time with a close friend in the evening. Bring pleasure into your life. Bring home flowers! A little beauty and color will go a long ways to bring delight into your home and cheer up your life.
The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:10 AM EST until 6:16 AM EST when she enters Libra. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

ENJOY THE MORNING, THEN GET SERIOUS
Wednesday, January 18, 2017:
Your experience of Wednesday will likely start out calm as it is a very quiet day astrologically. The Moon remains in graceful Libra throughout the day encouraging the creation of beauty and a deep desire for harmony.
However, as the day progresses be aware of power dynamics (Moon square coercive Pluto at 4:24 PM EST) and the potential for anxiety (Moon oppose defiant Uranus at 10:42 PM EST).
Consider deeply your circumstances and those you encounter. Along with these clear stressors, you can probably feel the building of tension as we approach a square aspect (challenging) between Mars (the planet of direct energy, strength, and anger) and Saturn (the planet of limitations, restriction, and duty). This aspect will not be exact until Thursday at 4:15 AM EST (see Thursday’s post).
Wednesday is also the final full day with the Sun in authoritative Capricorn. Enjoy the steadfast stability and sense of overriding ambition that has characterized the past month.

SUN ENTERS AQUARIUS – A SENSE OF REBELLION
Thursday, January 19, 2017:
On Thursday, consider how you are pursuing your goals. At 4:15 AM EST, determined Mars squares authoritative Saturn. What initial action did you take, or seed did you plant with an eventual goal in mind, in late August of 2016? What action needs to be taken now to ensure that you are moving toward the desired result or the healthy growth of the seed planted at that time?
If you feel greatly agitated or somehow restricted at this time, consider how focused or scattered your efforts are or have been. Perhaps, it is time to release some internal expectations in order to focus on what is most important. The full results will be evident at the very end of May 2017.
At 4:23 PM EST, the Sun (the core energy of our world) enters unpredictable, progressive, and humanitarian Aquarius. Over the coming month, you will be inspired to approach life with less emotion and more objectivity. This is the time to listen closely to your internal “Different Drummer”.
Quickly on the heels of the Sun’s entrance into Aquarius, at 5:10 PM EST, the Moon enters penetrating Scorpio bringing a very different feel to the evening.
Right on its heels, the Moon squares the Sun for her Last Quarter Phase. Here, we are challenged to release whatever is holding us back from appropriate steps forward for innovative growth.
This will be a challenging day for yourself and those you encounter. When you are in the company of others, remember this. Offer kindness and practical support to those in your sphere of influence. We are all in this together.
The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:55 AM EST until she enters Scorpio at 5:10 PM EST Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

CONNECT DEEPLY
Friday, January 20, 2017:
Friday morning offers you an opportunity to profoundly deepen your attitude or approach to that which you value highly in your life. At 8:56 AM EST, lovely Venus forms a sextile aspect to transformative Pluto. This opportunity may be about intimate love relationships or it could be about money and other physical possessions of beauty and value.
On November 25th,  you planted a seed of profound deep love, value, or desire. Now, you are encouraged to explore different ways to help that seed grow. This is an aspect that helps you explore and discover a way to encourage the growth of passion, desire, and beauty.
The powerful Scorpio Moon forms a lovely trine to mystical Neptune at 1:50 PM EST bringing a flow of magic, devotion, and sensitivity to the passion that is available throughout the rest of the day. Connect deeply.

RELEASE CONTROL
Saturday, January 21, 2017:

Saturday is a simple day of deepening connections. The profoundly powerful Scorpio Moon forms lovely aspects to the planet of power (Pluto), the planet of love and beauty (Venus), and the power of action and assertiveness (Mars) throughout the day.
Our hearts feel rich and deep.  For this day, we understand the need for sensitivity, understanding, and the releasing of control.
We are able to allow deep introspection to support the release of anger, forgiveness of hidden forces, manipulations, and mysterious power grabs.
We come together to support each other in the vision of transformation ahead. We stand where we stand and must move forward from the reality of where we are. My love is with each and every one of you
The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:25 PM EST until she interests Sagittarius on Sunday at 5:46 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

FUN ADVENTURES
Sunday, January 22, 2017:
When we awaken on Sunday morning, we are greeted with the Moon in adventurous, fun-loving Sagittarius.
At 11:30 AM EST, the optimistic Sagittarius Moon forms a delightful sextile aspect to the unpredictable Aquarius Sun.
Sit down with a friend or partner and plan a vacation or at least a weekend road trip. This is a delightful day for gathering with like-minded friends, other social activities, or a road trip!
Find a fun adventure, bring a few friends; whatever you do, don’t waste this day!

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: December 19, 2016 through December 25, 2016

You can anticipate a busy week ahead. Of course, you don’t need astrology to tell you that! If you celebrate any of the holidays surrounding this winter season, you will likely have a very long to-do list that you are working hard to manage.

Sen Ljubezni by Ivan Grohar via Wiki Commons

Monday brings us to the beginning of another three-week Mercury retrograde. Get to work right away making a list of everything that has been left undone over the past few months. Over the next three weeks, you can get a lot accomplished if you stick to working from that list!
Mars changes sign on Monday moving from unique, eccentric Aquarius into mystical, sensitive Pisces. Remember, that Mars represents your ability to take action. Mars is not delighted to be in Pisces, although artists, poets, and mystics can move forward delightfully at this time.
On Wednesday, we come to the Winter Solstice, when the Sun leaves the fun of Sagittarius behind to enter the serious, cautious ground of Capricorn.
The Winter Solstice, which occurs when the Earth’s axial tilt is farthest away from the sun, lasts only an instant in time (December 21, 2016 at 5:44 AM EST), and occurs on the shortest day and longest night of the year. The Sun’s daily maximum position in the sky is at the lowest point in the year at this time as well. The seasonal significance of the Winter Solstice is in the reversal of the gradual lengthening of nights and shortening of days. The light will return.

Are you up against a difficult decision, or are you questioning your current life, love, or career direction?
An astrological consultation with Astrolore or Jennie will clearly show you the larger picture at play, the universal directional path.
We are both taking new clients and would love to meet with you.

4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde!
When Mercury turns retrograde, everywhere I turn someone will ask (with trepidation and a touch of fear in their eyes) is Mercury turning retrograde AGAIN??
There is so much unnecessary fear and misinformation around Mercury’s retrograde cycles.
I am going to keep these instructions very simple!

  1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned!

I know that it is easier said than done, but please forget all the terrible things you have heard about Mercury retrograde! There are no astrological conditions that we need to block from ourselves in fear! We simply need to pay attention to the best use of certain times and Mercury retrograde is one of them.
I honestly LOVE Mercury’s retrograde cycle! I feel like I can finally catch up with all the things that have been left undone since the last retrograde cycle!
After years of watching and working with Mercury’s retrograde cycles, I have come to love these brief periods scattered throughout the year. I feel that they are a gift. We simply must know how to use them!

  1. Get a notebook and a pen – Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed in the past few months.

Start with a clean sheet of paper, quiet your mind, and think back over the past few months. On September 22, 2016, Mercury turned direct at 14° Virgo. Since then, he has zipped along through Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and into Capricorn at 15° where he is now turning retrograde.
Think about what you have been doing since late September. Look through your calendar, your notebooks, your bills, wherever you will find reminders of everything that you have been thinking about and working on since then. Now, carefully make a list of all the things that you have begun but not completed. Dig deep; there are probably more things than you are aware of.
What about that appointment you have been meaning to make? The project that you tucked into a drawer because you couldn’t find the time to complete it? Moreover, we all have communications that have fallen through the cracks, unanswered emails, texts, and phone calls!

  1. Get to work! Accomplish what is on this list! Only what is on this list!

Once you have the list made up, it is easy to follow the perfect plan for approximately the next three weeks (Mercury turns direct once again on January 8, 2017).
Get to work, accomplish the things on this list; nothing more, nothing less. That is the whole trick of dealing with Mercury retrograde. Stick with this list!
Our lives are so busy; we zip from one project to another, from one communication to another. We never seem to have the time to slow down and carefully complete the tasks that we have begun.
Mercury retrograde brings us a gift of time to wrap up all those loose ends!

  1. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs!

This is the time for clean up only. Don’t move forward until Mercury turns direct.
If you follow these simple steps, you will be amazed at how much you can accomplish during these periods!
Good Luck and Get to Work!

WORKING WITH MERCURY RETROGRADE
Monday, December 19, 2016:
In the wee hours of Monday morning, Mars, the planet that represents assertive action, enters Pisces, the most passive of the signs. Mars will remain in Pisces until January 27th.  During this time, your usual self-confidence and ability to take action may feel that it has been turned upside down. Rather than courageously pushing forward, you may find yourself slowing down, stepping back and attempting to ‘feel’ your way forward. Pay attention to your dreams and intuitions.
At 5:55 AM EST, Mercury stations retrograde at 15° Capricorn; between the softening of your assertiveness (Mars in Pisces) and the somewhat skewed logical thinking of Mercury retrograde, you may feel a bit lost as you adapt to this new territory. Mercury will remain retrograde until January 8th.
The Moon in Virgo supports practical considerations and encourages you to improve your circumstances by reaching for your potential.
4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde!

  1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned!
  2. Get a notebook and a pen. Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed in the past few months.
  3. Get to work! Accomplish what is on this list! Only what is on this list!
  4. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs!

Mercury retrograde brings us the gift of time to wrap up loose ends!

PARADOX AND COMPLEXITY
Tuesday, December 20, 2016:
On Tuesday, you will continue adjusting to the more passive nature of Mars in Pisces and the more inward mental work of Mercury retrograde. Both of these require considerable adjustment. Take time to absorb and understand the change and the challenge. Slow down your actions and your thinking.
At 8:56 PM EST, the Virgo Moon squares the Sagittarius Sun (Third Quarter Square) suggesting that your internal and external realities seem to be working against each other. On one hand, you may be feeling free and idealistic, and yet, somewhat critical and nitpicky. It is important that you allow contradictions and paradox to exist side-by-side without trying to change either side of the equation.
At 9:39 PM EST, the Moon enters Libra, settling your expectations as you seek equanimity, calm, and a diplomatic sense of your connection to others.
The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:56 PM EST until she enters Libra at 9:39 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

SUN ENTERS CAPRICORN – SERIOUSNESS & INTEGRITY

Wednesday, December 21, 2016:
The Sun’s movement into Capricorn heralds the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere.
Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice marks the longest night and shortest day of the year. We encounter late dawn and early sunsets. Meanwhile, the Southern Hemisphere has its longest day and shortest night.
Over the coming weeks, you will see the days get longer; celebrate the return of the light.
As the Sun moves into Capricorn, we enter the most serious time of the year. This is the time to focus on developing maturity and taking seriously our responsibilities and commitments. Capricorn insists that we seek accomplishment; it is important to spend time in solitude to explore and understand how closely you have aligned your life with your highest beliefs and integrity.
The upcoming month is not a time for frivolous activities; focus on accomplishment in order to create your most stable, satisfying future.

WATCH FOR OVEREXTENDING YOURSELF
Thursday, December 22, 2016:
If you have shopping still to do for your holiday celebration, be practical in your spending. With Jupiter joining with the Libra Moon at 1:30 PM EST, you could easily spend more than you intend. The possibility of over extension could show up in your emotional expenditures as well. Watch for over extension in all areas.
This will be a great day for spending time with family or loved ones. Before the Moon goes VOC*, she forms an opposition to Uranus allowing us to make unusual, exciting, or unpredictable connections with others.
By evening, quiet connection with a partner or close friend, will feel satisfying. Remember, you’re still adjusting to the changes of the past few days (Mercury retrograde, Mars entering dreamy Pisces, and the Sun entering ambitious Capricorn). Rest together, with a partner or friend. Some hours of calm quiet rest may be more important than you realize.
The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:32 PM EST until she enters Scorpio on Friday morning at 9:32 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

MYSTERY AND INTRIGUE
Friday, December 23, 2016:
The rest we required on Thursday evening will serve us well when the Moon enters emotionally penetrating Scorpio at 9:32 AM EST. Throughout the afternoon, this powerful Scorpio Moon engages in harmonious conversations with the Sun and Mars.
The intensity of your emotions can be used for practical purposes. You are powerfully driven to push forward as you approach your deepest desires.
This may be a simple day but the results of connections made may powerfully move your life forward.
There is no need to keep your deepest desires undercover. Allow others to support you and offer support to others, as you each engage in the transformation of your lives. A sense of mystery and intrigue show you are on the right path.

STABILIZE ECCENTRIC PROCLIVITIES
Saturday, December 24, 2016:
Saturday holds a very important transit that presents important keys to the coming months. At 7:20 PM EST, Saturn trine Uranus; this is the first of three ‘hits’ of this aspect. The second will be on May 19, 2017 and the third on November 11, 2017.
This transit brings the defiant, independent, and eccentric, revolutionary energy of Uranus and the stabilizing, responsible, conservative authority of Saturn into a harmonious conversation. Uranus questions the places where Saturn is stuck. Saturn shows Uranus how to bring responsibility and stabilization to revolutionary shocking realities.
Considering how these two energies may support each other in the midst of our current political catastrophe certainly gives us food for thought. Uranus upsets and revolutionizes; Saturn brings maturity and restriction. Keep in mind that this is a harmonious connection. Harmonious for whom, we must ask?  We have no idea what is happening behind the scenes politically; we do know there are powerful energies at work.
Within the context of your personal life, this may show up as you struggle to stabilize your more eccentric proclivities or work to break out of places where you are stuck. Much depends on where this occurs in your chart. If you have personal planets between 18 and 22 of Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), you are feeling a deep flow on these issues.

LOVE <3
Sunday, December 25, 2016:
It is a delight to find that on Sunday, which so many people are celebrating, provides us with an entire day of the Scorpio Moon VOC*. This enables us to easily relax into a holiday. There is nothing to be done. Enjoy wherever you find yourself. The Scorpio Moon encourages us to stay deeply connected to profound emotions.
Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and sensual pleasures is incredibly active on Sunday. First, she forms a lovely, flowing trine to philosophical Jupiter at 8:22 AM EST allowing your understanding of love and beauty to expand.
When she sextiles Uranus at 11:35 AM EST, she asks you to look outside of your conservative expectations to see unexpected or unusual opportunities that may be presented to create beauty or build on loving connections.
At 1:32 PM EST, she sextiles Saturn offering the possibility of mature stabilization of love. These delightful Venus aspects promise you a delightful day.
Unfortunately, of course, you may have personal transits that override all this pleasure and beauty. Even so, you will feel this; remain open to the enjoyment of it.
As you head into the evening, the Moon enters Sagittarius at 10:19 PM EST, you may want to stay up late enough to spend some time in the expansive emotional energy that comes forward at the time.
Absorb and extend outward to others, all the love that you can muster on Sunday.
The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:22 AM EST until she enters Sagittarius at 10:19 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, textiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

I am holding my breath trying to imagine how this week will play out on the political, social, and cultural level.
The week begins on the heels of the overly aggressive Aries Full Moon; she was in such close contact with unpredictable Uranus as well as Mercury (the planet of communication) being highly stressed by its connection to destructive Pluto.
With the wild politics the USA is engaged in, I can only imagine how these final weeks before the election will play out.
This week brings much change.
Venus, the planet that teaches us how to create relationship and beauty leaves issues of privacy and suspicion (Scorpio) behind as she enters Sagittarius where she explores new ways to create her heart’s desires.
Keep your eyes open on Wednesday and Thursday, as there are grave suggestions of fireworks and more unexpected surprises. Within the culture and political system, I don’t know what else could further surprise us… but keep your eyes open.

NO SAFETY NET
Monday, October 17, 2016:
With the Moon in steadfast Taurus on Monday, we simply want to settle into a safety net. With aggressive, angry Mars moving toward its contact point with transformative Pluto (exact on Wednesday), it feels like the safety net may not be trustworthy. There are those among us who seek stability through the destruction of all that they do not understand. Power may seem solid, stable, and even trustworthy, it may be deceptive.
On a personal level, does your power come at the expense of others; or is your life at the mercy of the power grab of others? If you look clearly, and work at dismantling your own misogyny, racism, sexism, bigotry etc., the rest of the week will be not quite so brutal. Facing these issues is paramount for this entire week.
The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 10:47 AM EDT until she enters Gemini at 10:29 AM Tuesday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

EXPLORE PERSPECTIVES ON LOVE
Tuesday, October 18, 2016:
Tuesday feels better, by far, than Monday. By the time we begin the day the planet of love, beauty, and grace (Venus) will have entered Sagittarius after being in Scorpio since September 23rd. If your relationships have wandered into depths of intensity and even darkness these past 3 ½ weeks, you can anticipate a reprieve of that intensity. Venus will remain in optimistic fun-loving Sagittarius until she enters responsible, disciplined Capricorn on November 12. For now, enjoy the focus on exploration and expansion. You will be able to see broader potentials and possibilities for love and intimate connections.
At 10:29 AM EDT, when the Moon enters Gemini, you will want to seek out friends and acquaintances for conversation and sharing perspectives and ideas. You may encounter some discord when the chatty Gemini Moon opposes Venus at 11:10 AM EDT. Don’t engage in negative banter. This is a quickly passing issue and not worthy of extended engagement. Say what needs to be said and turn your attention back toward love. You do not need to agree with the values of others to remain kind and keep your own words above the fray.
The Taurus Moon begins Tuesday VOC* until she enters Gemini at 10:29 AM EDT.

INTENSE PRESSURE IN A VOLATILE WORLD
Bluetentraume by Jan Schuler via Wiki Commons

Wednesday, October 19, 2016:
Wednesday brings intense pressure to an already volatile environment.
At 7:22 AM EDT, Mars (the planet of aggression and anger) conjoins Pluto (the planet of power and coercion) at 15° Capricorn. Nothing feels unimportant or trivial. Everywhere you look you are likely to see folks in serious power struggles. It may be difficult, but do your best to maintain calm and project equilibrium. Thursday’s powerful transit of Mercury to Uranus is fanning the flames as well. Watch the political arena for more stories that none of us want to hear.
Stand back and carefully weigh your position before leaping to conclusions in any personal circumstances or communications. The intense pressure to take action and maintain control will not be easy to manage. Do not neglect your meditation practice at all this week, do what you can to maintain stability.
Understand that the pressure you see in the culture is the same pressure that you feel within your own gut. This pressure is also present in all the people you encounter. Show kindness to everyone you meet; you can make more of a difference than you may expect. Helping to smooth the path for those around you will sooth your own way.

UNPREDICTABLE CONVERSATIONS
Thursday, October 20, 2016:
You will likely begin Wednesday without a restful sleep to smooth the passage of another stressful day. The Moon begins the day in unsettled, restless Gemini. In the wee hours of the morning, logical Mercury will show a highly illogical side with an opposition to Uranus. The challenges from Wednesday may shift from an arena of coercion and control to verbal defiance with revolutionary overtones.
On a personal level, keep your interactions with others on an even keel or simply spend time with like-minded folks. Go ahead and engage in heated conversations with folks who will agree with you.  Trying to engage folks who have a very different perspective could end badly!
The energies showing up here in the middle of this week are not the energies we want to see reflected in these days leading up to the US presidential elections, but we are all far beyond being surprised by any of it.
At 11:29 AM EDT, the receptive Moon enters sensitive, intuitive Cancer. Pull your loved ones close and foster kindness in your domestic life.
The Gemini Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) for a brief time between 7:17 AM EDT and 11:29 AM EDT when she enters Cancer.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

THE NECESSITY OF RISK
Friday, October 21, 2016:
Friday’s sensitive Cancer Moon wants nothing more than connection with home, tenderness, and family. However, there are factors that are apt to pull you into areas of distinct anger, power, and even rage or obsession. Like I said, this in not an easy week.
As the Cancer Moon goes head to head with the hidden forces of destructive Pluto at 1:13 PM EDT and with the frustration and anger of Mars at 4:05 PM EDT, keep your head above water and show kindness and love in every circumstance.
The world is changing outside your doors and within your heart and mind. As you watch the internal and the external changes, notice how they match up as a distinct reflection of each other. Do not run from this stress. Keep your heart open. Change is necessary and cannot happen without upheaval.
Do not underestimate the depth of change that is happening at the core of our political system. Do not underestimate the depth of change that is happening at the core of your own values, thoughts, and emotions. Allow change, allow upheaval; trust the process. One day we will look back on these days with wonder.
For now, step forward consciously, love deeply, and understand that sometimes you will need to take risks to find the path that will enliven your heart.

SUN ENTERS DEEP, PRIVATE SCORPIO
Saturday, October 22, 2016:
The stress of the week is still with us throughout the early part of Saturday.
At 3:14 PM EDT, the tender Cancer Moon squares the Libra Sun. You may feel stress between the desire to go deeply into emotional connection and the need to make things look good. Don’t worry about how things look, pay attention to the reality underneath appearance.
At 3:35 PM EDT, the sensitive Moon enters playful, fun-loving Leo. Several hours later at 7:45 PM EDT, the Sun enters secretive and introspective Scorpio.
Scorpio and Leo are each fixed signs, both are big on determination and accustomed to getting their own way. Leo and Scorpio make uncomfortable bedfellows as Leo wants to express every inner feeling and Scorpio wanting privacy and to avoid the limelight.
Social activities on Saturday evening could be difficult due to the discomfort of balancing these very diverse energies.
Here in the Northern hemisphere, we are very aware of the changing seasons during this upcoming month while the Sun moves through Scorpio. The darkness overtakes the light, we feel secretive, mysterious, deep, and private. We understand the transformation that occurs below the surface in the dark.
Enjoy this time; it is a powerful time of intensity and transformation.
The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) for a very brief time between 3:14 PM EDT and 3:35 PM EDT when she enters Leo.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

NEEDING REST
Sunday, October 23, 2016:
Finally, you can take a deep breath and relax. We all need a rest. Sunday should provide just that.  The creative expression of the Leo Moon is in the mood for child-like fun and games. Set aside the challenges of the past few weeks and put on hold the ideas you most recently had of where you thought you were headed.  Things are not set in stone; allow change.
In the early hours of the day, the Moon makes sweet aspects to harmonious Venus and expansive Jupiter. There may be excitement, optimum, good fortune, and new opportunities. Keep your eyes open for what you know to be the right path and the most powerful way forward.
At 4:20 PM EDT, when the Sun trines the Leo Moon, you have the opportunity to see what stands in the way of your deeper understanding of where you now find yourself.
