THURSDAY THIS WEEK – MERCURY RETROGRADE BEGINS

4 Simple Steps To Make the Most of Mercury Retrograde

Here we go again!
Mercury turns retrograde from our perspective (16° ARIES) on March 22nd at 8:19 PM EDT.

Everywhere you turn someone is asking (with trepidation and a touch of fear in their eyes) is Mercury turning retrograde AGAIN??

There is so much unnecessary fear and misinformation around Mercury’s retrograde cycles.

LET’S KEEP THIS SIMPLE

#1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned. Don’t listen to those who are

I know that is easier said than done, but please forget all the terrible things you have ever heard about Mercury retrograde!

There are no astrological conditions that we need to block ourselves from in fear!  We simply need to learn how to make the best use of the planetary cycles as we encounter them!

I honestly LOVE Mercury’s retrograde cycle! During these times, I can finally catch up on all the things that have been left undone since Mercury turned direct after the last retrograde cycle (December 22, 2017).

After years of watching and working with Mercury’s retrograde cycles, I have come to love these brief periods scattered throughout the year. I feel that they are a gift. We simply must know how to use them!

#2.  Get a notebook and a pen – Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed since December 22, 2017

Start with a clean sheet of paper, quiet your mind, and think back over these past few months. On December 22nd, Mercury turned direct at 13° Sagittarius. Since then, he has zipped along through Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, and into Aries where he is now turning retrograde at 16°.

Think about what you have been doing since late December. Look through your calendar, your notebooks, your bills, wherever you will find reminders of everything that you have been thinking about and working on since then. Now, carefully make a list of all the things that you have begun but not completed. Dig deep; there are probably more things than you are aware of.

What about that appointment you have been meaning to make? How about the project that you finally tucked into a drawer because you couldn’t find the time to complete it? I am certain that we all have communications that have fallen through the cracks!

#3. Get to work! Accomplish what is on this list! Only what is on this list!

Once you have this list, it is easy to follow the perfect plan for the next three+ weeks. Mercury turns direct once again on April 15th, 2018. Get to work, accomplish the things on this list. Nothing more, nothing less.

This is the whole trick of dealing with Mercury retrograde. Stick with this list!

Our lives are so busy; we zip from one project to another, from one communication to another. We never seem to have the time to slow down and carefully complete the tasks that we have begun.

Mercury retrograde brings us the gift of time to wrap up all those loose ends!

#4. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs!

This is the time for clean up only. Don’t move forward until Mercury turns direct on April 15th!

If you follow these simple steps, you will be amazed at how much you can accomplish during this 3 week period!

Good luck and get to work! Do remember that these are guidelines; not rules. There are things that can not be put off. Please be practical and do what must be done.

HIGH ENERGY – POTENTIAL AGGRAVATION

Monday, March 19, 2018:

Monday may feel like a fiery day of high energy and potential aggravation as the forceful Aries Moon begins to grow into her waxing crescent phase while making contact with defiant Uranus and power-hungry Pluto.

It is time to explore possibilities and new ways of experiencing your world. Watch yourself for any tendency to push your weight or privilege around as you may want your own way in some situation where you don’t expect the issue of diplomacy to deliver what you want. On Monday you likely want what you want without regard to others. Keep selfishness in check, don’t beat yourself up for it, but try to look beyond your own needs and get curious about how everyone involved may get their needs met.

When the Moon enters stable, slow-moving Taurus at 9:07 PM EDT, you may expect things to calm down for an early night’s sleep, however, shortly after midnight, Mercury and Venus join together at 16° Aries. Your words of love and connection may not be gentle but they will be direct and leave no one wondering what it is you want.

The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:29 PM EDT until she enters Taurus at 9:07 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

MARCH EQUINOX – SUN ENTERS DYNAMIC ARIES

Tuesday, March 20, 2018:

The Moon is steady and solid as she moves through reliable, consistent Taurus but the Sun’s entrance into Aries takes the cake and leaves us little thought for Taurus’s soft, earthy reverence.

At 12:15 PM EDT, we reach the March equinox. This is the vernal (Spring) equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the autumnal (Fall) equinox in the Southern Hemisphere.

The March equinox is the moment of the new astrological year, the moment when the Sun crosses the celestial equator, the imaginary line in the sky above Earth’s equator, entering the first sign of the Zodiac, dynamic impulsive Aries. It may be a tiny bit less than exact, but conventional wisdom tells us that on the equinox we experience a day and night of equal lengths – 12 hours of daylight and 12 hours of night time. The name equinox is derived from the Latin words aequus, meaning equal, and nox, meaning night.

At the moment of the Equinox, the tilt of the Earth’s axis is inclined neither away from nor towards the Sun. This ushers us into the energies of Aries. Aries is a cardinal fire sign.

Think of the birth of Fire. As the Sun increasing in light and entices us to blast forward into new life with determination, courage, and physical, independent energy. Aries is a cardinal fire sign. Think of the birth of Fire.

FLOWERS AND BEAUTY

Wednesday, March 21, 2018:

Wednesday will be the first full day with the sun in dynamic, highly energetic Aries. Can you feel springtime in the air? During the month that the Sun is in Aries, Springtime itself is not dependable, we (in the NorthSpringtimeere) may still have days that feel more like late Winter than Spring.

On Wednesday, the Moon is in steadfast Taurus all day, allowing your heart to embrace the expansive excitement and deep pleasure of Spring. Taurus is a fixed, Earth sign that represents the period of time in the year when Spring becomes stable (the Sun will enter Taurus on April 19th). Taurus represents earth based beauty, reverence, and reliability. We know that warmth, sunshine and new growth are right around the corner. We must practice patience and bring beauty into our lives, encouraging the increase of more warmth, more sun, and more growth.

Bringing fresh flowers into your home, open the windows and let fresh air in; even if it is cold. Think about spring cleaning, you won’t want to work on that today, but plan for it.

Also, remember that on Thursday, Mercury stations retrograde. Begin preparing. Start a list of all that has been left undone over the past few months. I will post a reminder of how to manage Mercury retrograde in Thursday’s post.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:21 PM EDT until she enters Gemini at 1:30 AM EDT on Thursday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

MAKE SURE THE PLAN IS IN PLACE – MERCURY RETROGRADE

Thursday, March 22, 2018:

By the time you wake up on Thursday morning, the Moon has entered inquisitive, restless Gemini. While the Moon moves through Gemini, folks tend to be more talkative, light-hearted, curious, and also more alert and aware of others. However, don’t be surprised if your communications somehow fall flat. Mercury, the planet that rules Gemini, is stationary, turning retrograde at 8:19 PM EDT. This may leave you feeling somehow stuck in your communications.

It may feel difficult to say what you want to say and leave you wondering if you were understood if you even manage to get the words out. It is best not to start new projects or communications. Consider carefully how to manage this Mercury Retrograde which continues until April 15th. Remember, Mercury retrograde is a powerful time for accomplishment if you plan and prepare accordingly.

Be sure to re-read the “4 Simple Steps To Make the Most of Mercury Retrograde” at the top of this post.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:21 PM EDT briefly until she enters Gemini at 1:30 AM EDT on Thursday morning. By the time you wake up, all will be in order.

RELEASE CONTROL

Friday, March 23, 2018:

Friday brings a powerful transit that suggests the importance of deep change and possibly, profound turmoil to your love relationships. If you are in a less than stable, healthy partnership, this could bring a final break. If the relationship is healthy and you are well matched, you may find that some deep change needs to occur to move forward with full health intact. Dynamics of power and control must be managed carefully.

With Mercury retrograde as well, be acutely aware of communications between yourself and your loved ones. Don’t try to control those around you.

Allow yourself to loosen your grip, allow the future to be uncertain. Release your attachment to the outcome. The reality is that you can’t control others, you can’t control the future, and often, you often can’t even control yourself! Allow profound change to occur.

On January 9th, Venus and Pluto began their annual cycle of bringing beauty to power. Did something begin at that time that now needs a powerful push to move forward? Question your path forward.

Be cautious of any attraction that feels intensely powerful and fated this week. This is also not a time to make new financial investments.

The Gemini Moon is VOC* for about 8 minutes before midnight on Friday night. She will enter Cancer before you awake on Saturday morning (4:52 AM EDT). Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SOLITARY PHYSICAL EXERTION

Saturday, March 24, 2018:

Before you awake on Saturday morning, the Moon has entered sweet, sensitive Cancer. Generally speaking, the Cancer Moon encourages us to create emotional security within our chosen or biological families. This is not without complication this weekend. The Sun has only been in Aries for a few days and we are just adapting to this assertive, impulsive self-centered energy which is so at odds with the nurturing nature of Cancer.

At 11:35 AM EDT, the tender Cancer Moon forms a challenging square aspect to the fiercely independent Aries Sun. This is the First Quarter phase of the Moon. Think back to Saturday, March 17th. Did you plant a seed for the Pisces New Moon? Consider what action you can best take now to push that agenda forward.

Along with difficult conversations the Moon has with Mars and Saturn, early afternoon brings a difficult square aspect from the Sun to Mars. You may feel irritable, impatient, and defensive. Find a way to move energy that is healthy. Solitary exercise or hard physical work can help. It is best to be on your own, the energies are simply too inclined to irritation, frustration or even resentment.

The Gemini Moon is VOC* in the wee hours of Saturday morning. She will enter Cancer before you awake (4:52 AM EDT). Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

TENDERNESS ENDS THE WEEK

Sunday, March 25, 2018:

I’d like to tell you that Sunday will be better than Saturday for spending time with loved ones but I’m not sure about that. Test it out. Pay attention to your ability to stay connected without falling into old habits of power struggles or simple irritation.

If you notice yourself feeling frustrated and are unable to get a handle on it, pull back and keep yourself out of a defensive stance.

By evening, the aggravation should clear up allowing you to connect with love and affection before heading into another week.

Cook a nice meal or bring your loved ones out to a casual restaurant for dinner. Place kindness on the table as a main dish. The weekend has not been easy, end it on a note of sweet tenderness.

UNIQUE FRIENDS – PROGRESSIVE IDEAS

Monday, March 12, 2018:

You’re likely to begin Monday morning with serious ambitions and deliberate plans for accomplishment, courtesy of the Capricorn Moon. However, you may need to prepare yourself to release any tight hold you have on those expectations.

At 11:36 AM EDT, when the Moon makes contact with Uranus, you may be surprised at how easily you lose the focus that felt so solid at the start of the day. Don’t expect that focus to return but don’t let it cause any great concern either.

At 6:45 PM EDT, the Moon enters progressive Aquarius, encouraging new perspectives and progressive thinking.

Prepare for an interesting, potentially socially engaged evening. Find something unusual to do, spend time with your most unique. unconventional friends.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 11:36 AM EDT until she enters Aquarius at 6:45 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

ILLUMINATE HOPE

Tuesday, March 13, 2018:

Tuesday continues to bring us face to face with the anxiety or excitement of differing points of view. Keep your mind open and try to see things from different perspectives. It is important that we do what we can to understand how others view the world.

Venus, the planet of love and beauty, forms a First Quarter Square to restrictive, determined Saturn on Tuesday morning. This will hold us in its grip for several days. Venus joined with Saturn on December 25, 2017, beginning a cycle of stabilizing or restructuring love and beauty. Now, at the first square between them, it is important to consider what actions you can take to move forward with this cycle. Is this a reference to love, money, creativity, beauty in your life? How can you bring more maturity to this issue? Perhaps, you have been avoiding reality in some way. Look clearly and take practical action to grow up and love more deeply.

Another important transit today involves a lovely, flowing trine aspect from the Sun to Jupiter. The cycle between them began on October 26, 2017, shortly after Jupiter entered Scorpio. We are just now seeing the deeper, more profound gifts that will ultimately be bestowed through the cycle that began at that time (think #MeToo).

With Jupiter’s retrograde in Scorpio, dirt is still being excavated in order for deep growth while expansive understanding begins to illuminate the deeper issues of ongoing misogyny. Jupiter offers us hope.

SHARE IDEAS

Wednesday, March 14, 2018:

The Moon continues through independent, unconventional Aquarius on Wednesday. This is basically a quiet but friendly and engaging day.

The Beloved by Andrew Pavlovsky via Wiki Media

You should be able to see situations and other people from a new and unusual perspective. Take advantage of this. Go ahead and engage your mind in progressive, humanitarian thinking. Gather with others to share ideas. Aquarius gives us an opportunity to see outside of the restrictive boxes we generally find ourselves in.

You may discover that you are able to open your mind to areas of thinking that have not been available to you in the past. Go there, explore new, unusual, rebellious, and even revolutionary ideas. Share those ideas and listen to what others are sharing as well.

SENSITIVITY AND EMPATHY

Thursday, March 15, 2018:

By the time you get going on Thursday, the Moon has entered passive, dreamy Pisces. Wednesday brought a relatively quiet day with a focus on unusual and unique thinking patterns, courtesy of the Aquarius Moon. Thursday brings a relatively quiet day as well but we have traded the unusual thinking for a deep sense of emotion, empathy, and compassion.

Earlier in the week, it became necessary to face reality in your financial situation and your love life. While the Moon is in Pisces, you will be less inclined to face reality, longing to engage in imagination, music, and mystical pursuits. Don’t lose track of reality but allow yourself to swim in sweet dreams a bit on Thursday.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:33 AM EDT until she enters Pisces at 6:12 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

THE DREAM HAS TEETH

Friday, March 16, 2018:

The desire to stay in dreamland will likely continue on Friday as the Moon moves through idealistic, poetic Pisces. However, with both Venus and Mercury now in Aries, the dream may have teeth and more determination behind it than you may realize. You want to reach out and grab what you long for and are less inclined to sit on the sidelines looking on wistfully.

With the Moon in Pisces (along with the Sun and Neptune), your emotions bring you to levels of deep sensitivity. Boundaries between yourself and others dissolve in clouds of empathy and compassion.

You will not, however, dissolve into a puddle of inaction as your sensitivity can easily engage anger or aggression if you see mistreatment of any kind. You will not only feel for the underdog but you will go to bat for him or her.

Powerful Aries energy will keep the dream from Pisces season alive.

PISCES NEW MOON – PLANT A SEED OF COMPASSION – THEN GO DANCING

Saturday, March 17, 2018:

Saturday begins with a Pisces New Moon at 9:12 AM EDT. Perform your New Moon ritual late on Saturday or, better yet, on Sunday.

At 12:40 PM EDT, Mars, the planet of action enters Capricorn, joining Saturn and Pluto in this serious, authoritative sign. Mars is considered to be in its exaltation in orderly, steadfast Capricorn, as the sign helps to contain and subdue the fire of Mars. This is a powerful, level-headed, and self-controlled position for the planet that rules anger, male sexuality, and war.

Even so, it may be a rough road as he meets with both Saturn and Pluto between now and when he enters Aquarius on May 15th (that is the same day that Uranus enters Taurus).

At 2:56 PM EDT, the Moon leaves any softness behind and enters Aries. The evening may feel a bit volatile… use that energy… make love or go out dancing; release any pent-up energies that may feel stressful in your body.

The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:12 AM EDT until she enters Aries at 2:56 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

~ New Moon Ritual ~

Sunday will be the best day to plan and implement your New Moon ritual. Keep it simple. First, take a moment to write down what changes you wish to create or increase in the upcoming Moon cycle. For this Pisces New Moon, set an intention regarding something intangible related to you imagination, compassion, spirituality, or inspiration.

If you know what house in your birth chart holds Pisces, it will help you clarify where creativity or inspiration is ready to manifest. For example, if Pisces is in your 1st house, set an intention of expressing the most sensitive side of your personality. If Pisces is in your 4th house, set an intention to bring space for spiritual exploration into your home, set up an altar. With Pisces in the 7th, the intention may be to meet more mystical people or begin a spiritual path with your partner. In the 10th, you may see the need to be more sensitive to your coworkers or to bring something elusive to your business or career.

If you don’t know what house is involved, simply go with your intuition regarding the area of life that needs to grow through the expression of compassion, sensitivity, and empathy.

Have two candles available for the ritual; light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are in this moment. Light the second candle as an aspiration of what you intend to create. Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle. When you light the second candle, focus on drawing to you what you are choosing to create as you bring the two candles closer together. Do this each day and at the Full Moon in two weeks, you will bring them fully together and acknowledge the result of what you have created.

The Pisces New Moon suggests that you plant a seed of empathy, mysticism, and poetic whimsy.

Share this ritual with your friends and loved ones.

THE URGENCY OF THE LIFE FORCE

Sunday, March 18, 2018:

Waking up on Sunday will feel very different from how you felt when you awoke on Saturday. Remember, that the Moon sets the emotional tone for the day as it moves through the Zodiac, spending approximately 2.5 days in each sign. The change from a Pisces Moon to an Aries Moon is fairly dramatic.

With the Moon in Aries, you will notice that your instinctual reactions speed up and you may feel edgy and restless. You have a powerful desire to take action. This is no lazy Sunday! Certainly, it is not the day to stay home resting or watching movies.

You may feel the need to follow a spark that thrusts you forward into an individual task or action. You may want to take off on your own for a bike ride or to ski down a mountainside. Engage your physical body in action. This is how you will feel the best.

There is a sense of urgency with this Moon sign, watch the temptation to be overly impulsive. You may feel invincible but please retain some amount of caution… and enjoy the feeling of being alive!

“For all its complexity, however, astrology remains fundamentally simple. It offers a time-honored system of symbols that sum up key aspects of human life while providing profound insights and practical guidance.” ~Anne M. Nordhaus-Bike

DEPTH AND INTROSPECTION

Monday, March 5, 2018:

At 8:23 AM EST, the Moon enters deeply personal and introspective Scorpio. You may prefer to spend the day alone contemplating deeply intense issues of a mysterious or private nature. If you must work on Monday, you may find it easy to discover what is at the root of any workplace mysteries.

This is a good day for searching out what is below the surface or, conversely, a good time to hide issues that are best kept undercover. You may know better than usual how to ask the right questions to get to the root or to evade questions asked of you. Days with a Scorpio Moon are not days of casual conversations or connections. Everything seems deeper, more profound, and with more significant meaning.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:19 AM EST until she enters Scorpio at 8:23 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Mystical Pisces season is about to end with Mercury and Venus entering Aries on Tuesday. You can expect less emotion and more action.

SET THE DREAM ASIDE – TAKE ACTION

Tuesday, March 6, 2018:

By the time you awake on Tuesday, Mercury has entered assertive, action-oriented Aries. The dream state of the past month is broken and it is time to face the mental and intellectual activity that has been brewing below the surface. Mercury has been in Pisces since February 17th, encouraging passive and imaginative thought processes.

Now, it is time to put the words on paper or speak them aloud. If you have had things to reveal but the time has not seemed right, you are moving closer to the tipping point now. Mercury will remain in Aries until May 13th, with Mercury retrograde beginning on March 22nd.

Evening brings lovely Venus into Aries as well. The dream and the fantasy break as you know it is time to face reality. Get clear on your individual values, take the steps necessary to make your relationship and your finances work over the coming months. All that has been put on the back burner throughout the Pisces season is now ready to push forward.

The powerful, private Scorpio Moon forms a lovely trine aspect to both dreamy Neptune and the Pisces Sun throughout the day. Life has a gentle flow even as words, thoughts, and communications come more directly and easily.

SEEK NEW DIRECTIONS

Wednesday, March 7, 2018:

Both the flow and the ability to take action continue into Wednesday with a tiny touch of the dream still intact. It is not always easy to release our most lovely fantasies.

At 5:03 PM EST, the Moon enters Sagittarius, lightening your emotional nature and assisting in forward motion. Spend the evening with folks who engage your thinking and your spirit in looking forward to new directions.

Spring by John Reinhard Weguelin via Wiki Media

Consider new perspectives and new directions. What do you want to learn? Where do you want to travel? Who do you want to understand that you currently don’t? Ask questions, get curious, and don’t get stuck in your own already stale thinking. Look at where your life is stuck and move the dial in a new direction.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:55 AM EST until she enters Sagittarius at 5:03 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

RE-EXAMINE WHAT HAS BEEN EXCAVATED SINCE OCTOBER

Thursday, March 8, 2018:

Late on Wednesday night, the Sagittarius Moon forms an easy trine to Mercury, helping Thursday morning to begin with a simple sense of intellectual growth and stimulation. Your mood is likely to be social, friendly, and upbeat. Sagittarius is a mutable fire sign, suggesting physical vitality and ease of adaptability.

Study and curiosity come easily. You will want to socialize with acquaintances who have a variety of perspectives. You will be bored with the same old stories, preferring to find new directions and see the world through the eyes of others.

Sagittarius encourages us to learn through travel and the experience of other cultures.

At the end of the day, (11:45 PM EST), Jupiter stations retrograde at 23° Scorpio. Consider what has been being excavated, explored, and expanded in your life since Jupiter entered Scorpio in early October. Watch how individuals and the culture continue to work through the issues of the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements. Examine where you’ve/we’ve been and how best to proceed when Jupiter moves forward on July 10th.

CREATE SPACE FOR AN EXCITING EVENING

Friday, March 9, 2018:

At 6:20 AM EST, we reach the 3rd Quarter Moon. This is a stressful square aspect formed between the Pisces Sun and the Moon in Sagittarius. It is time to let go of something that has been developing over the past 3 weeks.

Both Pisces and Sagittarius are mutable signs, this is not anything that you would consider high stress as mutable signs are adaptable, not making much of a fuss even if they don’t necessarily agree with each other. The letting go should be almost effortless.

The Sagittarius Moon joins with assertive Mars and forms a lovely trine with Uranus on Friday evening, offering a potentially exciting evening. This is not a night to stay home alone. Get out into the world to engage with others who will make your heart sing.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:28 PM EST until she enters Capricorn at 4:52 AM EST on Saturday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

BUILD YOUR FUTURE

Saturday, March 10, 2018:

By the time you awake on Saturday morning, the Moon has entered mature, authoritative, and disciplined Capricorn. Throughout the day, there are stressful aspects from the Moon to Venus, Mercury, and, finally, a conjunction with Saturn at 9:05 PM EST.

You are likely to be strongly aware of a renewed need to build structure and planning around the dreams that you have recently been swimming in. You are newly aware of the limitations of time and the reality of aging. You are motivated by this pressing and sobering reality. Consider the structures that you need to build to create the future you desire.

As the day progresses, Sunday morning’s aspects come clearly to the table. It is a mixed bag indeed but first, you will face a challenging square from Mercury to Saturn (2:00 AM EST, Sunday morning). You may feel that it is hard to make yourself understood and the seriousness of your mind and thinking may feel heavy and even depressing. Saturday evening is best used in a serious study, preparing for, planning, or building for your future.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:28 PM EST Friday night until she enters Capricorn at Saturday morning at 4:52 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

COME OUT OF HIDING

Sunday, March 11, 2018:

Sunday continues with the cautious, authoritative Capricorn Moon and the lingering Mercury square to Saturn. Life does not feel inconsequential or light. However, there are powerful and exciting aspects being formed early in the day. Yes, continue to plan for your future even as you allow excitement and empowerment to move you.

At 7:22 AM EST, Mars forms a smooth flowing trine aspect to Uranus, pushing you into intense excitement or powerful anxiety. Which will it be? Make a plan that allows space for excitement. Consider what began in February of 2017 and see how this weekend’s excitement or anxiety stems from that. Watch and consider cultural and political changes. Expect the unexpected.

This may offer new perspectives as you move forward with confidence in your most progressive ideas and goals.

At 7:56 PM EST, the Sun, still in Pisces, forms a lovely sextile to powerful Pluto offering the opportunity to attract and hold attention with your innate sense of self. Find and build confidence as you look into corners of your personality that have long been hidden.

STRIVE FOR ACHIEVEMENT

Monday, May 15, 2017:

You may find yourself ready and even pleased to get to work on Monday morning. With the Moon in Capricorn, it is a good time to focus your attention on those things that you want to be known and respected for. Focus on your career, aspirations, and the projects in your life that are worth striving to achieve.

The energy of the Capricorn Moon is conscious, reserved, and practical. This is a time to look clearly at the realities of your experience and take the steps necessary to gain forward motion in your job and accomplishments. You will want to be useful and productive without drama or turbulent emotions.

This is a day to develop clear boundaries and realistic goals, not a time to take risks. Pay attention to the people in your life who have the wisdom of age and experience.  Work on organizational and practical projects and duties.

As the Moon moves through conservative Capricorn, she joins with Pluto at 4:24 PM EDT, asking that you take note of where you may be out of integrity regarding issues of power and control. Pay attention and release.

Happy Birthday to Pierre Curie, Dave Battick, Kathy Holmes, Annelies Smith, Sophie Grenier, and Liesje Smith!

SIMPLIFY AND SHAKE UP YOUR THINKING

Tuesday, May 16, 2017:

Shortly after midnight Monday night, Mercury left hotheaded Aries behind to enter reliable Taurus once again. Mercury initially entered Taurus on March 31st but proceeded to retrograde back into Aries where it has remained until now. Ideas and plans that have been on the back burner are now ready to be pushed forward. While on the backburner during Mercury’s retrograde, those ideas have been reviewed, reconsidered, revised, and analyzed.

Look for new inspiration and the patience necessary to take slow, deliberate steps to manifest your desires. While Mercury is in Taurus, your thinking is slower, deeper, and more methodical. Your approach to life, in general, is more relaxed; thoughts and plans can be seen from a perspective of simplicity and clarity.

At 1:50 PM EDT, we get a boost of enthusiasm as the Moon leaves serious hard-working Capricorn behind to enter unpredictable, progressive Aquarius. Allow the world to surprise you. Move outside of your everyday mindset. Make it a point to encounter people who will stretch your view of the world. Seek out enlightened forward-looking thinkers to shake up your mind.

Happy Birthday to Henry Fonda, Woody Herman, Janet Jackson, Liberace, and NYC!

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:23 AM EDT until she enters Aquarius at 1:50 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

GATHER IN COMMUNITY

Wednesday, May 17, 2017:

The Spring Witch by George Wilson via Wiki Commons

Wednesday brings a simple day with very little astrological activity. The Moon continues through rebellious Aquarius forming easy-going social aspects to beautiful Venus and philosophical Jupiter.

While the Moon is in Aquarius, you are likely to be attracted to people, situations, and circumstances that are unusual and awe-inspiring. You may want to explore what it means to be a true individual without being held back by convention or society. Personal freedom, humanitarian interests, and progressive change take on powerful importance. You may want to break out of whatever box you feel contained in and explore new ideas, beliefs, and cultural viewpoints.

This is an excellent time to consider how your life fits into the wider world of humanity. What is the role that you play in your culture? What can you do in the world to create positive change? How can you join with others to make a difference? The Aquarius Moon spurs us to common human connections with less emphasis on emotional attachment. Find interesting gatherings of people who will expand your thinking.

Happy Birthday to Laurie Cartwright, Diane Doll, and Eric Satie!

THE BIG PICTURE

Thursday, May 18, 2017:

With all the dysfunction and craziness on display in the news and politics, it is important that we take advantage of joyful, flowing days like today! The Moon continues through unconventional Aquarius keeping our minds open to a bigger picture of life.

You may feel on a roll as all aspects the Moon makes during the day are aspects of positive flow and opportunities. People you encounter are apt to be more approachable than normal and generally in an upbeat frame of mind.

As the Aquarius Moon reaches the midpoint between Saturn and Uranus (forming a sextile aspect to each), we simultaneously enjoy a sense of excitement and stability, individuality, and determination.

At 8:33 PM EDT, we encounter the Last Quarter Moon in Aquarius, you may struggle to understand the cost of your actions and priorities. Keep moving forward as the exact trine aspect between Saturn and Uranus (Friday) will powerfully support forward motion.

As the day ends, the Moon slips quietly into compassionate, fanciful Pisces bringing a gentle sense of the surreal to the next few days.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:33 PM EDT until she enters Pisces at 11:52 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Happy Birthday to Frank Capra, Bertrand Russell, and Robin Shelton!

READY FOR AN UPGRADE

Friday, May 19, 2017:

A powerful flowing trine aspect has been building between Saturn and Uranus all week reaching its pinnacle on Friday. This is one of the major astrological influences of 2017 and represents a powerful shift in life as we know it. This aspect formed its first exact ‘hit’ at the end of December of 2016 and will make a final exact ‘hit’ in November of 2017.

Look to your chart for 26° Sagittarius and 26° Aries for more information on where this occurs in your individual life.

This combination of planetary energies can support you in making powerful and even radical change in your life. Uranus brings innovation and inspiration to whatever you are creating, while Saturn offers determination and maturity. Together, you can make unimaginable forward motion or it may simply happen seemingly without effort! Something very significant is ready for an upgrade that will bring greater integrity and inspiration into your life!

On an interesting personal note… I am just now making this connection. Recently, I went to sleep one day and literally, woke up a vegan. Yes, that would be this aspect at work! Let me know how it manifests in your life!

Another significant transit occurs at 10:11 AM EDT with lovely Venus opposing enthusiastic Jupiter. This is a lovely and dynamic combination; be alert to love and other resources being offered. Be careful not to fall into a trap of overspending or over giving. Please try to enjoy this combination. Kindness and generosity can be offered and received.

With the Moon continuing through Pisces, allow yourself to drift in compassionate love and deep pleasure.

Happy Birthday to Leda Wolfe Hoppe!

SUN ENTERS GEMINI:  TALK ABOUT IT!

Saturday, May 20, 2017:

The Moon continues through Pisces on Saturday encouraging us to remain connected to our dreams and our imagination. While the Sun is still in Taurus (until 4:30 PM EDT), you may want to take a nap, meditate, or rest to prepare for the increased energy ahead.

At 4:30 PM EDT, the all-powerful Sun leaves the deliberate, consistent growth of Taurus behind to enter a period of enthusiastic movement. As the Sun changes signs month-to-month, we feel the atmosphere profoundly shifting. Over the past month, there has been the sense of steady, slow, determined movement.

Now, as the Sun comes into Gemini, everything shifts into quick, less stable expansion. While the Sun is in Gemini, you will want to join together with others, share and gather information, and come to understand the perspectives of those around you. You are curious, restless, and inquisitive. You will want to communicate more, explore new ideas, and consider more options.

Watch yourself for the tendency to talk more than you listen. Listening is a skill that we must pay attention to. Your own voice will only reflect what you already know. Learning requires paying attention to others through questions and listening. Show respect to those you encounter with your curiosity, your questions, and your focused ability to listen. You may be surprised at what you learn!

Talk. Communicate. Listen. Learn. Ask questions.

The Pisces Moon becomes VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) at 11:39 PM EDT. Unless you get up awfully early Saturday (the Moon enters Aries at 6:11 AM EDT on Sunday), this will not have an impact. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Happy Birthday to Candi Foss and Cher!

A MORNING ADVENTURE

Sunday, May 21, 2017:

Bright and early, the Moon enters dynamic, impatient Aries forming an energizing sextile aspect to the Sun which is newly in Gemini. The energy of this combination should not be wasted. Plan ahead to get up early and move quickly into a day of action and adventure.

Get yourself out into nature to watch how quickly the world is changing with new growth and expanding vegetation. A hike or a canoe trip down the river would be perfect for an early morning enterprise.

Later in the day, things quiet down and it will be good to have the afternoon to relax and spend time on your own. At this point in the cycle, the Moon is waning (New Moon on May 25th). Consider holding off on any rash plans, decisions or projects until the Moon begins increasing once again.

The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Aries at 6:11 AM EDT.  Unless you are up very early this will have no impact on your day. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Happy Birthday to Belladonna, Ellen Brown, and Michael Gilman!

The Lunar Nodes change signs on Tuesday!

As the transiting Lunar Nodes move through the signs, they impact our lives through our natal charts. The Nodes also remind us of the path our soul is asking us to follow.

Phantasy by William Savage Cooper via Wiki Commons

On Tuesday, May 9th, the Lunar Nodes move into the fixed signs of the Leo/Aquarius axis. Since mid-November of 2015, they have been in the mutable signs of Virgo/Pisces. Due to the Lunar Nodes moving primarily in a retrograde motion, they enter this axis at 29° Leo/Aquarius and will remain in these signs for approximately one and a half years.

During this time, the Leo area of your chart will become a more prominent sphere of growth. The Aquarius area of your chart may feel more vulnerable and require attention as you work through challenges there. You may experience a strong shift, what feels like an insistence toward expressing your creative gifts more freely in the Leo arena as you reach your fullest potential in this area of your life.

The last time the Lunar Nodes moved through the Leo/Aquarius axis was between February 2008 and August 2009. At that time, it was the North Node in Aquarius and the South Node in Leo, the opposite of where they are currently moving toward and will be inhabiting May 9th.

The last time the North Node was in Leo and the South Node in Aquarius was between October 1998 and April 2000. Do you remember what was happening in your life during those periods of time? How do circumstances that occurred during those times relate to where you are currently? How can those past occurrences inform the steps you can take in the areas of your life being affected over the next one and a half years?

Do you want to learn astrology but don’t know where to begin? Would you like to acquire the knowledge and understanding regarding this complex way of looking at the world? I’ve been referred to as a wonderful, heartfelt teacher and I will help to lead you gently down the path to greater understanding of astrology and your own life path.

KINDNESS WITH INTEGRITY

Monday, May 8, 2017:

Monday’s gracious Libra Moon struggles for balance as she encounters challenging aspects to mighty Pluto, thoughtful Mercury, and uncommon Uranus throughout the day. I understand that you want harmony but keep uppermost in your mind that you cannot create that balanced state of relationships on the back of dishonesty or lack of integrity. If you say yes when your truth is screaming “No”, be clear that you are creating major disharmony, even if your desire is good will.

Make sure that you are crystal clear regarding your answer to any requests made of you. If your true answer to a request is no but you think you SHOULD say yes, pay attention to that red flag! Say ‘No’ emphatically. This is a day when you need to be very clear about what is true for you. Harmony is created through integrity toward yourself and others. There are no shortcuts.

Be kind without selling yourself down the river.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:59 PM EDT until she enters Scorpio in the wee hours of Tuesday morning at 1:01 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

EMPOWERMENT – BLESSED FLOW

Tuesday, May 9, 2017:

Tuesday brings the issues of power and empowerment to the table – front and center! While you slept, the Moon entered Scorpio, bringing your emotions to a deep dive into intensity and passion.

At 2:23 PM EDT, the Sun at 19 degrees Taurus forms a helpful, supportive trine aspect to Pluto at 19 degrees Capricorn. Remember, Pluto represents the process of metamorphosis. When Pluto is involved in a challenging transit or aspect, (a square, an opposition, and sometimes a conjunction), there is struggle and difficulty with the process of deeply significant change. When the aspect is positive, (as in a sextile or a trine), the process is often imbued with deep empowerment and a sense of blessed flow.

If you know the houses in your chart that these planets and aspects fall in, you will have a better idea of where this flow wants to express itself in your life.

Perhaps, a webinar to help you see where these planets and aspects fall in your chart would be helpful. Would you be interested? Let me know!

In the very early hours of Wednesday morning at 1:19 AM EDT, Mercury forms a powerful conjunction with Uranus. The energy of this planet has been working with us for the past week or so and finally, the transit becomes exact. You may find that your mind is focused on demands for freedom, equality, and justice. You may be surprised by ideas and thoughts that come to life over the coming days.

Mercury conjunct Uranus is the beginning of a cycle that screams, “Wake up”! What are you going to do with this one precious life? How can you help in the demand for freedom and equality? Wake up!

SCORPIO FULL MOON – WAKE UP

Wednesday, May 10, 2017:

Red Girl & Knight by John William Waterhouse via Wiki Commons

While you slept, the conjunction between Mercury and Uranus became exact at 1:19 AM EDT. Pay attention to the demand for freedom of thought and expression. Where do you feel this freedom being hindered? What can you do to wake yourself and others up to what needs to be changed and shifted on this planet? How can you help to bring equality to all?

Do not be overwhelmed; change occurs when we each take tiny steps to support the larger steps of others who are able and willing. Wake up and then take action!

At 5:43 PM EDT, the Lunar Cycle reaches its pinnacle at the powerful Scorpio Full Moon. What seed did you plant at the New Moon two weeks ago? How has that process developed? What intensity has developed and is in clear view at this time?

Read Tuesday’s post about the movement of the Nodal Axis and pay attention to a drive toward expression and the necessity to awaken.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:43 PM EDT until she enters Sagittarius at 1:00 PM EDT on Thursday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DEEPER CLARITY BY EVENING

Thursday, May 11, 2017:

On Thursday, the depth and intensity of the Scorpio Moon gives way to the desire for adventure and a more expansive understanding as the Moon enters Sagittarius at 1:00 PM EDT.

However, the lighter sense that Sagittarius generally brings is quickly colored by a blurred understanding of the day’s circumstance when assertive Mars forms an uncomfortable square to murky Neptune at 1:52 PM EDT. This pattern may reflect a loss of perspective, leaving you somewhat confused about the direction you want to go or the path you would like to take. Rest in this fluid state, do not allow it to overwhelm you. Spend a few hours in quiet contemplation.

When cerebral Mercury forms an easy trine aspect to Saturn at 4:14 PM EDT, you are able to see more clearly and understand how your thinking directs the realities of your circumstances and your life. Clarity is welcomed and your mind and communications gain much needed clarity.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Sagittarius at 1:00 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

ENTHUSIASM & FUN

Friday, May 12, 2017:

You may notice that it is much easier to get out of bed this morning than is often the case on a Friday morning.

Dynamic Mars forms a lovely flowing trine aspect to generous Jupiter at 6:18 AM EDT. This energy of expansion and optimism should stay with you for the bulk of the day. You may feel a slight confusion or discomfort around 5:00 PM EDT when the extroverted Sagittarius Moon forms a challenging square to disorienting Neptune. Take this as a suggestion to take a nap before a fun Friday evening adventure.

At 5:58 PM EDT, the Sagittarius Moon forms an exciting sextile aspect to cheery Jupiter encouraging you to entertain, mingle, or somehow expand your social circle.

At 6:45 PM EDT, when opinionated Sagittarius Moon opposes combative Mars, you will do well to pay attention to how you express your more passionate opinions.

It may be easy to speak too loudly or otherwise offend someone with your point of view. Be respectful, watch what you say, and plan for a fun night of social pleasure.

LOOK AHEAD

Saturday, May 13, 2017:

Saturday’s explorative Sagittarius Moon moves quietly through the day allowing you to pay attention to the details of the weekend. She is so slow it is almost as though she is saving her energy for evening.

At 5:46 PM EDT, the far-reaching Sagittarius Moon trine unpredictable Uranus, encouraging you to seek inspiration and an exciting adventure to sink your teeth into.

At 6:57 PM EDT, when the Moon joins with deliberate Saturn, you may become aware of more somber outcomes or responsibilities that could be ignited by your adventures. Allow that seriousness to pass (remember, Moon transits pass quickly) and open your thinking to the future.

At 10:15 PM EDT, the Moon trine thoughtful Mercury, allowing you to say and express your ideas openly with enthusiasm and clarity. Enjoy the evening as Sunday will bring with it seriousness and focus on the path ahead.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 10:15 PM EDT until she enters Capricorn in the wee hours of Sunday morning at 1:38 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

FOCUS & PATIENCE

Sunday, May 14, 2017:

When you begin the day, you will immediately be aware of a profound difference in how you feel, and the quality of light within and without. After several days of excitement with the Sagittarius Moon, she has now entered Capricorn bringing you face-to-face with cold, sober reality.

This is a day of thoughtful, deliberate determination. You could spend the day working on any difficult projects that requires focused work and patience.

By the end of the day, you may feel highly accomplished in any number of areas of your life. Perhaps, you should get a jump on the coming week. Make a list of all the things you could do that would assist in a week of ‘easy flow’.

Is there a topic you need to study to be prepared for the week ahead? You could prepare meals or make sure your laundry is done for the upcoming week. This is not a day for frivolous play but a day to focus in order for the coming days to move more smoothly.

If you find yourself with time on your hands, offer your services to help others get move ahead or prepare for the upcoming path.
