When the planets gather in the early and the late degrees of their respective signs with none in the middle degrees, we can encounter very long periods of the Moon being Void of Course. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

This week we have several unusually long VOC* Moon periods; on Monday we have five hours, Wednesday she will be VOC* the entire day (actually more than 24 hours) and Saturday she is void very nearly the entire day!

Take this as a suggestion for lowering your demands on yourself and others; go ahead and take some downtime, get caught up on mundane tasks.

Friday and Saturday will be dominated by a beautiful Grand Water Trine involving lovely Venus, expansive Jupiter, and dreamy Neptune. These will be perfect days for love, romance, compassion, nurturing, and kindness.

ENJOY THE PLAN

Monday, May 28, 2018:

With the Moon in Scorpio on Monday, you will want to reach deep into your emotions. Take a personal risk by looking into your own dark emotional closet. Tell a secret or ferret one out. Show yourself to be deeply understanding, trustworthy, and a true friend. Keep a secret; respect the privacy of others.

At 1:26 PM EDT, with the Moon opposing Mercury, you may find yourself drawn into an argument that has no winner. Let it go. Don’t engage. It is a passing issue that will be soon forgotten if you don’t allow yourself to get wrapped up in whatever the issue is. Release. Breathe.

At 6:29 PM EDT, the Moon enters Sagittarius, offering an evening with more lightness and the potential for fun, engagement, and planning. Sit down with a partner or friend after dinner and plan your summer vacation or a long weekend away. The planning can be nearly as much fun as the event itself.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:26 PM EDT until she enters Sagittarius at 6:29 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SAGITTARIUS FULL MOON – CELEBRATE AN OPEN MIND

Tuesday, May 29, 2018:

Tuesday’s Sagittarius Full Moon occurs at 10:20 AM EDT. Full Moons happen when the Sun is in the opposite position from the Moon. This highlights your ability to see both sides of a situation. Clarity is the name of the game. Your circumstances, for good or ill, come into sharp focus during a Full Moon. Your emotions are highlighted and awareness is heightened.

Think back to the New Moon on May 15th. What did you begin, what seed did you plant at that time? How has that seed grown? Where has it brought you? Any goals you set at the New Moon can now be adjusted as you are able to see the situation more clearly. The illumination of the Full Moon will stay with you for several days.

At 7:48 PM EDT, Mercury (the planet of communication and your thought processes) leaves the sweet stability of Taurus behind to enter chatty, restless Gemini. Mercury is delighted to be in Gemini and will spend the coming weeks gathering information and bring sharp focus to your mind. Consider what house Gemini resides in your chart to get an idea of what your mind will be busy with over the coming weeks.

EXPLORE, DREAM, PRAY

Wednesday, May 30, 2018:

The predominant feature of Wednesday is the fact that the Sagittarius Moon is VOC* for the entire day! We encounter a VOC* Moon every two to three days, lasting anywhere from a few seconds to well over twenty-four hours, depending on the position of the other planets. VOC* stands for Void Of Course; not, of course, it is void, but it is Void of its Course.

The VOC* Moon begins when the transiting Moon forms its final major aspect in one sign of the zodiac and remains VOC* until it enters the next sign. These periods of time are best utilized in spiritual or nonmaterial concerns; rest, rejuvenate, play, pray, meditate, or simply BE!

Don’t make decisions or begin projects that you have high expectations of or any expectations of. During VOC* Moon times, you simply don’t have a full grasp of the reality of a given situation.

Spend Wednesday getting caught up on mundane tasks or better yet, with the Moon in exploration loving Sagittarius, take a walk, dream, wonder, or pray.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:26 AM EDT until she enters Capricorn on Thursday morning at 5:27 AM EDT. This is a VERY LONG VOC* Moon. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

ACCOMPLISHMENT AND INNOVATION

Thursday, May 31, 2018:

Following Wednesday’s lack of accomplishment and impracticality, Thursday brings you back to the table and sets you on solid and ambitious ground. By the time you wake up on Thursday morning, the Moon has entered authoritative, hard-working Capricorn and you are ready to tackle your most realistic goals once again.

As the Moon trine Uranus at 7:02 AM EDT, you are able to find excitement and view your circumstances or projects from an unusual perspective; you are able to see innovative solutions to serious problems.

At 8:53 PM EDT, the authoritative Capricorn Moon joins with serious Saturn; you may find yourself embroiled in difficult conversations or even disciplinary necessities within your home or family. Regardless of the infractions or hard edges you feel, practice understanding, compassion, and kindness in all family matters. Gather information, ask questions, and listen with an open mind and heart.

EXPRESS INNOVATION – EXPAND BEAUTY

Friday, June 1, 2018:

You can anticipate great delight in getting your point across on Friday morning Conversations abound and direct communications flow easily with a trine aspect from Mercury to Mars. With Mercury in its home sign of chatty Gemini and Mars in innovative Aquarius, your ideas will stretch you into an exciting future. You are able to express your most innovative and interesting ideas and have those ideas received with ease.

At nearly the same time, Venus trine Jupiter supports the expansion of those conversations and the development of something of real solid value from them. Are you using your forward thinking to develop something of beauty and something that will support your life with practical, real-world results? You are able to see the possibilities fully.

Friday is a powerful day leading into a delightful weekend. Of course, there may be some bumps along the way but all-in-all, with a Grand Trine being formed between Venus, Jupiter, and Neptune, allow yourself to dream big and see the beauty that exists in your life.

DELIGHT IN SWEET SENSUALITY

Saturday, June 2, 2018:

The lovely and powerful Grand Trine that began to draw around us on Friday continues and strengthens on Saturday. Before you arise from the warmth of sleep, Venus has formed a flowing trine aspect to Neptune. You can expect to start the day with a sense of bliss and love. This is a lovely morning for romance. Go out to brunch or better yet have coffee and breakfast in bed. If your love is at your side enjoy cuddling and connection; if you are alone enjoy and delight in your own sweet sensuality.

At 6:07 PM EDT, with the Moon’s movement into objective Aquarius you may notice yourself or your partner pull away; do not take it personally. Perhaps there has been a bit too much sweetness and now you need a bit of autonomy. Widen your interest, look to a more expansive or humanitarian perspective.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from Friday at 11:37 PM EDT until she enters the Aquarius at 6:07 PM EDT. This is ANOTHER VERY LONG VOC* Moon. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

PIVOT IN A NEW DIRECTION

Sunday, June 3, 2018:

Get up early on Sunday morning to connect with friends and engage in unusual social interactions. This is a great day to meet up with new friends, or people who you have political or social commonalities with. Don’t fall back on brunch with the same standby crew of friends. This is the time to seek out new ideas and people with different worldviews to expand your own.

You are curious and interested in seeing the same old situations in a new light and from a different perspective. Ask questions, see if you can open your mind to thoughts you have never understood before. Your mind is sharp and it will open to new patterns that can pivot your life forward.

GENEROSITY OF HEART

Monday, May 21, 2018:

Monday is a quiet day with the creative Leo Moon forming no major aspects to any planets throughout the day.

While the Moon is in expressive playful Leo, it may be difficult to focus on a job or other practical endeavors. You would probably prefer to play with children or engage in creative pursuits. Keep in mind that the higher purpose of Leo is the development of generosity and open-hearted love. Pay attention to your interactions with others; pay attention to the generosity of your own heart.

At 10:02 PM EDT, the Moon enters Virgo which will make Tuesday an easier day to get back to the practical realities of the work week.

The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) all day until she enters Virgo at 10:02 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

EXPRESS YOUR DREAMS

Tuesday, May 22, 2018:

Tuesday’s practical Virgo Moon helps you focus on simple productivity throughout the day. This should be an easy day to work with detailed information and mundane tasks. With the Moon trine Saturn at 12:20 PM EDT, you are able to see clearly what needs to be done and face the responsibilities at hand.

A sextile aspect forms from Mercury to Neptune as the evening approaches. Your focus will shift as conversations and ideas take on a softer tone. This is a good evening to soothe any harsh edges that may recently have been created between yourself and others. It will be easy to express a gentler more sensitive perceptive. This will be a great evening for any project that entails creative writing or the expression of your dreams.

Head to sleep early and you can avoid a tendency to say more than is advisable. Watch that pillow talk as Mercury opposes Jupiter in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

GET YOUR POINT ACROSS

Wednesday, May 23, 2018:

In the early morning hours, pay attention to what should and shouldn’t be said or openly expressed. The opposition of Mercury to Jupiter could have you saying what you didn’t mean to say. Once the day is in full swing that won’t be a problem.
The Moon remains in Virgo forming supportive aspects that will provide a smooth, effective day.

You may want to stay up late on Wednesday night to give a mighty push forward on a project or other endeavors.

You very well may have too much energy to fall into an easy, gentle sleep. At 10:39 PM EDT, a gratifying trine aspect forms between the talkative Gemini Sun to assertive Mars, now in Aquarius. Your ability to creatively use your mind and communication skills is powerful. Engage in an active discussion, debate, or lively conversation. You should be able to get your point across.

The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 10:56 AM EDT until she enters Libra Thursday morning at 2:51 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DIPLOMACY AND KINDNESS

Thursday, May 24, 2018:

Your spirits feel quite buoyed as you begin the day on Thursday with the Moon newly in peace-loving Libra. A Grand Trine is formed as the Libra Moon lines up to a trine aspect to both Mars and the Sun before 9:00 AM EDT. This is a lovely way to begin the day!

The afternoon and evening bring some challenges as the Moon forms difficult aspects to both relationship oriented Venus and restrictive Saturn. You may notice yourself or others being moody or downright cranky.

Don’t let these quickly passing influences change your course. Continue moving forward utilizing the Libra Moon’s ability to see both sides of all situations, and engage in kindness and diplomacy. Focus your attention on bringing beauty and love to all people and situations you encounter.

ALLOW VULNERABILITY; CULTIVATE TRUST

Friday, May 25, 2018:

You awake Friday morning with the gentle reassurance of where you find yourself in your life. At 5:52 AM EDT, expansive Jupiter forms a flowing trine aspect to dreamy Neptune. Your higher understanding and spiritual awareness support expansion and unconditional trust in the higher purpose of your life.

Shortly thereafter, another trine aspect forms between Mercury and Pluto. There are powerful truths to be told. These may entail difficult conversations, perhaps the need to speak of things that are normally kept undercover in your family or social circle. However, you are feeling the strength in your opinions and are willing to stand strong in what needs to be expressed.

At 5:04 PM EDT, with a square aspect from the Libra Moon to Pluto, anger may arise. This is a Moon transit and will pass quickly, do not let it push aside the benefits of what you have accomplished earlier in the day. You may want to spend an hour or two alone in the early evening. Keeping with your own good company will prevent tempers from quick unproductive flare-ups.

With an overnight opposition from Venus to Saturn, Friday night and Saturday may show clearly where hidden rifts reside in your intimate partnerships. Look reality in the eye and allow for deep vulnerability. Do your best to see the situation from the perspective of each person involved. Allow vulnerability; cultivate trust.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:04 PM EDT until she enters Scorpio on Saturday morning at 9:39 AM Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

CLARITY AND ADJUSTMENTS

Saturday, May 26, 2018:

While you were sleeping, Venus (the planet of love, money, and personal values) opposed Saturn (the planet of reality and stabilization). This provides the ability to clearly see what you have recently developed in your partnerships, finances, and other areas of deeply personal values. The cycle between Venus and Saturn is a cycle of stabilizing love and personal values. This cycle began in late December 2017; consider what began at that time. The growth of what was planted then is now clearly visible.

Make adjustments that are needed now. Look clearly at any mistakes and make changes now. Look clearly at your successes and continue forward with determination. Your understanding of these things may be very different from the perspective of others. Embrace the ambiguity of opinions.

At 9:39 AM EDT, the Moon enters Scorpio, profoundly deepening your emotions. Superficial connections and conversations will not cut the mustard. Go deep. Connect profoundly.

The Libra Moon is VOC* until she enters Scorpio at 9:39 AM. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DIG DEEPLY

Sunday, May 27, 2018:

Sunday’s Scorpio Moon offers a day for delving deeply into complex emotions and deep connections. The Moon touches off sweetness and expansion throughout the day providing a sense of mystery and dreaminess. You have the patience and concentration to dig deep and find the rich compost beneath what may appear unsightly on the surface.

This is a great day to tackle tasks or conversations that require a clear and focused mind. Look below the surface, dig deeper. You may be surprised to find solutions to long unresolved issues.

Throw away what is no longer needed or useful in your life. Make space for what delights you. Allow change.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 14, 2018 through May 20, 2018

This is the week we have all been waiting for!

The powerful New Moon on Tuesday joins the shift of Uranus into Taurus, Mars into Aquarius, and the challenging square aspect formed between Uranus and Mars on Wednesday.

A story is being fleshed out that speaks about your urge to break any rules necessary to become your most authentic self, regardless of the opinions and desires of others.

Because of the upcoming Mars retrograde, there will be three steps to this process and Mars will square Uranus three times.

The first view of the upcoming story occurs this week (it has been building in the background), full understanding comes in August, and the story will wrap-up in September.

Where in your life are you feeling the need for major, powerful change? Don’t fight it. I envision each of us waiting on a precipice.

There are choices to be made. You can take the initiative and jump, you can wait until you are pushed, or you may simply fall over the edge!

I recommend that you determine your highest truth and jump in the direction that will most invigorate that truth and allow you to express your most creative, wild side.

There is no point in attempting to hold a hard line of convention or stability.
As has been said: “The times they are a-changin‘.” Allow yourself to be moved.

“For all its complexity, however, astrology remains fundamentally simple. It offers a time-honored system of symbols that sum up key aspects of human life while providing profound insights and practical guidance.” ~Anne M. Nordhaus-Bike

SAVOR YOUR SENSES

Monday, May 14, 2018:

Monday’s Taurus Moon is in her darkest phase as she moves toward Tuesday’s New Moon. Go inward and contemplate the changes that are just pushing you into a new reality. The Taurus Moon wants calm and stability. Perhaps, you can hold onto a tiny piece of that quiet, just for this day.

Stabilize your emotions through sensual care of your body. Get a massage, take a bubble bath, dress in your most beautiful clothes. Connect, honor, and love your body. Savor all of your senses. Pay attention to the beauty around you, or cook a delicious meal.

With the big changes occurring all around you, it will help to keep complications to a minimum. Don’t allow drama to pull you in. Keep quiet. Touch the beauty of simplicity.

TAURUS NEW MOON
DISRUPTION – CHANGE – REVOLUTION

Tuesday, May 15, 2018:

Tuesday’s Taurus New Moon is highly significant coming as it does on the same day that Uranus (the planet of disruption, change, and revolution) enters Taurus. This is a powerful shift, do not underestimate its ability to move your life in a new direction.

What house in your chart holds Taurus? This is the area of your life that is demanding change. Don’t try to avoid the profound shifts that are in the wings in the coming months. Allow yourself to be moved.

Take advantage of the New Moon being in the same sign by planting a seed that will support the changes you want to see in this area of your life. Think big as the change available is not a minor one!

At 7:48 AM EDT, the Sun joins the Moon at 24 degrees Taurus (the New Moon). Wait a day or even two but do not neglect your New Moon Ritual. Keep your ritual simple. Being in Taurus the intention you set will focus on maintaining stability in the face of the big shifts that Uranus is bringing.

If you know what house in your birth chart holds Taurus, it will help you clarify what intention is needed. For example, if Taurus is in your 1st house, set an intention to maintain personal stability even as Uranus is shaking up your personality, in the 4th house, set an intention to maintain stability and calm in your family relationships or your home environment, even as Uranus is pushing for something shockingly new. If Taurus is in the 7th house, perhaps you need to bring calm and love to your committed partnership even as the relationship undergoes a sea of change. If it is in the 10th house, you may need to continue honoring your commitments even as you allow yourself to bring revolutionary changes to your work or business.

If you don’t know what house is involved, simply go with your intuition regarding the area of life that requires calm, stable, predictability. Better yet, make an appointment for a consultation. Make your appointment today!

~~New Moon Ritual ~~
Take a moment to write down the changes you wish to begin, create, or increase in the upcoming Moon Cycle.
Have two candles available. Light a candle to represent yourself, as you are at the moment. Light another candle as an aspiration of what you intend to create. Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle, then light the second candle, focusing on drawing to you what you want to create, bringing the two candles closer together. Do this each day until at the Full Moon, you will bring them fully together and acknowledge the result of what you have created.
The Taurus New Moon suggests that you plant a seed of loyalty, patience, dependability, and calm. This energy will be dearly needed in the coming months.
At 4:43 PM EDT, the Moon enters Gemini, bringing more curiosity into the evening hours. There is much you want to talk to others about as you evaluate the changes you feel coming.
The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection)for only a matter of minutes from 4:29 PM EDT until she enters Gemini at 4:43 PM Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Consider that the last time Uranus was in Taurus was between 1934 – 1942. Think about what was happening in the world during those years.

SEEK EXCITEMENT AND INSPIRATION

Wednesday, May 16, 2018:

Much has occurred before you even wake up on Wednesday morning. Mars has left Capricorn behind where he has been pushing a serious agenda of work and ambition. He is now in Aquarius where he will remain until mid-November; staying so long due to a retrograde this summer. Mars in Aquarius suggests that your energy levels are less predictable, you may be more interested in group dynamics that in your own advancement. You are able to detach from your emotions when anger or difficulties arise.

Uranus entering Taurus and Mars entering Aquarius sets these two dynamic players up for an intensely challenging conversation. Mars and Uranus will form three highly challenging square aspects over the coming months. There will be one now, another again in August, and finally the last in September.

You will get the first taste of the story now, the plot will flesh out in August, and reach its conclusion in September. You will spend the months following that assimilating the full storyline.

Keep in mind that Mars is the planet of direct action, anger, and war. Uranus is the planet of defiance, innovation, and revolution. Watch the world, the culture, your life and the lives of those you encounter. Choose to find excitement, reach for inspiration, and seek unusual change.

With the Moon in chatty Gemini, there is certainly much to talk about. Listen and gather the information that you need to make the best decisions in this new environment.

FOLLOW YOUR CURIOSITY

Thursday, May 17, 2018:

Can you expect to rest on Thursday? That depends on many factors and on the circumstances of the past few weeks.

This is a day to share information and emotional realities with others with the talkative Gemini Moon on board for most of the day.

The Moon rests between 2:18 PM EDT and 5:48 PM EDT, if possible you should do so as well. The evening will call you to spend time with family and loved ones as the Moon enters Cancer at 5:48 PM EDT. At 6:00 PM EDT. with a sextile to Uranus, your contacts with family or loved ones may bring unusual information or unexpected news.

Take everything in stride, look for the places that call you with curiosity or excitement. People often say to follow your passion but many (I would say most) folks don’t know what their passion is. The thing to follow is your curiosity. Think about the things that call to you, that light up your eyes; follow those things and you will find the excitement that will fill your life with passion.

The Gemini Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:18 PM EDT until she enters Cancer at 5:48 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SMOOTH RUFFLED FEATHERS

Friday, May 18, 2018:

Friday offers more stability as you find your feet more firmly on the ground with Mercury (the planet of thoughts and communication) forming a supportive trine aspect to stable, grounded Saturn.

Consider what seed for stability you may have planted in mid-January at the conjunction between Mercury and Saturn. The gift from anything begun at that time is likely offered now. You have built something in your conversations or your thinking that is able to help stabilize you now. Rest in this.

Friday is a good day to talk with family members, smooth any ruffled feathers, share a meal, and extend mutual good will.

TAKE A RISK IN LOVE OR MONEY

Saturday, May 19, 2018:

Since April 24th Venus (the planet of love, beauty, and possessions) has been in Gemini, encouraging curiosity, thinking, and conversations about your values regarding love and money. On Saturday, Venus leaves that behind to enter sensitive Cancer. Now, you will notice a deeper emotional connection to these issues. You may be more interested in cuddling with a partner than in discussing the relationship. Watch your spending patterns as you are more likely to spend from an emotional need rather than a practical one. When you are feeling overly emotional over the coming weeks, leave those credit cards at home. Venus will remain in Cancer until June 13th.

At 1:30 PM EDT, Venus forms a sextile to unpredictable Uranus. Expect the unexpected regarding your values. You may suddenly come to a new understanding of your love relationships or your relationship to money or beauty. Sextiles provide opportunities, not gifts. Look for any opportunities that present themselves, go ahead and take a risk. Under the influence of this sextile, any opportunity that shows up regarding love or money is very likely to land you in a good place. Go ahead.

At 7:11 PM EDT, the Moon leaves maternal Cancer behind to enter playful, expressive Leo. She makes some stressful aspects over the course of the evening so watch that you are not overbearing in your enthusiasm. It will help considerably if you find the right folks to spend the evening with that appreciate your more dynamic self.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:04 PM EDT until she enters Gemini on Wednesday morning at 8:03 AM Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SUN ENTERS GEMINI – LEARN SOMETHING NEW

Sunday, May 20, 2018:

Sunday offers a relatively simple day of creativity and dramatic expression. The Moon remains in vital Leo throughout the day allowing you to relax and play before heading into another work week.

You can count on the upcoming work week feeling very different from the past few weeks as the Sun leaves steadfast, slow-moving Taurus behind and enters versatile perceptive Gemini at 10:14 PM EDT.

With the Sun in Gemini, everything seems to speed up. Your mind moves more quickly and you want to share your thoughts with others. You may be less attached to your emotions and more interested in intellectual pursuits. The Sun’s transit through Gemini tends to be more lighthearted as you are busy exploring new ideas and learning new things.

Spend time at that library, attend a lecture, talk to those who know what you would like to learn, teach those who are interested in what you know.

That we can now think of no mechanism for astrology is relevant but unconvincing. No mechanism was known, for example, for continental drift when it was proposed by Wegener. Nevertheless, we see that Wegener was right, and those who objected on the grounds of unavailable mechanism were wrong.

Monday brings us to the beginning of another three-week Mercury retrograde. Get to work right away making a list of everything that has been left undone over the past few months. Over the next three weeks, you can get a lot accomplished if you stick to working from that list!

Mars changes sign on Monday moving from unique, eccentric Aquarius into mystical, sensitive Pisces. Remember, that Mars represents your ability to take action. Mars is not delighted to be in Pisces, although artists, poets, and mystics can move forward delightfully at this time.

On Wednesday, we come to the Winter Solstice, when the Sun leaves the fun of Sagittarius behind to enter the serious, cautious ground of Capricorn.

The Winter Solstice, which occurs when the Earth’s axial tilt is farthest away from the sun, lasts only an instant in time (December 21, 2016 at 5:44 AM EST), and occurs on the shortest day and longest night of the year. The Sun’s daily maximum position in the sky is at the lowest point in the year at this time as well. The seasonal significance of the Winter Solstice is in the reversal of the gradual lengthening of nights and shortening of days. The light will return.

Are you up against a difficult decision, or are you questioning your current life, love, or career direction?

An astrological consultation with Astrolore or Jennie will clearly show you the larger picture at play, the universal directional path.

We are both taking new clients and would love to meet with you.

4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde!

When Mercury turns retrograde, everywhere I turn someone will ask (with trepidation and a touch of fear in their eyes) is Mercury turning retrograde AGAIN??

There is so much unnecessary fear and misinformation around Mercury’s retrograde cycles.

I am going to keep these instructions very simple!

  1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned!

I know that it is easier said than done, but please forget all the terrible things you have heard about Mercury retrograde! There are no astrological conditions that we need to block from ourselves in fear! We simply need to pay attention to the best use of certain times and Mercury retrograde is one of them.

I honestly LOVE Mercury’s retrograde cycle! I feel like I can finally catch up with all the things that have been left undone since the last retrograde cycle!

After years of watching and working with Mercury’s retrograde cycles, I have come to love these brief periods scattered throughout the year. I feel that they are a gift. We simply must know how to use them!

  1. Get a notebook and a pen – Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed in the past few months.

Start with a clean sheet of paper, quiet your mind, and think back over the past few months. On September 22, 2016, Mercury turned direct at 14° Virgo. Since then, he has zipped along through Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and into Capricorn at 15° where he is now turning retrograde.

Think about what you have been doing since late September. Look through your calendar, your notebooks, your bills, wherever you will find reminders of everything that you have been thinking about and working on since then. Now, carefully make a list of all the things that you have begun but not completed. Dig deep; there are probably more things than you are aware of.

What about that appointment you have been meaning to make? The project that you tucked into a drawer because you couldn’t find the time to complete it? Moreover, we all have communications that have fallen through the cracks, unanswered emails, texts, and phone calls!

  1. Get to work! Accomplish what is on this list! Only what is on this list!

Once you have the list made up, it is easy to follow the perfect plan for approximately the next three weeks (Mercury turns direct once again on January 8, 2017).

Get to work, accomplish the things on this list; nothing more, nothing less. That is the whole trick of dealing with Mercury retrograde. Stick with this list!

Our lives are so busy; we zip from one project to another, from one communication to another. We never seem to have the time to slow down and carefully complete the tasks that we have begun.

Mercury retrograde brings us a gift of time to wrap up all those loose ends!

  1. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs!

This is the time for clean up only. Don’t move forward until Mercury turns direct.

If you follow these simple steps, you will be amazed at how much you can accomplish during these periods!

Good Luck and Get to Work!

WORKING WITH MERCURY RETROGRADE

Monday, December 19, 2016:

In the wee hours of Monday morning, Mars, the planet that represents assertive action, enters Pisces, the most passive of the signs. Mars will remain in Pisces until January 27th.  During this time, your usual self-confidence and ability to take action may feel that it has been turned upside down. Rather than courageously pushing forward, you may find yourself slowing down, stepping back and attempting to ‘feel’ your way forward. Pay attention to your dreams and intuitions.

At 5:55 AM EST, Mercury stations retrograde at 15° Capricorn; between the softening of your assertiveness (Mars in Pisces) and the somewhat skewed logical thinking of Mercury retrograde, you may feel a bit lost as you adapt to this new territory. Mercury will remain retrograde until January 8th.

The Moon in Virgo supports practical considerations and encourages you to improve your circumstances by reaching for your potential.

4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde!

  1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned!
  2. Get a notebook and a pen. Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed in the past few months.
  3. Get to work! Accomplish what is on this list! Only what is on this list!
  4. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs!

Mercury retrograde brings us the gift of time to wrap up loose ends!

PARADOX AND COMPLEXITY

Tuesday, December 20, 2016:

On Tuesday, you will continue adjusting to the more passive nature of Mars in Pisces and the more inward mental work of Mercury retrograde. Both of these require considerable adjustment. Take time to absorb and understand the change and the challenge. Slow down your actions and your thinking.

At 8:56 PM EST, the Virgo Moon squares the Sagittarius Sun (Third Quarter Square) suggesting that your internal and external realities seem to be working against each other. On one hand, you may be feeling free and idealistic, and yet, somewhat critical and nitpicky. It is important that you allow contradictions and paradox to exist side-by-side without trying to change either side of the equation.

At 9:39 PM EST, the Moon enters Libra, settling your expectations as you seek equanimity, calm, and a diplomatic sense of your connection to others.

The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:56 PM EST until she enters Libra at 9:39 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

SUN ENTERS CAPRICORN – SERIOUSNESS & INTEGRITY

Wednesday, December 21, 2016:

The Sun’s movement into Capricorn heralds the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice marks the longest night and shortest day of the year. We encounter late dawn and early sunsets. Meanwhile, the Southern Hemisphere has its longest day and shortest night.

Over the coming weeks, you will see the days get longer; celebrate the return of the light.

As the Sun moves into Capricorn, we enter the most serious time of the year. This is the time to focus on developing maturity and taking seriously our responsibilities and commitments. Capricorn insists that we seek accomplishment; it is important to spend time in solitude to explore and understand how closely you have aligned your life with your highest beliefs and integrity.

The upcoming month is not a time for frivolous activities; focus on accomplishment in order to create your most stable, satisfying future.

WATCH FOR OVEREXTENDING YOURSELF

Thursday, December 22, 2016:

If you have shopping still to do for your holiday celebration, be practical in your spending. With Jupiter joining with the Libra Moon at 1:30 PM EST, you could easily spend more than you intend. The possibility of over extension could show up in your emotional expenditures as well. Watch for over extension in all areas.

This will be a great day for spending time with family or loved ones. Before the Moon goes VOC*, she forms an opposition to Uranus allowing us to make unusual, exciting, or unpredictable connections with others.

By evening, quiet connection with a partner or close friend, will feel satisfying. Remember, you’re still adjusting to the changes of the past few days (Mercury retrograde, Mars entering dreamy Pisces, and the Sun entering ambitious Capricorn). Rest together, with a partner or friend. Some hours of calm quiet rest may be more important than you realize.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:32 PM EST until she enters Scorpio on Friday morning at 9:32 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

MYSTERY AND INTRIGUE

Friday, December 23, 2016:

The rest we required on Thursday evening will serve us well when the Moon enters emotionally penetrating Scorpio at 9:32 AM EST. Throughout the afternoon, this powerful Scorpio Moon engages in harmonious conversations with the Sun and Mars.

The intensity of your emotions can be used for practical purposes. You are powerfully driven to push forward as you approach your deepest desires.

This may be a simple day but the results of connections made may powerfully move your life forward.

There is no need to keep your deepest desires undercover. Allow others to support you and offer support to others, as you each engage in the transformation of your lives. A sense of mystery and intrigue show you are on the right path.

STABILIZE ECCENTRIC PROCLIVITIES

Saturday, December 24, 2016:

Saturday holds a very important transit that presents important keys to the coming months. At 7:20 PM EST, Saturn trine Uranus; this is the first of three ‘hits’ of this aspect. The second will be on May 19, 2017 and the third on November 11, 2017.

This transit brings the defiant, independent, and eccentric, revolutionary energy of Uranus and the stabilizing, responsible, conservative authority of Saturn into a harmonious conversation. Uranus questions the places where Saturn is stuck. Saturn shows Uranus how to bring responsibility and stabilization to revolutionary shocking realities.

Considering how these two energies may support each other in the midst of our current political catastrophe certainly gives us food for thought. Uranus upsets and revolutionizes; Saturn brings maturity and restriction. Keep in mind that this is a harmonious connection. Harmonious for whom, we must ask?  We have no idea what is happening behind the scenes politically; we do know there are powerful energies at work.

Within the context of your personal life, this may show up as you struggle to stabilize your more eccentric proclivities or work to break out of places where you are stuck. Much depends on where this occurs in your chart. If you have personal planets between 18 and 22 of Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), you are feeling a deep flow on these issues.

LOVE <3

Sunday, December 25, 2016:

It is a delight to find that on Sunday, which so many people are celebrating, provides us with an entire day of the Scorpio Moon VOC*. This enables us to easily relax into a holiday. There is nothing to be done. Enjoy wherever you find yourself. The Scorpio Moon encourages us to stay deeply connected to profound emotions.

Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and sensual pleasures is incredibly active on Sunday. First, she forms a lovely, flowing trine to philosophical Jupiter at 8:22 AM EST allowing your understanding of love and beauty to expand.

When she sextiles Uranus at 11:35 AM EST, she asks you to look outside of your conservative expectations to see unexpected or unusual opportunities that may be presented to create beauty or build on loving connections.

At 1:32 PM EST, she sextiles Saturn offering the possibility of mature stabilization of love. These delightful Venus aspects promise you a delightful day.

Unfortunately, of course, you may have personal transits that override all this pleasure and beauty. Even so, you will feel this; remain open to the enjoyment of it.

As you head into the evening, the Moon enters Sagittarius at 10:19 PM EST, you may want to stay up late enough to spend some time in the expansive emotional energy that comes forward at the time.

Absorb and extend outward to others, all the love that you can muster on Sunday.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:22 AM EST until she enters Sagittarius at 10:19 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, textiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: December 12, 2016 through December 18, 2016

This week begins with a bang as the Sagittarius Sun trine Uranus offering surprising revelations, innovations, and excitement.  The periods of time that the Moon is VOC are far shorter this week! What a blessing and relief!

On Tuesday, there’s a Full Moon in Gemini which brings clarity on what began at the Sagittarius New Moon two weeks ago.

If you have anything that you want to accomplish before Mercury turns retrograde, get it done as early this week as possible.

Mercury turns retrograde in the early morning hours of Monday, December 19th (at 15° Capricorn) and will remain in retrograde motion until January 8th. Keep in mind the higher purpose of Mercury retrograde is to get caught up on all projects and processes that have been left to gather dust. These are powerful periods of time for accomplishment as long as you do not move into new terrain.

EXCITEMENT

Monday, December 12, 2016:

Monday begins with a flowing trine aspect between the Sagittarius Sun and Uranus (in Aries). This is the high point of the week and the intensity will remain with us throughout Monday and Tuesday.

The full cycle of Uranus and the Sun began in early April of 2016. Did something surprising begin in your life at that time that was exciting or possibly stressful? This is a cycle of intensification and can be experienced as anxiety or excitement, depending on your relationship to Uranus and where the dance began in your personal chart.

What began in April was fully illuminated in mid-October and is now flowing with excitement and anticipation into your life.

In early January, there will be an adjustment to make but for now, enjoy the flow of anticipation that is moving you forward in a surprising new and exciting direction.

At 7:42 AM EST, the Moon enters Gemini, encouraging you to speak your mind, share your ideas and curiosity. This will be a great evening to bring a friend (or a group of friends) to dinner as the Moon forms a lovely flowing trine aspect to Venus at 5:23 PM EST. This will be a delightful evening for friendship and loving connection.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Gemini at 7:42 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

EXPANSION

Tuesday, December 13, 2016:

Tuesday brings with it the illuminated Full Moon at 22° Gemini. If it is a clear night go out and stand under that bright light, absorb its full light. Consider the seed that you planted at the Sagittarius New Moon on Tuesday, November 29th. What has grown from that beginning? The conversational Gemini Full Moon encourages us to take full responsibility for our thinking and our communications.

At 2:04 PM EST, when the Moon opposes authoritative Saturn we can look at any communication issues we are having from a perspective of rationality and realism. You are unlikely to get bogged down in restrictive or depressive thinking. The Sun is not only in higher-minded Sagittarius, but also forms a flowing trine aspect to expansive Jupiter, and a sextile aspect (representing opportunities) to eccentric Uranus at 4:18 PM EST.  Expect surprises that will open your mind and thinking in unusual, expansive ways.

The Full Moon is exact at 7:06 PM EST at 22° Gemini. This is another evening to spend with gatherings of friends sharing ideas and open curious communications.

RADIATE LOVE

Wednesday, December 14, 2016:

Unless you begin your day very early, by the time you get going the Moon will be in Cancer (entering at 7:09 AM EST). Your need for comfort, healing, and nurturing may be more pronounced then usual. You will also be more inclined to offer these warm gifts of kindness to your loved ones.

This is a day when most of us would prefer to stay home with our families and those we love most dearly. Remember this as you go about your day. Offer an extra dose of kindness to folks you meet in the course of your everyday activities. We all long to be seen and loved; practice moving love into your heart and out through your eyes to radiate that love and kindness to others.

At 10:17 PM EST, the Moon forms a lovely trine aspect to dreamy Neptune. Light the candles, open up the massage table, and bring yourself and others to a space of soft radiant dreams.

The Gemini Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 12:57 AM EST until she enters Cancer at 7:09 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

A HUMAN REACTION

Thursday, December 15, 2016:

Thursday’s sensitive Cancer Moon encounters anxiety and power dynamics early in the day as the Mood opposes Pluto at 9:38 AM EST. Do you feel “under the thumb” of someone else’s agenda? Are you holding someone else under your thumb?  Pay attention to where unequal power dynamics exist between yourself and others. These issues will most likely show up in family or domestic relationships.

Consider where clear personal boundaries could support your health and the ultimate health of your relationships.

The anxiety from the morning extends into the afternoon as the Moon forms a square aspect to wild Uranus at 4:36 PM EST. Keep yourself on the move. Give anxiety and overwhelm a physical outlet. Go for a walk, go for a run, allow energy to move through you. These are simple Moon transits that will pass quickly as long as you don’t get caught up in unnecessary, dramatic reactions. Allow aggravations and difficulties to roll on by; do not engage with them by fanning the flames.

It is so easy to tell ourselves not to engage with things that trigger us; it is not easy to do. It is so easy to fly off the handle and wonder later how it happened. In these instances, show yourself the deepest level of compassion. What a human reaction! Forgive yourself and others with love and kindness.

When the Moon becomes a VOC* at 4:36 PM EST allow yourself to rest. Keep your evening calm and quiet.

The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:36 PM EST until she enters Leo on Friday at 8:14 AM PST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

REGAL STRENGTH

Friday, December 16, 2016:

The Moon enters playful Leo at 8:14 AM EST. Following Thursday’s emotional roller coaster you may feel a bit tentative about reaching out for the pleasure of Leo energy. There is no need to hurry.

As long as you did not get pulled too strongly into the turmoil of Thursday, Friday should unfold with simple pleasures. Connect with your most loyal companions; express an open generosity of the heart. There are no major aspects on Friday. This allows us time to cultivate and relax into the warmth of Leo.

Consider the big cats (lions, leopards, tigers, cheetahs) laying in the sun, regal and content in their strength and inner confidence. Seek out your own creativity, generosity, loyalty, warmth, and vital self-expression.

PROJECTS & PARTIES

Saturday, December 17, 2016:

The Moon is in dramatic, creative Leo all day on Saturday. You will feel strongly supported by her positive connections to expansive Jupiter, stabilizing Saturn, and unpredictable Uranus.

This is the perfect day for a creative holiday project and the perfect evening for a holiday gathering or party.  Express your full, unabashed creativity. Dress up and show off. J

At 7:57 PM EST, the Moon trine Uranus suggests fun, excitement, along with unusual surprises and opportunities. If you’re invited to a party, say yes. Allow vitality, generosity, and openhearted self-expression to rule the day.

You may notice the beginnings of that familiar feeling that comes with Mercury retrograde. Perhaps, you’ve been aware of it for several days. Something seems to be slightly ‘off’ regarding scheduling and communications.

Mercury turns retrograde on Monday December 19th. Think about how you are going to utilize that three-week period of time. Begin to make a list of all the things left undone that you will now be able to catch up on.

PREPARATIONS

Sunday, December 18, 2016:

Sunday begins with a lovely, flowing conversation between the expressive Leo Moon and the optimistic Sagittarius Sun. You will awaken with the memory of Saturday night’s events still holding you in their warm glow.

At 11:56 AM EST, with the Leo Moon opposing aggressive Mars some agitation is likely to make itself known. Perhaps, you realize the mess you have to clean up from last night’s party, literally or figuratively. Perhaps, you are reminded that you got a little carried away with the fun. The aggravation will pass quickly and at 12:52 PM EST when the Moon enters Virgo you will settle down to the work, effort and efficiency that is required as you prepare for the week ahead.

Sunday afternoon is best spent in service to the smooth functioning of the coming days. If you are celebrating, you probably have a long list of things that must be accomplished. Sunday afternoon offers a wonderful opportunity to actually enjoy crossing many tasks off your to do list.

Enjoy a quiet evening. Monday morning Mercury turns retrograde.

The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 11:56 AM EST until she entered her go at 12:52 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.
