Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: April 21, 2014 through April 27, 2014

Perhaps you thought that after all the intensity of last week we would get a break this week!

Don’t hold your breath. The story is not over.

We still have this week and much of next week to get through before we can substantially take a break.

The Cardinal Grand Cross, consisting of Uranus (Aries), Pluto (Capricorn), Jupiter (Cancer), and Mars (Libra) is still very much in high focus throughout the week!

Last week Mercury traveled through this land of intensity and unimaginable change! We have been brought into deep shifts and unsettling changes within our minds, we are learning how to think in a new way.

As our thought processes change so do our circumstances.

This week begins with the fifth of seven exact ‘hits’ of the Square between Uranus and Pluto. Two more to go! The first was in the Summer of 2012, and the final exact ‘hit’ will in March 2015. Only a year to go and we can get on with rebuilding the New World we find ourselves in!

With the Moon at Her Third-Quarter Phase in Aquarius, Mars gets into the full action of the Grand Cross as he first Squares Jupiter on Tuesday, then Opposes Uranus and Squares Pluto on Wednesday!

Another week of surprises, innovations, and unusual depth of intensification in our world, both internally and externally!

The key priorities for the week, once again:

  1. Awareness
  2. Self care
  3. Kindness

The week starts with the Moon in Capricorn; she passes through Aquarius and Pisces, and ends the week in Aries. This begins the week with an emotional focus outside of our selves. Saturday morning as the Moon enters Aries our emotional focus turns inward and becomes more centered on the self.

Monday, April 21, 2014:

Monday begins the week with incredible intensity. Energy has been building strongly!  With the Moon in Capricorn there is a serious edge to all that we encounter.

At 3:20 PM EDT Uranus and Pluto make their fifth of seven exact ‘hits’ of the First-Quarter Square between them. There has been so much talk about this configuration over the past few years. Because of how slowly these planets move and how long the cycle lasts, this is a very deep and long-lasting influence. The first exact ‘hit’ came in June 2012 and the final ‘hit’ comes in March of 2015. The intensity of the current impact (April 21) is due in large part to the fact that Mars and Jupiter are standing at 13degrees of Libra and Cancer forming a Full Cardinal Grand Cross with Uranus and Pluto.

Consider the Square Aspect itself as energies pulling at cross-purposes to each other. Think of Uranus as the planet of revolution, unexpected change, innovation, and intensification. Uranus opens our eyes to a future we had not previously considered! Pluto, on the other hand, is the planet of transformation, destruction, and empowerment. Pluto destroys what is in its path in order to make the space for new and powerful change. Consider this. Make no mistake the power of this day, this week, these times we are living in.

Capricorn moon is VOC* following a Square to Mercury at 7:21 PM. If you are emotionally involved in attempting to bring someone to your way of thinking on a particular matter; just let it go!

Tuesday, April 22, 2014:

Shortly after midnight on Monday night the Moon will enter Aquarius and before we awaken we will have reached the Third Quarter phase of the Moon. The Third Quarter Moon brings us to a moment where we are able to look at what has happened in the past week and choose to step aside and take a different path than the one we thought we would be on last week at this time.

Mars is now actively engaged in the Grand Cross making his first Aspect (a Square to Jupiter) at 3:27 PM EDT. Aggravation, anger or a powerful need to take action may feel overwhelming at this point in time. Pay attention to any planets or sensitive points you have at approximately 13° of Cardinal Signs (Aries, cancer, Libra, and Capricorn). Keep breathing. Be patient with yourself and others. Remember that we are in this together and we can come out the other side with a new vision and way of experiencing and viewing the world!

Wednesday, April 23, 2014:

On Wednesday Mars Opposes Uranus and Squares Pluto, be aware of this time. You may experience intense aggravation, fear, excitement, or perhaps an electrifying and overwhelming need to take action. Keep an eye on your own anxiety, levels of frustration, assertiveness, and anger. Do not get behind the wheel of a car, use power tools, or sharp utensils without checking your emotional state. Pay attention.

Early this morning Mercury leaves Aries behind and enters Taurus; that is the gift of this day.

With Mars so worked up around the Cardinal Grand Cross the last thing in the world we need is Mars ruling Mercury (Mercury in Aries)! Mercury entering Taurus will settle our minds a bit and for now every little bit is tremendously helpful.

I look forward to future days when there’s very little to write about! Remember those days of sitting in the garden and reading a book without concern? Those days are not today.

The Aquarius Moon makes her final aspect, a Square to Saturn at 2:11 PM EDT. The Moon is VOC for the rest of the day.

Thursday, April 24, 2014:

Moon enters Pisces while we sleep on Thursday morning and makes lovely aspects throughout the day. If you can find a moment in the middle of this wild week to rest, dream, and contemplate the softer side of life; this is the day. From here on out the Cardinal Grand Cross will begin to lighten as Mars and Jupiter move along their way! That does not mean an end to the intensification. Uranus and Pluto will continue to work away at each other!

But it does mean we have reached the peak and now we can begin to make sense out of where we find ourselves. And where do you find yourself? Are you clear on where these weeks have brought you? What has changed internally and externally in your life? We are on a different path. Do not try to go back; the old way of life is no longer viable.

Friday, April 25, 2014:

The Moon is in Pisces all day on Friday bringing us a softly gentle emotional day. We begin with a Trine between Venus and Saturn helping us to stabilize the intensification of what has been swirling around through our lives over these past weeks. Venus Trine Saturn offers a stable quiet beauty. Focus on stabilizing your relationships, consider, strengthen, and clarify your internal values, your finances, and your love relationships. By the end of the day the Sun and Mercury conjunct a 5° Taurus; we seek stability as we ache for peace, graciousness, and solid ground. The Moon’s last Aspect while in Pisces is a Conjunction to Venus at 4:03 PM EDT. Following this the Moon is happily VOC until she enters Aries early tomorrow morning. We are offered the potential of a soft evening of harmony and pleasure. Rest with music, poetry, a glass of wine; the ocean or another body of water may call. Allow love to soften the edges of your heart.

Saturday, April 26, 2014:

The Moon enters Aries early Saturday morning, making no major aspects throughout the day. Ah. What can we expect from such a day? Mercury Sextiles  Neptune early this afternoon. This is a day made for declarations of love and beauty; writing poetry or making music. Our conversations or our thinking are filled with idealism, hope for the future, possibly delusion or soft imagination. Get out of town. Go on an adventure. Let go.

Sunday, April 27, 2014:

Sunday the Aries Moon taps all the planets in the Cardinal Grand Cross! On an emotional level we may feel edgy, irritable, and we very likely feel a powerful need to take strong action on some situation. Observe carefully what you are creating for your future. Take note of what we talked about at the beginning of this week. Remember: the three most important things at this time are: be aware of your surroundings (outside yourself and within yourself), work on increasing your level of self-care/ self-friendliness, and offer deep heartfelt kindness to others. Keep working with this. We will be ready to accept where we find ourselves before we know it!

* In these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

Astrolore’s weekly weather: March 17, 2014 through March 23, 2014

Prepare for a week of more activity than last week! We have several planets changing sign and are coming ever closer to The Grand Cross*, just around the corner in April!

This week begins with The Moon in Libra; she moves through Scorpio, Sagittarius, and into Capricorn before the week is through; ending on the note of the Third Quarter Moon on Sunday. Our emotional awareness expands further onto the larger world stage and our attention turns toward the needs of others and our ability to teach.

Early in the week Mercury exits Aquarius where our thoughts have escaped tradition; and now brings our thinking mind into softer spaces of imagination and fantasy in Pisces. We have less involvement in the revolutionary ideas of imagination and more involvement in the feelings of the collective, the softer imagination that we see in poetry or music.

On Thursday we reach the huge shift of Sun leaving Pisces behind and moving into Aries! This is the Spring Equinox here in the Northern Hemisphere!

Now we come to Spring (here in New England we hope the weather will follow)!

The word equinox is derived from the Latin words meaning “equal night.” Days and nights are approximately equal everywhere and the Sun rises and sets due east and west. At the equinoxes, the tilt of Earth relative to the Sun is zero, which means that Earth’s axis neither points toward nor away from the Sun.

We start this week in one season and end it in the next! 🙂

Monday, March 17, 2014:

On Sunday evening the Moon moved into Libra; Monday is a quiet day. Look for ways to please others and to keep the peace in situations with others. Allow yourself to play the role of the Peace-maker at work or in your family.
As evening approaches we take on a very different concern. At 6:23 PM EDT Mercury leaves behind the innovative thinking of Aquarius to flow into the deeply sensitive spaces of Pisces. Our thoughts go to very intuitive places where we are able to connect very deeply with others.
The evening also brings that Libra Moon into harsh connection with both Uranus and Pluto (as they are reaching for their next upcoming Square Aspect (4/21/2014). Don’t allow yourself to be thrown off kilter should you encounter tension, stress, or lack of clarity. This is not unfamiliar at this point in time as these Aspects have been playing havoc with us since June 2012! The question continues to be asked: where are you being asked to change something significant in your life?

Tuesday, March 18, 2014:

Tuesday will begin with the pressure and stress from yesterday still holding sway. Pay attention to what it is asking of you!
As you move into the day, allow that issue to release as there is excitement lurking that you will want to place your focus on! Venus Sextiles Uranus at 3PM EDT. Consider what began as a great inspiration in late March of 2013 that grew into full blown manifestation by late August 2013. Now you reach a moment of understanding that that Cycle is nearing its end and there is something equally exciting and innovative which will grow out of that situation and will begin in mid-May 2014! What can you do today to seek out this new beginning, this new direction? Anticipate flashes of insight, sudden inspirations, and exciting turns of event! Keep in mind, however, that these exciting shifts will not seek you out. It is important that you seek them out! This is an opportunity not a gift.
The Moon makes its final aspect while in Libra, a Conjunction to Mars at 9:07 PM EDT. It is best to head to bed early; avoiding any potential frustrations.

Wednesday, March 19, 2014:

Very early Wednesday morning the Moon leaves the peaceful realm of Libra for the intensity of Scorpio. Be prepared to go a little deeper than you thought you would need to. Throughout the day the sensitive intensification of the Scorpio Moon has easy access to your ability to communicate and the deepest level of your imagination.

Wednesday is likely to be the most intuitive, sensitive, and emotional day of the week. Writing music or poetry would be highly satisfying to your spirit. It may go without saying but please stay away from the drugs, alcohol, and any emotionally unhealthy people you may encounter! The Scorpio Moon forms a Trine to both Mercury and Neptune in Pisces, allowing a free flow of energy between emotions, thinking and creative imagination. Lovely.

Thursday, March 20, 2014:

Thursday is an important day! The March equinox (or Northward equinox) is the equinox on the earth when the Sun appears to cross the celestial equator, heading northward. The March equinox is the vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the autumnal equinox in the Southern Hemisphere.
At this time we are at the point where day and night are equal in time. This is officially the beginning of Spring in the Northern Hemisphere; the beginning of Autumn in the Southern Hemisphere. Those of us here in New England are certainly ready to get a glimpse of Spring after the incredible snowstorm we had just last week. The Sun enters Aries at 12:56 PM EDT; the moment of the Equinox.

The Moon remains in Scorpio all day extending the intensification and sensitivity from yesterday; however as the sun enters Aries the energy shifts dramatically in a more assertive direction .

Let’s talk a little bit about Aries! I think of Aries as the energy of determination; the ability to face fear in order to develop courage. I think of Aries as the energy of the screaming infant; who demands that his/her needs be met, who understands that they are on their own and faces the fear of that situation with anger, determination, and assertiveness! We push forward!

Friday, March 21, 2014:

Friday begins with the Moon VOC* still in Scorpio. You may not want to begin the day; preferring to stay in bed but once you get going the day gets far easier! At 11:39 AM EDT the Moon enters Sagittarius. This should usher you into a very pleasant afternoon!
With the Sun now in Aries and The Moon in Sagittarius this is a day for fiery, independent exploration of your emotions and the newness of your situation as the Seasons change!

You may anticipate people being a bit impatient and highly opinionated (yourself included) this afternoon. Watch how you deliver you opinions, subtlety may be lacking!

Enjoy your imagination, don’t get wrapped up in trying to make sense of things (with tomorrow’s connection of Mercury and Neptune), enjoy the excitement and enthusiasm of Aries and Sagittarius.

Saturday, March 22, 2014:

An exciting Saturday will be on tap with the Moon in Sagittarius and the new Season (Aries Sun) upon us! This evening as Mercury Conjuncts Neptune (4:15PM EST) communications and your thinking may feel a bit confused. Something may be other than it seems; there is a lack of clarity.
Your thinking is unclear, a bit foggy. There is an up side to it! Take advantage of the lack of clarity by utilizing your imagination, tap into a space of spirituality, enjoy music and poetry! Anything that brings your mind to a soft space of escaping the mundane is a worthy pursuit for Saturday! Stay away from the easy path of drugs, alcohol, or other substances. Any stories you hear may be taken with a grain of salt; no one is really clear in their thinking at this point in time. If you have planets at or around 6° of Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, or Pisces) be aware that this is impacting you very strongly. Pray, meditate, dance, make (or watch) a film, make (or listen to) music, go in the direction of what is intangible!

Sunday, March 23, 2014:

The Sagittarius Moon Sextiles Mars on Sunday at 6:40 AM EDT followed by the Moon being VOC* until she enters Capricorn at 4:03PM EDT. This will be a great day to get a lot of menial tasks completed as we come to the end of another week! Cooking, cleaning, sorting through old boxes. Prepare for Spring or Autumn (depending on which hemisphere you are in). The Capricorn Moon encourages us to give serious consideration to the week ahead.
Sunday evening also brings us to the Third Quarter phase of the Moon. This Lunar Cycle began on March 1, with the New Moon, culminated at the Virgo Full Moon on Saturday the 15th. At this Third Quarter Phase it is time to look at how the original plan needs to be adjusted; to begin releasing it as we approach the Next Cycle, which will begin at the Aries New Moon on March 30th. Consider the serious planning there is to do for the week ahead. Get a jump on it today, particularly after 4PM EDT. Focus on getting things set up and in order; It will make the whole week much easier to manage!

*The Grand Cross; 13degrees Cardinal Signs. April 2014.
Uranus, Pluto, Mars, Jupiter. Intense Pressure.

* In my weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.

Astrolore’s Astrology Weather: Week of March 10, 2014 through March 16, 2014:

You can see by the pictures on this weeks post that Spring is on my mind. It still feels like Winter here in Vermont but hope for Spring is growing and the Seed Catalogs are the most popular reading material in many homes!

On the surface this appears to be a simple week. However, as we move ever closer to the Grand Cross in  April we feel the intensity beneath the surface growing. We will talk more of this in the coming weeks.

As we move into this week, follow your routines and those things that bring stability to your life. The Moon travels through the Signs of Cancer, Leo, and Virgo this week; entering Libra on Sunday evening.

Last week with the Moon moving through the most personal signs of Aries, Taurus, and Gemini we were very concerned with our own process, how we approach our lives, and the impact that others have on us.

This week the Moon’s travels bring us more into contact with how we impact others. We are more interested in nurturing and caring for others, allowing others to see who we are beneath the surface, and finding ways that we can be of service to others. This week we engage with our impact on others on a very personal level.

In the past few weeks we have encountered so many planets reversing direction, we are still adjusting to the new manner of motion!  Mercury went direct on February 28th, Mars turned retrograde on March 1st, Saturn also reversed on March 2nd, and Jupiter turned direct on March 6th! A bit of stability of direction will feel good!

Monday, March 10, 2014:

The week starts on an emotional note! Anticipate waking up on Monday morning feeling highly in-tune with your needs for nurturing, loving, and being loved.  We may be a bit off kilter, cranky, nostalgic, and discontented this morning as that Cancer Moon makes stressful contact with both Uranus and Pluto.

This connection serves to activate the close, building Square between these two; Uranus and Pluto. Keep in mind that the energy of Pluto is the energy of transformation, destruction, and empowerment; the energy of Uranus is the energy of revolution and sudden irreversible changes that blast us into the future. As these two very powerful energies come together there is a great deal of stress and pressure that demands change. Whatever area of you life you feel this tension in, contemplate what changes you know must be embraced. Resistance to change is not recommended!
In relating with your loved ones, give them more slack than usual. Trust that each of us are doing the very best we can in terms of loving and caring for each other.
These are stressful times; kindness is the gift that will serve all of us. Offer it to everyone you encounter.

Tuesday, March 11, 2014:

Tuesday begins with Mercury Squaring Saturn, bringing a serious edge to your thoughts and ideas. Is there something that you need to say that you are uncomfortable about? Have you taken on an important responsibility or project that you know you need to face head-on? This is probably related to something that became very difficult in your life, most likely in October or November, 2013. Perhaps it relates to something you agreed to or made a commitment to at that time. What needs to be spoken of regarding that commitment now?
If you take a step forward on this issue it will take much stress off your mind. Move forward to fulfill your responsibility. It likely will require an effort of mature communication on Tuesday.
At 3:51 PM EDT the Cancer Moon  Squares Mars, this is her final aspect while in Cancer and is followed by a VOC Moon until 10:09 PM EDT when the Moon enters Leo! Before you fall asleep Tuesday night honor the Leo Moon with one truly generous act!

Wednesday, March 12, 2014:

On Wednesday you will want to get out and allow the world to see who you really are! Show your generosity, seek appreciation and love!
The Moon is in Leo all day!  The two main connections the Leo Moon makes on Wednesday are to Venus early in the morning and to Uranus later in the evening. Both Aspect are of a positive nature. We can anticipate the focus of the day to be on love, beauty and unusual connections with others! We may connect in unusual ways or with unusual people!

Generosity is abundant; generosity of love, money, friendship, and/or beauty. Be available to except what is so freely offered.

Thursday, March 13, 2014:

On Tuesday we talked about looking back to the Fall-time regarding some seriousness of thought or responsibility. Today, we once again look back at that time. On Thursday we, once again, come to the same process but with a lighter touch and without the struggle! We sense the ability to intuitively push this issue forward in a very productive manner. Do you know what the issue is in your life? The moon continues through Leo and I’m hoping there’s some generosity that is involved in pushing forward what began as a very serious issue or commitment in the Fall-time.
The Moon continues through Leo all day. Shine the light of generosity on any person, animal, or situation that you encounter. Be the Light, the Generosity, the Warmth! In this way you can make a huge impact on everyone in your world!

Friday, March 14, 2014:

Friday begins with the Moon VOC in the generous, playful sign of Leo but doesn’t linger there long. At 10:18 AM EDT the Moon enters more stable terrain as she moves into Virgo. This should be a highly productive day, we all know that Virgo likes to work, and enjoys the satisfaction of a job well done. Mercury (which rules Virgo) forms a Trine to Mars on Saturday as well, bringing a good deal of energy to our thoughts. This is a day to act on our thoughts and think about our actions!

Yes, Mars is retrograde; indeed, keep this in mind! Contemplate how you have worked with the energy and the issues of Mars in the past. Determine how best to work with these issues as you move forward. Consider issues of aggression, assertiveness, sexuality, anger, and violence. How can you see your relationship to these issues in a new light? Do you need to make peace with something from your past that is reflected here? Hold no ill will toward yourself or others; seek friendliness and compassion to self and others for misuse of energy.

Saturday, March 15, 2014:

What a lovely Saturday as we reach for Sunday’s Full Moon! This looks like a day with plenty of room for expansion and empowerment and without complications! The Moon is in Virgo all day pushing us forward to accomplish whatever we put our focus on! This will be a powerful weekend. Don’t waste it. Set a plan and get something significant accomplished. A major home or building project could be accomplished more easily than you may expect. Better yet, help someone else with a project they are unable to complete on their own. You will shine if you put yourself in service to others! Think ahead and make a significant plan for this weekend!

Sunday, March 16, 2014:

This entire week has been building to the point of this VIRGO FULL MOON at 1:09 PM EDT on Sunday. On March 1st at the New Moon in Pisces we began the current Lunar Cycle. How have things progressed since that time? A Full Moon suggests a release of creative energy, and a full illumination, of what began at the New Moon.

This Full Moon falls at 26° Virgo, the energy expressed or released is one of discrimination and humility. What ever it is you are creating in this Cycle involves service and kindness to others. Contemplate what part of yourself is being perfected in order to have an offering to serve the higher good of humankind.  The moon is VOC following the Full Moon at 1:09 PM EDT until she enters Libra at 8:46 PM EDT. Next week we will begin on a note of diplomacy and seeking out beauty in our relationship and our surroundings.

* In my weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.

Astrolore’s Astrology Weather: Week of March 3, 2014 through March 9, 2014:

This is a week of beginnings; The Moon comes back to the beginning of the zodiac after going through the Pisces Full Moon over the weekend. Throughout the course of the week the Moon passes through the first Signs of the Zodiac; Aries, Taurus, Gemini, and begins to push her way into Cancer.

These are the ‘Personal Signs’.  Having just ended a week with the Moon going through the ‘Transpersonal Signs’ this brings to our attention our more personal issues. We are more concerned with ourselves than we have been for several weeks.

We may begin the week feeling a pull to embrace the core of our mystical natures. We may encounter a sense of empowerment and ambition, seeking  to bringing our dreams to reality. This is a reflection of the Pisces Sun Sextile Pluto in Capricorn. We feel the energy of the upcoming Grand Cross in April intensify.

The week begins with the Moon in the Sign of the Warrior, the Pioneer, the Survivor. We think we are ready to move into action, but Mars’ retrograde motion stops us in our tracks. There is something from our past actions that needs to be handled, healed, or released before moving forward.

Wednesday afternoon Venus leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius. This signifies a significant shift in our our values and where we place our attention. What area of our lives are we ready to bring more focused intense attention to? Is there something unusual calling us forward, something that will make an impact on our communities or humanity as a whole?

On Saturday the First Quarter Moon is in Gemini The Pisces Sun reflects friction and discomfort in it’s connection with the Gemini Moon. It may prove to be a difficult weekend to determine the best course of action; our needs and our desires may be pulling us in very different directions.

On Thursday Jupiter moves direct, following a retrograde period that began on November 7, 2013.  Prepare yourself to embrace more expansion and more auspiciousness in the area of your chart that holds 10° Cancer.

As we move through the week we are adjusting to the many shifts of direction with so many planets changing between direct and retrograde motion!

There is relief with Mercury’s forward motion as our projects and communications move more easily forward.  Mars retrograde asks us to look at intense issues from the past regarding anger or how we have engaged with our sexuality.  Saturn’s Retrograde gives us time to stabilize where our most ambitious growth has been since last July. Slow down a bit, hold steady, and work with where you are.

A great deal of our energy this week is utilized in adjusting to, and seeking balance with all of this forward and backward motion!

Monday, March 3, 2014:

Starting the week with the Moon in Aries always feels quite appropriate. It is time to get up, dust ourselves off, and plow forward into the routines that make our lives work! There is apt to be some edginess in the morning as the Aries Moon, once again, confronts both Uranus and Pluto. On an emotional level this may feel rough and not easily unworkable. Allow yourself to relax into that emotional state with the awareness that ‘this too shall pass’. Tap into the power of your deepest intuition, your silent inner connection, to ambition and forward growth. As you push ahead there are deep pockets of empowerment, inner strength, and growth available.

Tuesday, March 4, 2014:

Tuesday gets underway with the Moon still in Aries, forming stressful contacts with Mars and Venus early in the day. We may encounter a certain amount of aggravation and frustration regarding relationships during the early afternoon.  Ride the wave with focus and allow that energy to pass.
The Moon will be VOC between 12:41PM EST and  2:12 PM EST when the Moon enters Taurus. With so many planet shifting direction this week, the Taurus Moon will feel very calm and stabilizing. A nice evening to have an early supper, get into your PJs and relax with a good book, a loving partner, or a good movie.

Wednesday, March 5, 2014:

The Moon remains in Taurus throughout Wednesday. We are still in the early stages of the current Moon Cycle. It is beneficial not to rush things, to allow our path to follow its natural course. This is a time to research and explore what our upcoming movement will be.
Venus enters Aquarius at 4:03 PM EST bringing a dramatic shift in the expression of our values. We may notice ourselves feeling more available to make less conservative or restrictive decisions regarding the management of our money or our relationships. We are willing to take risks, in the anticipation of bringing ourselves more fully into the image of our future. Venus has been in Capricorn since early November 2013, spending longer in that sign than usual due to the retrograde. Venus will remain in Aquarius until early April; enjoy this time of intensifying and bringing more unusual elements to your personal values and deepest beliefs.

Thursday, March 6, 2014:

At 8:55AM EST the Moon forms her final aspect, (an opposition to Saturn 8:55 AM EST).  Is there a responsibility or restriction standing in the way of where you want to go? Following this aspect the Moon is VOC until 9:37AM EST. Our responsibilities or restrictions may weigh heavily on us today. This is a long VOC period with the Moon entering Gemini at 9:37 PM EST. Keep in mind the importance of allowing this day to take its own course without pushing for accomplishment. At 9:37 PM EST, when the Moon enters Gemini our minds awaken and we are able to bring more energy and curiosity to the issues at hand. Because the Moon enters the ‘busy mind’ Sign of Gemini so close to bedtime, you may want to take special precautions to calm your mind down before heading to bed. The activity of your mind could get quite rambunctious, making it difficult to get the sleep you need!

Friday, March 7, 2014:

Friday brings us to an active day of communication, curiosity, and mental exploration. Exploring different ideas and engaging the mind actively will bring you the most satisfactory day. The Moon is in Gemini throughout the day, making contact with Neptune in the morning. Our active exploration of mind may want to engage in softer areas. Explore music, poetry, and other intangible issues that call to you.
This evening the mind sharpens focus considerably as the Moon Sextiles Uranus. Find the more unconventional directions of mind. Meet with folks who have a very different view of the world. Get new perspectives; allow inspiration. Consider ways that individuals and groups of people are bringing exciting innovations to humanity. The world is changing. Seek out what is new, exciting, and unusual. This could be a fun engaging Friday evening! Go out with friends, meet new exciting people; talk, engage, explore ideas, and grow.

Saturday, March 8, 2014:

Saturday is another full day with the Moon in Gemini. At 8:27 AM we reach the First Quarter Phase of the Moon at 17° Gemini. Consider what began on Saturday, March 1st at the New Moon. What new began in your life, your spirituality, your way of being in the world? It will be important for you to take a specific action on what began on March 1st. If you know where 17° Gemini falls in your chart you could get some clues as to what action is now necessary.
At the First Quarter Moon (this is true also for the Third Quarter Moon) the Sun and the Moon are forming a stressful Square between them.
It is likely that your desires and your responsibilities are pulling you in very different directions. Think back to last week at the New Moon. Whatever your aspiration was for this Moon Cycle will direct you to the appropriate action for today. Understanding this should quiet down today’s struggle between the Gemini Moon and the Pisces Moon.

Sunday, March 9, 2014:

At 8:33 AM EST a brief VOC* Moon is complete and the Moon enters Cancer. This is an ideal day to spend with loved ones. If you have none close by, spend the day cooking in order to nurture yourself, or write a letter (a real one with paper and pen) to an elderly relative. This will warm their heart in a manner that no email ever could. A great day to cook with others as well, go out to dinner; sharing love, food and our family histories with those we love will generate a powerful depth of love.
The week ends on a soft note with the loving Cancer Moon making a free-flowing Trine to Neptune.  Our imaginations are alive, we feel open and connected to humanity and all sentient beings.

* In my weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.

Astrology Weather Report – Mercury turns Direct, Pisces New Moon; February 24, 2014 – March 2, 2014

This week as the Moon moves through Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces your outlook is apt to be less about those in your immediate surroundings and more about humanity in general. You may seek to become more engaged with humanitarian issues rather than personal issues.

This is an active week! You will feel relief when Mercury turns direct on Friday. Yay! You’ve traveled this far, only a few days to go! I hope you have used the Mercury Retrograde well and gotten a great deal of old projects crossed off your lists!

On Saturday the New Moon occurs at 10degrees Pisces, and Mars turns Retrograde!

I will talk more about Mars Retrograde over the coming days and weeks. As we move from one Retrograde to another (first Venus was retrograde, then Mercury, and now Mars and Saturn) we must continue to clean up issues from our past. During Mars Retrograde it is important to reevaluate our sexuality, our intimate relationships and any relationships that have held a core of anger since April 2012. You may be asked to look deeply into the ways that you manage anger and aggression. Mars will remain Retrograde until May 19, 2014

This week the Sun pulls ahead of Neptune and the fog of the previous week will lift. You may see reality more clearly, although there will be a bit of a trade-off. As you gain clarity you lose some inspiration and creativity.

Monday, February 24, 2014:

When you wake on Monday morning the Moon will be VOC in Sagittarius. You may not want to get moving but you probably feel relatively light-hearted. A shift happens almost immediately, taking on a heavier tone as the Moon enters Capricorn at 8:51 AM EST. The Moon in Capricorn brings an ambitious start to the week as we head into work with a serious attitude and a high level of work ethic.

At the end of the day Venus will Sextile Saturn. This will continue its affect into Tuesday. Think back to mid September 2013. This was the beginning of the current Cycle between Venus and Saturn. What issues regarding your creativity or personal relationships were asking for seriousness, structure, or commitment at that time?

On Monday or Tuesday you will be well advised to revisit that issue; look how far you have come in its development. This will be a good time to reassess the direction you are going in this regard. This is not a time to act on the situation, but a time to research and explore the current direction and alternative directions forward.

Tuesday, February 25, 2014:

Tuesday is most likely to be a serious day with the very little space for humor or pleasure. Luckily we still have Venus Sextile Saturn in effect. This reflects an open opportunity to stabilize and structure your love relationships or your creativity. This is a good time to reassess the depth of your commitments in relationships and in your process of creativity.

However the Capricorn Moon makes harsh aspects to both Uranus, Pluto, and Jupiter. Your emotional nature may feel closed down; consider that behind the harsh wall there is a rawness and the need to make a powerful and possibly difficult shift in your life. There is little humor here.

Please remember this and take the opportunity to offer kindness to others. Go out in search of someone who needs a kind word. Don’t allow yourself to get wrapped too tightly in your own issues. Life is not easy and kindness is much needed by everyone you meet. If you give what you need you will be enriched more than you can imagine.

Wednesday, February 26, 2014:

Wednesday may begin with that same heavy energy of yesterday but will shift early!

The Moon enters Aquarius at 9:56 AM EST; this will lighten things up considerably! Our attention reaches out to a crisply sharp exploration of ideas and intellectual pursuits. We may feel excitement as we are pulled to the future leaving behind the heaviness of the past few days.

Take a moment to consider the latter half of 2010; consider your state of intellectual or spiritual expansion. Where in your life was there something unusual blossoming in your life? Did it have something to do with travel, spirituality, education, publishing, mind expansion?

Jupiter Squares Uranus today. Whatever began in 2010 is demanding attention now. You were very likely asked to take action, to push these desires forward last August, once again Now, and again in April 2014. If you know where in your chart 10° Aries and 10° Cancer fall, you will find clues to the situation and the actions necessary.

The full results of this project/new way of thinking (the one that began in 2010) will be fully illuminated and fully expressed in the Spring of 2017. As you take steps forward set your goals with that time in mind. It is only 3 years away!

Thursday, February 27, 2014:

You can anticipate a pleasant and possibly exciting day on Thursday! This is a day to seek freedom and expression, to allow your mind to explore and express innovation! Consider the movement forward you would like to see on the level of culture and your own community. Consider where you are being of help to the community and future generations; consider where you could offer more of yourself in this regard. The Moon is an Aquarius all day making pleasant aspects to Uranus and Mercury. Your mind is active with unusual and exciting ideas.

It may be of benefit to spend the later part of the evening alone, engaged in a more serious endeavor, or head to sleep early, as the Moon Squares Saturn Saturn at 11:12PM EST.

Friday, February 28, 2014:

Yay! On Friday you will be happy to know that Mercury (18° Aquarius) turns direct at 8:59AM EST. I hope that you watched my video and were able to utilize this Mercury retrograde well! I hope you accomplished as much as I did! Much has been removed from that old ‘to-do list’!

There will be a lightness in your step as you head to work this morning!

The Moon enters Pisces at 9:53AM EST and connects with Neptune at 6:16PM EST. You may feel dreamy, a bit disconnected, and sensitive throughout the day. The Sun Trines Jupiter at 11:05PM EST. This brings you into deep waters of emotion tonight; offering the opportunity for a delightfully romantic evening or substantial surreal dreams through the night.

Depending on your situation there will be love and romance, nostalgia and tears, or deep empathy and compassion. Consider which one of these scenarios will best serve your situation and open to that energy.

Saturday, March 1, 2014:

Saturday begins with the New Moon in Pisces! The New Moon is the end of one cycle and the start of a new monthly cycle.

Consider what you want to begin today; what you want to bring into fruition. This should somehow be related to your imagination, your intuition, or your offering of yourself in service to humanity. Take time to consider what it is you are creating, put it on paper, create a ceremony to make it real in your own heart and mind. Join with others to offer support as you each bring some reality to that which is intangible.

Mars turns Retrograde this morning at 27° Libra. Wherever that falls in your chart pay attention; look at where and how you are using your direct energy. Mars will remain retrograde until May 19, 2014. This will offer you the opportunity to reassess your sexuality and your aggressive nature. There may be issues from the past that need to be understood in a new way.

Sunday, March 2, 2014:

Sunday will be a lovely morning to wake slowly, have an early breakfast with friends or simply pamper yourself with pleasure if you are alone. The Pisces Moon is VOC* following a sweet Sextile to Venus.

At 10:39AM EST the Moon enters Aries. A trip to the ski slopes or a hike in the woods would be an ideal way to spend this Sunday afternoon. Your physical energy will be high and exercise will bring out the very best in you physically and emotionally.

At 11:18AM EST Saturn turns Retrograde at 23° Scorpio. You will be revisiting your ambitions, your ability and willingness to work hard, and your integrity over the coming months (Saturn will turn direct once again on July 20, 2014).
Sunday afternoon Venus Squares Mars. You may want to prepare, and consider the best ways to manage a certain amount of stress or challenges in your most intimate relationships. Do not try to avoid the stress, find ways to use it! Play tennis together, go on that hike. Use energy between you wisely. Sexual play can be the best use! Make a plan. How you use this energy can set the stage for the upcoming week!
