Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: July 23, 2018 through July 29, 2018

The upcoming six months may well pivot on the activities and occurrences of this week.

First, keep in mind that Mars is still retrograde until August 27th. Continue to explore and examine issues of aggression and anger. Understand where you have misused these energies and do what needs to be done to learn better, less hurtful ways of getting what you want.
Mercury turns retrograde on Thursday and will remain so until August 19th. Please remember that this not something to worry about once you know how to manage it. Take the opportunity to complete tasks and projects rather than moving forward to new ones. Resist beginning new projects, partnerships, or plans. If you have significant communications or purchases that need to be made, wait.
As we approach the Lunar Eclipse on Friday afternoon, you will want to pay special attention to your own life circumstances and the world around you. What makes this lunar eclipse particularly significant is the involvement of both Mars (aggression, anger, action) and Uranus (expect the unexpected).
An eclipse represents a point of high intensity, possible crisis, and change. What occurs at the eclipse will hold our attention over the coming months until the next lunar eclipse in January of 2019.
Look for the area (house) of your chart that holds 4° Aquarius. This indicates the area of life that requires a great deal of attention over the coming months. A new story or a change in the story of this life area will develop from what occurs now.

A NEW PERSPECTIVE
Monday, July 23, 2018:
There may be a sense of listlessness in the air when you awake this morning. You’d like to pull the covers over your head and resist facing the day at all.
The Moon is in Sagittarius which normally keeps us feeling open and ready to explore and experience new ideas and directions. However, as she forms a challenging aspect to both Venus and Neptune, she feels lazy and looks for an easy escape. Perhaps, your needs are pulling you in one direction and your desires are pulling you in another.
These are Moon aspects and will pass quickly. It’s possible all you really need is to engage in a conversation with someone who can show you a different perspective or an entirely new worldview. Push yourself a bit to see or experience something you have resisted in the past. You will be pleased you did and the world will never look quite the same.

DEVELOP MASTERY
Tuesday, July 24, 2018:
The emotional environment is calm and uneventful for most of Tuesday with the Moon VOC* in Sagittarius. This may leave you quite susceptible to unrealistic, overly romantic notions and ideas as Venus oppose Neptune at 3:22 PM EDT. Don’t jump to any conclusions or make any decisions as it is unlikely that you have all the information necessary to do so. Meditation or prayer (whatever that means to you) will be helpful to keep confusion at bay.
Reality and clear thinking don’t have a place at the table until the Moon enters Capricorn at 5:49 PM EDT. If you have been lost in whimsy or escapism, you may be distressed to have reality show itself so clearly at that time. It is important that you roll with the shift and allow yourself to re-dedicate yourself to your responsibilities. Keep in mind the necessity of reality and hard work in order to develop integrity and mastery in all parts of your life.
The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:22 AM EDT until she enters Capricorn at 5:49 PM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from what is begun. This is neutral, simply suggesting that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SETTING THE STAGE
Wednesday, July 25, 2018:
The dramatic Leo Sun squares Uranus on Wednesday morning setting the stage for the Lunar Eclipse on Friday. You may have a powerful urge to break free or rebel against someone or something that you feel is holding you back. Freedom beckons.

Mercury, however, is standing stock still, ready to turn retrograde in the early hours of Thursday morning. Regardless of how strong the urge is to make a sudden change, hold steady and watch what is unfolding in the outer world. There are steps to be taken and issues to revisit before the path will be truly clear. You can anticipate feeling off-kilter, possibly overly excited or plagued with anxiety. Understanding that this is impacting everyone, you can model calm kindness to others.
Watch for unanticipated news, inspirations, and epiphanies. Get out of any ruts you may be stuck in and allow your mind to absorb something you never expected.
The cycle between the Sun and Uranus is a cycle of independence and intensification. The cycle began in mid-April, can you see a connection now with something that began at that time?

MERCURY RETROGRADE
Thursday, July 26, 2018:
Along with Mars retrograde (since June 26) and anticipating Friday’s Lunar Eclipse, Mercury turns retrograde (at 23° Leo) at 1:02 AM EDT.  People worry so much about Mercury retrograde but it really is fairly easy to manage.
4 Simple Steps to Manage Mercury retrograde:
⦁ Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned and don’t listen to folks who spread anxiety.
⦁ Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed since April 15, 2018; dig deep, there are probably more things than you are aware of. There are probably appointments you have been meaning to make, projects left undone, communications fallen through the cracks, books unfinished, etc.
⦁ Accomplish what is on this list, and only what is on this list, nothing more, nothing less.
⦁ Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs.
If you follow these simple steps, you will be amazed at how much you can accomplish during this 3 week period!
Remember that these are guidelines; not rules. There are things that can not be put off. Be practical and do what must be done.
Also please remember: Mercury is retrograde, Mercury is NOT IN retrograde.
Thursday’s Capricorn Moon is VOC* all day. You may notice frustration as Capricorn wants to get stuff done but being VOC*, it is best to work on mundane projects only. Keep breathing, practice keeping your heart open and offer kindness to all whom you encounter.
The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:42 AM EDT until she enters Aquarius on Friday morning at 6:41 AM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from what is begun. This is neutral, simply suggesting that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

A BIG DEAL LUNAR ECLIPSE
Friday, July 27, 2018:
Friday brings us to the big deal Lunar Eclipse. A Lunar Eclipse always occurs on a Full Moon and is basically an amped-up Full Moon on steroids. This Lunar Eclipse is particularly significant due to its close contact with both defiant, unsettling Uranus and aggressive, sharp, cutting Mars. These are very volatile energies coming into play.
The Moon enters Aquarius at 6:41 AM EDT, easing the potential emotional distress as Aquarius offers perspective and even detachment if necessary.
The difficulties inherent in this eclipse may unfold in your personal circumstances or you may watch it unfold in the outer world. Pay attention to your life circumstances and the world around you. An eclipse represents a point of high intensity, possible crisis, and change. What occurs at the eclipse will hold our attention over the coming months until the next lunar eclipse in January 2019.
Look for the area (house) of your chart that holds 4° Aquarius. This indicates the area of life that requires a great deal of attention over the coming months. A new story or a change in the story of this life area will develop from what occurs now.
Keep your eyes open as you give of yourself to help others. There is much need in the world and in your community for kindness. Helping others is the best way to care for yourself. With Venus trine Pluto at the end of the day, there is great power in love. Express it freely.
The Capricorn Moon is VOC* Friday morning until she enters Aquarius at 6:41 AM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from what is begun. This is neutral, simply suggesting that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.”

LEARN TO LOVE
Saturday, July 28, 2018:
Saturday is a great day for self-reflection and to take a break from the direction you have been moving. Wait and watch. Take whatever time you need to consider your options for the day. Don’t just automatically do what is expected of you by yourself or others. Look for a different path.
The Moon is in innovative, unconventional Aquarius. Seek out people you don’t generally engage with. Listen and learn from folks who live a different reality. We all tend to spend time with people who look, behave, and live much as we do. Break out of that mold.
How can we possibly develop compassion and understanding for folks, the likes of which, we have never gotten to know? Seek out people of a different race, sexuality, gender identification, age group, nationality, political affiliation (yes, even that). Listen. Learn to love those who do not live like you. We are all human and we all have valid reasons for our proclivities.

BREAK FREE
Sunday, July 29, 2018:
Sunday is a quiet day astrologically. All the intensity earlier in the week is now being assimilated by each of us. With the Moon now in Aquarius, continue the theme of Saturday by reaching out to understand others. Aquarius suggests the need to march to the beat of a different drummer. Allow yourself to not only engage with others who are different from you but to express the parts of yourself that are most unique. Others will have more understanding of your quirks, and yet it will matter less to you if they do not.
Spend the day in social interactions, don’t let anyone influence your most unusual expressions. Allow the most rebellious and spontaneous parts of your personality to emerge. Break out of any routines or ruts that hold you back. You can break bad habits most easily under the influence of the objective Aquarius Moon. Break free.
The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:25 AM EDT until she enters Pisces at 7:28 PM EDT.
When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

“We use astrology most constructively and creatively when we gain from it a sense of what is possible for us at the highest levels of our potentialities. Seeing that, the challenges is then to keep our eyes open to life itself, to be able to respond appropriately when some event or change of circumstances…”

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

CHANGE YOUR REALITY – AQUARIUS LUNAR ECLIPSE
Monday, August 7, 2017:
Monday is one of the most powerful days of the incredibly transformative summer of 2017.
This morning brings an opposition from the Aquarius Moon to aggressive Mars and with it the possibility of being angered by someone’s attempt to curb the direction of your opinions and ideas. Let it slide. It is of little importance in the big picture.
At 2:11 PM EDT, we come to the Aquarius Lunar Eclipse. A Lunar Eclipse is a dynamically potent Full Moon. At this time, you are offered the space and opportunity in your life to deeply shift your awareness and change your reality.
Given that this eclipse is in intellectually sharp Aquarius, it offers you an understanding of the necessity to release and clear out thought patterns that no longer serve you. One of the great gifts of Aquarius is the ability to be fully objective and not get stuck trying to please others. You know what is right for you and are willing to stand in opposition to the opinions of others as you move in the direction that spirit presents.
At this Full Moon Eclipse, allow yourself to clearly see how your unique contribution moves all of humanity forward. Consider what you need to release to allow your inventive or revolutionary gifts to increase in effectiveness and impact.
A lovely trine aspect between the Moon and Jupiter at 7:06 PM EDT releases tension and opens a pathway to hope and optimism.

AN EVENING OF FLOW
Tuesday, August 8, 2017:
On Tuesday, the quirky Aquarius Moon forms lovely sextile aspects to both stabilizing Saturn and eccentric Uranus. Yes, these are quickly passing Moon transits but we are wise to engage with them. Consider ways to bring stabilization to the areas of your life that are (or seem to be) a bit unpredictable.
Your wild side may move your life forward in significant ways if you are able to define and structure it. The most restrained parts of your life will not be emboldened if you allow some inspiration and unconventional thought into the mix.
At 5:56 PM EDT, the Moon enters empathetic Pisces and you are able to let go of the powerful tension that has encased all of us. Allow yourself to move into an undefined state of sensitivity, dreaminess, and deep compassion. This is a great evening for meditation, music, and even an extra glass of wine.
The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:08 AM EDT until she enters Pisces at 5:56 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DREAMY SENSITIVITY
Wednesday, August 9, 2017:
Allow yourself to float unencumbered through Wednesday. The Moon continues on her journey through mystical, fanciful Pisces and asks that you listen to your intuition and allow space for dreamy sensitivity. You may notice your imagination is more active and the boundaries between yourself and others don’t hold up too well.
Pisces wants to merge, blend, and dissolve whatever separates you from others. This can translate to romantic connections as feelings that are deeply powerful, connecting, and soft.
Reality may simply be too harsh and, for the moment, you don’t have to look at it. Spending time in meditation, prayer, or on water is ideal; float, daydream and let the water wash away your concerns.

GROWTH OF LOVE
Thursday, August 10, 2017:
If you start the day early, you can take advantage of Mercury sextile Venus at (5:03 AM EDT) with sweet pillow talk and expressions of love and appreciation.
There may be a bit of a glitch when the Moon squares restrictive Saturn at 9:38 AM EDT and you must face reality and move into the workday.
However, that transit will pass quickly and the afternoon’s Sun sextile to expansive Jupiter at 5:24 PM EDT will imbue the evening with the possibility of fun, pleasure, love, and romance. These have not been easy days; it is important to enjoy this one!
With the Sun in generous, playful Leo and optimistic Jupiter in relationship-oriented Libra, you are supported in the growth of love within all types of partnerships.
The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:38 AM EDT until she enters Aries in the wee hours of Friday morning at 1:22 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

LEARNING COURAGE
Friday, August 11, 2017:
In the wee hours of Friday morning, the Moon enters impetuous, energetic Aries. Following this determined step forward, the Moon then makes no major aspects throughout the day. This is a day of high vitality where you may feel ardently compelled to act on your feelings. You have a strong desire to begin something new… on your own. This is a time for individual action rather than partnership or group action.
Keep in mind that each astrology sign has a particular lesson to teach. Aries teaches courage. No one learns courage by sitting languidly on the couch or taking a meditative walk in the forest. You learn courage by facing your deep fears and the most stressful issues of your life. What can you face with courage today?
Keep an eye on the possible tendency to take irrational, impulsive action that has not been thought out. Consider what you are learning and find a way to stay safe even as you learn determination and bravery. Do not start anything you cannot finish up over the next few days. Aries is impulsive but has little staying power.
This is a great evening for physical activity and biking, dancing, or making love will fill the bill. Enjoy the abundance of Fire.
Friday night will be colored by the trine between Venus and Neptune at 1:17 AM EDT on Saturday morning. This aspect adds sweetness and a little romance to begin the weekend.

WRAP UP LOOSE ENDS DURING MERCURY RETROGRADE
Saturday, August 12, 2017:
Saturday begins with the sweet, soft influence of sensual Venus trine dreamy Neptune. These two lovely planets began their cycle in mid-January of 2017. What seed of mystic beauty or inspirational love was planted at that time? Do you feel a resulting flow into your life experience now? Open to the harmony and pleasure provided.
However, the forceful Aries Moon brings conflicting messages as she re-engages the square between Jupiter and Pluto. This leaves us wondering where that sweetness went. Don’t be discouraged, the afternoon will bring us back to earth as a Grand Fire Trine offers flow and support as the Moon trines both the Sun and Saturn.
Hold steady. One foot in front of the other and accept offers of kindness and connection.
The big news of the day is that at 9:00 PM EDT, Mercury turns retrograde at 11° Virgo. Take time to prepare for the upcoming three weeks. Mercury will turn direct once again on September 5th. If you have followed my writing over the years, you’re familiar with the best ways to work right three retrograde. Here is your reminder:

PEACEFUL SUNDAY
Sunday, August 13, 2017:
The Moon leaves hot-headed Aries behind and enters Taurus at 6:39 AM EDT, ushering in a lovely day of rest. There are no aspects to concern you, just the slow, steady movement of an unruffled Taurus Moon.
While the Moon is in Taurus, your emotions long for sensual delights and find deep satisfaction in earthly pursuits. You may want to work in the garden, go for a hike, organize your budget, do some cooking, or get a massage. Whatever you choose to do, make sure it is done slowly and with simplicity. Right now, there is no need for hurry or complexity.
The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:00 AM EDT until she enters Taurus at 6:39 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
