Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: September 4, 2017 through September 10, 2017

“So it comes to pass that, when we pursue an inquiry beyond a certain depth, we step out of the field of psychological categories and enter this sphere of the ultimate mysteries of life. The floorboards of the soul, to which we try to penetrate, fan open and reveal the starry firmament.”

~ Bruno Schulz

“We use astrology most constructively and creatively when we gain from it a sense of what is possible for us at the highest levels of our potentialities. Seeing that, the challenges is then to keep our eyes open to life itself, to be able to respond appropriately when some event or change of circumstances…”

~ Dane Rudhyar, Astrological Aspects – a Process Oriented Approach

I am taking new clients again and would love to meet with you.

Monday, September 4, 2017:

Monday morning begins with a lovely sextile from the progressive Aquarius Moon to stable, hardworking Saturn. This sextile aspect offers the ability to weave together the innovation of the Aquarius Moon with ambitious, prudent Saturn. This is a lovely way to start the week! Keep your eyes open for opportunities that will allow your most unique and interesting ideas to be brought to reality.

The day continues with more positive energies as the Moon forms a flowing trine aspect to optimistic Jupiter at 11:45 AM EDT. Your ideas are further expanded as you engage with like-minded folks throughout the afternoon.

At 9:56 PM EDT, the Moon forms another sextile, this time to unconventional Uranus. This aspect encourages your ideas to expand even further outside of what you may expect of yourself.

Monday brings with it great energy, expansion, innovation, and excitement. As the Aquarius Moon opposes Mercury at 10:33 PM EDT, allow anything within your mind that has stood in the way of your unique ideas to break down and dissipate. Tuesday will bring a very different picture with sensitivity, imagination, and dreaminess.

Tuesday, September 5, 2017:

Several important shifts happen in the wee hours of Tuesday morning. First, at 1:27 AM EDT, the Virgo Sun opposes illusive Neptune and we may sleep well and have interesting dreams further supported by the Moon entering passive, dreamy Pisces at 1:29 AM EDT. Remember, that Neptune rules Pisces so the energy of Neptune and Pisces reflect and support each other. You will awake Tuesday morning with a mystical, soft edge still surrounding you. You may be highly impressionable, confused, or even a little bewildered.

It may be difficult on Tuesday to maintain boundaries between yourself and others that are generally necessary to manage your everyday life. Be aware of this and tighten them up where they are necessary and loosen them where they can help you connect to others with love.

At 5:34 AM EDT, assertive Mars leaves dramatic, playful Leo behind to enter productive Virgo where he will encourage meticulous, analytical efforts over the coming weeks. Mars will remain in Virgo until October 22nd.

Then… what we have been waiting for! At 7:29 AM EDT, Mercury turns direct at 28° Leo. This is the same point where the eclipse formed last week. It is a volatile point and we should watch the conversations and words that are being spoken by the leaders of our governments. Nevertheless, Mercury will begin moving forward steadily from here on out. You can prepare to start those projects that you have been sitting on!

Be sure to pay attention to any dreams you have on Tuesday night. By the time you wake up on Wednesday, the Full Pisces Moon will have occurred.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* for a brief 13 minutes between 1:16 AM EDT and 1:29 AM EDT (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) when she enters Pisces.

Wednesday, September 6, 2017:

I hope you are able to wake up slowly, paying attention to your inner world as you begin Wednesday morning. We reached the Full Pisces Moon at 3:03 AM EDT, Neptune joined in the event as well.

Whatever began at the Full Solar Eclipse two weeks ago, now comes into view. However, given that this Full Moon occurs in mystical Pisces and is joined with dreamy Neptune, that view is not likely to have sharp, distinct edges of clarity. This Full Moon extends to us an opportunity to see above and beyond our smaller vision. We may not see terribly clearly but we see a broadly inspired vision, beyond the boundaries to where our hearts open in whimsy, sensitivity, and imagination. We see the dream.

With Mercury now direct, use this time to fully envision that which you planted the seed for at the Eclipse on August 21st.  Reach for the dream.

The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:29 PM EDT until she enters Aries at 8:02 AM EDT on Thursday morning.

Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Thursday, September 7, 2017:

Thursday morning at 8:02 AM EDT, the Moon heats things up considerably as she enters assertive, action-oriented Aries. This is a day of high vitality as Aries begins the zodiac and pushes us to take action and begin a new project, a new activity, or a new adventure.

Over the past few days, while the Moon was moving through Pisces, you may have felt dreamy, passive, and even a bit confused. Now, with the Moon’s entrance into Aries, you are driven to act on your feelings. You may feel edgy, impatient, and even angry. If something touches you on an emotional level, you are apt to act quickly on instinct.

This is a day to keep things simple and to keep yourself physically active. Go for a hike, a bike ride, or take action on something you’ve never done before. Perhaps you’ve always wanted to try skydiving! Today’s the day. 😉

The Pisces Moon is VOC* on Thursday morning until she enters Aries at 8:02 AM EDT (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection). Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Friday, September 8, 2017:

Friday brings another day of powerful, fiery energies. There is little concern that this could be a boring day. If you were hoping for a calm, quiet day, you will likely be disappointed.

At 12:31 PM EDT, a lovely trine aspect forms between the spirited Aries Moon and the grounding Virgo Sun. You may find yourself with a powerful and yet simple need to take action to improve or change the direction of your partnerships. During the early part of the day, love and desire are expressed with playful and generous intensity.

At 1:49 PM EDT, the courageous Aries Moon is ready to leave the simplicity behind and dive into the depths of power, passion, and commitment. Perhaps, it is time to face the reality of deep forces that bubble beneath lightness and play.

At 9:28 PM EDT, the Moon forms a flowing trine aspect to determined, responsible Saturn. You have done your work for the day and you are gifted with stability, self-respect, and a deeper understanding and appreciation of the reality of your situation. Allow sleep to soothe you as we build to a powerful day on Saturday.

Saturday, September 9, 2017:

In positive psychology, “flow” is also known as “the zone”. Flow is the mental and emotional state during which you are fully immersed in focused, energized involvement in whatever activity you are doing. Essentially, flow is characterized by the complete absorption to the point where you lose your sense of time and space.

Saturday is a day where flow should be easily accessible. At 6:45 AM EDT, the meticulous Virgo Sun forms a smooth, supportive aspect to Pluto, the planet of empowerment and transformation. This is the easy movement of Earth energy, and feels grounded, stable, and focused on reality. Think of this as a cycle of recognizing your abilities and acknowledging your power in the world.

This is an annual cycle which began in January of 2017. Whatever seed you planted in your life at that time is now in a state of easy progression. Whatever steps have been taken since January have brought you to a point where you were you have learned enough to pass your wisdom to others. You will begin another cycle (really a spiral, as each progressive cycle raises us to a higher level of understanding) in January of 2018.

In the morning hours, find a way to shift anxiety to excitement as you look for the place of flow which will be much easier once the Moon enters patient, reliable Taurus at 12:23 PM EDT.

Allow yourself to rest, work in the garden, bake bread, or spend time in quiet contemplation. Before you head to bed on Saturday night, Mercury will enter analytical Virgo bringing your mind to rest in orderly precision.

The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) for about 30 minutes from 11:53 AM EDT until she enters Taurus at 12:23 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Sunday, September 10, 2017:

Sunday offers stability and calm. The tender Taurus Moon begins the day with poetic gentleness thanks to a sextile aspect to Neptune at 10:08 AM EDT. This ease and sweetness remains throughout the day.

In the evening hours, a Grand Trine is formed between the Taurus Moon, the Virgo Sun, and Pluto, currently in Capricorn. This is an Earth based Grand Trine suggesting comfort, reverence, and pragmatism. Regardless of the challenges and the difficulties of your individual life, this presents a time of rest, recuperation, and a positive realistic view of your life.

You are able to see that things are more manageable than you may have previously understood them to be. This is a day to create beauty creatively within all areas of your practical life. Please enjoy.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transits between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Time to Shine! SUN In LEO!

Happy Birthday to all LEOS!!

Leo season has officially arrived! (July 22 to August 22)

I know I’m a few days late, but having 6 Planets in LEO, in my Natal Chart gives me ample excuse to be distracted as the Sun enters this area of the Zodiac!

I get so excited this time of year it is difficult to sit still, let alone accomplish a great deal! It is nearly time for vacation!

While the SUN MOVES THROUGH LEO we are all anxious to enjoy the final days of Summer.

When I was a child I always thought of it as the beginning of Summer but with the perspective of time I see how close we are to Autumn’s long reach!

It is during this LEO SEASON that we get out and really Play! Now we seek out friends, vacations, BBQs, the Beach!

The Sun is Warm here in the Northern Hemisphere and we must enjoy it while we can!

This is a powerful time of self expression!

A key to understanding LEO is to see how very shy the Leo is beneath the surface.

A requirement for Leo in this incarnation is to learn to outwardly express, fully and completely, her/his internal nature!

If you, or someone you love, has a birthday during this time, take a moment to share with us!

What is your favorite/ least favorite thing about LEO?

Sun Signs & the Differences Between Us!

Hi, Everyone!  I will not be writing a post for this week.  I am moving this weekend, I am headed out to the country.  I apologize for the lack of a post.  Over at Astrolore’s Facebook, I will be posting the daily transits.

The following post is from the Archives!  It’s a short breakdown of Sun signs and my family, including old candid photos.  I hope you like it!  Thank you for all your support!

Sun Signs, Family, and the Differences Between Us.

What is it that makes it so difficult to understand the deep level of diversity that exists in humanity? Diversity is certainly what makes life interesting. It also makes life confusing and complicated. We grow up in these little bodies, we look around and see others who look a great deal like we do. They have a face with two eyes, a mouth, two legs, and walk upright… they must be like we are.

So, we wonder: why don’t others act the way we think they should act? Why don’t they think the way we think? Why don’t they take the advice we give them? It worked for us, didn’t it? Perhaps, we finally conclude, they just are not that smart!

Astrology opened my eyes to the shockingly huge diversity of humanity! It is what has brought me back again and again to this incredible, symbolic language with its layers upon layers of meaning. Within these layers, we see how different we are from others. We see why they do not behave as we do!

We learn to understand and appreciate how different they all are! Being able to allow your eyes to open to the true depth of human diversity is truly a gift. Before I began this study, I had deep judgments of the other humans around me. I just could not understand how they could be the way they were.

At approximately age 12, I discovered Sun Sign astrology. Even with just that one piece of astrological information, I was able to develop some understanding of the different members of my family.   Their Sun Signs are as follows:

Father – Virgo

Mother – Pisces

Brother Michael – Sagittarius

Sister Jo – Scorpio                    (Originally, we thought she was a Libra!)

Sister Gail – Leo

Brother Mark – Aquarius

Myself, the youngest – Leo.

Well, okay that understanding did help! It eased my impatience within this crazy family that I grew up in, my family of origin.

I learned to be more tolerant of Dad’s insistence that our bedrooms be precise and orderly every Saturday morning. It seemed he was running the family as a small military camp. We literally stood at attention as he inspected our rooms those Saturday mornings. I am grateful today for the amazing work ethic that he taught us in those years.

I developed a bit more compassion for my Mom’s dreamy, passive nature. Watching her feed the chickadees from her hand, as she stood motionless for hours in the snow, suddenly seemed less crazy and more surreal, whimsical, and even poetic.

Michael, the oldest sibling was certainly careless, boisterous, and opinionated! To this day, I do not know what more to say about Michael! Think about the Sun & Jupiter conjunct the Sagittarius Ascendent! This is a person with a personality so large it is hard to imagine it being contained in the body of a small child!

Jo never seemed to fit what I read about Libra, I chocked that up to her many years of serious illness as a child. She was born moments after the Sun moved into Scorpio with Pluto conjunct the Ascendent as well. It is no surprise that what I read about Libra didn’t fit her. When I discovered, years later, that her Sun was not in Libra but in Scorpio, it made so much more sense. Her years of illness as an infant had given her much power and control within the family. There was always a mysterious, private depth to her.

Gail had such vitality. She was so exuberant and expressive! There was no question that the Leo archetype fits her well. Her waist length, bright, red hair along with her natural generosity and charisma kept her at the center of all social situations. In many ways, we all revolved around the sincerity and warmth of that Leo Sun.

My brother, Mark, certainly was aloof and independent. He followed no one’s rules and refused to engage in drama. The detachment of Aquarius was clearly strong in his personality. I will never forget the day Dad forced him to throw away his patched, hippy, bell-bottom blue jeans! No matter what, Mark would never cry when provoked and would never give in. He got the pants out of the trash the next day and boldly wore them. No word about it was mentioned. I think ultimately our father knew what he was up against in Mark was not a battle that could be won.

As for myself, it was hard for me to show up with the amount of Leo energy that I was blessed with (6 Leo planets, Aries Moon). It seemed that brother Michael and sister Gail had as much fire as the family could handle. As the youngest in the family, I had the opportunity to observe the family, to see what worked and what didn’t work.

I was able to see how the family responded to Michael and Gail’s expression of Fire and I chose to keep the extent of my Leo/Aries nature under wraps. My Virgo Ascendent allowed me to keep it hidden fairly well. As an adult, I still struggle to find healthy ways to express all that Fire. The entire family, my siblings and my own adult life would have been very different had the dramatic beauty of Fire been celebrated and encouraged rather than restrained and controlled.

That amount of understanding came with the just the simplest understanding of the Sun signs. As I read and began to see that there was so much more involved in this study of Astrology I became hooked! I saw that this was a tool, a symbolic language that could open a window of understanding that would enable me to love and appreciate people in all the infinite variety that human beings come in.
