A note from a client: My session with Laurie was completely gratifying in every way. Wise, warm and witty, Laurie’s explanation as to how the stars work with us as we learn the lessons of this life was nothing less than revelatory. Careful and kind, Laurie gave me information that is bound to inform how I move forward from widowhood into the next phase of my life. I feel guided, warned, bolstered by my personal astrology as it was explained to me by Laurie. I would love to study with her one day because she makes it all so accessible and relevant. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She knows her craft and she is a born teacher. A gift to her profession and to all of us who are fortunate enough to be directed her way! Contemplation for the week:
“We don’t need more money, we don’t need greater success or fame, we don’t need the perfect body or even the perfect mate right now, at this very moment, we have a mind, which is all the basic equipment needed to achieve complete happiness.”
~ Dalai Lama

This certainly looks like an interesting week ahead!

Monday looks relatively uneventful although it should be a great day for ambitious accomplishment.

Tuesday brings the stress of the First-Quarter Moon as you become aware of the need to take a particular action to prepare for the future. The action necessary may be within the context of a relationship, an idea, a material possession, or something else altogether.

Mercury moves into full action on Thursday as it forms a square to Pluto and (of course) by the end of the week it will also oppose Uranus. As the impact of these aspects last for several days, these two may be working together to bring your attention, once again, back to the intense transformative days of the square between Uranus and Pluto.

Even though the square between Uranus and Pluto had its final hit in mid-March, we are still in a very active phase of assimilating and understanding the true depth of its impact on your individual life and in the larger human community.

Venus comes into play later in the week as she makes a beautiful, powerful, free flowing trine to Pluto on Friday and then joins forces with Jupiter on Sunday. This is a powerful week of empowering and expanding your values, love relationship, and money and resources! Remember, the flow of money may be going out as likely as coming in; be aware and conscious of which direction your money is moving.

Are you concerned or unclear about your path ahead?  Let Astrolore help you see your life and your path forward from a perspective that will change everything. Allow more joy and love into your life.

FOCUS ON AMBITION

Monday, October 19, 2015:

Our weekend, now behind us, has left in its wake a great deal of forward moving energy. Monday is the perfect day to put that energy to good use.

With the Capricorn Moon making many aspects throughout the day, there is much activity. Put your shoulder to the grindstone, as they say, and you can accomplish more in this day than in many weeks.

With the Moon in Capricorn, your work is likely to be solitary work. This is not a day for corroboration or for working on projects you hope to receive accolades on.

This is a day when you work for your own applause. Consider the Mountain Goat that represents Capricorn. He works alone with focus, ambition, and integrity. He is not in a hurry; he has no concerns with what others think. It is all about what must be done by the end of the day. Follow his lead.

“We all make choices, but in the end our choices make us.” ~ Andrew Ryan

WHAT ACTION WILL YOU TAKE?

Tuesday, October 20, 2015:

Tuesday begins with our minds still on the work we accomplished on Monday. Begin the day with a grounding meditation in order to continue on that project.

By late afternoon, you may experience some frustration with your progress. At that point, it is time to give yourself a break.

Consider what you began, what seeds you planted, or what intentions you made at the New Moon on October 12th. A specific action is required bring that intention to life. Consider the seed you planted at the New Moon; now it is time to water that seed with a specific action and the vision of its full growth in mind.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* between 4:32 PM EDT and 9:38 PM EDT when the Moon enters Aquarius. Enjoy a low-key evening without high expectations on yourself or others.

“Things do not change, we change.” ~Henry David Thoreau

EXPLORE IDEAS

Wednesday, October 21, 2015:

Contemplate Stillness by Laurie Farrington

Contemplate Stillness by Laurie Farrington

You may notice, on Wednesday, that your interest in solitary work has passed. Now, your mind turns to those who can help you and those you can help with some of the lessons you have recently learned. This is a day of corroboration and action taken with a humanitarian focus in mind.

The Aquarius Moon forms pleasant aspects to both Saturn and Mercury on Wednesday. Your emotional nature feel supported and stabilized; from that place of support you are able to express your ideas effectively.

Thursday brings powerful intensification that you will begin feeling on Wednesday.

It is important to consider, as you express your thoughts and ideas, that this is a time of sharing those ideas in order to receive input. You may feel a deep shift happening on, deep within your opinions.

Do not hold hard lines within your thinking. Allow space to change your mind. Enjoy the process of exploring your thoughts and ideas with others.

“Art requires philosophy, just as philosophy requires art. Otherwise, what would become of beauty?” ~ Paul Gauguin

EXPLORE THE DEEP MIND

Thursday, October 22, 2015:

Now, we enter the more intense part of this week. The Moon remains in Aquarius as we are reminded of the plight of humanity. How do you make a contribution to the suffering of humankind? This is an excellent question to ask yourself. How blessed is your life and how are you being of service to others?

The significant aspect of Thursday is traditionally considered to be very negative. Mercury square Pluto is thought of as a time when you may be suspicious of or mistrust others.

I tend to put a more positive spin on most of astrology, as I believe that it is often up to us to determine how we experience these daily aspects and cycles.

Yes, you may notice your mind seeking negativity under this influence. You may also notice that your mind wants to dig very deeply and uncover what is hidden in the dark quiet spot within.

If you notice yourself being suspicious or negative, pay attention to what is hidden beneath that negativity. Depth holds great beauty if we can look beneath the muck. Think of compost.

An excellent use of this day would be to spend time in silent meditation, exploring the power within the depths of your mind. It would also be very powerful to pick up pen and paper to explore the depths of your mind through writing.

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but rather the judgment that something else is more important than fear.” ~ Ambrose Redmoon

SUN ENTERS SCORPIO: A DAY OF POWER

Friday, October 23, 2015:

Early Friday afternoon, the Sun leaves Libra behind to enter Scorpio at 1:46 PM EDT. Have you noticed a deep quietness that settles upon you at this time of year? We each tend to go inward; we go deep, we feel the intensity and understand the reality of our own mortality. That is the energy that Scorpio brings.

Here, in the Northern Hemisphere, the days have become very short. We wake up in the morning and it is dark, we come home after work in the dark. The leaves are off the trees and we see images of death and dying all around us. Your mind and heart plunge to the deepest core.

In our culture, this is the time of Halloween; a time when everyone seems to enjoy a sense of what is frightening and hidden. This is a time to contemplate death, darkness, and what is hidden beneath the surface.

It is always worth exploring the darker corners of your mind. There is great wisdom and rich gifts hidden there.

The Moon entered Pisces in the early hours of the morning bringing a bit of softness and an opening to your imagination.
Friday also brings a trine aspect between Venus and Pluto. Anytime there is a trine aspect between two planets, it brings the energies together in a powerful free flow of positive energy. Venus represents our values, our love relationships, and our finances. In a positive encounter, Pluto brings empowerment and transcendence. Consider your values and love relationships being infused with deep empowerment and transcendence.

Friday will bring a powerful day indeed. Connect with a loved one or with your own empowerment. Make good use of this day within the context of a sexual relationship or in deep personal work. It’s a great night for ritual trance work or simply take yourself out dancing!

“Avoid popularity; it has many snares, and no real benefit.” ~ William Penn

SENSITIVITY AND IMAGINATION

Saturday, October 24, 2015:

Saturday is a day of assimilating the high intensity of Friday.

The Moon is in Pisces all day, enabling you to utilize and work with your imagination and your deepest sensitivities. This is a day to expand your beliefs and look for areas to put those beliefs into practical use.

Your imagination is activated in service to your values. The actual work of the service will come later; this is simply a time to seek the pathway. The path forward may seem vague or allusive. Clarity will come later.

Work with yourself exactly where you are. If the path forward feels surreal, intangible, or inspired, you are on the right path.

“The opposite of a correct statement is a false statement. But the opposite of a profound truth may well be another profound truth.”~ Niels Bohr

REFINED BEAUTY; UNCONVENTIONAL THOUGHTS

Sunday, October 25, 2015:

Following the dreamy day we had on Saturday, Sunday brings a day of action. The Moon is in Aries, providing the energy to get done what that didn’t get done on Saturday.

Venus conjunct Jupiter at 4:03 PM EDT, begins a cycle of optimistically expanding love and beauty in your life. The values that are being expanded are of a refined elegance.

Think about the values of discrimination, efficiency, humility, and kindness. There is nothing showy here, no hot passion or intensity. Expand with the love of service and kindness to others.

If your birthday is between September 4 – 10th, December 4 – 10th, March 1 – 7th, or June 2 – 8th, this will be particularly significant in your life.

At 6:59 PM EDT, Mercury opposes Uranus. Expect progressive conversations, anticipate unconventional changes in your thinking, and consider innovative ways to view the world.

Open your mind to thoughts, ideas, and topics of study that will open and expand your philosophical understanding and bring adventure and wisdom to your life.

The weekend ends on a powerful note as we reach ever closer to the Full Moon next Tuesday.

“Try a thing you haven’t done three times. Once, to get over the fear of doing it. Twice, to learn how to do it. And a third time, to figure out whether you like it or not.” ~ Virgil Garnett Thomson

This week: The VOC* Moon!
VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!

If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!

Tuesday, October 20, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Capricorn) following a square to the Sun at 4:32 PM EDT until she enters Aquarius at 9:38 PM EDT.

Friday, October 23, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Aquarius) following a trine to the Sun at 12:22 AM EDT until she enters Pisces at 1:17 AM EDT.

Saturday, October 24, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Pisces) following an opposition to Mars at 7:18 AM EDT until she enters Aries on Sunday, October 25, 2015 at 2:22 AM EDT.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
*The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
*The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: March 2, 2015 through March 8, 2015

Welcome to another week!
Here we are finally in the month of March, 2015. I remember back in 2011 looking ahead with trepidation at the time between Summer of 2012 and Spring of 2015.

I remember wondering what that time was going to bring for the world, our culture, and our own personal lives.

Now, we are at the very end of this amazing time. The path we have been on has changed dramatically. It almost feels as though we’ve been lifted up and placed in a whole new world.

Grimm’s Fairy Tales Book Illustration with Rapunzel in Her Tower

We still have one more exact hit of the transit that has rocked our world over these past few years. The final connection between these two planets comes on March 16, 2015 at 9:53 PM EST. Uranus makes her final square to Pluto at that time.

Does this mean that the entire transformation of these last two years is over and things will settle down immediately? No. I do not expect that will be the case.

In thinking back to 1965 and 1966, when these powerful transformative planets came together and began their current cycle, it is clear to me that it took quite a while for the world to settle down following that impact.

As I look back to that time in my own life and at the history of that time, it is clear that everything did not settle down immediately following 1966. Much of the turmoil persisted. Some of the most relevant work of a transit follows the actual impact. The time of rebuilding continues the hard work. As we move forward, we assimilate what has occurred and pull our lives together to manage the change.

The thing with change is that often times the deepest transformation occurs more quietly than we expect; under wraps. Now, the change will begin to manifest in real world situations.

Watch these changes. Do you feel dread or excitement? Please make a conscious choice to choose excitement. This change/transformation is much needed in our world and in ourselves.

Monday, March 2, 2015:

Monday brings us an energized and active Leo Moon. Yes, we are in the middle of profound change. Yes, the amount of change may be deeply unsettling. We have little idea of where we will land. Yet, here in the middle of our uncertainty, right in the middle of not knowing, Monday offers us a view of enthusiastic possibility. You are able to see the potential of excitement on the path forward.

Allow yourself to enjoy the forward motion that you know is required and feel so strongly. We are building powerfully toward the final square between Uranus and Pluto. Utilize the generosity inherent in this day. This will strengthen our resolve as we move in the direction of our chosen path.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015:

Tuesday begins with the Moon VOC* in Leo. The dramatic Leo Moon remains in this non-active resting space until Wednesday morning at 6:58 AM EST. This is a very long VOC* Moon. If you can simply write this day off; hang out, read a book, or visit with friends that would be my top choice for the day! If you are not able to take the full day off, try not to put your effort and attention on anything that you need to amount to much down the road. Nothing much will come from the activities of Tuesday. Work with no expectation! VOC* days can be lovely if you can simply work with the reality of no expectation. We all need a day of rest periodically. At this time, because all the planets are gathered in the early degree of signs we have this situation where the VOC* periods are unusually extended.

However, Tuesday does hold the highly active excitement of Jupiter trine Uranus. The trine aspect suggests a free flowing energy between these two planets. The energy of Uranus carries a strong buzz and brings us new unexpected information and expansion. Jupiter speaks of faith, believe, and enlargement of purpose. Due to the retrograde motions, we encountered this transit in September 2014, and we will see it again in June of 2015. Consider any excitement or expansion that you felt in September. What is the common theme between then and now? Where is it bringing you? How is it changing your life? This transit could open the floodgates of love or money. It could suggest an expansion of an unusual belief system or an encounter with a culture quite different from your own. Enjoy this free flow of excitement. If something presents itself in your life that has the potential to expand your view into the future, run with it!

Wednesday, March 4, 2015:

On Wednesday, the Moon enters Virgo at 6:58 AM EST, ending the VOC* Moon that was with us all day on Tuesday. Thank goodness. Ask: where can I be of service?

Venus steps into a very powerful position Thursday, first forming a trine aspect to Jupiter; on it’s own this aspect

Book Illustration of Fairies with Yellow Flowers by Margaret Winifred Tarrant

Book Illustration of Fairies with Yellow Flowers by Margaret Winifred Tarrant

could be expected to expand our capacity for love, relationship, or understanding of our values and beliefs. Right on the heels of this aspect, Venus meets directly with Uranus. This begins a new cycle of unusual expressions and expansion of relationship, love, and personal values. What are you excited about today? Venus also forms a square aspect to Pluto. The Uranus Pluto square, which forms its final connection on March 16th, is activated strongly by our love relationships and our connection to beauty, social discourse, and our personal values. How are you choosing to move forward with what others may not approve of? How is the transformation occurring in our lives informed by our deepest values and the reality of those we love? This is a very significant day. Pay careful attention to the course of your life from where you stand today. The pressure of change within our lives is very powerful at this time. This is true for us individually and for the cultures and world we live in.

Please treat others with deep kindness and respect. Not just those in your tightest circle of friends, coworkers, and family. Add a dose of kindness to those you encounter in more casual circumstances. Consider that everyone you meet is working with some version of highly intense issues. Show compassion and kindness to each human you encounter.

Thursday, March 5, 2015:

The Full Moon in Virgo is exact at 1:06 PM EST! After all of the intensity of Wednesday (certainly still with us), Thursday allows us to focus on straightening up, cleaning house, organizing, and tidying up some of that mess that seems to be everywhere we look.

At 1:37 PM EST, the Virgo Moon forms a trine aspect to Pluto followed by another very long VOC*. (*sigh). The Moon will remain VOC* until Friday at 7:52 PM EST when she enters Libra to bring us a more socially pleasant weekend.

At 7:18 PM EST, the Sun sextile Pluto. Think back to the very first week of 2015. Consider where you felt the need to deeply empower yourself with a major change in your life. Now you are empowered to gather information for taking a major step in that direction. The major step will occur in early April. The full ramification of what you began in January will be clear by the first week of July.

As you consider the cycles, it helps to remember that there are constantly multiple cycles overlapping and working together and against each other in our lives.
Therein lies the complexity of our path.

This particular cycle is one that has the potential of seriously empowering our future; it may require a time of solitude and is more apt to speak to our careers than our personal life. As you gather information on this next step forward, keep your eyes open this week for an opportunity that is significant to the next step. If an opportunity presents itself this week that fits this criteria, say YES!

Friday, March 6, 2015:

Oh my!! I find it a bit painful to look ahead and see another full day with VOC* Moon. As a reminder; VOC* is an acronym for ‘void of course’. This means that the Moon on its course around Earth is making no major aspects to other planets until it enters the next sign. Often, times these periods will only last a few minutes or a few hours. However, when most of the planets are in early degrees of their signs we can have these times where we have very long stretches of VOC* Moon. The difficulty during these times shows up if we are working toward accomplishment or if we want a result from how our time is spent. If we could each take these times for rest, recuperation, and routine activities there would be no problem. If we are trying to get something done that we expect to amount to something, we can feel as though we are spinning our wheels.

Things you don’t want to do during the VOC* moon: have surgery, get married, sign a business deal, begin a project, have an important meeting, or even buy new clothes! The things that you do during these times generally don’t amount to much. They don’t necessarily turn bad; they simply don’t amount to much! Some years ago I had carpal tunnel surgery during a VOC* Moon. You would think I would know better! Maybe it was a test! All that I went through with that surgery and there was absolutely no improvement in the issues with my wrist. Since that time, I’ve watched these VOC* Moon periods far more carefully!

Rest, watch a movie, read a novel, do routine tasks, clean the house!

At 7:52 PM EST, the Moon enters Libra bringing us a lovely Friday evening for socializing, spending the evening quietly with a partner, or creating something of beauty.

Saturday, March 7, 2015:

I hope you all took advantage of Friday evening with the Moon having entered Libra after such a long day with VOC* Moon. The socialization, the time spent with an intimate partner, or the effort you put into creating something of beauty should be extended throughout Saturday.

The best use of this day is to pick and choose from the list I recommended for Friday: socializing with friends, spending intimate times with a partner, or creating art or something of beauty.  Go out to lunch with your friends, stay home and create art, enjoy romantic time with a loved one! Can you imagine a more perfect day?

Yes, I know all of this is resting on the surface. Below this surface level, we are building so closely to that Uranus Pluto square. None of it is really as perfect or simple as we would like; there are intense undercurrents. Nevertheless creating art and spending time with loved ones and friends is the best prescription for this day. As the evening winds down, it may be best to head to sleep early, and reminder of that intensity is at hand. Enjoy what is good and positive about this day. Be kind. Be patient.

Sunday March 8, 2015:

If you went to bed early enough on Saturday night, you may have missed the intensity bubbling up beneath the surface. Sleep late on Sunday and perhaps you can play-out a good amount of that intensity in your dreams!

As the Moon moves through Libra on Sunday, she opposes Uranus and squares Pluto. This activates the intense power dynamics and demand for change between them. We are reminded of the seething cauldron below the surface of our world, our cultures, and our own personal lives. As we move further into the day, the energy will ease up and lighten.

Please remember it is always best to look our demons clearly in the eye. When we get to know and appreciate the darkness, we realize we can see better than we expected.

Two practices that will help immeasurably at this: Meditation and Kindness.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: February 2, 2015 through February 8, 2015

Here we are at the first week of February!

As the Sun continues its path through Aquarius, I consider the sharp intellect, intense clarity, and extreme brilliance of Aquarius to color these days.
Following the solstice on December 21st, the light has continued to return a few moments each day. At this point in the process, in the northern climates (I am writing from Vermont, USA), we experience a profound shift in the quality of light.

When I think of February, I think of brilliant sunshine glittering off ice and snow. There is brilliance and clarity in that light that is unlike any other!  Perhaps it is because of the opposition to the sign of Leo, which is ruled by the Sun. Opposite Signs have much in common; in the case of Leo and Aquarius I think the commonality is the brilliance of the Sun and the perspective of clarity.

Woman combing her hair by Edgar Degas

Woman combing her hair by Edgar Degas

Aquarius is the sign of genius; not genius in the way of being of the highest intelligence, but genius in the ability to think outside boundaries that culture or family have imposed upon us.  That is the brilliance and the genius of Aquarius.

The Full Moon in Leo on Tuesday enables us to see outside social (or familial) constructed boxes of limitation. Allow yourself to shine in full expression of your own individual truth.

The aspects throughout the week are highly positive. This brings us a week with plenty of opportunity to enjoy, stabilize, and deepen our relationships and circumstances.

Monday, February 2, 2015:

Starting the week off with an aspect between the Sun and Uranus indicates a week of excitement and a bit of instability.

We begin the week with the Moon VOC* in Cancer, suggesting a slow start to the day, couldn’t we just sleep a few more hours?

At 7:29 AM EST, the Sun forms it’s closing sextile to Uranus. In April 2014, the cycle between the Sun and Uranus began. Perhaps you received surprising news or began an unusual study or project at that time. Consider what began that was of an unconventional nature in April 2014. This cycle came to full illumination in October of 2014.

If you know what this cycle represents in your life, you may realize that it is now time to be actively completing or releasing that project or study.  If you are unclear, simply pay attention to a truth or belief that is leading you to a powerful and empowering change, which will begin a new cycle of seeking individuality in early April 2015.

If you are experiencing anxiety on Monday, look at where you are attempting to avoid or hold back some significant change in your life. Stop resisting the change and the anxiety will lift.

You may hear, experience, or somehow encounter a reality that will offer you the opportunity to move forward toward your most necessary change.

Tuesday, February 3, 2015:

A lovely Full Moon occurs in Leo at 6:09 PM EST. The New Moon appeared in Aquarius on January 20th, two weeks ago. Consider what began at that time and what you now see as the result.

The Moon is brilliantly clear on Tuesday as she makes contact with Mercury and Uranus.

This is a chillingly bright day, offering the possibility of clarity and generosity of spirit. The Full Moon occurs when the Moon and Sun are exactly opposing each other. With the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo; consider the intellect of Aquarius and the heart generosity of Leo being open to a clear, unobstructed view of each other. Thinking of the Zodiac as a round table, consider planets at opposite sides of that table; as the Sun and Moon are on Tuesday. In this position, they have the clearest view of each other and the most direct avenue for communication. The Moon in Leo insists on full expression of generosity and openhearted love; the Sun in Aquarius shines brightly as the humanitarian and somewhat eccentric ‘truth sayer’. As these two stand facing each other in full sight, our generosity opens into new levels of humanitarian acceptance and love.

Observe with new eyes those folks who are deeply and profoundly unlike you. Fully accept the variety of human nature, human belief, and human reality. Look clearly into the deepest core, to where our differences dissolve.

Young Woman with Ibis by Edgar Degas

Young Woman with Ibis by Edgar Degas

I find it interesting when we go through spells with such long VOC* Moons! This happens when the majority of the planets are in early degrees of the Signs. Wednesday brings us a full day with the Moon VOC* in Leo.
I would anticipate a fabulous day as long as work and accomplishment are not your top priority.

Wednesday will be ideal for playful socializing with friends, keeping warm by the fire with a good book, or window-shopping to your hearts content! Let’s get clear about that last example. Window-shopping could be great fun, however, actually purchasing items could prove to be problematic. The final aspect the Moon makes in Leo is a conjunction to Jupiter; watch for overspending or overindulgence of all types.

Considering that overindulgence may be a problem, push your energy in the direction of love and caring for others. Overindulge in kindness. Wednesday would be a great day to play with children, visit the elderly, and/or bring love to those who have been forgotten.

Thursday, February 5, 2015:

We are relieved to wake up Thursday morning to the Moon solidly in Virgo bringing us a day where accomplishment is not only possible but likely to comes with ease. At 6:38 AM EST, Mercury sextile Saturn is asking us to look back to late November 2014, when a new cycle began between Mercury and Saturn. This cycle brought a serious topic of study or consideration to mind. Due to Mercury now being retrograde, we must reconsider the topic. The retrograde gives us an extended period of researching and considering what is needed to bring this topic to its desired conclusion.

On March 16, 2015, we reach the First Quarter Square in the cycle between them. At that time, we will be ready to take a serious step forward on this project, study, or idea.

Thursday morning holds serious energy, which will be replaced later in the afternoon by a bit of dreaminess, lack of clarity, or simply exhaustion.

Perhaps, you will want to focus your attention on health concerns. Pay attention to your body, how it feels, and how you care for it. Pay attention, as well, to your pets and their health concerns. A bit of selfless service to the outside world will do wonders for your self-esteem and your way of moving through life. As you care for and show value toward others, you also learn to more highly value yourself. Bring love to all corners of your life.

Friday, February 6, 2015:

Friday brings us another day of high productivity. We have a lot of energy to get a great deal accomplished on Friday.
At 1:19 PM EST, the Sun opposes Jupiter. This brings us to a full view of where our lives have expanded over the past six months. The Sun and Jupiter began this cycle of expansion in the last week of July 2014. The view is clear now.

We are able to see clearly how far we have come, how much our lives have grown and expanded throughout this time. The clarity is right there before our eyes!

Consider what began expanding in July 2014 and how that is now fully expressed and illuminated in your life. I would love to hear your experience! Please leave me a note!

The Moon is in Virgo going VOC* at 5:09 PM EST following an opposition to Mars. We may find ourselves struggling with frustration and crankiness Friday evening.

If you notice tension and strain in your conversations with others, simply set those communications aside for now. Whatever the conversation, there are better times to have it! Spending the evening at the gym, or some other solitary physical activity would be ideal.

Saturday February 7, 2015:

Allow yourself a slow leisurely start to Saturday morning. The Moon is VOC*, still being influenced by the opposition to Mars on Friday. Don’t be surprised if you feel a little cranky. Please don’t let it rule your morning, there is no reason for it to last! Let the energy pass through you.

At 1:44 PM EST, the Moon enters Libra and we release that crankiness that has kept us feeling a bit separate from others. Saturday afternoon everything takes on a lighter feel and we can enjoy a wonderful afternoon, evening, and Saturday night!

Yes! Whatever the question is, the answer is yes! Allow yourself the joy of connection, the joy of friendship, and the joy of socialization on this Saturday evening! Have a party, go to a party, or enjoy a night on the couch with an intimate partner.

I would be remiss to not mention that very early Sunday morning, shortly after midnight, Venus forms a sextile to Pluto. The energy of this transit will impact the entire weekend.

Sextiles always represent opportunities or possibilities. We can ignore them if we choose. When Pluto and Venus come together, there is a powerful attraction available. This is a powerful impact, a powerful pull toward love and all things of beauty. Our values are empowered profoundly. Keep your eyes open for deep transformative attraction.

Say: Yes!

Sunday February 8, 2015:

As I spoke about in Saturday’s post, the Venus sextile Pluto aspect is exact at 12:53 AM EST. Keep your eyes and your heart open for the opportunity to connect in deeply transformative ways with love, beauty, desire, and that which we value most deeply in our lives. If you feel pulled toward love or beauty, allow yourself to go with this profound offered opportunity.

The Moon is in Libra all day; this evening connecting with the ongoing square between Uranus and Pluto. You may feel that you need to justify some action that you have taken this weekend. Be prepared to own your right to create the life that works best for you. Watch for misunderstandings.

Don’t let the potential stress of the evening cause you any concern as you accept the love that is offered and the joy that this weekend offers.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the moon VOC*!

Monday, February 2, the Moon begins the week VOC* in Cancer until 12:41 PM EST when she enters Leo.

Wednesday, February 4, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Leo) following a conjunction to Jupiter at 12:31AM EST and ending Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 12:46 AM EST when the Moon enters Virgo.

Friday, February 6, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Virgo) following an opposition to Mars at 5:09 PM EST and lasting until Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:44 PM EST when the Moon enters Libra.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC* time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*.

The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions.
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: January 12, 2015 through January 19, 2015

For myself, and I expect most of you, the past week has focused on simply assimilating the intensity of last week’s Cancer Full Moon. That was no ordinary Full Moon; even for Cancer!

With the Sun Conjunct Pluto and the Moon and the Sun Square Uranus; that was clearly no ordinary Full Moon. All of the energy from the past two years of Uranus transiting Square to Pluto was packed into that Full Moon!

When the Full Moon is in Cancer and when the Moon moves through Cancer, we live with increased sensitivity and moodiness. Due to this Full Moon’s connection to the Square between Uranus and Pluto, the energies brought forth were off the chart with intensity and long-term impact.

Some of you finally released something that has been holding you back for a very long time. It could be the ending of a long-term relationship, the release of an addiction, or the release of a particular belief or attachment. No matter how difficult, you now have space in your life for profound growth.

On the other side of that powerful Full Moon and following the assimilation of the past week, we now gather our bearings to move forward.

At the end of last week, Mars, Venus, and Mercury were all traveling through Aquarius. The energy of Aquarius has enabled us some detachment from the emotional turmoil of letting go. There are certainly parts of us that are able to see the future clearly enough to understand the necessity of releasing the past.

On Monday morning, Mars leaves Venus and Mercury behind to enter the deeply intuitive waters of Pisces. As we move into the week, we consider the best way to balance the energies of cool intellectual detachment and deep mystical intuition. Our ideas and our values are wildly original and yet we must fall back upon our intuition to move forward with the proper action.

Both Venus and Mercury form Sextile aspects to Uranus this week, offering us new possibilities and allowing us a glimpse of an exciting and unexpected future that is right around the corner!

Wednesday and Thursday could pose a challenge as we feel restriction upon our freedom and our movement in the very direction we seek.

Keep in mind that ‘no’ only means ‘No, for now’. If something is preventing you from moving forward, let yourself slow down and allow your intuition to show you the proper way to move ahead. Allow intuition and a softer heart to guide the way.

Okay, let’s break it down by the day!

Monday, January 12, 2015:

The week begins with the Moon in Libra making contact with the Square between Uranus and Pluto. An emotional intensity on Monday will connect your thoughts firmly to the gigantic shift that you’re still in the process of undergoing.

Truly, I do hope you understand this will not last forever! I know we have talked about the Square between Uranus and Pluto for so long I’m concerned some of you may be bored with the whole business. However, there are only a few more months until it begins to (finally) drift away. The energy between these planets reflects the revolutionary transformation of our lives that is continuing to build until it’s final culmination in March.

Monday morning Mars leaves Aquarius behind to enter Pisces. Mars is not delighted to be in Pisces. Mars wants to be in Fire signs, or perhaps in an Air Sign, but he certainly does not want to be in the intuitive, emotional sign of Pisces. During the time that Mars travels through Pisces, let’s pay careful attention to any passive aggressive tendencies we may have. We are also likely to see those tendencies in others. When you encounter passive aggressive behavior in yourself or others, it is probably best to simply observe and pay attention.

Mars will remain in Pisces until February 19th. During this time, any forward action will be best done from a quiet place of heartfelt intuition. This is a lovely time to start a meditation practice as it will support your ability to understand your true physical, mental, and emotional energies.

Tuesday, January 13, 2015:

Tuesday the Moon begins the day in Libra. While we sleep, she makes her final Square to the Sun at 4:47AM EST. This is the Third Quarter Square of the Moon and is a time of letting go and releasing. It is a time to release what you have been clinging to out of fear. It is time to look forward to what is on the horizon. Following this Square, the Moon is VOC* until she enters Scorpio at 6:44PM EST, another very long VOC* period.

We may feel an emotional deepening, however, at 3:11PM EST Venus Sextile Uranus to help keep those emotions at bay.

Think about this connection for a moment and you may feel the excitement, intensity, and buzzzz! Venus represents our deepest values, our love relationships, and our finances. Uranus loves to shake things up with excitement, anxiety, or simple intensification.

In mid-May 2014, Venus Conjunct Uranus began a powerful cycle of developing an unexpected love, an unusual personal value system/life style, or perhaps even an unconventional way of making money or dealing with finances. The cycle that began in mid-May has been busy revolutionizing your life and your personal values since that time.

As the end of that cycle comes into focus, we are given an opportunity to trust the changes that have occurred and let go of our previous expectation. We must take any opportunity offered to prepare for the new cycle that begins early in March 2015.

Wednesday, January 14, 2015:

Wednesday brings Mercury to the place that Venus was on Tuesday: Sextile Uranus. There is great excitement and possibly anxiety in the middle of this week due to both Venus and Mercury connecting with Uranus.

On Wednesday, we are focused less on our personal values, money, and relationships and more on our thoughts, communications, and ideas. Again, we have the opportunity to say things that may be unexpected and to hear things that may change our lives. If secrets were not exposed at the Full Moon, they have another opportunity to be revealed.

On Tuesday, we looked at the cycle between Venus and Uranus (and the development of an unusual value system), now on Wednesday we are looking at the cycle between Mercury and Uranus. On April 14, 2014 a new cycle between them began, encouraging us to develop a new perception of our world, a new way of thinking, and a new way of communicating. Clearly, these two cycles (Venus and Uranus; Mercury and Uranus) are closely connected. In the Spring of 2014, something in our lives began that opened our minds and our deepest values in an expansive new direction. This week we see how far we have come and take the opportunity to prepare for closure and the new cycle that will begin in the Spring of 2015.

The Moon is in Scorpio throughout the day encouraging us to feel deeply and to explore our dark places that need the healing of the light. Enjoy the process.

Thursday, January 15, 2015:

Get your journals out again as we have another cycle to talk about! Thursday begins with Mars Square Saturn at 1:09AM EST. When you think about the cycle of Mars and Saturn, consider how you structure and stabilize your directed, assertive energy. Mars represents forceful, aggressive action; Saturn represents restriction, structure, stabilization, and hard work.

A new cycle began between Mars and Saturn in late August 2014. At that time, we began working in a new way with our most base physical energies. Mars also represents sexual energy. Consider what began on a physical or sexual level at that time. On Thursday, the Square that is formed between Mars and Saturn is a First Quarter Square. This suggests that we have reached a crisis point in the development of the cycle. Look clearly and determine what action must be taken to bring this cycle forward in terms of maximum fulfillment. Do not be concerned that there is a stress upon your energy; it is necessary and a very important part of the cycle. Determine what action needs to be taken and do not hesitate to take that action now.

The Moon continues through Scorpio on Thursday going VOC* at 6:52PM EST until Friday morning when she will enter Sagittarius to add a little spark to our weekend.  Enjoy a quiet evening of emotional connection to self and others.

Friday, January 16, 2015:

At 3AM EST, the Moon enters Sagittarius! I am always delighted to see a weekend with the Moon in a Fire Sign.

The Moon in Sagittarius encourages us to explore new ways of encountering our world. The early part of the day may feel a bit restrictive and irritable. By the time we reach evening, I suspect we will all be looking forward to a more pleasant time. This should be a fun Friday night.

Do watch your tendency to be overly opinionated. Be open to different ways of seeing the world, celebrate diversity, and learn from those who are very different from your usual cohorts. With that in mind, you can anticipate a lovely weekend.  On the other hand, if you approach others as though their opinions don’t count and that you have the best beliefs and ideas, this could be a very rough weekend.

Take time to listen and make an effort to understand people whose perspective on the world comes from a very different place than your own.

Saturday, January 17, 2015:

The early part of Saturday is great for any activity, work, or tasks that encourage or require open communication, learning, and self growth! Continuing the theme of Friday, this is a great day to explore ideas outside of your normal routine or accustomed ways of participating in the world. People who think differently than you and who see the world from a very different perspective have a great deal to teach you at this time.

At 2:25PM EST following a Trine to Jupiter, the Moon is VOC* until entering Capricorn early Sunday morning.

A great day for fun, learning, and exploration! Get out of the house (no matter how cold it is) go skiing, go hiking, find a party and join in!

Sunday, January 18, 2015:

I hope you made Saturday work in terms of fun and pleasures because Sunday is a very different kind of day. Unless hard work is your preferred activity, this will not be a great a day as Saturday.

Don’t get me wrong, this does not signify a negative day! Sunday actually looks like a fabulous day for accomplishment. Do you have a project you really want to get some major movement on before Mercury turns retrograde next week? This is the day to get work accomplished.

Sunday would be a great day to get a jump on preparing last years taxes! You will be able to accomplish a great deal in terms of planning or deep organization. Think about this day in advance. Make a plan! You will be very glad you did!
