ALLOW WORDS TO COMFORT
Monday, April 27, 2020

The week begins with the Moon in Gemini forming a happy little sextile to Mercury. This encourages verbal and written communications, curiosity, and light-hearted conversations. You will enjoy sharing ideas and testing your intellectual and communication skills.

At 1:28 PM EDT, the Moon enters Cancer and your desire to communicate lessens, as you now seek to understand and be understood. The Moon remains in Cancer for the next few days supporting your deeper emotional connections.

During the next few days allow yourself comfort food, call your mom, daughter, or aunt. Allow yourself to indulge in a bit of nostalgia. Cancer is an introspective water sign bringing your attention to home, safety, and family.

At 3:52 PM EDT Mercury, having been in Aries, now enters Taurus, the earth-based sign of stability and comfort. Mercury is moving along at a rapid rate, only having been in Aries since April 11th. It will remain in Taurus until May 11th. Keep in mind the power of your words to create stability and calm. If you have been meaning to start a meditation or writing practice this is a great time to begin.

***The Gemini Moon is void-of-course from 1:01 PM EDT until she enters Cancer at 1:28 PM EDT. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

VALUE OF VULNERABILITY & SOLITARY WORK
Tuesday, April 28, 2020
As the Moon continues through Cancer today, notice how moody and sensitive people are, yourself included. Do your best to bring comfort and understanding to those you are with.

When the Moon is in this tender water sign, it is a good practice to show up with your heart on your sleeve. Model for others the value of vulnerability. We all need our hearts tended to with compassion and kindness these days. Express kindness to yourself and others today.

At 1:27 PM EDT Mercury forms a challenging square aspect to Saturn. It is important to place your attention on mental effort and solitary intellectual projects. Without a focus for mental effort, you could easily stumble into negative thinking. Misunderstandings and setbacks are likely if you are working with others. Solitary work is encouraged. This is a passing transit and you’ll do fine working with others in another day or so.

CLEAR BOUNDARIES & ALLOW INDULGENCE
Wednesday, April 29, 2020
Today’s Cancer Moon makes a challenging aspect to Pluto at 12:02 PM EDT. This suggests that you may have to manage the more difficult side of Cancer today.

In dealing with the shadow side of Cancer you may feel insecure, sad, and weepy. You may find yourself under the thumb of people who are overbearing and manipulative.

If you find yourself controlling or shaming others, pull back from the situation and look into your deepest emotional needs. What personal values and requirements are not being met? Connect, soothe, and comfort yourself.

Make sure you are setting clear boundaries and not giving so much that you have nothing left for yourself.

You may want to stay home and curl up in bed with chocolate or chips. It will not hurt you to indulge yourself a bit. This sensitivity won’t last. When you will wake tomorrow morning you will notice a sense of relief from sadness.

At 9:06 PM EDT, the Moon enters Leo. Don’t go to bed so early that you miss the shift from sensitivity to playfulness.

***The Cancer Moon is void-of-course from 3:30 PM EDT until she enters Leo at 9:06 PM EDT. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

INNOVATIVE IDEAS – PASSIONATE EXPRESSION
Thursday, April 30, 2020
Self-expression is an important theme today. The Moon is in Leo bringing your attention to how to express yourself. You want to show up with a full expression of creativity and playfulness. You are looking for passion and excitement.

When the Moon is in Leo it is always a good time to spend with children as they have so much to teach us about authentic self-expression.

At 4:39 PM we come to the First Quarter Moon which is a time of action. Look back to the seed that you planted at the Taurus New Moon on April 22nd. Today you must take clear action to ‘water’ that seed. This is a time when your actions turn you toward or away from your highest expression. Choose the actions you take today with eyes wide open.

At 11:40 PM EDT Mercury conjuncts Uranus which will have a powerful impact on tomorrow. This transit stimulates your thinking with excitement and/or anxiety.

You may receive information that you are not expecting that will result in significant changes in the days and weeks ahead. This is a good transit for intellectually innovative ideas, communications, and efforts. You may surprise yourself and others with unusual thinking and exciting communications.

HAPPY BELTANE – MAYDAY
Friday, May 1, 2020

May 1st marks the Celtic festival of Beltane, also called May Day, which is celebrated around the world to observe the beginning of summer.

Whatever we choose to call it this lovely holiday has its roots in astronomy. May 1st places us halfway between the spring equinox and the summer solstice. This is a celebration of Springtime, growth, and fertility.

With the Moon in Leo, this is a perfect day to celebrate. Build a bonfire, open the doors and windows to let in the cool air of Spring. Drive the cattle to pasture! Make a crown of flowers and crown yourself and your loved ones. Of course, you don’t want to forget to dance around a Maypole.

This is one holiday that we should all celebrate particularly this year. Let’s bring back an honoring of nature and the seasons.

How to celebrate May Day

  • Wash your face with the morning dew

  • Make a May Day Basket of flowers and ribbons

  • Go barefoot for the first time this morning

  • Build a bonfire and dance

  • Open all the doors and windows

  • Plant turnips

  • Make love

  • Honor labor workers of the world

Building new rituals and traditions with family and friends. This is a day of celebration. Gather together virtually and in your heart.

***The Leo Moon is void-of-course from 12:05 PM EDT until she enters Virgo in the wee hours of Saturday morning (1:35 AM EDT). This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

PRACTICALITY AND BEING HELPFUL
Saturday, May 2, 2020
By the time you wake this morning, the Moon has left playful Leo behind and is now in Virgo. As she moves through practical Virgo she makes lovely aspects to Uranus, Mercury, and the Sun, supporting a lovely day.

As the Moon transits Virgo you can not resist analyzing the details of your life to make sure you are being helpful to others. Virgo is discerning, practical, and always concerned with being helpful.

With the Moon in Virgo for the remainder of the weekend, ask yourself how you can be of practical service to those less fortunate. Virgo supports us in knowing the difference between what is of value and what is not.

You may also simply want to clean out the closets and get rid of what no longer serves you in your home. Contemplate the company you keep, your dietary and exercise routines.

When the Moon is in Virgo you can begin new patterns of taking care of your environment, your body, and mind.

THE REALITY OF BEING HUMAN
Sunday, May 3, 2020
Today brings us another day with the Virgo Moon supporting practicality and usefulness. This is a simple day to do what needs to be done in service of the practical realities of everyday life.

The patterns of our lives are so different in the midst of this pandemic, but you can still spend the day tidying the house and preparing for the week ahead. Preparing meals several days ahead will loosen up time for other projects in the coming days. Get the laundry done and don’t forget to go for a walk or work out.

As the day progresses into the evening you may find yourself less able to focus on those details. We are building toward Venus square Neptune shortly before midnight.

You may notice a heightened need for affection and may find yourself susceptible to romantic fantasies. You may be disappointed if your partner doesn’t respond to you as you’d like them to. With this transit, you are probably being a bit unrealistic in your desires right now. Take off the rose-colored glasses and face the reality of being human.

Use the sweetness of this transit to show and accept love without demanding that it be without flaws.

***The Virgo Moon is void-of-course from 10:25 PM EDT until she enters Libra in the wee hours of Monday morning (3:10 AM EDT). This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

* In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
