The week starts out relatively slowly as the Moon moves through Taurus and the dark phase of the Moon. This is a time for contemplation, rest, and revitalization.
As we move deeper into the week we reach the New Moon in Gemini on Wednesday. This brings us to a new cycle of communication, curiosity, and connection. Contemplate new directions for your inquisitive and curious mind. Where do you want your mind’s focus? What do you want to think about, learn about, and talk about?
The Gemini New Moon is exact at 2:40 PM EDT. We begin a new cycle of communication and self-expression.
By Sun Sign, the Gemini New Moon brings curiosity and the potential of a new beginning to this area of your life:
Aries: communications/siblings
Taurus: self-esteem/ your personal finances & resources
Gemini: your expression of self/ your personality
Cancer: something deeply internal & hidden
Leo: community/like minded others/ those who support your hopes & dreams
Virgo: your career/reputation
Libra: travel/education /expansion of understanding
Scorpio: inheritance/the resources of others
Sagittarius: relationship/ partners or enemies
Capricorn: health routines/cooperation
Aquarius: creativity/play/ children
Pisces: your home/ your ancestry
Wednesday is the most active day of the week! Along with the Gemini New Moon, Venus leaves Aries to enter the calmer quieter zone of Taurus. Venus is delighted to enter her home sign, where her comfort and pleasure is paramount!
The energy of Sun Square Neptune hangs over a good portion of the week arousing our interest in hidden elements of our lives. We may encounter a deepened connection with our spirituality or a pull toward our most unhealthy addictions. Don’t neglect your meditation, or other spiritual, practice and leave that second glass of wine on the table. Time alone in deep contemplation or meditation is highly recommended this week.
Mercury also changes sign this week. S/he leaves Gemini where s/he has enjoyed his/her time immensely, and enters the sensitive Waters of Cancer. We are bound to notice our communications becoming more emotional as the week progresses.
The weekend brings great potential for open communication between friends, lovers, and partners! All in all, a week to be embraced and enjoyed!
Monday, May 26, 2014:
The week begins in the Dark Phase of the Moon. Monday’s aspects are soft and deep.
Consider those things that need to be released from your life. There is an opportunity this morning to touch very deeply your own spiritual core. Here in the US today is Memorial Day. Those of us who do not have to go to work this morning are deeply grateful. This is not a day that we want to rush off to make efforts in the outside world. I hope you have kept any holiday plans very simple. This would be a great day to spend in the garden, or curled up with a good book. This is a day to pay attention closely, to understand deep acceptance and simple mindfulness.
Tuesday, May 27, 2014:
Tuesday the Moon goes VOC* at 5:10 AM EDT and remains VOC* throughout the entire day! The final aspect is a Sextile to Jupiter. The final aspect that the Moon makes preceding the VOC* is significant as it leaves its imprint on the entire VOC* period. When the VOC* lasts the entire day this is very important.
This is a lovely day; the Moon is in Taurus and there is nothing to do but enjoy it. If you have to head back to work you will notice that not a lot is getting done in the office. We would all be better off if we could have this day off as well!
Regardless of the circumstances you find yourself in, consider making a commitment to yourself to being fully present. This is a day when reverence for every aspect of your life can be contacted deeply.

Wednesday, May 28, 2014:
We wake to the Moon now in Gemini. Gemini loves to be active and this is a busy day indeed!
Mercury (still in Gemini) happily Sextiles Venus, offers us the opportunity to express love and appreciate beauty.
The Gemini New Moon is exact at 2:40 PM EDT. We begin a New Cycle of communication and self-expression.
Take time alone to set your aspirations and expectations for this New Cycle.
The Sun Squares Neptune this evening. There’s the potential of a wide variety of effects with this aspect, which will color a good deal of the week. You may encounter lowered energy, you may feel discouraged, or you may tap into a level of spirituality or compassion that is far more apparent than usual. If you keep a journal look back at the week of February 23, 2014; consider what began at that time. I think this First Quarter Square between the Sun and Neptune is a time to put action to compassion. Consider where in your world were you aware of deep suffering back in February. Take some action, however simple, to alleviate that suffering now.
At 9:45 PM EDT Venus leaves behind her time in Aries and enters Taurus. This is a very joyful occasion for Venus. She has been terribly uncomfortable in the area of Mars’ terrain and is delighted to move into her own home Sign of Taurus. Our sense of beauty and our sensual nature can settle down and connect to the earth into our bodies more fully. This brings deep calm and pleasure.
Thursday, May 29, 2014:
Thursday brings another big shift in energy as Mercury enters Cancer before we awake. Mercury has been moving quickly through Gemini since May 7th. Due to the upcoming retrograde (June 7th – July 1st) Mercury will remain in Cancer until July 31st. With Mercury in Cancer our thoughts are held closer to home; our considerations are connected to family, loved ones, nostalgia and the past. Be sure you get any projects you want to work on over the summer started before June 7th. The Moon remains in Gemini throughout the day going VOC* following a Sextile to Uranus at 5:59 AM EDT. Another day best held without high expectations. Rest, recuperate, express kindness.

Friday, May 30, 2014:
The Moon remains VOC* in Gemini until 10:13 AM EDT when she enters Cancer. The afternoon will prove to be the more productive part of the day. Our communications will be clear and come from the heart. It may come quite naturally to express kindness and concern for others; our thoughts may easily drift to the past, to those who meant much to us in our youth, to those who are no longer with us. Nostalgia and moodiness could easily invade our day. Pay attention to those things that you really want to express. If there is someone you need to express love and care for, do not put it off. Bring clarity and full expression to the love and care you feel for others. It does not need to be sticky with emotion to get the point across. Keep clear the difference between sticky emotional dependency and deep mature love.
Saturday, May 31, 2014:
This Saturday will be best utilized as a day of work! What do you need to get done before settling in for the simple pleasures of Summer? (Winter in the Southern Hemisphere) Have you completed the yard/garden work? Has the motorcycle, boat, or camper been prepared for the season? The Sun Trine Mars bringing us a great deal of positive energy to support effort and work.
The Cancer Moon is highly stressed (once again encountering Uranus, Pluto, and Mars) suggesting the tendency to be moody, cranky, and out of sorts. Simple hard work is your best bet for keeping that moodiness at bay!
Sunday, June 1, 2014:
On Sunday we rest from all the work we did on Saturday! At 2:32AM EDT the Moon Conjunct Jupiter followed by the Moon VOC* until 9:43PM EDT when she enters Leo.
This full day VOC* offers us the opportunity to enjoy a very simple day of rest and revitalization. The Month of June has arrived. Here in Vermont we are into the most beautiful time of year; with that beautiful Spring Green color everywhere! Take today to be truly and fully present with the Season. Spend the day with full awareness of the colors, sounds, and smells that are only present now. VOC* periods are powerful times to deeply practice mindful awareness. Rest in full mindfulness.

* In these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
