I love to see a week begin with the Moon in Aquarius. This gets the week off to a quirky start. After the intensification of the past several weeks is a relief to have the cool detachment of the Aquarius Moon. The broader view is possible; our personal struggles seem of less significant.
Throughout the course of the week the Moon will complete her time in Aquarius, pass through Pisces, entering Aries on Thursday, and coming to end the week with the stability of the Taurus Moon.
The planets are certainly making significant shifts this week. Midway through the week Jupiter concludes his time in the emotional Sign of Cancer and enters the passionate fire of Leo. For the next 12 months we can enjoy this delightful placement of Jupiter. Can we expect heat and drama to expand? Yes, we can!
On June 23 Venus entered Gemini. If we follow Venus as she moves through the signs, we see the pattern of our values shifting and changing from one type of energy to another.
During the time of Venus in Gemini there has been much value placed on communication and activity. This week on Friday as Venus leaves Gemini behind to enter Cancer we have learned enough through our communications to move to a deeper heart connection. If you thought you could keep that love affair on the surface, think again. Your hearts have touched a very deep place. It is the time to follow it.
The upcoming weekend (July 19 & 20) begs for time to dream and time for strenuous physical activity.
Please be careful and keep a patent awareness on your level of anxiety or aggravation between Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. The best way to manage this is to get outdoors, go for a hike, commune with nature. This is important advice. Please take it.
Late Sunday afternoon Saturn, having been retrograde since March 2, 2014, (23° Scorpio) turns direct at 16° Scorpio. This is a powerful shift. You will feel an increased ability and drive to move forward in the area that Saturn is transiting in your chart.
Many of us are facing important changes and very significant transformations in our personal and public lives. There has been much brewing behind the scenes. Saturn is now directing us to take on the challenge that is presented, to accept full responsibility, and to move toward your soul’s purpose, regardless of the opinions of others!
Remember. This is your life and you need to live it for your highest good.
Monday, July 14, 2014:
The week begins with a mixture of excitement and restraint. Just as you are offered the excitement of a new perspective and freedom, your responsibilities step in. It may feel as though just as you see the opening in the door it is slammed closed. You cannot enjoy true freedom without embracing responsibility. Today you can practice this internal balance.
The afternoon brings far more ease of expression. You may find yourself in situations where you are able to interact with others in unique and innovative ways. Keep your eyes open; consider what can be created from these unique connections. At 3:22 PM EDT following a trine between the Moon and Venus, the Aquarius Moon is VOC until entering Pisces at 10:40PM EDT.
Tuesday, July 15, 2014:
Tuesday should be a simple day, a day made for dreaming. As the Pisces Moon connects with Neptune you can choose to create beautiful dreams or deep suffering. What ever you’re doing today, don’t look for perfection, allow yourself to hold a soft focus on all the circumstances of your life.
Whatever clarity you may think you have today may simply be imagination. The Pisces Moon forms powerfully positive aspects with both Mercury and Pluto. This could be a day when you can finally express what needs to be said.
On Tuesday it may be far easier than you would expect to deliver that difficult communication. Your words may be clear and powerful with a hint of softness. That softness will make a bitter pill easier to swallow. As life changes our communications must keep up.
Wednesday, July 16, 2014:
The big news on Wednesday is the movement of Jupiter from Cancer into Leo. Jupiter spends approximately one year in a sign, giving Jupiter a 12 year Cycle. Wherever Jupiter moves we expand with idealism and hope. Jupiter entered Cancer (where s/he is exalted) in June 2013. Perhaps this has been a year of expanding your connection to family, your ability to nurture and care for yourself and others. At 6:30AM EDT Jupiter leaves that world behind, seeking the greater heat and excitement of Leo. You may notice your involvement with your beliefs expanding in a dramatic or expressive manner. Wherever Leo is in your chart will be highlighted in an expansive and positive way over the coming year.
The moon continues to Pisces on Wednesday, suggesting that it is appropriate to work in the realm of dreams. At 8:57PM EDT the moon will be VOC until she enters Aries shortly after midnight.
Thursday, July 17, 2014:
Thursday has the potential to be a very productive day. With the Moon in Aries we are not going to take ‘no’ for an answer; this is a day when not getting your needs met is not an easy option.
The evening brings the Aries Moon, once again, into contact with the Uranus Square Pluto cycle, suggesting the possibility of power struggles and intensely deep internal dynamics. Take it easy this evening.
Anticipate a great deal of energy moving through your body and mind. Find ways to physically release this energy. While the Moon is in Aries, physical release works best as a solitary activity. Aries, being the infant of the zodiac, does not have the ability to play well with others. Keep that in mind as you make an effort to show more generosity and kindness.
Friday, July 18, 2014:
Two days after Jupiter leaves Cancer, Venus enters Cancer (10:05 AM EDT). Our values deepen into nurturing affection and deep emotion. The interplay and shifts of the planetary energies create the texture of our daily lives.
While Venus is in Cancer we will form strong emotional ties; we long to be fed, kept warm, and taken care of. Be aware of the balance between the positive and negative as strong emotional nurturing can all too easily become clingy and sticky.
Friday also brings us to the Third Quarter Moon encouraging us to take action on releasing what began at the New Moon.
This is a great time to focus your attention on releasing your own tendency of selfishness. It is important to find middle-ground; that space between selfishness and selflessness. We must learn to honor the need to do what is right for ourselves while still showing kindness and compassion to others. The Aries Moon always brings this consideration to light.
With Mercury trine Neptune in the early hours of Saturday morning you may be so caught up in your own dream space that you do not see some reality that is right under your nose. Open your eyes.
Saturday, July 19, 2014:
Very early Saturday morning we have two significant planetary occurrences. Mercury trine Neptune suggests that we may be hiding a painful reality behind our rose-colored glasses. With the Sun squaring Mars at the same time we could be startled into an unwanted realization. In April 2013 the cycle between the Sun and Mars began. This is a Cycle of assertiveness, determination, and the ability to get what we push for. In April 2014 the creative energy of that cycle was released into the world. Check your journals. Today we look at what began in April 2013, what culminated in April 2014, and we consider what adjustments need to be made before the end of this cycle. In June 2015 a new cycle will begin between the Sun and Mars; a new way to get our needs met, a new way to show our strength.
Begin this Saturday with exercise; move your physical energy strongly. I think this should be a great day for lovers. You are able to express yourself poetically; the boundaries between yourselves and others dissolve. Your physical energy is strong and the Taurus moon longs to spend the day in sensual delight. If you are alone, be your own lover; show yourself kindness, love, and sensuality.
The Moon is in Taurus throughout the day making lovely aspects. This looks like a fabulous Saturday as long as we’re able to use that Sun square Mars appropriately.
Sunday, July 20, 2014:
The Moon is in Taurus on Sunday, opposing Saturn at 11:20AM EDT. We may feel emotionally a bit hung over after the effort of balancing Saturday’s diverse energies. Time in nature is the best way to use this day. Go for a hike, take the boat out on the lake, the kayak in the river, or get your motorcycle on the road. Get the wind in your hair, open your heart to the warmth of the Sun.
The big news on Sunday comes at 4:35PM EDT when Saturn at 16° Scorpio turns direct. Saturn has been retrograde since March 2, 2014. During this time we have encountered obstacles, slowdowns, and delays in the areas of our major life goals. Saturn refers to the most serious side of our nature; our work and responsibilities. As Saturn turns direct the tide turns; whatever has been holding us back releases its grip. We can finally move forward. Do you know where 16degrees Saturn is in your chart? It is in this area you will most strongly feel the energies open up to forward motion.

* In these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
