Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: September 7, 2015 through September 13, 2015
Contemplation for the week:
The world is far bigger, more complex, and more beautiful than any of us can imagine. Very little is beyond the scope of what is possible. If we aspire to kindness and love, we are on the right path.
Other than the Moon, there are no planets changing sign this week. We have several interesting aspects, my favorite being a beautiful trine between Mars and Uranus on Tuesday.
This suggests a great deal of excitement and powerful energy, all presented with a sense of flow. In positive psychology, FLOW, also known as THE ZONE, is the mental state of operation in which a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Be aware of and allow yourself to be pulled into this flow, this zone, in the early days of the week!
Wednesday, you are well advised to practice mindful speech, kindness, and more compassion than is your usual habit. It is safe to assume that things will be said that cannot be taken back. We have all been there.
If you find yourself regretting something you said, apologize and move on with more awareness. There’s no point beating yourself up about this, everyone has the experience of being pulled into saying what should not be said. Therefore, we can show compassion and forgiveness.
If you pay attention to the VOC* schedule, posted below the blog, you will notice that we currently have very short periods of VOC* Moon. This is due to having several planets in the very late degrees of their sign so the Moon continues to make aspects throughout her course through the signs. Read below if you need more information.
The important thing is to realize is that things feel a bit easier and we have a sense that our lives are more workable day-to-day. When we have long VOC* Moon times, life can feel a bit choppy as we encounter those times that things simply don’t flow easily.

INTENSE EMOTIONAL CONNECTION
Monday, September 7, 2015:
Monday morning, you can expect to wake up with a visceral sense of the dreams you are leaving behind. Your imagination is activated with a flow of gentle and intangible dreaminess. Coming out of sleep may be the last thing you will want to do on Monday morning.
Once you’re moving into the day, your mind becomes more active and accomplishing your endeavors should be relatively easy as long as you are able to move beyond moodiness.
Sensitivity could get in the way and by mid-afternoon, you can anticipate intensity within connection, conversation, or conflict with a family member. This could be a mother, sister, daughter, lover, ex-wife, or very close woman friend.
In any such encounter, maintain mindfulness and compassion. It really is up to you whether this escalates or not. You could hold the experience as if it were a passing cloud. Breathe and practice kind awareness. It will pass.
“Just like children, emotions heal when they are heard and validated.” ~ Jill Bolte Taylor
EXCITEMENT AND ACTIVITY
Tuesday, September 8, 2015:
So much of how this week unfolds depends upon how you dealt with the intensity or conflict that was raised on Monday. If you went to sleep Monday night with intense upheaval still cranking around within, it is apt to carry through and create difficulties throughout the week.
The Moon remains in Cancer until 10:36 PM EDT when she will enter Leo.
At 3:53 PM EDT, Mars (the planet of action) trine Uranus (the planet excitement). Remember, that a trine aspect is a free flow of energy. When Mars and Uranus connect in this way, we can expect unexpected intensification.
Look for excitement or an unusual activity. If you have a lot of Fire and Air your chart, you will likely enjoy this greatly. If you have a great deal of Earth and Water in your chart, there may be stress and anxiety involved. Either way, try to relax into the excitement, enjoy a new way of seeing the world and your experience of it.
If you are interested in following the entire cycle between Mars and Uranus, look back to March 2015 when the cycle between them began. Did you make a sudden decision or start a sudden project at that time? Did you take on a new lover? Did an existing relationship take a new path at that time? Did you begin a new exercise routine or other physical activity?
Whatever began then took a major step forward in mid July. Within this cycle, we now are able to see the benefit of what we have been working toward. Allow the current energies between these planets to move you easily toward the clarity you will reach by the second week of December.
“Nurture your mind with great thoughts, for you will never go any higher than you think.” ~ Benjamin Disraeli
NO PLACE TO HIDE
Wednesday, September 9, 2015:
On Wednesday, the Leo Moon offers playfulness and joy to your emotional life. Mercury squares Pluto at 3:27 PM EDT. Words may be spoken that are not intended, welcome, or understood. Conversations and communications could get deep, intense, and potentially ugly.
Keep your awareness and mindfulness sharp. Reach for deep intense honesty, fully connected to kindness. Take full responsibility for where you find yourself in your life. If you are able to hold this, you should be able to avoid the more negative side of this aspect.
Because Mercury goes retrograde next week, this aspect (Mercury square Pluto) will be repeated on September 24th and again on October 22nd. What intense depths of conversation have you been avoiding? How can you say what needs to be said with kindness and compassion?
On December 25, 2014, we began a new cycle of intensity in communication. Perhaps, you made a commitment to intense honesty within a relationship; or you may have held tightly to a deep secret that you were unable to reveal. The cycle unfolded with a necessary communication in early April. By mid-July, the conversation continued with deeper intensity of honesty or a stronger hold on the lack of honesty.
Now, it is time to move on. Understand that over the coming months you will begin to unravel your own hidden agenda. There is a complication here because not everything has been above board. It is time to get honest and clear, first with you!
Prepare now to move into a renewed understanding of yourself in relationships and communication. Be willing to see what the Universe is showing you. Be kind to all involved, including yourself.
“It is better to be honest and authentic and disappoint some people then to exhaust yourself trying to keep up the façade of perfection.” ~ Crystal Paine
INTERNAL SILENCE & EXTERNAL EXCITEMENT
Thursday, September 10, 2015:
This is the day of the week that I am looking forward to!
Of course, the intensity from Wednesday is still with us. However, if we paid close attention and did the work necessary, now on Thursday we can enjoy a lovely day even as we internally assimilate Wednesday’s issues.
The Moon is in playful expressive Leo making contact with Venus at 14° Leo (conjunct my Sun!). This playful Moon then goes on to open a free flow of enthusiastic expansive excitement into the day (1:20PM EDT Moon trine Uranus).
Barring anything restricting within your personal chart, you will have a great deal of playful, inspired, creative, and optimistic energy at your fingertips.
Yes, we are moving into the dark phase of the Moon and even as you experience this excitement, your heart is being pulled into a quiet more inward space. It is important to balance the excitement while holding the quiet inward space.
As humans, we have not trained ourselves to hold opposites at the same time. The first step in developing this skill is to simply slow down. Holding dichotomies within your heart and mind is possible. Hold out your hands. In one hand, hold space for quiet inward awareness, in the other hold full expressive playfulness with others.
We are so much bigger than we think. Once you learn how easy it is to hold two sides at once, you will wonder why you ever thought it was difficult. On Thursday, this is your powerful practice.
“Don’t wait for extraordinary opportunities. Seize common occasions and make them great.”
~ Orison Swett Marden
RELEASE JUDGMENT
Friday, September 11, 2015:
We have a brief VOC* Leo Moon to begin the day. By 10:00 AM EDT, the Moon has entered Virgo and we can expect the next two days to have few complications. There is energy for accomplishment particularly regarding detailed or routine work. You may feel a strong need or desire to either help or criticize others!
Look at that person you feel critical of and realize, on a very deep level, your shared humanity. Understand that whomever your mind may be judging is simply trying; in the best way they know how, to live a happy life free of pain. It is important to find that space within yourself to connect with others in our shared humanity.
You may think you know how they should do things better or how they should live their life, but you must realize that you have absolutely no idea of their life journey.
Find kindness, compassion, and lack of judgment within your heart. This is where the rubber meets the road. Find that place where your desire to be a better person or your spiritual practice, or whatever it is, bumps into your own internal critic.
Find that soft, kind space at your center that can see the other as simply, like you, trying to get through this, often very difficult, life!
This is a day of detailed routine work and inner deep contemplation.
“Compassion is not a relationship between the healer and the wounded. It is a relationship between equals.” ~ Pema Chodron
ON THE LINE BETWEEN ENDINGS AND BEGINNINGS
Saturday, September 12, 2015:
On Saturday, we come to the deepest part of the dark phase of the Moon. This phase is called the Balsamic Phase. On Sunday, we will reach the New Moon (in Virgo) and we begin, yet another, Lunar Cycle.
This is the quiet time, the time to allow your emotional nature to sleep, take refuge in quiet rest for your soul. Now, is a time to allow intuition and instinct to run the show. This is not a time to follow a path of logic.
You will do best if you use Saturday to rest and trust the process that you are on. This is a shifting time, a time to end one cycle even as you begin a new one. There is something disorienting about this process each month. I picture the awkwardness of sincerely saying goodbye to a friend at the train station at the same time as you are welcoming a new friend. How do you hold these two perspectives? Letting go of the old while welcoming the new?
Throughout our lives, we learn to hold space for many things within our hearts and our minds. This is a day to practice the skill involved. Say goodbye to the old as you open your heart to the new. Keep your eyes open to the people you may encounter who need a bit of assistance in their similar process. Rest.
“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” ~ Marcel Proust
VIRGO NEW MOON ECLIPSE: 20 DEGREES VIRGO
Sunday, September 13, 2015:
At 2:42 AM EDT at 20 degrees Virgo, we reach a partial Solar Eclipse. Being in the sign of Virgo, work and health matters are likely to call for your attention. The eclipse offers a new beginning within your work, details, fitness, health, and routines.
This is a time to cultivate new habits that will increase your health and energy levels. Set up routines that support your body and your own healing process. This is the best time to develop organization and pay more attention to details of self-care.
Eclipses can open our awareness to things that have been hidden; perhaps things you have hidden from yourself. This is a time when you will see some realities you may not want to see. It is urgent that you find the courage to face the reality of your situation. Not looking clearly at your reality at this time will close doors that you want to keep open! Your eyes are open and you are able to see yourself clearly.
Please keep this clarity focused on you; there is plenty of work to do close to home.
You may need to let go of something significant in order to move into the next chapter that is being offered in your life. Surrender to the unknown. You are on a new path. Embrace it.
Where has your thinking become too small? Where are you ready to encounter a new expanded vision of the world and of your life? Allow the vision in.
“When you arise in the morning, think of what a precious privilege it is to be alive – to breathe, to think, to enjoy, to love.” ~ Marcus Aurelius

This week: The VOC* Moon!
VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!
If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!
Tuesday, September 8, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Cancer) following a trine to Saturn at 9:28 PM EDT, until she enters Leo at 10:36 PM EDT.
Friday, September 11, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Leo) following a square to Saturn at 9:03 AM EDT, until she enters Virgo at 9:56 AM EDT.
Sunday, September 13, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Virgo) following a sextile to Saturn at109:08 PM EDT until she enters Libra at 10:41 PM EDT.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
