“For all its complexity, astrology remains fundamentally simple. It offers a time-honored system of symbols that sum up key aspects of human life while providing profound insights and practical guidance.” ~Anne M. Nordhaus-Bike
ARIES FULL MOON – COURAGE AND DETERMINATION
Monday, September 24, 2018:
Monday is a relatively quiet day as the Moon finishes her time in passive, dreamy Pisces and enters assertive Aries at 7:04 PM EDT. The Moon is said to be VOC*between the time she makes her final major aspect in one sign until she enters the next sign.
On Monday, the Moon makes her final major aspect (a trine to Jupiter) while in Pisces at 1:26 AM EDT and enters Aries at 7:04 PM EDT. This means she is in rest mode for the entire day. Void, of course, does not mean ‘Of course, it is void’, it means that it is ‘Void of its course’.
During these times, which happen every few days and last from a few minutes to over 24 hours, it is good to rest and contemplate. Let projects or plans that you hope will bring future results time to ripen, do not take action.
At 10:53 PM EDT, the Moon reaches full illumination at the Full Aries Moon. The Full Moon represents a time of optimal light and full brilliance. This is a time to see clearly what you have developed in the past two weeks since the Virgo New Moon on September 9th. What symbolic seed did you plant at the New Moon? What do you see has grown over that time? Look to the house in your chart that holds Aries, what can your shift in this area of life to bring the best result forward? Celebrate what you know to be true and engage your courage and determination!
The Pisces Moon is VOC* from 1:26 AM EDT until she enters Aries at 7:04 PM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
THE REALITY OF THE WORLD WE LIVE IN
Tuesday, September 25, 2018:
With the Moon in Aries on Tuesday, you are inclined to courageous action on personal needs and are able to stand up for yourself. Be aware that you could come across as overly aggressive and inadvertently trigger others to act against you.
Assertiveness can feel to others like aggression. That does not mean to back down, only to be aware of how others experience your actions. Aries needs to take risks, after all, we don’t develop courage sitting on the couch. You may be inclined toward individual acts of courage and daring.
At 7:50 PM EDT, the Libra Sun forms a stressful square aspect to restrictive Saturn suggesting limitations on your core source of light and warmth. Do you feel that something or someone is holding you back, pushing against you in a way that restrains your full self-expression?
What can you learn from this sense of denial and restriction? The key is to look with levelheaded maturity at the reality of the situation. Something needs to be released, a solid structure in our culture is being challenged. Racism – Patriarchy – Misogyny. We really can not talk about astrology without facing the reality of the world we live in.
The current cycle of the Sun and Saturn began in December 2017. Something that began at that time was clearly illuminated in late June and now the process begins to be released as we prepare for a new cycle that will begin in the first few days of 2019.
FAN THE FLAMES OF COURAGE
Wednesday, September 26, 2018:
Wednesday brings another day with the Moon making no major aspects to any planets, shortly after a challenging square to Pluto at 6:29 AM EDT. We begin the day in deeply profound anger, courage, or both.
The Moon remains in forceful, combative Aries all day. Whatever occurs on Wednesday, it will have little or no outward impact but it may result in you becoming braver and more willing to stand up for yourself. That is important and may be enough. Do you feel a deep level of fierce determination and independent leadership growing within you? No action is warranted now but fan those flames and encourage that growth.
The Aries Moon is VOC* from 6:29 AM EDT until she enters Taurus at 3:16 AM EDT on Thursday morning. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
HOPE FOR THE BEST
Thursday, September 27, 2018:
When you wake up on Thursday, the Moon has entered Taurus. I wish I could tell you that the emotional environment of the day would be one of stability and comfort, however, the Moon immediately engages with defiant Uranus.
Uranus can bring anxiety or excitement, this is the energy of the Awakener or the Revolutionary. The energy of Uranus is quite different from what we may expect from the sensible Taurus Moon.
In the evening at 7:34 PM EDT, the Libra Sun forms an easy trine aspect to Mars and offering physical energy and the power of will. With Mars in humanitarian, innovative Aquarius, forming this easy flow to the diplomatic Libra Sun you can anticipate intense, yet productive conversations. This is a day of high-intensity and brings with it the potential of important steps being taken in a forward direction. We hope for the best.
The Aries Moon is VOC* until she enters Taurus at 3:16 AM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
SOOTHE YOUR SENSES
Friday, September 28, 2018:
With the Moon in sensual, slow-moving Taurus throughout the day on Friday, allow your life to slow down, and be quiet and still. Connect fully and directly with your five senses: taste, sight, touch, smell, and sound.
Indulge each of those senses; cook and enjoy good food, get out in nature with your eyes wide open, smell the earth and the food cooking, have or give a massage or other physical pleasures, or listen to music that soothes you. Your senses need to be engaged as they seek to stabilize your heart.
There is no need to push yourself in the service of any accomplishment on Friday. Simply get outdoors in nature, rake the leaves, and walk barefoot on the earth. Listen to the trees sing and pay attention to the messages the earth is constantly offering. Enjoy making love, going for a walk in nature, or cuddling with your partner rather than going out on a Friday evening. Soothe your soul.
The Taurus Moon is VOC* from 6:37 PM EDT until she enters Gemini at 9:26 AM EDT on Saturday morning. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
FUN WITH FRIENDS
Saturday, September 29, 2018:
Go ahead and stay in bed Saturday morning enjoying comfort and warmth until the Moon enters chatty Gemini at 9:26 AM EDT. The rest of the day is made for conversations and activity. As the Moon moves through Gemini, she encourages curiosity, the gathering of information, and active conversations.
This is a day to spend with folks you enjoy, people you can engage with, in light, friendly banter. Tell stories and listen to the stories that others tell, not the difficult stories we all have but the ones that are upbeat and bright. The Gemini Moon encourages buoyant, laid-back, friendly engagement.
On Saturday evening, a lovely Grand Trine is formed between the Moon, Mars, and the Sun; these are all in intellectual Air signs, elevating the conversation. Get together with friends in an environment where you can engage in lively conversations. Have fun, don’t take yourself too seriously.
The Taurus Moon is VOC* until she enters Gemini at 9:26 AM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
BRINGING DARKNESS INTO LIGHT
Sunday, September 30, 2018:
I have heard that the powers that be are considering reclassifying Pluto as a planet once again. With tiny powerful Pluto turning direct after being retrograde for five months, listen for more on that story in the coming weeks.
When Pluto is retrograde, deep internal transformations bubble beneath the surface, deep truths shift and tumble, even as they remain hidden. Pluto now turns direct, bringing a new ability and willingness to look directly into the deeper, hidden parts of ourselves. Whatever has been developing underground is now ready to be seen. It is time to bring forth what has been deeply private, internal work and now do the outer work that will solidify the changes into reality.
Over the coming days and weeks, you will be asked to be deeply and powerfully honest, to bring the darkness into the light. The Moon continues through Gemini allowing you to stay with the light banter and pleasures of the weekend even as these deep issues shift under the surface.
The Gemini Moon is VOC* from 11:37 AM EDT until she enters Cancer at 2:01 PM EDT on Monday afternoon. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
