A Sigh of Relief as Normal Returns

Bread and Puppet – September 2022

It is a balm to my soul to have finally been delivered from the jaws of Covid. What a relief to be getting back to normal. I am finally back on track in most areas of my life.

If you are ready for a consultation, let me know! I have worked very little in the past few weeks and am ready to start scheduling appointments and making Recorded Readings again! I’m excited to get back to work.

If you haven’t worked with me in some time, set up an appointment now before our minds turn to the holidays which will be sneaking up upon us before we know it!

Bread and Puppet came to Belfast this week and I managed to see their performance under the Full Moon over the harbor. Bread and Puppet were a powerful influence in my early years growing up in Rural Vermont.

This was the first stop on their Apocalypse Defiance Circus Cross Country Tour! Check Their Schedule to see if they will be near you in the coming months! Check Bread and Puppet’s Website Here!

This week my brother comes to visit from Virginia. I hope that we will have a healthier and more successful visit than the Covid visit with my sister a few weeks ago!

Onward with my recovery!

Summer 2022

Following Saturday’s Pisces Full Moon, the Moon joined first joined with Neptune. This may have deepened your attachment to a dream that supports understanding and compassion for others. On Sunday the Moon entered Aries, setting the dream aside as she took up arms for a battle of wills. There she joined Jupiter expanding her determination to take fast action for her expansive ideas and beliefs.

Today the Moon continues through Aries but makes no direct major aspects to other planets. This may result in feelings of frustration as you want to take action and yet the door you expect to open remains closed and action has to wait.

Remember that Mercury is slowing backtracking in retrograde motion. Perhaps staying still and steady is your best course of action. Hold still, don’t push things when you are not supported by ‘right timing’.

Chalk Walk Art, 2022

Depending on what time you begin your day the Moon will still be in assertive Aries (until 7:40 AM ET) or she will have moved into Taurus after that.

Expect a decided shift with the Moon in Taurus for the next few days. Taurus is a very physical sign that is as immovable as the earth itself. Taurus asks that we slow down and very deliberately set all hurry aside. One foot in front of the other, one step at a time.

When the Moon is in Taurus I always consider the tale of the tortoise and the hare. We all know who wins that race. We again have a day without major aspects to the Moon and without other major aspects as well.

Taurus is the fixed Earth sign, stable and grounded. As the Moon moves through this sign we find that comfort, pleasures, and sensual concerns are high on our list of priorities.

Make an appointment for a massage, cook a beautiful meal, and work in the garden. Enjoy pleasures of the body and seek calm and quiet in all that you do.

Bread and Puppet – September 2022

When the Moon is in the fixed earth sign of Taurus, folks likely have more patience than usual and are more interested in comfort and pleasure. When we think of Taurus, the image of the Bull comes to mind. But, Taurus is not the raging bull that we see in images of bullfights. Taurus is the Bull who knows it does not have to rage but can rest in its considerable yet simple power.

Complications may develop as we move toward the evening. The Taurus Moon actively engages with the difficult square between Uranus and Saturn. This is not easy. Taurus wants nothing more than beauty, calm, and stability. However, the outer world may throw complications, anxieties, and even power dynamics your way.

Do your best to maintain harmonious low-key serenity. The stresses that impact the evening very likely have very little to do with you. Let them roll off your shoulders and see what tomorrow will bring.

Bread and Puppet by the Harbor – September 2022

Today begins with the Moon still in Taurus, the sign that understands the concepts of reverence, loyalty, and devotion. Taurus is a fixed earth sign that is ruled by Venus. Think about beauty, earth, and stability. When you feel these things in your body, you can understand what supports devotion and reverence.

When the Moon is in Taurus we are likely to have more patience than usual. We are also more interested in comfort and pleasure. Ferdinand the Bull is a great symbol for Taurus. Taurus knows its power and strength and has no need to engage it when not necessary. Taurus is far more interested in sitting under the tree smelling the spring flowers.

At 4:16 PM ET the Moon enters the mutable air sign of Gemini. At this time your attention turns toward your intellect and how you are using your voice. You may be surprised that you suddenly feel a great need to get out and socialize. Your mind becomes busy and you want to explore and share ideas and conversations with others. You want to cover a variety of topics with a rather light hand. The Gemini Moon is light-hearted and not interested in deep, profound, or difficult topics.

Bread & Puppet – September 2022

The Moon is in Gemini all day suggesting a pull toward social gatherings. Interesting and stimulating conversations are helpful in calming tension or irritability.

At 2:48 PM ET, Venus forms a challenging square aspect to Mars. Venus’s transits are brief influences, lasting approximately one or two days. This may heat up your emotions. Your interactions with others may be quite intense. You know what you want and are willing to go into battle if your desires clash with others. This transit brings a day of great passion. Small annoyances and small crushes may become equally overblown. Watch the tendency to overreact. You may find yourself defending yourself against an enemy that isn’t even there. Pay attention.

At 6:20 PM ET, the Sun forms an opposition to Neptune. The Sun’s transits are brief influences, lasting approximately a day or two. This transit can easily leave you feeling vulnerable and misunderstood. You may have a hard time understanding even your own motivations. The best way to work with this transit is to spend time in contemplation, daydreaming, or walking in nature. Give yourself space to be on your own, read poetry, listen to music, and take a nap. You will be back to your normal self within a day or so.

My good friend Alora painted a portrait of Kairos. The likeness is stunning! Thank you Alora.

With the Sun currently in Virgo and the Moon in Gemini, we come to the Last Quarter Moon phase at 5:52 PM ET. This means that the Sun and Moon are in a stressful square aspect to each other. A square aspect is inherently difficult but because Virgo and Gemini are mutable signs this one is not too difficult to navigate. Because mutable signs are more flexible and adaptable, they are able to make space for differences. Because both Virgo and Gemini are ruled by Mercury they work with the same basic material of the mind, thoughts, and communication.

To more deeply understand these signs think about the difference between Mercury ruling an air sign and Mercury ruling an earth sign. In Gemini (Air) Mercury skims along the surface gathering all the information it can find. There is great delight in the act of gathering and collecting knowledge and information. In Virgo (Earth) the pleasures of Mercury are very different. Here we look at what we can do with the information that has been gathered. We want to categorize and analyze it. We want to make it useful.

At this Last Quarter phase, we are at the midpoint between the last week’s Full Moon and next week’s New Moon. The cycle is closing down. The tension asks that you release something you no longer need as you prepare for the new cycle to come at the Libra New Moon on September 25th.

September 2022

The week comes to an end with a busy day. The Moon is now in Cancer, the sign ruled by the Moon. This points our emotions directly to their most tender roots. This is a good day to spend with family, domestic issues, and the very core of love and sensitivity. Stay close to home, at least for the bulk of the day.

Moving toward evening we have two significant transits building. At 6:33 PM ET Mercury (retrograde) opposes Jupiter. This brings into focus the second part of a conversation that began when Mercury was direct on September 2. The story will wrap up on October 12th when the opposition occurs when Mercury is direct once again. Mercury transits to planets in the natal chart are brief influences, lasting approximately a day. This will relate to a conversation that needs more attention than you may want to give it. Keep to what you know, You may need to slow down and reevaluate what has been said. Stay away from self-righteousness, arrogance, and exaggeration. Open your mind to a different perspective, and let this conversation/ contemplation open your mind to something new.

At 11:57 PM ET the Sun forms a flowing trine aspect to Pluto. This will be a powerful influence as we begin next week. Transits of the Sun are brief but significant influences that last approximately a day. Something powerful that has been hidden from view may be revealed today or tomorrow. Perhaps it has been right in front of you all along but now comes into focus. This is a statement of great empowerment. You are ready to move forward rather than hold back.

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. The aspects under consideration are conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. The planets I work with are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
