Happy to return home after a wonderful time in Vermont

“Follow me”  Borderlands

Last week I traveled back to Vermont for the weekend. I have not yet found a local car mechanic and I had left my winter tires with a friend. So, I brought my car to my old mechanic to get it ready for the upcoming winter. I enjoyed time with friends, a roaring fire, and interesting conversations.

I am grateful for folks who are willing to engage in conversations that stretch them. We all need to move beyond our current understanding of difficult topics. As a culture, we have lost the ability to listen and think without becoming defensive and angry when others disagree.

I love rousing discourse and grappling with difficult topics. It is not easy to find folks who will do so. It was a beautiful weekend for the drive and my biggest complaint was that I didn’t have clothes that matched the extremely warm weather. Somehow I expected cold!

I also spend a night with my daughter and her family and saw my granddaughter perform in an amazing outdoor performance. Of course, I was impressed and proud of her. I can’t imagine memorizing so many lines and delivering them so clearly and with so much heart.

Spending time with my daughter and her family warmed my soul.

Totoro! I love my neighborhood.

The week gets underway with the serious Capricorn Moon holding our attention. Due to rulership, the Capricorn Moon answers to Saturn, currently tangled in an argument with Uranus. As we come within spitting distance of the midterm elections we can not avoid awareness of social discord. This discord impacts us all whether we are politically involved or not.

Perhaps you can use the thin veil between worlds to open an internal psychic door to understanding. If you are grappling with decisions on whether to vote or who to vote for, ask your powerful unconscious or your long-gone ancestors for guidance. Perhaps there is a view beyond the assumptions we hold from our human earth-based perspective.

At 11:43 AM ET the Moon moves to the other Saturn-ruled sign (traditional rulership), Aquarius. As the day wears on, question your responsibility to other humans and the culture at large. Stop listening to the opinions of others and explore your own unique perspective and understanding. When the Moon is in Aquarius you can step beyond what others think is right for you.

Spend time alone or with people who expand your mind, vision, and perspective. Be ready to think and talk about complex humanitarian issues. Consider how to contribute to the vision of a better world for all sentient life on our small planet. Your intellect is divorced from emotion at this time. You are able to look objectively beyond yourself.

At 2:36 AM ET, the Aquarius Moon reaches the First Quarter Square phase of this Lunar Cycle. The cycle began at the Scorpio Solar Eclipse New Moon on October 25th. What is being activated today is related to your thoughts and actions at that New Moon. The first Quarter Phase always asks something of us. Consider the steps required to reach the goal you were thinking about at the New Moon. What you do today will move you toward or away from that goal. There are likely to be a variety of possibilities presented. It is unlikely that the easy option will bring you where you want to go. The action required will take courage and conscious intent.

Because the Moon is in Aquarius, it is a serious path that you must follow. Following it will require objectivity and intellectual awareness. When the Moon is in Aquarius we have the gift of distance from our emotions. We won’t get swallowed up in moodiness or allow the emotions of others to control our actions. We have enough distance from our emotions to see what is important.

As the Moon joins with Saturn at 7:22 PM ET you may feel a bit lonely, self-critical, or cranky. Spending a bit of time alone or going for a walk will help this to pass before bedtime.

The Moon continues through the cool friendly sign of Aquarius for the bulk of the day. Spend time with people who expand your mind, vision, and perspective. Intellectual connections will flourish.

With the Moon in this Fixed Air sign, your emotions are filtered through your intellect. Your mood is likely to be informed by ideas and exciting flashes of thoughts and ideas. Open your mind beyond the filters that usually contain your thinking.

At 2:47 PM ET the Moon enters Pisces returning us to the realm of deep emotion. When the Moon is in this mutable water sign we encounter levels of deep emotional sensitivity. This may feel delightful or overwhelming. You may be floating on gentle waves or struggling to keep your head above water. Do your best to drift and dream!

The Moon continues to grow slightly bigger each day although it is still days away from the next Full Moon which will be in Cancer early next week. The Moon is passing through Pisces today. In thinking about any sign, carefully consider both the element and modality of that sign. In the case of Pisces, the Element is water. This gives Pisces its sensitivity. Water signs are emotional, tender, receptive, responsive, and susceptible. The modality is mutable. This gives Pisces its elusive quality and its ability to shift, change and flow. This is a sign of adaptable changing emotions.

The world and the culture we live in have little respect for these inner qualities. The more in tune we are with these watery flowing energies the more out of step we may feel with the world around us. Don’t try to fit in today, allow yourself to indulge in deep tenderness, compassion, and inner flow. If you can take a nap, spend time daydreaming, meditating, listening to music, or reading poetry you will be doing yourself a great service. Your soul will rest a bit easier. You will be more in tune with the Universal flow.

The Moon continues through Pisces keeping us in an interesting dreamy state throughout the day. This would be a wonderful day to take off from work to simply enjoy unstructured time in nature, creating art, listening to music, or daydreaming. When the Moon briefly squares Mars at 11:02 AM ET, you will have a boost of energy. Take advantage of this to tap into motivation to get something done.

When the Moon joins Jupiter at 6:04 PM ET, open yourself to optimism, generosity, and simple good feelings. This is a very fleeting transit but will allow you to deeply enjoy the early evening supper hour!

At 7:07 PM ET the Moon enters Aries giving you a glimpse of the challenges, gifts, and potential frustrations of the next few days. If you are paying attention you will notice a sudden shift. Compassion and sensitivity step aside leaving you wanting to challenge yourself to get something done. The next few days will give you that opportunity.

Saturday, November 5, 2022

We are three days before the midterm elections here in the United States. We see the tension building in the planetary pattern above. The Moon is in dynamic Aries bringing determination, hot frustration, and the desire to take things into our own hands.

The Moon passes through this dynamic action-oriented sign each month. The less common issue is the opposition from Venus to Uranus which perfects at 6:21 PM ET. The energy this provides will be with us for a day or two. Look for surprising, unexpected, exciting, or anxiety-producing encounters and circumstances. At this time we seek avenues of personal freedom and sudden irrevocable change.

On a personal level, you may be tempted to throw caution to the wind in relationships or finances. Don’t be too hasty as this transit will pass and you will be left to pick up the pieces. Get creative and do something unusual and fun that will not damage existing relationships, break the bank, or cause difficulties in your community

Wednesday of next week, the day after the elections, the Sun will form this same transit. We can indeed expect upsets, upheaval, and unexpected results.

Sunday, November 6, 2022

We end the week with the Moon in the dynamic Cardinal Fire sign of Aries. When the Moon is in Aries we need a personal challenge that will hold our attention without input from others. Aries is a very personal sign that doesn’t necessarily play well with others. Aries is focused on developing personal courage through facing stress and anxiety. Have you noticed that your friends with strong Aries components have more stress in their lives than most?

With the Moon in Aries, your emotions are stirred up and you are bursting to do something with all your energy. Individual courageous action is called for. This is best used by the body. Go for a challenging bike ride, hike, or another solitary endeavor. If the action you take today results in your falling on your face, oh well. It is better to fall on your face than to hold back out of fear or too much caution.

At 6:30 PM ET, the Moon forms a difficult square aspect to Pluto. If you have not found a use for the heat of Aries Moon this could result in ruthless or destructive behaviors either from or toward you. If you encounter power struggles with others do your best to turn this into an opportunity for healing and transformation. Go deep with love and respect.

Kairos – a very deep sleep

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. The aspects under consideration are conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. The planets I work with are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
