The powerful background transits are intense and ongoing.

As I write the daily posts I assume you are aware of the ongoing struggle even when it is below the surface. These difficulties (an understatement) reflect the slower moving transits occurring in the background.

I am going to continue to hold a light to the specific aspects of each individual day. On days that seem bright and shiny, we know that there are powerful forces challenging us from depths unknown. We must look at what is working as well, to hold the light in focus as much as possible.

Enjoy each day as you are able, commit to bringing joy and pleasure to those you love and when the rough days are in high focus, determine to love even more.

Drumroll Please! Mercury turns retrograde at 11 degrees Scorpio on Tuesday, October 13th at 9:05 PM Eastern time. There is much unnecessary fear and misinformation around Mercury retrograde. But, it is very simple to learn to work with these times.

During Mercury retrograde:
  • slow down to manage stress
  • make a list of unfinished plans and projects
  • work on that list only for the next 3 weeks
  • wait until after November 3 to buy any electronics or big-ticket items
  • wait until after November 3 to sign any contracts
  • give yourself and other folks extra time to show up
  • double-check all communications

Yes, it is true that Mercury stations direct on the US election day. We will have a deeper conversation about that another day, for now, suffice it to say that the last time Mercury stationed on election day was in 2000. If you do not remember that year’s election, look it up.

Please keep in mind that transits to your natal planets can override these more universal ones. A personal consultation offers deep understanding.

OPPORTUNITIES ABOUND – Monday, October 12, 2020

Look for opportunities and pleasantries today. The moon is in Leo which brings generosity and open-heartedness to the fore.

The day begins with Jupiter sextile Neptune. This transit suggests possibilities of expanding compassion, creativity, and mystical understanding. Because this is a waning sextile it suggests the need to release something in order for the potential to be realized.

At 12:38 PM EDT Mercury forms a sextile to Venus. Words of kindness, love, and support flow easily between yourself and others. Sextile aspects (60 degrees) represent possibilities and excitement. Don’t miss today’s opportunity to speak words of and share messages of kindness and love.

Don’t worry about seeming ‘over the top’, with the Moon in Leo your words may be highly expressive and somewhat dramatic. Go ahead and indulge in big expressions of love. We all need words of encouragement, generosity, and kindness. Don’t miss the opportunity. Don’t hold back.

***The Leo Moon is void-of-course from 10:30 AM EDT until she enters Virgo shortly after midnight. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

MERCURY RETROGRADE, PAY ATTENTION – Tuesday, October 13, 2020

The Moon in Virgo suggests that we have the ability to focus on detailed projects and practical endeavors today.

However, at 7:25 PM EDT the Sun opposes Mars pulling your attention away from those practical matters. The Sun is highlighting how we, individually and collectively, use direct assertive power. The Sun also squares Pluto and Saturn this week. I expect we may see an overdose of toxic masculinity on full display. With Mars retrograde, we are all reevaluating masculine qualities. Open yourself to the qualities of courage, assertiveness, leadership, and direct passion. Commit to releasing any passive acceptance of brutality, cruelty, coercion, and sexual violence. Regardless of your sex, you have both masculine and feminine energies within.

At 9:05 PM EDT Mercury turns retrograde at 11 degrees Scorpio. There is much unnecessary fear and misinformation around Mercury retrograde. It is really very simple to learn to work with these times. Simply slow down and focus on what has been left undone since the end of the last Mercury retrograde cycle on July 12th. Make a list of everything that you have begun but not finished since that time. If you focus exclusively on that list and don’t start any new plans or projects and you will do fine.

Oh, yes, also avoid purchasing electronics, other big-ticket items, and signing contracts. Give yourself extra time to get where you are going and make sure your words and communications are properly understood. Make sure you understand what others are saying as well.

Don’t move forward with new projects or let down your guard around clear communications until after Mercury has turned direct on November 3rd.

Yes, it is true! Mercury stations direct on election day. That is a conversation for another day, for now, suffice it to say that the last time Mercury stationed on election day was in 2000. Do you remember that one?

If you stick with the plan you will be amazed at how much you can accomplish during this 3 week period.

IT’LL BE OKAY, IT’LL BE OKAY – Wednesday, October 14, 2020

Over the coming days, we must slow down as we grow accustomed to Mercury, newly retrograde in Scorpio. If you insist on moving too fast you will trip yourself up and regret those fast actions.

Listen carefully to what you hear. Be thoughtful and discerning with your words and make sure others understand what you are saying. Be patient, never condescending, in your explanations.

Today’s Virgo Moon is engaged in soothing conversations with the heavy outer planets. ‘It’ll be okay. It’ll be okay.’ You may find yourself repeating this throughout the day to yourself and others.

Spend the day perfecting the last details on tasks that have been long left undone. You can better discern the improvements necessary to wrap up a project or undertaking.

***The Virgo Moon is void-of-course from 6:47 PM EDT until she enters Libra in the wee hours of tomorrow morning. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

LOVE IN ACTION – Thursday, October 15, 2020

Several days ago as the Sun opposed Mars we got a clear view of how anger and divisiveness impact each of us individually, and all of us collectively. Today the Sun squares Pluto at 6:14 AM, on Sunday the Sun will square Saturn, the final of the powerful trio in Capricorn. These connected aspects have an unsettling effect on everyone impacted by these difficult times. The cycle that is playing out here began in January 2020 and now begins to release. Consider what opinion, idea, or theory about the state of the world that began early in the year are now ready to let go of?

When the Sun opposes Pluto there can be conflicts or other intense experiences as folks jockey for position and control. Rather than defending an indefensible position, it may be time for radical change.

Today’s Libra Moon encourages us to think diplomatically and do what we can to settle and cool the temperature in the room, in the country, the world. It is time to stop the blame game and learn to understand how others see the world differently. Ask questions, be curious, be kind.

We are all human, we are all here to learn deeper and more profound levels of love. We must each commit to being a model of Love in action.

A CHALLENGED NEW MOON – Friday, October 16, 2020

Today’s Libra New Moon suggests the need to plant a seed of understanding. Commit cooperative connections and kindness. We must learn that none of us live in a vacuum. From the highest creature to the lowest, we are interdependent.

Today is the time to plant a seed for that understanding to grow. The New Moon is having tough conversations with that trio of planets in Capricorn so don’t expect it to be easy. This is work that we must do for the good of all.

If you have never done a New Moon ritual before, do it this month. We must stand together to become diplomatic warriors and models of love in action. Your way of life depends on it.

LIBRA NEW MOON RITUAL

Write down how you would like to improve your ability to understand and cooperate with others. Plant a seed of cooperation, diplomacy, interdependence, and objectivity in Love.

You may prefer to simply plant a seed to grow a romantic partnership, or to bring beauty into your life, or to develop a more harmonious heart. You get the idea. Plant the seed that resonates with your heart.

Have two candles available. Light the first to represent your current state in this regard. Light the second candle as inspiration for the change you want to create. Take the time and give it the attention to make this a sacred ritual.

Each day light these candles and bring them closer to each other each day. As they come closer, imagine drawing the change you desire closer.

At the Full Moon bring the candles fully together while acknowledging what you have created. The energy you infuse this cycle will continue over the next 6 months until the Libra Full Moon on March 28, 2021.

***The Libra Moon is void-of-course from 6:12 PM EDT until she enters Scorpio in the wee hours of tomorrow morning. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

SOMETHING COMES TO LIGHT – Saturday, October 17, 2020

By the time the day begins the Moon is in Scorpio bringing your attention to what is hidden below the surface. This has not been an easy week but then again I don’t remember when we last had a week that we could consider easy! We have work to do to move into 2021 in a better place.

When the Moon passes through Scorpio, we are inclined to explore hidden aspects of ourselves, others, and circumstances. Scorpio is a Fixed Water sign; fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, Aquarius) are stable, have a concentration of focus, and can be quite stubborn. Water Signs (Cancer, Scorpio, Pisces) are sensitive, private, and emotional. Scorpio takes us to emotional depths and focuses powerful attention on unearthing what has been buried.

While the Moon is in Scorpio, you may be aware of things that are generally kept out of sight, things that polite society would rather we kept under a rug. However, Scorpio understands the importance of exposure for healing to occur. Pay attention to what comes to light today.

PATIENCE, DETERMINATION, & CONTEMPLATION – Sunday, October 18, 2020

At 9:57 AM EDT, the Sun squares Saturn, the last aspect in the series that has contributed to this challenging week. As we reach the end of the week you are likely exhausted. You may feel under extreme pressure with no relief in sight. You are stronger than you think. Dig deep to find the patience and determination you need. Your responsibilities feel overwhelming as you build determination and courage beyond your wildest dreams. Don’t stop now, don’t give up, and don’t procrastinate. Rewards are reserved for those who show up, support others, and do the necessary work.

At 10:48 AM EDT Venus opposes Neptune leaving you feeling confused and uncertain about what is real and what is not. Keep an eye on reality and manage feelings of disappointment. To manage the difficulties, work on creative projects, dance to music that you can lose yourself in, pray, or meditate. This is a strange and probably uncomfortable day. Climb into bed early with a good book or a good movie. Tomorrow we begin again.

Let me say, I am looking forward to a year when not every month, and every week is rife with so many challenges as 2020! My heart goes out to each one of you who are personally struggling with the powerful forces this 2020. Contact me for a recorded consultation. If you need a discount, ask.

***The Scorpio Moon is void-of-course from 5:43 PM EDT until she enters Sagittarius shortly after midnight. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

* In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.

The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
