Hello my dear readers,
I’d like you to start this week with a quote by Pema Chodron.  It is a long one. Take the time to slowly read and contemplate it. Hold its wisdom in your heart as you move through the coming week.
Sending love and light,
Laurie

“We start with ourselves. We make ourselves right or we make ourselves wrong, every day, every week, every month and year of our lives. We feel that we have to be right so that we can feel good. We don’t want to be wrong because then we’ll feel bad. But we could be more compassionate toward all these parts of ourselves. When we feel right, we can look at that. Feeling right can feel good; we can be completely sure of how right we are and have a lot of people agreeing with us about how right we are. But suppose someone does not agree with us? Then what happens? Do we find ourselves getting angry and aggressive? If we look into the very moment of anger or aggression, we might see that this is what wars are made of. This is what race riots are made of: feeling that we have to be right, being thrown off and righteously indignant when someone disagrees with us. On the other hand, when we find ourselves feeling wrong, convinced that we’re wrong, getting solid about being wrong, we could also look at that. The whole right and wrong business closes us down and makes our world smaller. Wanting situations and relationships to be solid, permanent, and graspable obscures the pith of the matter, which is that things are fundamentally groundless.
Instead of making others right or wrong, or bottling up right and wrong in ourselves, there’s a middle way, a very powerful middle way. We could see it as sitting on the razor’s edge, not falling off to the right or the left. This middle way involves not hanging on to our version so tightly. It involves keeping our hearts and minds open long enough to entertain the idea that when we make things wrong, we do it out of a desire to obtain some kind of ground or security. Equally, when we make things right, we are still trying to obtain some kind of ground or security. Could our minds and our hearts be big enough just to hang out in that space where we’re not entirely certain about who’s right and who’s wrong? Could we have no agenda when we walk into a room with another person, not know what to say, not make that person wrong or right? Could we see, hear, feel other people as they really are? It is powerful to practice this way, because we’ll find ourselves continually rushing around to try to feel secure again — to make ourselves or them either right or wrong. But true communication can happen only in that open space.“ ~ Pema Chodron

CHALLENGE YOUR ASSUMPTIONS
Monday, October 10, 2016:
By the time you wake up Monday morning, the Moon will be in humanitarian Aquarius.  Be prepared to accept and engage with a free flow of creative, unusual ideas as you consider your future and the future of our culture on Monday. Keep your mind open and look clearly from a new and unexpected perspective.
Encourage open dialogue in the expression and sharing of new ideas for future development. If you are drawn to a new course of study or a new way of perceiving your world, follow your curiosity. If you encounter people with very different ideas, welcome them as a way of more deeply developing and engaging your own thoughts and ability to articulate your ideas and beliefs. Challenge your thinking and your assumptions.
Consider a social activity in the evening for the sheer enjoyment of encountering new thoughts, opinions, and original perspectives. Follow your curiosity into new dimensions of intellect. Enjoy the play of conversation and where it may take you.
The Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 12:51 PM EDT on Sunday until she enters unusual Aquarius at 2:33 AM EDT Monday morning.  Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

PATH OF FORGIVENESS
Tuesday, October 11, 2016:
Tuesday is an astrologically active day, beginning with mental Mercury (in diplomatic Libra) conjunct expansive Jupiter at 5:45 AM EDT. Pay attention to what thoughts you awake with and any dreams that linger.
This is a day to think about and express your most optimistic big ideas.
Trust your ability to bring these ideas to fruition, in order to do so you must dauntingly engage your mind and your conversations. The Universe will support your manifestation of ideas and plans that are engaged with in speech and concrete plans. Go ahead; speak aloud your BIG IDEAS, BIG PLANS, and BIG DREAMS.
Pay attention to how these ideas are closely connected to the release of a dream or an unrealistic idea that began in January 2015. This is related to Mars sextile Neptune at 1:03 PM EDT. You have the opportunity now to clearly understand how that release will foster a more realistic dream that will come in to focus in January 2017. The best form for this release to take is through the path of forgiveness. Contemplating and forgiving your own mistakes and unintentional wrongs will enable you to understand and forgive those who have wronged you.  The true development of forgiveness is more important to your life path than you may imagine.
With the Aquarius Moon sextile Uranus at 7:49 PM EDT, it should be a great evening to enjoy exciting banter with friends.
The revolutionary Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:49 PM EDT until she enters poetic Pisces at 8:42 AM EDT Wednesday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

MEETING THE DIVINE
Wednesday, October 12, 2016:
Wednesday is a day best used for spiritual development or daydreaming. Pisces is a mutable water sign, arguably the most sensitive sign in the zodiac. The Moon in Pisces provides us with an emotionally sensitive day where we are highly attuned to intuition and the emotional states of others. The challenge of any day with strong Pisces energy is in dealing with real world responsibilities and realities.
If you must go to work and play an adult role, do the best you can while paying more attention than usual to intuition. If you don’t have to deal with the real world on Wednesday, enjoy a sense of deep sensitivity, idealistic compassion, and mystical transcendence. Engage in spiritual practice, artistic practice, or any other practice that helps you to meet with the divine.
In all interactions with others, make profound compassionate connection. You can do that with a simple kind word and conscious eye contact. Practice it. This is where you meet the divine in others.
The quirky Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:49 PM EDT Tuesday until she enters sensitive Pisces at 8:42 AM EDT on Wednesday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

KEEP EMPATHY CLOSE AT HAND
Thursday, October 13, 2016:
At 6:19 AM EDT, the Pisces Moon square Saturn may have you feeling out of sorts when you awake Thursday morning. In most things on Thursday, it will be good to follow your personal intuition and take your own counsel. However, don’t listen to the little voice that tells you to call out sick from your job. That voice is illusion, not intuition and will be long gone by the time the Moon sextiles Pluto at 10:20 AM EDT. Pluto offers empowerment to intuition and assures us that whatever our intuitive heart chooses to explore at this time will shine a light on a powerful core within us to be developed over the coming weeks.
At 4:59 PM EDT as Mercury squares Mars, keep your eyes open. Please do not start arguments or allow yourself to be pulled into them. Find a way to engage your mind in developing healthy ways to assert your opinions without making it about who is right and who is wrong. Listen to others, respect that they do not see or experience the world in the same way that you do. Take the high road.
Another healthy way to work with this transit is to argue for the underdog, stand up for a cause that is dear to your heart. Keeping empathy close at hand will help you to not get too tied to results that are not within your current control.

SPEAK UP
Friday, October 14, 2016:
Friday begins with a continuation of the sensitivity that has been with us for a few days. Allow a passive dreamy state to remain for the early morning hours.
At 11:08 AM EDT, the Moon enters Aries returning you to self-confidence; you are ready to face the world head-on. Indeed, you may notice less patience but you will welcome a renewed sense of independence and self-determination.
With Mercury sextile Saturn at 2:46 PM EDT, you are ready to articulate thoughts of future plans. Communication and intentions are expressed and heard easily. If you have been struggling with the need to express a desire to let go of a plan or project, this would be a good time to say what needs to be said.
With the Aries Moon opposite Jupiter at 11:33 PM EDT, you may head to bed feeling satisfied, optimistic, and possibly infused with wisdom. Sleep well!
The sensitive Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:13 AM EDT until she enters assertive Aries at 11:08 AM EDT.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

DIGNITY AND COURAGE
Saturday, October 15, 2016:
Saturday will offer us each the possibility of a powerful and challenging day. The Moon in Aries offers independence and courage to face whatever the day brings.
At 6:43 AM EDT, the Sun opposes revolutionary Uranus.  Sudden events, unusual occurrences, and unexpected surprises may leave you agitated, unsettled, or potentially excited. Remaining detached from results and outcomes will be the best way for you to maintain balance and equanimity.  Remember, this could potentially be excitement that changes your world. Excellent news can leave us just as unsettled as bad news. Make no assumptions!
“The bad news is you’re falling through the air, nothing to hang onto, no parachute. The good news is there’s no ground.” ~ Chogyam Trungpa Rimpoche
At 10:29 PM EDT as Mercury comes to square Pluto, we may do well to sit in meditation before bed. It is easy to get caught up with obsessive or destructive thinking patterns when we are so unsettled. Use this aspect of deep powerful mental activity to gain powerful insights to your deepest inner landscapes.
Shortly after midnight (Sunday morning), the Aries Full Moon conjunct Uranus shows us the power of revolutionary change; do consider that with the Sun in Libra it is important to understand that compromises must be made.  Compromise with dignity and courage in all things.

ARIES FULL MOON – COMPROMISE WITH COURAGE
Sunday, October 16, 2016:
Just as the day begins (just past midnight of Saturday – but Sunday nevertheless) we reach the Aries Full Moon at 12:23 AM EDT.
What seed of love did you plant on the Libra New Moon of September 30th? Now at the Full Moon observe how that seed has grown. Can you see with clarity what you have developed?
The Libra New Moon was about the expansion and growth of love, partnership, and resources. Since then, I suspect you have gotten more realistic about where you stand in the development of this romantic vision. On the one side, stands the Aries Moon, so strong in independence and forcefulness; so clear about getting, and even demanding what you want. On the other side stands the Libra Sun insisting that you get clear and understand the level of compromise you need to make to get close enough to your desires.  You do not get to have it all your way Aries; you must include the balanced diplomacy of Libra. Together, you can have it all.
At 11:04 AM EDT, the Moon leaves combative Aries behind and relaxes into the deliberate steadfast consistency of Taurus. Allow the rest of the day to hold a steady dependable calm. This is what you need.
Get a massage on Sunday evening or just spend it quietly at home in comfort with family and loved ones. Relax, find calm.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, textiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
