The Changing Moon this Week

(see the full daily posts below)

The Moon sets the emotional tone as she moves through the Zodiac day-to-day. It takes approximately 28 days to traverse the entire Zodiac. Learning to work with this rhythm will help you align with and relax into an easier flow with the Universe. The luminous Moon spends approximately 2 ½ days in each sign before she moves on to the next.
Monday: Today’s Aries Moon gives us a strong push into the start of the week. However, while you were still sleeping the Moon formed a square aspect to Venus (Capricorn). This slows the energy down a bit as you grapple with the need to accomplish something serious.
Tuesday: The Moon, still in courageous Aries comes into a square w Pluto at 10:51 AM EST. You may feel frustration or simply the need to take action. Find a physical outlet. Lift weights, go for a run, or do some other solitary physical activity that will help the day to begin without a fuss. If those around you are aggravated, just step aside. At 9:18 PM EST, the Moon enters Taurus just in time for a steady deep sleep.
Wednesday: The Moon spends today in stable, beauty-loving Taurus. As she forms a challenging square aspect to Saturn at 1:20 PM EST you may feel out of sorts and unkempt. As you head toward sleep, don’t let the aspects she makes to Uranus and Mars push you into any kind of conflict. Consider including something unexpected or unusual into a mid-week fully engaged intimate encounter. Plan ahead.
Thursday: Today’s Taurus Moon moves forward without serious challenge or difficulty. Focus on creating beauty and opulence in your environment. Create art or fill your house with flowers and beauty.
Friday: The Taurus Full Moon Lunar Eclipse occurs at 3:58 AM EST. Contemplate the full expression of your deepest values. Where can you express what you hold as beautiful and of great value in your life? More information about the Full Moon and how it impacts you (by Rising or Sun Sign) will drop into your email box on Monday morning. Make sure you are on Astrolore’s email list. The Moon enters talkative, curious Gemini at 8:33 AM EST offering the rest of the day to make easygoing connections with others.
Saturday: The Gemini Moon continues with us throughout the day. In the wee hours of the morning, she forms a flowing trine aspect to Saturn. This suggests a day when serious conversations can help to stabilize relationships.
Sunday: Another day with the Moon in Gemini, keeping our interest zipping from one topic to another. Join with friends today for light-hearted conversations. The Moon forms a trine aspect to Jupiter at 10:52 AM EST, expanding your mind and your curiosity. At 10:33 PM EST, the Moon enters Cancer helping you settle into sleep and look toward yet another week.

The week begins with the Moon in forceful assertive Aries. If there is something that requires fast determined action Aries Moon will certainly help get the job done. Aries moves forward with determination, almost always choosing action over inaction. Aries also tends toward solitude as it has a hard time making space for others. If you are not able to be solitary in your days’ efforts, keep this in mind and practice patience.
At 2:58 PM EST, the Scorpio Sun forms a challenging square aspect to Jupiter in Aquarius. Both Scorpio and Aquarius are fixed signs and are not particularly happy to have to find a compromise. A square aspect demands that we find a way to move forward even though we each want to go in a very different direction. Scorpio heads into deep psychological terrain while Aquarius supports objectivity and humanitarian efforts. You see the two very different perspectives.
You may find that you want to say yes to everything today, to bite off more than you can chew. Approach everything with an eye to boundaries and not overdoing, overcommitting, or overspending. Do not over-extend your abilities or your resources today. Balance is the key to all things today. Watch any tendencies toward self-righteousness or arrogance.

Today begins with the Moon still in courageous solitary Aries. At 10:51 AM EST, she forms a difficult square aspect to Pluto. Do your best to avoid any situations that may lead to resentment or anger. If you can’t avoid people or situations that trigger you, practice patience. Also, prepare yourself to leave the room at a moment’s notice if you feel yourself heating up.
A physical outlet this morning (steady, not fast) will help you to avoid conflicts or mishaps. Get out for a jog, lift weights, travel a long distance on your stationary bike. Whatever you need to do to move stuck energy without recklessness can prevent problems.
At 4:01 PM EST, the Sun forms a sextile aspect to Pluto. This is an aspect that I think of as bringing with it a sense of deep satisfaction. In positive aspects, Pluto empowers what it touches. You may find that you have an inordinate amount of willpower and resolve at your disposal. Your determination is strong and you have the ability to be very persuasive with others. Your thoughts turn to the power within deeply provocative topics as you turn toward the mysteries of our existence
The Moon enters Taurus at 9:18 PM EST. This settles us down after the heat of the Aries Moon. The next few days will bring our focus in the direction of beauty and love as we move toward the Taurus Full Moon on Friday.

_The Aries Moon is void-of-course from 10:51 AM EST until she enters Taurus at 9:18 PM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact._

Today brings us the Moon in sensual slow-moving Taurus. However, today’s Taurus Moon is not engaged in her usual simple stability. She has difficult conversations with Saturn, Uranus, and Mars throughout the day and evening. Find ways to calm and stabilize your nervous system as the outside world may well feel overwhelming and repressive. You may need to keep your contact with the outside world minimal in order to stay in the calm zone. A massage will help as well as spending time engaging with the natural world. It may be cold outdoors but go barefoot on the earth anyway. Listen to the birds and the trees sing.
At 12:22 PM EST, Mars opposes Uranus. This aspect will remain in effect for several days and you can expect surprises and other unexpected conditions. You long for more individual freedom than ever and will have no patience if anyone tries to restrict or deny your autonomy. The need for self-determination and independence is very strong and you don’t want to blend in with the crowd. The uniqueness of your personality may be on display and is important to you. You may feel a great deal of nervous energy that can be difficult to manage. Physical exercise, time alone, and wildly creative endeavors can help.
If you or those around you seem contrary, anxious, inflexible, or impatient, be quick to forgive and move forward. Be more cautious than usual when operating machinery, electricity, or motor vehicles.

Consider how much your loved one would appreciate and benefit from a consultation or recorded reading from Astrolore.

“I found our session incredibly helpful. It was exactly the guidance that I needed and it corresponded with much of other personal work that I’ve been doing. Your recorded reading gave me exactly the kind of information that I was hoping for. I’m very grateful for your time and I look forward to having more sessions with you in the future”.  – K.P. Another full day with the Moon in Taurus as we move very very close to the Full Moon that happens in the very early hours of tomorrow morning. You will see that beautiful Moon in the sky tonight. Taurus is the Fixed Earth sign, steady, stable, grounded and fully focused on reality. Taurus energies support us to build and maintain the practical structures that support our lives. When the Moon is in Taurus we are asked to slow down, quiet down, and spend time in stillness.

Today we add a little twist to the practical reality of Taurus. At 10:37 AM EST, Mercury forms a flowing trine aspect to Neptune. This brings with it a lovely sensitivity and encourages us to sidestep reality to enter a flow of dreaminess and imagination. Your thoughts and conversations are receptive, fanciful, and rather intangible. This is a great day to listen to music, take photographs, watch old movies, or write poetry. Go with the flow in whatever you do. Let your thoughts and conversation take you on flights of fancy, engage your mind and your voice without an agenda. If you feel unmotivated at work, excuse yourself and go home. Access your intuition, daydream.

From my third-floor bedroom window, I have a clear view of the Moon each night. I watch closely as it waxes and wanes. As the Full Moon approaches each month I can feel it shining its gifts on me. If you are not able to see the Full Moon from inside the house, get outdoors! I believe we reap the benefits when we welcome her light directly into our eyeballs.
Today’s Taurus Moon is well past her fullest point by the time we begin the day. The Full Moon is exact at 3:58 AM EST. Make no mistake, she was with you when you went to sleep last night and continues to offer her gifts for several days. Remember that this Full Moon brings us the reflection of profound Scorpio heat and energy being reflected by the lovely Taurus Moon. Contemplate how intensity and depth are reflected in your values, your understanding, and your creation of beauty.
This Full Moon brings us to the culmination point of the monthly lunar cycle that began at the Scorpio New Moon on November 4th. It also brings us to the full illumination of the larger cycle that began at the Taurus New Moon on May 11th. Think about what began and the results you see now of actions that began at those times. The Taurus Full Moon brings love, relationship, beauty, and personal resources into focus. You will need to use deep intensity to help bring beauty into focus.
Another energy that is highly activated today is Venus in a trine aspect to Uranus. This is a positive and fun aspect suggesting unexpected surprises that engage you emotionally. You may meet or interact with folks outside your regular friend circle that you find you resonate with, in a big way. You will want to move your mind to understand new ways of doing things. Expect high energy and excellent opportunities. This will remain activated for several days, enjoy it.
At 9:33 AM EST, the Moon enters Gemini where it will remain for several days. This will add to all of the fun and curiosity regarding all that the day may bring to pass!

With the Moon now in curious quick-paced Gemini, gathering information settles your emotions and keeps you feeling connected to others. Make it a point to share and listen to stories, perspectives, and ideas. If you feel restless find folks and engage in easy repartee. This is a great day for connecting with friends, talking about a variety of topics, and having fun interactions with new and old friends alike. With the Moon in Gemini, your encounters are easy, friendly, even seemingly superficial.
This is not the time to engage in powerful or deeply significant conversations. Your mind is simply moving too quickly. Mental stimulation is pleasurable and automatic as you quickly juggle ideas, thoughts, stories, and witty repartee.
At 6:42 PM EST Mercury (the ruler of our Gemini Moon) forms a challenging square aspect to Jupiter. The difficulties with this planetary combination come in an overdose of information. Understanding the limits of your minds’ ability to process what you take in is important. Restlessness, scattered attention, and too damn much information can derail you. Your nervous system could get too ratcheted up. The challenge is to be selective, to separate the worthwhile information from what is unnecessary. Practice slowing down your mind. You don’t have to know everything.

The Moon continues her path through talkative curious Gemini, encouraging friendly social interactions. As the day begins Mercury forms a sextile aspect to Pluto. This aspect offers you an opportunity to use your voice in deep and powerful ways. Perhaps you have tough conversations that need to be had, or you are writing something that requires deep concentration. Given that Mercury is currently in Scorpio, don’t be afraid to engage the depth of your mind and your voice.
At 9:33 PM EST, the Sun leaves the depth of Scorpio behind as we move into the Mutable Fire sign of Sagittarius. Sagittarius asks us to open our vision. To look around from the highest point we can reach.
I like to think of the Centaur (half-horse/ half-human), pulling back their bow and releasing the arrow into the air. Imagine the perspective you would have from the very highest vantage point if you could ride that arrow into the air.
That is the perspective Sagittarius seeks. Over the coming month, you will find yourself expanding your understanding and viewpoint. If you know what house in your chart holds Sagittarius (using the whole sign house system) you know where to look for this expansion.
At 10:33 PM EST, the Moon enters Cancer bringing a sensitive start to next week.

_The Gemini Moon is void-of-course from 10:52 AM EST until she enters Cancer at 10:33 PM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact._

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

When you come out of the storm, you won’t be the same person who walked in.”  – Haruki Murakami, ‘Kafka On The Shore’.
