This is the first full week with the Sun in Sagittarius, the Sign of optimistic expansion and growing wisdom. Can you feel the difference from the deep intensity of the past month while the Sun was traveling through Scorpio? Do you feel drawn to an increased sense of independence and freedom? As we begin the preparation for the holidays we seek that sense of joy and idealism.
Keep in mind that behind these daily shifts and changes, the most powerful cycle of Uranus and Pluto continue to transform the very fabric of our individual lives, our families, the culture we live in, and the species that we are a part of.
In mid-December we will be reaching the sixth of seven Square Aspects between Uranus and Pluto (ongoing since the Summer of 2012). Over the coming weeks we can expect to experience the building anxiety, stress, excitement, and demand for change. Have we grown accustomed to this deep intensity?

Monday, November 24, 2014:
The week begins on a quiet note; as you awake on Monday morning, move slowly; go to that early morning yoga class or research that trip you have been dreaming about. Don’t make concrete plans just yet. Rest and dream your way into the day. The busyness of the holiday season is moving quickly upon us.
Move slowly now while you can.
The morning begins with the Moon VOC* in Sagittarius before entering Capricorn at 11:32 AM EST. Once the Moon is in Capricorn the week comes seriously into focus. Now it is time to set the rest aside and get to work! No frantic busyness; a simple engaged focus toward accomplishment. If you are preparing for a Holiday meal on Thursday this would be a great day to get the shopping done and any preparations you can accomplish ahead of time.
As long as your focus begins following the Moon’s entry into Capricorn a lot can be accomplished on Monday.
Tuesday, November 25, 2014:
Your best bet on Tuesday is to get to work early, keep your nose to the grindstone, and pay attention to the serious direction your mind is calling from. Mercury conjunct Saturn (26° Scorpio) at 9:36 PM EST demands we take our thoughts, communications, and the way of our minds very seriously.
Maintain a vigilant awareness in your interpersonal communications. Tuesdays’ Capricorn Moon impacts the heavy tension building between Uranus and Pluto. This is a day for study, writing, and developing deep clarity of mind. Difficult communications with others could be deeply empowering if both people involved have the maturity to work with full mindful awareness. If there’s any question about the maturity and ability to maintain awareness, you may want to sidestep difficult conversations on Tuesday.
The Sun entered Sagittarius last week and Mercury will follow in the coming days. By the end of December Saturn will also leave Scorpio behind, entering Sagittarius and offering us a breath of fresh air, expansion, and new awareness. The past few years with Saturn in Scorpio we have learned transformative lessons through exploring some very dark corners of our hearts and minds. When Saturn passes through Sagittarius (12/2014 – 12/2017) we will learn a great deal through open expansion, acceptance of others, higher learning, and possibly even travel. We will learn much as we encounter, accept, and come to love people and cultures much different than our own.
Wednesday, November 26, 2014:
Wednesday may be a very exciting day with a touch of dreaminess toward evening. The day begins with the Moon in Capricorn forming a Sextile to Mercury at 10:30 AM EST. The Moon then goes VOC* until she enters Aquarius at 2:22 PM EST.
*Have you taken advantage of the Astro-Start package yet?
If not, this is a good time to do so!
Now, take out your chart and find the houses that hold 12 degrees of Sagittarius and 12° of Aries. This is the area of your life where you can expect to receive flashes of insight and excitement.
A Trine is formed between Venus at 12° Sagittarius and Uranus at 12° Aries. Look for surprising unexpected and exciting connections with others or possibly exciting surprises regarding resources or money. Expect the unexpected; something wonderful coming to fruition. A Trine aspect between two planets is a free flow of energy; Venus speaks of our highest values, Uranus speaks to the need for freedom and excitement. What excitement could you bring into your life and into the lives of your loved ones today? Make it your mission on Wednesday to bring excitement to your life and to the lives of others.
Thursday, November 27, 2014:
What are your family gatherings like on Thanksgiving Day? Do you have a traditional Thanksgiving celebration with your family of origin? Do you celebrate this holiday with chosen family rather than the family of origin? The energy of the day supports something less traditional then what we see in Norman Rockwell’s painting.
On Thursday the Moon is in Aquarius forming a Sextile with both Venus and Uranus. If you remember, Venus and Uranus were in a Trine aspect on Wednesday. Today the Aquarius Moon activates the energy between them strongly. Secrets may be revealed, not in a heavy, difficult way, but with excitement and acceptance. We may be finally ready to be seen and to see others clearly.
At 9:25 PM EST Mercury enters Sagittarius. Issues of freedom, self-acceptance, and expansion are highlighted. Again I am reminded of a cartoon I saw many years ago. The centaur (Half human, half horse) stands at a crossroads. The sign pointing in one direction says: ”enlightenment”; the sign pointed in the other direction says: ” Gary’s Party”. Please understand that Sagittarius seeks a higher view, a higher understanding of life. We seek and find expansion, not only through paths of spiritual enlightenment, but also in our interactions at “Gary’s Party”. Seeing the world from an expanded perspective is the work of Sagittarius. Open to that energy even in the midst of your Thanksgiving Celebration.
Friday, November 28, 2014:
Friday begins with the Moon in Aquarius. I recommend that you get as much done as possible in the early hours of the morning. At 12:14 PM EST the Moon squares Saturn followed by the Moon being VOC* until she enters Pisces at 5:03 PM EST.
This brings us into a dreamy evening. We are able to set aside our anxieties from the week and enjoy an evening of pleasurable activities.
If you struggle with issues of addiction, drugs or alcohol, make a plan early in the day of how you will spend the evening. With the moon in Pisces’ making Conjunct Neptune having a plan in place will be helpful. The key is that the plan must feed some the same energy/need that the addiction, drugs, or alcohol feed. When we engage in the activity of our addictions we are seeking an escape from the mundane world. Consider ways that you can move away from the harsh realities of life in a manner that is healthier than your addictions. Music is one way to dissolve reality and move out from under the yoke of our disappointments and unhappy circumstances. Poetry is another way, meditation, mysticism, and dreams do the same. A great film can show us another world. Find places to dissolve the boundaries between yourself and others or between yourself and the greater consciousness.
Enjoy the escape, make it a healthy one; enjoy the softening of boundaries between yourself and others. Take someone who is lost under your wing; show them a way of opening to higher levels of consciousness.
Saturday November 29, 2014:
Saturday the Moon remains in Pisces throughout the day and reaches the First Quarter Square following the New Moon last week. Consider the seed that you planted at the Sagittarius New Moon last Saturday. As the Lunar Cycle began last, you likely considered the areas of your life that you wanted to expand. Think back to the conversation you had with yourself at that time. Look for an action to be taken on Saturday that will move forward with that desire. Please, take that action. Perhaps the seed planted involved the desire to travel; if so put a date into your calendar for that trip! Better yet, purchase the tickets for the trip! Further your conversation with whoever may be traveling with you. If the seed you planted was the desire to expand your mind into a new study; on Saturday you will want to purchase the books necessary for this learning, or sign up for a class that will move you in the direction you’re seeking. It is important today to take action.
This is not a highly social Saturday, Being on the other side of Thanksgiving you may simply want to spend time alone, reading, taking yourself to the movies, or in someway allowing yourself the freedom to rest in silence. Honor that need in yourself and others.
Sunday November 30, 2014:
A good part of Sunday we continue with the emotional state of Moon in Pisces. The Moon makes positive aspects to both Mars and Saturn bringing us a good deal more energy than we had on Saturday.
You will be more able to get chores and activities done that you have not managed earlier in the wee.
At 3:46 PM EST following the Moon Trine Saturn, the Moon is VOC* until she enters Aries at 8:14 PM EST. Just as we are preparing to settle down for the night our emotional nature flares, no matter how sleepy we’ve been all day, we are suddenly wide awake! Here in New England it is clearly winter! Regardless of the cold if you suddenly feel a surge of energy between 8:15 and 8:30 PM EST.
Bundle up! A walk in the crisp cold air will do wonders to help you to sleep on Sunday night. Aries Moon needs a physical outlet. Engaging your sexual energy would be a great way to manage this evening as well.
At 11:26 PM EST Mercury squares Neptune encouraging us to find a way to communicate our shifting dream. Consider what you believed to be true a year ago. Consider how much change has occurred in the direction you perceive yourself to be moving in. Think about the new Dream, have you fully released the old one yet? Adjustments must be made. Even tiny adjustments in our thinking will ultimately profoundly change our lives.
Make those adjustments now.
This week: The VOC* Moon!
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question. Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the moon is VOC*.
Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the moon VOC!
Monday, November 17, 2014 Moon is VOC* (in Sagittarius) following a Trine to Jupiter Sunday night at 10:16 PM EST and ending on Monday at 11:32 AM EST when the Moon enters Capricorn.
Wednesday, November 26, 2014 Moon is VOC* (is Capricorn) following a Sextile to Mercury at 10:30 AM EST and ending at 2:22 PM EST as the Moon enters Aquarius.
Friday, November 28, 2014 Moon is VOC* (in Aquarius) following a Square to Saturn at 12:14 PM EST and ending at 5:03 PM EST when the Moon enters Pisces.
* in these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
