Contemplation for the week:
“Life is glorious, but life is also wretched. It is both. Appreciating the gloriousness inspires us, encourages us, cheers us up, gives us a bigger perspective, energizes us. We feel connected. But if that’s all that’s happening, we get arrogant and start to look down on others, and there is a sense of making ourselves a big deal and being really serious about it, wanting it to be like that forever. The gloriousness becomes tinged by craving and addiction. On the other hand, wretchedness–life’s painful aspect–softens us up considerably. Knowing pain is a very important ingredient of being there for another person. When you are feeling a lot of grief, you can look right into somebody’s eyes because you feel you haven’t got anything to lose–you’re just there. The wretchedness humbles us and softens us, but if we were only wretched, we would all just go down the tubes. We’d be so depressed, discouraged, and hopeless that we wouldn’t have enough energy to eat an apple. Gloriousness and wretchedness need each other. One inspires us, the other softens us. They go together.” ~ Pema Chodron

CREATE VALUE
Monday, November 2, 2015:
Last week, the Sun entered Scorpio and this Monday, our thinking catches up. We all understand the feeling sense of Scorpio. It is an energy that we can’t miss and we all recognize. We often associate it with stories from our childhood; I dare say most of those stories probably occurred in late October or November.
Do you remember the time your friend enticed you into the graveyard after dark? Regardless of the fear, the intensity called you forward. I’m sure you have experienced a wave of fear washing over you, even as intense emotion holds you riveted to the spot. Scorpio is the inability to look away when something too scary or horrifying is before you.
At 2:06 AM EST, Mercury leaves Libra behind to enter Scorpio. This brings our thoughts and communications into this same place of intensity and darkness. We are less interested in making things look good; we are less available for ‘small talk’. We must get to the deepest core of the topic at hand.
The Moon in Leo struggles to keep things playful but may resort to less positive points of dramatic creativity!
Monday evening, Venus and Mars come together in the last of a series of three transits since last February. (Due to Venus’ retrograde during last summer). This aspect often reflects our push toward ‘capital R’ relationships.
There are other ways these two planets join together. Remember, that Mars energizes Venus while Venus softens Mars. Consider not only the masculine and feminine principles but also Venus as your values, money, and resources and Mars as the assertive push toward what is desired.
We begin a new cycle here, be it in the realm of energizing love or assertively creating something of value.

PRACTICE RELEASING
Tuesday, November 3, 2015:
Tuesday begins with the stress of the Sun square Moon. This is the Third Quarter Moon phase, representing the need to let go of something we had hoped would last longer than it has. This probably does not represent an issue of long standing, rather it is something more immediate.
What began at the New Moon three weeks ago, that came into full view last Tuesday? That is the thing to release.
Sometimes, the stress of this square can try to persuade you into thinking that there is something more significant to release. In a few days, you can look more deeply into that, but for now you are asked to release something with a smaller footprint in your life. This is practice for the bigger release that is coming.
Today’s Leo Moon is not in her happy-go-lucky expressive guise. When she comes out to play and finds that the Sun is in Scorpio, her fire is dashed with icy waters.
These are two fixed signs with very clear ideas of how life should be lived. Leo wants to play and be loudly expressive; Scorpio wants to dig deep and discover in silence and privacy. They do not play well together.
Keep this in mind as you go about your day and allow space for both of these energies to live within the day. Be patient with others as we are all dealing with the stress between these two very powerful signs.

EXPAND & STIMULATE YOUR MIND
Wednesday, November 4, 2015:
Wednesday brings us another full day with the Moon VOC*! The VOC* period is the time between when the Moon makes her final aspect in one sign and when she enters the next sign. The general feel for the time will reflect the energy of her final aspect.
Tuesday at 8:47 PM EST, the Moon made her final aspect in Leo, along with a trine to Uranus, so that will be the energy that we hold until the Moon enters Virgo at 9:23 PM EST.
I would expect an intellectually stimulating day but probably not a great day for accomplishment. Stick with routine tasks along with exciting mental explorations.
What routine tasks do you need to get done? Filing paperwork, mindless forms that need to be filled out, cleaning house, or laundry? Combine those types of jobs with filling your mind with information that is stimulating and exciting. Listen to podcasts or an audio book. Perfect solution!
Conversations can enrich and expand your mind but won’t result in anything tangible over time. Remember that when settling on a topic to listen or talk about!

ACCOMPLISHMENT AND CLARITY
Thursday, November 5, 2015:
The Moon in Virgo certainly wants us to get to work on Thursday. That long VOC* period on Wednesday may have delayed progress, fueling our need to get a great deal accomplished on Thursday. Prepare yourself to be surprised by how smoothly work can go, how much you can get done by the end of the day, and how much you can enjoy the process as well.
Shortly before midnight, the Sun makes a sextile aspect to Pluto. This heralds your gaining clarity of the circumstances surrounding a powerful transformation that began last January 2015. Now, you get clear about what needs to be released.
For now, simply investigate your options, be curious about the new cycle of empowering and transforming your core that will being in January 2016, and begin to dream your future.
Take a chance; ask others what it is they are releasing for a new vision of their future? The question will take them by surprise; they will be delighted with the opportunity to share. Share how that conversation plays out, leave a note here.
“You must learn to let go. Release the stress. You were never in control anyway.” ~ Steve Maraboli
SHARE WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED
Friday, November 6, 2015:
In keeping with Thursday’s theme of ‘release to prepare for a new cycle’, on Friday your mind turns to the dream that began in March 2015. The powerful internal transformation that began in January 2015 likely pulled you into a dream that began in March.
Perhaps, you lost clarity. In retrospect, you see that things were simply not as you imagined them to be. Now, you can see clearly what needs to be released and are able to articulate how this process has changed you.
How have your dreams and realities played out in this process? How has your life changed irrevocably? What can you bring from this situation into your life to support your future and be of service to others?
You have learned more than you imagine. Allow yourself to share what you have learned.
”Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
SATURDAY EVENING SEEK BEAUTY AND PLEASURE
Saturday, November 7, 2015:
Saturday begins with the Moon still in Virgo. Following a brief VOC* between 7:48 AM EST and 10:15 AM EST, she enters Libra.
Take advantage of Saturday being the final day with Venus in Virgo to get some organization or detailed work done. By next week, you will have less energy available for those cleaning and organizing projects, as they will simply seem much less important.
Saturday evening will be good for social engagements, dinner parties, and art shows. This is not the evening for a wild party or an evening alone. Seek cultured environments of beauty and pleasure.
“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” ~ Melody Beattie
HOLD OPPOSING POINTS OF AWARENESS
Sunday, November 8, 2015:
A slow start seems a good idea for Sunday. Although, being that this is the best part of the day, utilize it more actively if you have some connection to make that needs a lighter touch.
Venus enters Libra at 10:30 AM EST bringing your attention away from details and perfectionism. While Venus is in Libra, (until December 5th), you are encouraged to be more aware of the significance of your partnerships and the beauty you are able to create in the world and your life.
During this time, consider what you see as valuable and beautiful in your life and your values. Venus loves being in Libra where she feels so at home, creating beauty, love, and partnership. Enjoy her time here in her home sign.
The afternoon and evening may bring a certain amount of stress or discord as the Moon makes challenging aspects to both Pluto and Uranus. There may be some internal discord as you not only feel the deep value of partnership but also need space and autonomy. Both are equally valid; we can be aware and feel both deeply at the same time.
Learning to hold opposing points of awareness at the same time is a valuable skill indeed.
“Wisdom is merely the movement from fighting life to embracing it.”~ Rasheed Ogunlaru

This week: The VOC* Moon!
VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!
If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!
Monday, November 2, 2015, begins with the Moon VOC* (in Cancer) until she enters Leo at 10:48 AM EST.
Tuesday, November 3, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Leo) following a trine to Uranus at 8:47 PM EST until she enters Virgo on Wednesday, November 4, 2015 at 9:23 PM EST.
Saturday, November 7, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Virgo) following a conjunction to Venus at 7:48 AM EDT until she enters Libra at 10:15 AM EST.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
*The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
*The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
