ARIES NEW MOON – TIME TO BEGIN (For some of us!)

Monday, March 27 2017:
The New Moon is not exact until 10:58 PM EDT! Even though today is the day of the New Moon, save your excitement for Tuesday! 😉
Monday, very likely gets off to a slow start, with the feeling that you are dragging your feet. When the Moon enters aggressive Aries at 10:10 AM EDT, you may expect to feel more engaged and ready for activity and yet, with Mars (the ruler of Aries), forming a sextile to Neptune at 12:44 PM EDT, you may continue feeling dreamy and not quite ready to make a commitment to moving forward.
On January 1st, the cycle between Mars and Neptune began. Did you make a commitment to a significant New Year’s resolution that involved a dream that you wanted to create or, perhaps, your desire was to create an expanded spiritual practice? Think back to that time and re-engage your commitment to that dream.
There is no need to push yourself to do anything about it at this time, just go back and re-explore those ideas. There will be time for further action in mid-May.
Here on the East Coast, we are in the dark of the Moon throughout the day, be sure to adjust for your Time Zone.
At 10:58 PM EDT, (if you are on the West Coast, this will occur at 7:53 PM PDT), we come to the New Moon. On Tuesday, your energy will return and you will be ready to begin! Unless you stay up late on Monday, you should start your New Moon ritual on Tuesday. With each New Moon, remember to wait to complete your ritual until after the actual time of the event.
The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:20 AM EDT until she enters Aries at 10:10 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

TAKE ACTION WITH CONSCIOUS INTENT
Tuesday, March 28, 2017:
Because the New Moon occurred late on Monday, you will want to do your New Moon ritual on Tuesday. With each New Moon, remember to wait and perform your ritual after the actual time of the event.
On the East Coast, where I write from, the exact time of the New Moon was Monday at 10:58 PM EDT, on the West Coast it was 7:53 PM PDT; adjust accordingly.
The Sun and the Moon in hotheaded Aries make challenging contact over the next 24 hours with the ongoing stressful configuration of Jupiter (whose job it is to expand whatever it touches), Uranus (whose job it is to revolutionize whatever it touches), and Pluto (whose job it is to empower or destroy whatever it touches).
Watch yourself for overly aggressive attitudes and behaviors. Listen for that edge of aggravation and impatience in your voice. When you heart that tone in others, consciously reject the tendency to take it personally. Each of us is ready to blast forward in some area. With this powerful, fiery energy, it is not easy to take others into consideration.
Take direct and deliberate action only after you have slowed your breathing and connected consciously with the true higher purpose of this action.
For your New Moon ritual, set an intention regarding the ability to assertively begin something new. If you know what house on your birth chart holds 7° Aries, it will help you determine what seed to plant. If you don’t have that information, simply go with your instinct of what area of your life needs additional courage and assertiveness.
Don’t neglect this New Moon ritual. Keep it simple. Take a moment to write down what you wish to begin, create, or increase in this upcoming cycle. Have two candles available for your ritual. Light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are at this moment in time. Light the second candle as an aspiration of what you aspire to create. Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle. As you light the second candle, focus on drawing to you what you are creating, as you bring the two candles closer together. At the Full Moon in two weeks, bring them fully together and see the results of what you have created. Share this ritual with your friends and loved ones.

The Aries New Moon suggests that you plant a seed of determination and dynamic courage. Prepare yourself to grow in bravery and independence

When the Moon enters Taurus at 11:47 AM EDT, you will be able to bring more calm and steadfast patience into the day. At 2:16 PM EDT, Mercury forms an easy trine aspect to enduring Saturn, further settling your mind in focused determination on your path forward.
In early April, Mercury will be turning retrograde. If you have plans, projects, or communications that you are thinking about accomplishing, this is the time to begin the process. If you begin them now, you will be able to accomplish a great deal during the Mercury retrograde (April 9th – May 3rd). Think about ideas and plans on the horizon that will require intelligent thoughtful discipline.
Throughout the afternoon and evening, you should be easily able to engage in conversations that will be beneficial to both parties. In the midst of these crazy times, this is a good opportunity to think and act on stabilizing your relationships.
The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:07 AM EDT until she enters Taurus at 11:47 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

TRUST THE PROCESS
Thursday, March 30, 2017:
Thursday brings us back to a harder edge of the current story. The good news is that the sensitive Moon continues through tried and true Taurus allowing you to stay calm even in the face of serious challenges. The day begins with a bit of dreamy imagination as the Moon sextile soft Neptune at 8:33 AM EDT.
At 11:50 AM EDT, when the Moon conjunct angry Mars, your patience may lose its grip. That quickly moving transit, which generally would simply feel like momentary anger, immediately leads us to Jupiter (which enlarges every issue) forming an argumentative square aspect to power hungry Pluto at 2:18 PM EDT. This is an aspect that will amplify issues regarding control and the expansion of manipulation of power. Watch how this plays out in the government, your family, communities, and within your own mind.
Any fear that this introduces must be faced directly and can be transformed as the Moon forms a trine aspect to Pluto, which will show positive side of empowered transformation.
This is an intense day. Breathe deeply, hold steady, and trust the process.
The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:13 PM EDT until she enters Gemini on Friday at 12:41 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

QUIET THE MIND
Friday, March 31, 2017:
Friday may begin slowly but with the Moon’s entry into Gemini at 12:41 PM EDT, you will find yourself pushing forward with plenty of drive, chatter, and activity.
Your thinking, however, settles into a deeper composure when Mercury, the planet responsible for how we think, talk, and process information, enters the slow moving realm of Taurus.
On April 9th, Mercury will turn retrograde but will remain in Taurus until April 19th, when it will return to Aries to bring you the opportunity to say what you weren’t able or willing to say over the past few weeks.
During the time between April 9th and April 19th, you will get clear on how to express the communication that needs to be delivered in a way that shows your own steady clarity while not ruffling anyone’s feathers. Put those dates on your calendar now. 😉
The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Gemini on Friday at 12:41 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

MAKE FUN PLANS FOR SATURDAY EVENING!
Saturday April 1, 2017:
You will probably wake up on the right side of the bed with plenty of thoughts and ideas of how to spend the day. With the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Gemini, plenty of possibilities abound! Although, this morning you may experience a bit of sluggishness. Allow it to pass without engaging in it and get on with your day.
At 8:01 PM EDT, when the friendly, socially active Gemini Moon forms an encouraging trine aspect to wide ranging and expansive Jupiter, you may find yourself searching for parties or dance clubs for the evening.
This is definitely a social Saturday night. Don’t stay home or anticipate a quiet evening alone. Search out fun, engaging, social activities! Whatever you do, invite your friends!

GROW IN COMPASSION & HEART
Sunday, April 2, 2017:
If you partied too much on Saturday night, you may wake regretting it. With the Gemini Moon opposing Saturn at 10:42 AM EDT, you may be experiencing a bit of self -judgment. You may not have overdone it at all but there is a sense that you should have been more circumspect with your time and your words. Release your grasp and attachment to that self-assessment!
At 2:27 PM EDT, the Moon enters emotional, family oriented Cancer. At this point, you may want to spend time with your closest intimates and loved ones. The afternoon is best spent cooking or otherwise nesting at home.
At 8:25 PM EDT, Venus, on her retrograde path, backs into Pisces once more. How has your contemplation of your deep values and attitudes toward love and money been progressing over the past few weeks? As this ongoing contemplation moves back into mystical Pisces, soften your focus and allow compassion for past actions (your own and others) to grow. Venus will remain in passive, healing Pisces until April 28th, when she will return to determined Aries in forward, action oriented motion. For now, develop compassion and empathy to engage with the softest part of your huge heart.
The Gemini Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 10:42 AM EDT until she enters Cancer at 2:27 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transits between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
