The Major Changes of Spring 2023

Click here to watch Jennie and Laurie’s video about Saturn’s movement into Pisces

In last week’s post, I talked about Saturn’s significant movement into Pisces on March 7th. Jennie and I made a video to help you to use these energies in a most positive manner.  If you did not watch that video please do so! You don’t want to miss the opportunity to work with these changing energies for the best possible outcome. We discuss the implications for each of the 12 signs.

Keeping in mind that the slower a planet moves the more of an impact it makes as it changes from one sign to another. Whereas Saturn takes approximately 3 years to move through a sign, Pluto takes approximately 20 years.

Click here to watch Jennie and Laurie’s video about Pluto’s movement into Aquarius, Yes, we cover each sign

Pluto moves from Capricorn to Aquarius on March 23rd. Listen to the video. In it, Jennie and I discuss how each sign will be impacted by this change.

The movement of these two giants of astrology points to a time when there is much uncertainty and change. You may feel the sand shifting beneath your feet. Areas of your life that have been profoundly challenging will no longer hold that difficulty as your attention is directed to a whole new area. Listen to both these videos and you will have the tool of powerful understanding to help you navigate the days ahead.

Those powerful changes are the backdrop of the more common experiences of our daily lives. They are energies that impact all of us and each of us. We also have the more common energies of the quicker-moving planets and the moon’s cycles that impact us day to day.

Let’s look simply at the week ahead.

ADAPTABILITY – EASE – OPTIMISM

Monday, March 13, 2023

At 3:21 AM ET, the Moon enters Sagittarius lightening the mood considerably. When the Moon is in Sagittarius we look for inspiration, growth, and adventure. We long to learn something new, travel, expand our horizons, and explore new vistas.

We don’t want to be held back or restricted by responsibilities or expectations. This is a day when we all want to play hooky without having to explain our actions or choices.

This mutable fire sign offers adaptability, ease, and optimism. Share your visions and insights with others over the next few days.

THINGS MAY NOT BE AS THEY APPEAR

Tuesday, March 14, 2023

With the Moon in Sagittarius, you long to learn something new, travel, expand your horizons, and explore new vistas. You don’t want to be held back or restricted by responsibilities or expectations.

At 10:09 PM ET, the Sagittarius Moon forms its last quarter phase to the sun. This is a time of release and let something go. Listen for an inner voice letting you know what to release and the new direction that is calling you. When the sun and moon are in a square aspect to each other, they each block the path of the other. This creates tension that must be released. Continuing on the same path results in the same circumstances. Pay attention to your intuition. It will show you the way.

At 7:38 PM ET Mars forms a square aspect to Neptune increasing the voice and insistence of your intuition.  Search for inspiration and exercise your muscle of compassion and understandingYou may find that your energy is quite low today. If you feel weak, discouraged, or confused, that is okay. Keep your expectations of yourself and others lowTake it easy and release lingering doubts and guilt. Allow powerful compassion and a deep connection with imagination, music, and poetry to support you. Follow your imagination toward beauty.

NEPTUNE HAS THE UPPER HAND

Wednesday, March 15, 2023

At 8:06 AM ET, the Moon leaves optimistic Sagittarius behind and enters the cardinal earth sign of Capricorn. Your attention moves toward practical considerations, solitary ambitions, and serious concerns. The prevailing emotional state is one of caution, determination, and hard-won wisdom. Capricorn is a sensible hard-working sign that keeps us focused on mature efforts.

Although you feel the pull of Capricorn, Neptune is highly active this week resisting the efforts that Capricorn desires. Late yesterday, Mars formed a square aspect to Neptune, today the Sun conjuncts Neptune, and tomorrow Mercury conjuncts Neptune. Neptune has the upper hand here.

At 7:38 PM ET, the Sun joins Neptune in Pisces. If you thought your vulnerability was deep enough, hold on. You may feel sleepy or confused as waves of empathy and compassion seem to engulf you.

Although we are taught to think of ourselves as separate from each other, we each feel the suffering of the entire collective. Pay attention and feel that compassion is building within you. The conjunction of the Sun and Neptune begins a year-long cycle of shining a light to the suffering of all sentient beings. Today we are aware of that suffering.  Love and compassion are healing balms that we all need to offer and receive.

HOW MUCH COMPLEXITY CAN ONE DAY HOLD?

Thursday, March 16, 2023

With the Moon in Capricorn today, your feelings are practical, serious, and ambitious. As the Moon passes through this cardinal earth sign the prevailing mood is cautious, determined, and prudent.

At 1:12 PM ET, Mercury and Neptune conjunct in the sign of Pisces. This builds on the conjunction that Mercury made with the sun yesterday. Today we move even deeper into a spiritual or mystical understanding of what we need to say and how we need to say it. We also sink deeper into profound compassion for the suffering of others. Use your voice and put your intuition, imagination, and compassion to work. Writing poetry, making music, and art of all sorts will help to settle your inner pain. Developing compassion isn’t just for others, we must turn that spotlight on ourselves as well. Powerful insights come through dreaming, meditation, and absorbing the deep emotions of others. This conjunction asks that you express and communicate your insights.

At 2:09 PM ET, the Sun forms a square aspect to Mars, This may result in feeling competitive, irritable, or aggressive toward others. Don’t take comments from anyone too personally. Find physical ways to relieve stress, and use caution when handling tools or machinery of any sort.

Several hours before Venus leaves Aries, she forms a challenging square aspect to Pluto at 3:58 PM ET. This troublesome transit may bring difficulties to partnerships of all kinds over the next few days. Make an effort to understand your personal values and make needed changes in how you manage your primary relationships. Look unflinchingly at the darkest challenging dynamics in your friendships and love relationships. Get crystal clear with yourself on what is most important to you regarding the dynamics of your primary relationship.

Remember that boundaries are about what we will do, not what we demand others do. Do not use statements of boundaries to try to get others to change as that is sure to backfire. If your boundaries are clear and solid you will know the changes you need to make at this time. We can never change another person, only ourselves. Life gets much easier when this is finally clear.

Finally, at 6:34 PM ET, Venus leaves Aries behind and enters Taurus. Phew!! This is a relief. Venus is the planet that represents issues of love, connection, romance, money, and resources. Venus is delighted to leave Aries behind and enter her home sign where she will remain until April 11th.

During this time she will assist us in connecting more authentically with our loved ones. We are interested in committed relationships, sensual connections, and all that is luxurious. This is a good time to rebuild relationships that have struggled in recent months. Do this by simplifying the complexities that have created difficulties. Focus on enjoying sensual connections, beauty, and simplicity.

ANOTHER DAY OF COMPLEXITY

Friday, March 17, 2023

In the wee hours of the morning, Mercury formed a challenging square transit to Mars. You may have worked it out in your dreams or you may wake with something bothering you. If you feel cranky toward someone, your task is to express the problem simply and clearly, without anger or malice. It will pass rather easily if you don’t try to deny or hide the issue.

At 6:44 AM ET, the Sun and Mercury join together. This is the midpoint between the last Mercury retrograde and the next one. Your mind is busy and highly activated as the day begins. Don’t be too attached to your opinions. Listen as much as you speak.

At 10:25 AM ET, the Moon leaves Capricorn, entering Aquarius. When the Moon is in this fixed Air sign you will find that you are able to put some distance between yourself and your emotions. You are unlikely to get swallowed up with moodiness and no amount of emotional manipulation by others will control how you feel.

At 6:25 PM ET, Venus forms a lovely sextile transit to Saturn. This suggests an opportunity for supportive ease in your close relationships. Tensions may be released, opening a sense of fulfillment.  For the full gift of a sextile, we must put in some effort. Give the attention of your time to a partner or resources to someone who needs help. In this way, your self-esteem will receive a great boost this evening.

POWER OF WORDS

Saturday, March 18, 2023

When the Moon is in the fixed air sign of Aquarius, your emotions are filtered through the intellect. Your mood is likely to be informed by ideas, exciting or anxiety-filled flashes of thoughts, and unusual concepts. This is a day to spend in humanitarian-based discussions with friends and cohorts.

Spend time with people who expand your mind, vision, and perspective. Be ready to think and talk about large cultural issues. Consider how to contribute to the vision of a better world for all sentient life on planet earth.

At 11:23 PM ET Mercury forms an opportunistic sextile aspect (60°) to Pluto. This suggests a profound and powerful intensity of communication and thought. Sextiles provide opportunities and open possibilities. Given that this is the opening sextile, you are building new patterns of thought. Pay attention to new and exciting ideas or conversations that come your way.

Pay attention to the power of your words, communications, and thinking. Ideas and concepts have the power to move life in entirely new directions. Keep in mind that Mercury’s impact as a transiting planet is brief. You can expect the influence to last for approximately 24 hours.

SPEAK UP AND SPEAK OUT

Sunday, March 19, 2023

By the time you wake this morning, Mercury has left the sensitive voice of Pisces behind as it blasts into Aries. The Sun will follow Mercury into Aries on the Spring Solstice tomorrow. Mercury is a quick-moving planet that represents our thought processes and communication.

With Mercury in Aries, we are ready to speak up and speak out! There will be little doubt about what folks are thinking as they are no longer interested in mincing words or holding their tongue. If there is a conversation that needs to be had, the time for hesitation has passed. If you are working on a mentally consuming project, you will be able to accomplish a great deal in the coming weeks. There won’t be a lot of finesse in what you say or how you say it, but you will get it out there. Mercury remains in Aries until April 3rd.

The day begins with the moon still in the cool intellectual sign of Aquarius. At 11:12 AM ET, she sets that position aside and enters the deeply sensitive sign of Pisces. Here we encounter a deeper-than-usual level of inner vulnerability. You may feel that you are drifting on waves of sensitivity or you may feel overwhelmed as you struggle to keep your head above water. Allow yourself to drift, rest, and dream.

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. The aspects under consideration are conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. The planets I work with are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
