THE WEEK AHEAD:
This week gives us another week with super long VOC* Moons! Tuesday and Friday – All day long! As much as possible, give yourself a break on those days. Don’t expect great accomplishments. Rest and meditate!
Another thing is important for us to be thinking about: Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are all currently moving retrograde (backward from the perspective of Planet Earth). Mars is preparing to turn retrograde this week as well (Tuesday at 5:04 PM EDT).
This is quite a pack of planets moving backward.
On July 10th, Jupiter will move forward once again, and yet, July 26th brings us another Mercury retrograde. On August 7th, Uranus will join the retrograde crew.
HERE IS A LIST OF ALL THE RETROGRADES OF 2018 prepared by my lovely and brilliant student Karen Maxon of Karen Maxon Astrology.
When any planet is retrograde, it’s energy becomes more inward. This summer is certainly a time to review and reflect on many areas of our lives. Look to the past and consider what lessons you have learned and what you need to revisit to learn those lessons more deeply. Your personal path of this inward exploration is dependent on your personal horoscope. There is much to consider for each of us. Perhaps, this is a good time for a consultation to explore these issues and better understand your path forward.
The personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) in their retrograde movement will have the most obvious impact on your personal life.
While Mars is retrograde (June 26 – Aug 27), it is best to take into consideration the ways that you have misused your drive, sexuality, and ambition. Revisit those issues, make apologies if necessary and move forward after the retrograde from a place of new understanding. I believe men, in general, are being required to look inward and face their inward unconscious assumptions of male privilege. This is not easy. Remember unconscious assumptions are unknown and often difficult to see or face.
The overlap of Mercury being retrograde at the same time that Mars is will be a challenge. Pay attention to your communications and plans. Your best bet for July and August is to contemplate, rest, and have easy expectations of your self and others. Give your loved ones a lot of space to work through their own issues without interference.
ONTO THE DAILIES:
A GENTLE RELEASE OF ATTENTION
Monday, June 25, 2018:
When you wake up on Monday morning, the Moon is in idealistic, far-seeking Sagittarius. The only aspect she makes throughout the day is a sextile to Mars at 6:32 PM EDT. This will provide energy for exploring new ideas, cultures, and ways of viewing the world. Spend the evening planning a trip, watching a documentary, or otherwise opening your mind to a worldview outside of your typical experience.
A square aspect is formed between Venus, the planet of beauty & love and Jupiter, the planet of higher understanding. The cycle between Venus and Jupiter is a cycle of the expansion of love, money, and beauty. This cycle began in November of 2017. Consider the seed of expansion that was planted at that time.
Whatever you may have begun in November is now ready to be released in preparation of a new cycle of expansion that will begin in January of 2019. This release is a gentle giving way, a release of attention, a shift of attention.
UNDERSTANDING AGGRESSION
Tuesday, June 26, 2018:
Tuesday offers a quiet day, a day to dream of travel and spiritual awakening. The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* all day following a square aspect to dreamy Neptune at 8:54 AM EDT. If you wonder why it is difficult to nail your mind down to a task consider this: Don’t try to accomplish anything.
Allow yourself to dream, allow yourself to imagine any and all expansive explorations that you desire. Don’t try to accomplish anything or start new projects. This is a day meant for dreamers.
At 5:04 PM EDT, Mars turns retrograde at 9° Aquarius, as he will remain until August 27th. Look to the house that holds Aquarius in your chart as you consider how to use this retrograde. During this time it is important that you examine how you have been using anger, aggression, and sexuality in your life. Make amends for any glaring errors. Consider how you have been impacted by the anger, sexuality, or aggressiveness of others. Re-visit. Release. Learn new ways to direct these energies moving forward.
The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:54 AM EDT until she enters Capricorn on Wednesday at 11:53 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE
Wednesday, June 27, 2018:
Wednesday brings a decidedly heavy atmosphere as the Cancer Sun opposes restrictive Saturn. This is a day to take yourself, others, and your situation seriously. Take responsibility for where you find yourself, look clearly at reality. Don’t try to sugarcoat anything.
With the Moon entering Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) at 11:53 AM EDT and joining with Saturn before days end, this is not a day to pursue trivial issues. This is a day to spend time alone working on your own goals and ambitions. Get serious about the work that you want to accomplish. Put a stake in the ground and determine the direction that will bring you where you need to go. In late December of 2017, the Sun and Saturn came together. Consider what began at that time and you may be able to see adjustments that may need to be made now. What have you created since then and where do you want to take it as you step forward.
This is not a day for socializing.
The Capricorn Full Moon is exact shortly after midnight, tomorrow in Eastern Time. Regardless of the Full Moon being Wednesday or Thursday (depending on time zone), this Full Moon pushes us to see our mistakes clearly and made adjustments. Offer kindness to all whom you encounter, not a frivolous kindness, offer support of a more serious kind.
The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Capricorn at 11:53 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

LIFE IS SERIOUS BUSINESS
Thursday, June 28, 2018:
Depending on your time zone, the Capricorn Full Moon was last night or this morning. Life is serious business and Thursday will find a way to bring your awareness to that fact. This is not a bad thing. Your life has consequences and you have important goals to set and things to accomplish.
There are days you need to dream, days you need to play, and days you need to work. Thursday is not a day for dreaming or playing. Thursday is a day to contemplate the significance of your life and make necessary adjustments to move you in the direction that you need to go. If you are drifting or wasting your gifts, now is the time to get clarity on what needs to happen to change your course. You can make a decision now. One simple step can start a new direction.
The seriousness lightens later in the day as the Capricorn Moon sextiles both Jupiter and Neptune, showing you that no matter how serious and sober things may feel there is hope for the sweet path ahead.
PLAYFUL MIND & A DAY OF REST
Friday, June 29, 2018:
Mercury has been moving along at quite quickly, having entered Cancer only a few weeks ago on June 12th. On Friday, the planet that represents our thinking process enters expressive Leo where all our communications may take on a lively, even dramatic tone.
Mercury will be slowing down soon as it is due for another retrograde station on July 26th at 23° Leo. Due to the retrograde, Mercury will remain in Leo until entering Virgo on September 5th. This gives us a good amount of time to revisit our ability and manner of verbal expression and how we use our minds.
Again, we have a full day with the Moon VOC*. Think of it as being a time when your emotions and needs are a bit adrift, having no focus or direction. The Moon is VOC* between the time it makes its final aspect in one sign until it enters the next sign. Depending on the cycles of the other planets, this can last a few minutes, to times like now, that it can last many hours! Plan a day of rest and relaxation. Don’t expect to accomplish much besides mundane tasks. A great time to catch up on busy work; clean our your email box, do your laundry, visit your friends.
The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:59 AM EDT until she enters Aquarius shortly after midnight. Yes, you read that right… All day! Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.” ~ Og Mandino
INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS
Saturday, June 30, 2018:
By the time you awake on Saturday morning, the Moon has entered Aquarius, lightening your mood by bringing a good sense of objectivity to the table.
Think back to any power dynamics or other challenges that occurred last Saturday. Whatever the issue involved will rear it’s head again this weekend in a different form or from a different perspective.
At 9:01 AM EDT, Mercury (the planet that represents your thought processes and the way information travels between people) squares Uranus. If there were difficult words spoken or internal mental struggles engaged in last weekend, you may be able to find innovative solutions that will now settle the issue. Try to avoid adding fuel to the fire of something left unfinished. Look for the creative, ingenious solution.
HELP OTHERS
Sunday, July 1, 2018:
Sunday is dominated by the Aquarius Moon as there are no major aspects between other planets. With the Moon in Aquarius, you may feel a need to break free from people or situations that feel a bit claustrophobic or otherwise restrictive. This is a day to engage with your most unusual friends or the folks in your social circle who have the least in common with your world-view. You focus is likely to be objective and you are more interested in what is happening collectively than personally. You are able to open your mind to new ways of viewing the world.
Enjoy time with others, engage in intellectual conversations about the state of the world, consider what you can do to help the suffering of others in the world.
The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:56 PM EDT until she enters Pisces early Monday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
“We use astrology most constructively and creatively when we gain from it a sense of what is possible for us at the highest levels of our potentialities. Seeing that, the challenges is then to keep our eyes open to life itself, to be able to respond appropriately when some event or change of circumstances…”
~ Dane Rudhyar, Astrological Aspects – a Process Oriented Approach, 1980.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
