Thank you to those who offered ideas for kitten names. You sent some great ideas! It took some time for me to get clear on what this kitten means to me and what name he should carry through the time of his life.

Astrology, by its very nature, is the study of time. Most people pass through their lives without giving a lot of conscious thought to time.

Time is ordered by the movement of the planetary cycles. The days are measured by the rotation of the earth that brings us the passing of day to night and back to day again. Around we go. The years are measured by the earth’s movement around the Sun. Western astrology is based on the seasons and the Sun brings us from Spring to Summer, Summer to Fall, Fall to Winter, and back again to Spring.

In our culture, most folks think of time as a linear process whereby we move from birth through our lives toward death.

From the perspective of astrological time, we learn to understand that time is cyclical, rather than linear. The seasons of our lives are further measured by the cycles of the planets as their pathway activates points in our natal charts.

Kronos (or Cronos) refers to linear or cronolagical time. It is the time of calendars, appointments, and clocks. It can be measured and seen in the rearview mirror. Kronos’ time moves ever forward out of the past and into the future.

Kairos is a Universal time. It can not be measured or controlled. It is the time of our lives, the seasons of change, it can refer to an auspicious time or a time of suffering. It is a cyclical circular time without boundaries. Kairos is present when we find ourselves back where we started, needing to face old issues once again. Here we begin to understand the nature of our lives from a wider and deeper perspective.  This is Kairos.

Saturn holds the nature of time. Given that Saturn is currently moving through my 6th house (representing among other things, pets). Between 2021 – 2022 Saturn squares my natal Venus, Jupiter, Sun, Mars, and Mercury. Saturn also opposes my natal Saturn.

My kitten now holds the name Kairos. This time of my life, this season of maturity and change has brought this time symbol of numinous time into physical form in my life.

The week begins with the Moon in Sagittarius as we prepare for the Full Moon tomorrow morning. Sagittarius is the mutable Fire sign looking for inspiration, growth, and adventure. When the Moon is in Sagittarius we are more adaptable than usual and able to shift direction with ease. Higher thinking, vision, and insights are expressed and accepted easily.

At 10:26 AM ET, Mercury re-enters Gemini. It will finally feel as though you are ready to move forward. Yes, Mercury has been direct since June 3rd, and yet you have still felt a bit stuck. Mercury will remain in Gemini until July 5th.

During this time Mercury knows it can get its work done. You are ready to take on new projects and have some of those necessary conversations. Mercury rules Gemini and is very happy to return to this mutable air sign. He is moving at full speed and you can make those plans, speak up, and get your point across.

You find that you need more intellectual stimulation than usual. Find new situations, people, and ideas to engage you. As your mental wheels spin, you seek others who can engage with your mind. This isn’t about deep ideas or profound thinking. It is more about gathering what is on the surface and finding nuggets of interest. With Mercury in Gemini, talk with as many people as you can, and find out what makes others tick. Share information and exchange ideas in a fast-paced environment with a variety of people and new ideas.

Today’s Sagittarius Full Moon is exact this morning at 6:51 AM ET. Each month the Full Moon brings us to a time of illumination. This is a time of celebration and awareness as we reach the pinnacle of the cycle that began six months ago and the shorter cycle that began two weeks ago.

In the monthly lunar cycle, this is the illumination of what began two weeks ago at the Gemini New Moon on May 30th. Regarding the larger cycle, this brings us to a point of awareness from the Sagittarius New Moon on December 4, 2021. Think of the Full Moon as bringing together these two cycles. Use this awareness to understand the personal connection between these two times in your life and circumstances.

When the Moon is in Sagittarius our focus turns to our higher goals of travel, study, and philosophical growth. We seek to expand optimism and adaptability in our lives. Humor and an expansive vision help us to see the silver lining in even the most challenging situations.

At 5:14 PM ET, the Moon leaves Sagittarius behind and proceeds into Capricorn. Over the next few days, you can expect a more serious emotional tone to hold us in its grasp. You may feel more ambitious and aware of the movement of time. You will want to use your time well and in service to your long-term goals.

Wednesday, June 15, 2022

As you wake to a morning with the Moon in Capricorn you find yourself to be more serious than over the past several days. Over the coming days, your focus is on ambitious and practical considerations that will support your long-range goals and plans. While the Moon is in Capricorn the prevailing mood is cautious, determined, and prudent.

Capricorn is the cardinal earth sign, ruled by Saturn and represented by the solitary mountain goat. This is a sensible hard-working sign that keeps us focused on personal ambition, mature efforts, and hard work. It is time to get to work and stop procrastinating.

At 6:50 PM ET the Moon forms a difficult square aspect to Mars (in Aries). This aspect will pass quickly but be aware that frustration or anger could arise. Do what is necessary to avoid drama and emotional outbursts. Keep the focus on personal accomplishment and making serious progress.

Thursday, June 16, 2022

The Moon continues through Capricorn for most of the day. Our emotional focus remains on practical issues, goals, and necessary plans. While the Moon is in this cardinal earth sign, we are aware of reality, integrity, and personal responsibility.

In the early hours of the morning, the Sun forms a lovely trine aspect to Saturn. This is a great complement to the Capricorn Moon and helps us utilize the best side of both. Common sense is strong and although things may not move quickly, accomplishment should be steady and true. You may be aware of limitations and practical constraints but are able to use that awareness to be more productive with your time and resources. This transit will be in effect for several days.

At 8:41 PM ET, the Sun forms a challenging square aspect to Neptune. This will also last several days and will be working in tandem with the Sun trine Saturn. Because this brings such a different energy to the table this is a potentially serious inner conflict. However, this is a great time to consider how we work with paradoxes.

On the one hand, common sense and effort are strong, on the other, we are dreamy and unfocused. How do we make space for both of these today? That is the question. Awareness is the key. The Sun trine Saturn brings common sense and practicality. At the same time Sun square Neptune wants us to forget reality and spend the day in an unfocused state of daydreaming.

I suggest that you take turns. Work hard and take breaks throughout the day for daydreaming, meditating, or unfocused creativity. Don’t try to ignore one in favor of the other.

At 4:44 PM ET, the Moon enters Aquarius. Set all that serious work aside and gather with others to share new ideas and opinions. There is much to talk about this evening.

Friday, June 17, 2022

The Moon continues through the cool friendly sign of Aquarius throughout the day. While the Moon is in this fixed air sign, emotions are filtered through the intellect. Your mood is likely to be informed by your thoughts, ideas, and conversations with others. Pay attention and keep your eyes open for exciting flashes of understanding. Complex ideas can suddenly make sense during this time.

When the Moon is in Aquarius we have the gift of distance from our emotions. We won’t get swallowed up with moodiness or allow the emotions of others to control our actions. Everything emotional is filtered through the intellect. Your mood is likely to be informed by ideas and exciting flashes of thoughts and ideas.

Aquarius is the sign of the visionary and the reformer. Be ready to think and talk about humanitarian issues. Consider how to contribute to the vision of a better world for all sentient life. Spend the day in future based discussions with friends and cohorts. Meet with people who expand your mind, vision, and perspective.

Saturday, June 18, 2022

The Moon is in Aquarius for the bulk of the day. We each have a responsibility to contribute to the vision of a better world for life on our planet. Open your mind to the advice and thoughts of others. Spend time with folks of like mind to create plans for the future.

Last Thursday the Sun had conversations with both Saturn and Neptune. We talked about the importance of holding space for complexity and paradox. Today has a similar tone as Venus, the planet that represents our values has a similar conversation with the same planets, Saturn and Neptune.

The question to ask ourselves is similar to that of Thursday. Can we talk and chew gum at the same time? Can we stabilize serious structures even as we dream and release the boundaries between ourselves and others? Perhaps the answer lies in taking responsibility for building the dreams of our deepest values and ideals. Balance is the key and understanding that both sides of a situation exist and can be worked with at the same time. It takes awareness.

At 6:01 PM ET, The Moon enters the mutable water sign of Pisces. This supports a weekend of rest. Sleep as much as you are able. Allow your imagination and intuition to guide you through the next few days.

Because the emotional state of others can impact us so strongly when the Moon is in Pisces, be conscious of who you spend time with. There is little in the way of boundaries between ourselves and others when the Moon is in this super sensitive sign. Practice having conversations this evening without saying a word. You may be surprised.

Sunday, June 19, 2022

There has been a great deal of complexity this week, it is sweet to see that we come to the end with a day of rest. With the Moon passing through Pisces all day we encounter a profound level of emotional sensitivity.

You may feel as though you are drifting on waves of subtle awareness and deep sensitivity. On the other hand, you may feel plugged into the suffering of humanity and are struggling to keep your head above water. Release the struggle and allow yourself to drift, and dream.

When the Moon is in Pisces you can connect with your muse and powerful levels of imagination. Allow boundaries between yourself and others to blur. In this way, understanding and compassion flow between you and others. You can emotionally put yourself in the shoes of those who are suffering. Finding a way to be of service to those who are suffering will help you avoid the tendency of the Pisces Moon toward escapism.

The best use of this day is to rest, meditate, pray, sing, listen to music, read or write poetry, watch films, and/or spend time by the ocean. Actually, any body of water will support your emotions today. Go swimming or boating in a pond, river, or lake.

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. The aspects under consideration are conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. The planets I work with are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
