This week begins in the darkest phase of the Moon. Allow what is no longer useful to fall away. Thursday night, we come to the Cancer New Moon/ Solar Eclipse. Don’t forget to do your New Moon ritual. It will be best to do that on Friday.
Keep your ritual simple. With this New Moon occurring in Cancer, the intention you set will involve nurturance, sensitivity, kindness, and love.
If you know what house in your birth chart holds Cancer, it will help you clarify what intention is needed. For example, if Cancer is held in your 1st house, set an intention to nurture and care for yourself, in the 4th house, set an intention to be more sensitive with your family members. If Cancer is in your 7th house, perhaps you could pay more attention to and show more kindness to your partner, or a close friend, or in the 10th house, you may need to develop closer bonds with your coworkers or nurture your business more deeply.
If you don’t know what house is involved, simply go with your intuition regarding the area of life that requires sensitivity and the development of loving and protecting others.

Better yet, make an appointment for a consultation.
Make your appointment today!

The New Moon is on Thursday night… do your ritual on Friday!
~~New Moon Ritual ~~
Take a moment to write down the changes you wish to begin, create, or increase in the upcoming Moon Cycle.
Have two candles available; light a candle to represent yourself, as you are at the moment. Light another candle as an aspiration of what you intend to create. Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle, then light the second candle, focusing on drawing to you what you want to create, bringing the two candles closer together.
Do this each day until at the Full Moon, you will bring them fully together and acknowledge the result of what you have created.
The Cancer New Moon suggests that you plant a seed of kindness and love in the development of deep family security.
Monday, July 9, 2018:
Don’t be surprised if you wake up Monday morning with an overriding desire to procrastinate whatever is pressing for your attention. The day begins with the Moon still in comfort seeking, sometimes lazy Taurus. Enjoy those last few moments of cuddling with your pillows or your partner.
We can’t blame the Taurus Moon for this procrastination as Mercury forms a square aspect to Jupiter in the early hours of the day. You may feel strongly resistant to others direction. This is a day you don’t want a boss at work.
At 12:59 PM EDT the Moon enters Gemini, lightening up the rest of the day. The procrastination will fall away and you can re-engage with whatever needs to be done with less internal protest.
At 10:31 PM EDT Venus leaves Leo behind to enter humble Virgo. Venus has been dancing and playing in Leo since June 13th without a shred of modesty. Now she will slow down to develop some refinement and discrimination.
The Taurus Moon is VOC* briefly from 12:10 PM until she enters Gemini At 12:59 PM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have a significant future impact.
Tuesday, July 10, 2018:
Since March 9th Jupiter, the planet that represents expansion, higher understanding, belief, and growth, has been retrograde. During the time of Jupiters retrograde, we have been internally revising our beliefs and understanding of our personal path of growth. Now it is time to trust that revision has done its work and you are ready to move forward with a new enlightened outlook. The effort behind the scenes that was necessary has been completed. With Jupiter moving through Scorpio and its time in this intense and deeply sexual sign has intimately involved with the ‘#MeToo’ movement, I am watching the news carefully this week.
The Moon continues its path through Gemini encouraging communication, curiosity, and the gathering of information. We learn so much through stories. This is a great day to listen to the stories of others and tell our own.

Wednesday, July 11, 2018:
The mixed energies on Wednesday may be a bit confusing and even disorienting. The morning is quiet, with a VOC Gemini Moon do your best to rest your mind.
As you move deeper into the day you feel pulled in several directions. First, you can’t help but be aware of the dark intensity building as the opposition between the Sun and Pluto is exact early Thursday morning. This powerful transit brings a clear view of the depth, hard work, and possible darkness that has been building over the past 6 months. Don’t turn away. Look directly at what is obvious, accept reality. This aspect will be exact on Thursday morning and will impact our lives for several days.
At the same time you are probably feeling a level of excitement, anticipation, and the opening of possibility as Venus, newly in Virgo, forms a flowing trine aspect to unusual innovative Uranus. Open your arms and your heart to accept a gift of beauty, love, or even finances from the universe. Keep your eyes open to what is being offered. Say yes.
At 1:58 PM EDT the Moon enters Cancer encouraging you to use love and your nurturing heart to balance these energies. Spend time with family and children. Cook together, love together.
The Gemini Moon is VOC* until she enters Cancer at 1:58 PM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have a significant future impact.

Thursday, July 12, 2018:
The overriding issue of Thursday is clearly the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Cancer and the opposition of both the Sun and Moon to Pluto in Capricorn. It is true that the Sun opposes Pluto once every year, conjunct Pluto once every year, and forms a square aspect to the Sun twice each year. Therefore it is important to understand that we are not unfamiliar with this combination of energies. The fact that we have this at the same time as a New Moon/ Solar Eclipse intensifies it considerably. This could well be a pivot point culturally and/or personally. Be mindful of the fact that everyone’s emotions are heightened. Pay special attention to your New Moon ritual as whatever seed you plant for a new beginning at this New Moon will have far more strength pushing its growth forward. With Pluto in opposition, you have a clear view of what has been building over the past 6 months. Whatever began then is now fully illuminated in all its power or darkness. Open your eyes to look deeply.
Because the Cancer New Moon/ Solar Eclipse is at 10:48 PM EDT please wait and do your Full Moon Ritual on Friday. See instructions for your ritual above.
The Cancer Moon is VOC* from10:48 PM EDT until she enters Leo on Friday at 1:30 PM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have a significant future impact.

Friday, July 13, 2018:
Friday starts quietly as we continue the process begun at the new lunar cycle (the Cancer New Moon on Thursday). Assimilate what you have learned over the past 24 hours.
At1:30 PM EDT the Moon releases her sensitivity and enters boisterous playful Leo, asking that we abandon our challenges and simply enjoy a beautiful summer weekend. At 5:11 PM EDT the dramatic Leo Moon forms a challenging aspect to Uranus. I suspect this will be just the push you need to get away from any problems lurking around and simply engage in social exuberance and creative self-expression. Part of you wants to stay home and wallow in some old story. Push yourself, you will be glad you did. This is a night for dancing and engaging with others. Make it easy for others to join you for a night of fun and laughter.
The Cancer Moon is VOC* until she enters Leo at 1:30 PM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have a significant future impact.
“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.” ~ Og Mandino
Saturday, July 14, 2018:
Saturday should offer a day of gentle stabilization. Beauty, finances, and love should feel available and the flow of life is one of ease. The smooth trine aspect between Venus and Saturn is exact in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Consider what began late last December. Did you start a new project, a new habit, a new intention or idea at that time regarding something that you value highly? Whatever began then the results were clear by late May and now you are able to flow easily in the stream of steadfast love, partnership or financial security that you have worked to build over this time. It may be subtle or it may be profound depending on your personal chart and how you have managed this cycle. This lovely energy offered up on a Saturday with the Moon in expressive Leo is wonderful to contemplate. Spend the day with loved ones, expressing and forming solid bonds and making plans for the future.
The Leo Moon is VOC* from 7:11 PM EDT until she enters Virgo on Sunday at 1:31 PM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have a significant future impact.
Sunday, July 15, 2018:
By the time you wake on Sunday, the Moon has entered practical hardworking Virgo. The Moon sets the tone for each day and changes sign every 2 ½ days. With the Moon now in Virgo we find ourselves more serious, dedicated, and thoughtful; you may find yourself more critical and detail oriented as well. This is a good time to accomplish a project that requires detailed effort and efficiency. Being so close to the New Moon, this is a great time to begin a new health or fitness regime. Watch the tendency to be overly critical of yourself and others.
On Sunday evening the Moon forms a Grand Trine to Uranus and Saturn. You are able to work with both excitement and stability seamlessly. What is most unusual may ground you and your most solid qualities will help to show you a more progressive path forward. A good day for projects, tasks, and kindness. Find innovative ways to ground and stabilize your experience.
“We use astrology most constructively and creatively when we gain from it a sense of what is possible for us at the highest levels of our potentialities. Seeing that, the challenges is then to keep our eyes open to life itself, to be able to respond appropriately when some event or change of circumstances…”
~ Dane Rudhyar “Astrological Aspects – a Process Oriented Approach” 1980

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Words of praise from Astrolore’s students:

“I have been working with Laurie for several months now and she has really helped me become familiar with the language of astrology. I had treated astrology like a hobby for many years and she inspired me to delve into the subject with a new perspective. I still have much to learn, but Laurie’s lessons have helped me to feel confident that by using her techniques to ask the right questions, the client will get a sense of themselves and lead to a satisfying consultation. I am very grateful to have found such an intelligent and inspirational mentor to study with!” ~Rhonda (Colorado)

I am so lucky to have found Laurie! I was searching for how to compose an astrological sentence, so of course, I googled it…I came upon a tutorial on just how to do it. I was shocked that it made so much sense! I was so pleased that I decided to e-mail Laurie and told her my story. She suggested a consultation and so we spoke, and we clicked! I have been studying with Astrolore since January and it has been an extraordinary experience. Laurie is a fun, creative, and brilliant astrologer and teacher. I can make mistakes with her and know she will kindly correct or look at it from my perspective. She is very humble and is always learning, even if it’s from her students. I am so grateful that I found her, and I am completely hooked on her methods and ideology. Love, love, love! ~Lauri (New Jersey)
