Welcome to the first full week of 2015! I have heard so many people express relief that 2014 has passed; with a high expectation of 2015 bringing a vast improvement.
From an astrological perspective, I think there is something to that expectation!
For the past 2 to 3 years, we have been through some very tough astrological passages. The Square between Uranus and Pluto has been in effect since the summer of 2012; Saturn entered Scorpio in October 2012. Over the course of this time, we have, individually and as a collective, struggled with issues of power and necessary change.
In the past week, Saturn has left the deeply emotional power of Scorpio and entered Sagittarius in search of meaning and growth.
The final Square between Uranus and Pluto is only 2 ½ months in the future! This has been such a long process it has felt like it would never end!
2015 will be a time of assimilating and coming to understand, the changes that we have been through individually and as a collective! This is a time to consider all that has occurred and all the change that you have experienced in your own life.
Let’s talk a bit about Saturn’s entrance into Sagittarius. This is a very significant change. Saturn spends approximately 2 ½ years in each sign, giving us plenty of time to learn the lessons that Saturn (the authoritative teacher) is instructing us on. Saturn’s lessons change as he moves from sign to sign.
Over the course of the last few years, as Saturn moved through Scorpio we have dug deeply into areas of major intensity, power, and control. The teaching we have received from Saturn over this period has been deeply psychological. We have been required to dig deeply into our most private and hidden nature, exploring the intensely penetrating mysteries that are deeply buried within us. Perhaps we’ve struggled with facing our own issues of jealousy, manipulation, and control.
Now and over the course of this year, consider these deeply internal issues, what you have learned over this period of time, and how you are moving forward in your psychological growth. Take the time and attention to really understand what you have mastered with deep understanding.
As Saturn leaves Scorpio behind and moves through Sagittarius, our lessons of maturity take on a very different tone. Over the next 2 ½ years we will seek to understand and learn from more philosophical directions, rather than deeply psychological areas.
We start to understand the necessity to seek deep meaning and philosophical understanding of our world. We certainly won’t all take on a formal study but many of us will return to school or develop a new way of understanding the world. The philosophical underpinning of education, politics, race relations, religion, and travel will all come under the microscope over the coming few years. The necessity of reform is clear and will demand attention at this time.
There is much to be learned as we expand our vision and understanding of humanity from a new perspective. We will all work hard for freedom, wisdom, fairness, and optimistic expansion.
If your Sun or Moon are in one of the four Mutable Signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius or Pisces) the movement of Saturn through Sagittarius will challenge your growth. Prepare for certain structures in your life to require major decisions. You will need to develop a level of maturity that may be unlike what you are accustomed to. The Mutable Signs understand change but with Saturn demanding stabilization you may surprise yourself and others by making powerful commitments and permanent change.

Monday, January 5, 2015:
The week begins with an incredibly long VOC* Moon in Cancer. Even if you do head back to the office on Monday, not a lot of work will get done on this first day back after the long winter holiday.
This is a day to assimilate the stressors of the holidays; a day to consider what has changed and to contemplate the path ahead. You may be aware of yourself and others feeling very sensitive today; your emotions may be very close to the surface.
At 5:20PM EST, Mercury in Aquarius forms an opening Sextile to Saturn in Sagittarius. How are your thought processes being stabilized? Keep your eyes open to the possibility or opportunity to speak your truth clearly and with a deep level of integrity. Express yourself clearly.
This may be a day to contemplate and consider new ways of thinking and alternative directions of the mind. Perhaps this is simply another opportunity to say what needs to be said, to explore ideas that need to be explored, and to share thoughts that may surprise ourselves and our loved ones.
Don’t take this day too seriously in terms of accomplishment; do take this day seriously in terms of paying attention to opportunities for growth, learning, and understanding.

Tuesday, January 6, 2015:
Expression is the key to making this day a success! At 6:03AM EST, the Moon enters Leo. Saturn brings us a free flow of stability and the need to look clearly at the reality of our circumstances. The Leo Moon also highlights Mercury and Venus who are newly in Aquarius offering us the desire, and ability, to express our innovative, humanitarian, and unconventional thoughts and ideals. We are drawn to people and ideas that show us a new perspective on our lives and our relationships. With Mercury, Venus, and Mars all in Aquarius, there is a suggestion that we can be quite objective in our thinking and our approach. We are able to see our lives and situations with a clarity that only comes through open-minded objectivity and detachment. Enjoy this clarity of mind.

Wednesday, January 7, 2015:
Wednesday continues pushing us into a week of pleasure and simplicity. The Moon continues through the playful generous sign of Leo forming a Trine aspect to Uranus early Wednesday morning. This is a lovely aspect for bringing the full expression of our pleasure and excitement into the world. Pay attention to where your heart longs to go.
Over the past few years, our lives have been proceeding forward with major innovations and change. Within this change, we encounter a powerful sense of fear or a powerful sense of excitement. This week encourages us to reach into that space of transformation with open-hearted excitement and joy. Be exactly the person you are meant to be. There’s no need to please anyone. There is a deep need to be who you know yourself to be.

Thursday, January 8, 2015:
The Moon in Leo starts the day dancing with Jupiter! This offers us a lovely morning for creativity and play! Anticipate a great deal of energy and the desire to fully express joy. Remember, however, that the transits of the Moon are quickly fleeting emotions.
At 12:05PM EST, the Leo Moon opposes Mars followed by the VOC* Moon until she enters Virgo at 5:58PM EST. During the afternoon our energies are more interested in expressing impatience or aggression.
On Thursday afternoon please maintain a high awareness of not only what you say, but also your tone of voice and the general impression people will have of you.
It will be easy to be perceived, or to perceive others, as angry or aggressive on Thursday afternoon. Do not assume that others are angry and give everyone the benefit of the doubt.
Following the Moon’s entrance into Virgo, focus your attention on activities that will satisfy Virgos need for meticulous productivity. Keep it simple: do the laundry, clean a cupboard or a closet! What you want to avoid this evening is nitpicking and analyzing whatever aggravation you may have encountered in the afternoon. Regardless of how important it seemed in the moment, don’t hold onto that. Release and put your energies into a detail-oriented project. Keep it simple. If you need to apologize, do so… and release.

Friday, January 9, 2015:
Friday will show up as a highly productive day! I want to give this one a big thumbs up! Plan ahead to do all your detailed and meticulous work on Friday. This would be a great day to work on taxes, bookkeeping, anything that demands close attention to detail. The Moon is in Virgo throughout the day forming a powerful trine aspect Pluto in the evening. Chances are you’re going to be very willing to work a very long day on Friday.
Start the day with clarity of purpose. What do you want to accomplish? The potential may be clearer than you think. A brief meditation in the morning will allow that clarity to show itself. Make a list and get right on it.

Saturday January 10, 2015:
Saturday will bring us another great day to get work done! The only aspect throughout the day is a beautiful free-flowing Trine between the Moon in Virgo and the Sun in Capricorn. This is a classic aspect of hard-working accomplishment. The best type of work to bring forth is that of selfless service to others. You are able to see what needs to be done, you are not afraid to do the work, and you don’t need to take credit for it.
This is not a day when any of us will be tooting our own horn or attempting to stand in the limelight. We want simply to do our best to move all of us forward. Seek out a project of selfless service. It can be very simple. Shovel the walkway for a neighbor, carry the groceries for the person you see struggling in the parking lot, or watch the child of a friend who needs time alone. Find a place you can be of service to another. Expect nothing in return.
Following the Trine aspect between the Sun and the Moon at 10:46AM EST the moon is VOC*. Please enjoy this low-key day; it certainly has the potential to provide satisfaction and deep pleasure.

Sunday January 11, 2015:
Sunday brings another day of simplicity and pleasure! At 6:57AM EST, the Moon enters Libra as our thoughts turn from Saturday’s attention on selfless service to Sunday’s focus on romantic, diplomatic, and social relationships.
This is a great day to spend with a lover, close friends, or in pursuit of beauty. This is a wonderful day for artistic endeavors; for creating charm and refinement in your relationships and/ or environments.
Throw together an impromptu party or gathering. Say yes to connections with others. This has the potential to be a great day. Try not to be alone. It is important to have others to interact with today. If you must be alone, make art, listen to music, take a hot bath, and pamper yourself as you would a lover.

This week: The Void of Course (VOC*) Moon!
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the moon is VOC*.
Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the moon VOC!
Monday, January 5, 2015 the Moon is VOC* in Cancer following an Opposition to the Sun and ending on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at 6:03AM EST when the Moon enters Leo.
Thursday, January 8, 2015 the Moon is VOC* in Leo following in opposition to Mars at 12:05PM EST and ending at 5:58 PM EST when the Moon enters Virgo.
Saturday, January 10, 2015 the Moon is VOC* in Virgo following a Trine to the Sun at 10:46AM EST and ending at 6:57AM EST on Sunday when the Moon enters Libra.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC time as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions.
The Planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
