Welcome to the first full week of 2016!
We begin the week with the Moon in Scorpio where she remains throughout Monday and Tuesday allowing us the time we need to contemplate the process ahead.
On Tuesday, even as your fantasies soften the burden, your ideas, and how you communicate them, encounter some rocky ground. Release any rigidity in your mind and welcome the paradox that is ever present.
Mercury turns retrograde on Tuesday, your teeth may feel set on edge if you have not prepared. Do take the time to prepare your projects for completion over the coming weeks. Remember, this is not the time to start new projects but the time for completing projects, communications, and all endeavors that have already begun. Mercury is retrograde for approximately 3 weeks and will turn direct on January 25th.
This is a powerful and potentially problematic week (Sun making contact with Pluto and Uranus) that could bring all kinds of secrets to the surface and force us to look into some of the deeper corners of our lives and psyches that we may prefer to avoid.
Do what is necessary; open to the reality of your situation and ride the wave of your life. We are reminded of the transformative power that has profoundly moved our lives, and the world, in new directions over the past several years (Uranus square Pluto 2012 – 2015).
Wednesday and Thursday, the Moon transits Sagittarius engaging our emotions in a desire to explore different perspectives on the situations we find ourselves in.
Friday and Saturday, the Moon is in Capricorn even as Mercury backs into Capricorn once more. These are serious days at the Darkest Phase of the Moon. Mercury enters Capricorn, Venus is conjunct Saturn; and we have no choice but to look at what is most serious, significant, and real in our lives.
On Saturday at 8:30 PM EST, we come to the New Moon at 19° Capricorn. As we begin this new lunar cycle, we must pay attention to our ambitions and the very real integrity that is demanded as we move forward.
Sunday afternoon, the Moon enters Aquarius and we move into a lighter, easier energy to end the week.

SIMPLICITY
Monday, January 4, 2016:
I don’t think it is ever easy for us to head back to our routine lives after the holidays finally come to a close. On Monday, with the Moon in Scorpio and the Sun rapidly approaching a conjunction to Pluto and a square to Uranus, we could all use extra time for inner work but reality awaits, with intensity and transformation on the horizon.
Your thoughts are active, your dreams are palatable, and you know that your life and the lives of those around you are fluctuating madly.
Monday begins with deep contemplation of the transformation that you so viscerally feel is right at your fingertips. For today, seek simplicity. The Scorpio Moon is forming pleasant and gentle aspects to Neptune, the Sun, and Pluto throughout the day.
Head home or to a place of comfort as early as you can on Monday. Practice excellent self-care, get plenty of rest, and pay careful attention to what your body, mind, and spirit seek.
As the week begins, we deeply contemplate the transformation that is possible, if not inevitable. Keep your expectations simple and direct.

MERCURY RETROGRADE
Tuesday, January 5, 2016:
Yes, Mercury turns retrograde at 8:06 AM EST. I hope you have moved beyond pure negativity regarding Mercury retrograde. Mercury will be retrograde until January 25th.
No, this is not a great time to make purchases such as cars, computers, electronics, or homes. However, this is not a period of time to hide under the bed in anticipation of everything going wrong! Simply focus your attention on getting accomplished what has been left undone since the last Mercury retrograde.
Do not take on new projects. This can be a time of great accomplishments if we pay attention.
On Tuesday, be aware of the impact your words and communications have on others. This is a complex day.
Venus square Neptune at 9:33 AM EST as you float within a daydream or release one you have been holding onto for some time. The path forward may not seem clear as you attempt to open your heart to a level of freedom, within the context of love, which has been previously unknown to you. Allow yourself to see the beauty of this path without restraint.
At 10:28 PM EST, the Sun conjunct Pluto; throughout this week, you will be reminded of the power and difficulties of the past several years. Contemplate the transformation in your own life, in the world, and in your community that began in 2012. The work is not yet complete.
This first week of 2016, we once again have the opportunity to look clearly and consider exactly where this transformation is bringing us and how we choose to travel this path.
With both Uranus and Pluto involved, the recommendations always come down to: ride the energies like a wave. Do not fight against what clearly needs to be managed. Embrace the joy and the difficulty involved.

LOOK FOR CLUES
Wednesday, January 6, 2016:
Pay careful attention to anything that aggravates you or catches you off-guard on Wednesday. Look for clues in your environment; where do you need to pay attention?
With the Sun conjunct Pluto on Tuesday and forming a square with Uranus on Thursday, anything that gets under your skin has a message or a lesson to teach you. The world has changed in the past 3 ½ years; your personal life has transformed in ways that leave you feeling like you’re living an entirely different life. Where in your life do you still need to be paying attention to lessons on empowerment and individuation?
The Moon is in Sagittarius on Wednesday. Engage your heart in open exploration of ideas and beliefs that are foreign to your current understanding.

EXPAND WITH AWARENESS
Thursday, January 7, 2016:
On Thursday morning at 7:22 AM EST, the Sun squares Uranus suggesting the necessity to continue working with the major transformation of the past several years. It feels like this process has been going on forever. This ongoing transformation is so deep and all-consuming that it simply takes this much time.
This cycle between the Sun and Uranus – the cycle of bringing your own individuation front and center in your life – began in April 2015.
Whatever began in April, came to full illumination in October. It is time now to begin the process of release in order to prepare for the next cycle of individuation, which will begin in April 2016.
Jupiter turns retrograde at 11:40 PM EST and will remain retrograde until May 9, 2016. Jupiter turns retrograde every 13 months and remains so for approximately 4 months. These periods are ideal for philosophical or spiritual reflection.
Jupiter’s retrograde allows extra time for internal introspection in whatever area of your life has been most recently expanding. If you have felt out of control, compulsive, or have been dealing with addictive behaviors, you will now have time to recognize, understand, and work with these issues.
Take advantage of this opportunity and look deeply within. Expand with awareness.

MATURITY IN CONNECTION
Friday, January 8, 2016:
Your thoughts, communications, and emotional needs are probably less than lighthearted as you approach the weekend.
The Moon enters Capricorn at 10:06 AM EST on Friday. At 2:36 PM EST , Mercury retrogrades back into Capricorn.  Happily, Venus is in Sagittarius, so your personal values, as they are reflected in your intimate relationships, allow space for exploration and play. Yet, within the context of that exploration, your communications and your deepest needs demand integrity, clarity, and serious intent.
At 11:10 PM EST, Venus conjunct Saturn; this echoes the connection between love and integrity. No matter how fun and free you feel with a partner, this is a time of serious development in relationship.
On Friday, we begin a new cycle of sincere and thoughtful stabilization or maturing of love or money and resources. Whatever you choose to begin now will mature and ripen over the coming months.
We are also in the dark phase of the Moon. This weekend you will need time for internal contemplation. You do not need to be alone; a partner or close friend will bring much value to your contemplations and your contemplations will bring much value to your relationship with that partner or friend.
Allow and seek open hearted trust and kindness.

CAPRICORN NEW MOON: BIRTH OF INTEGRITY
Saturday, January 9, 2016:
The New Moon at 19° Capricorn occurs at 8:30 PM EST. This offers a day of internal contemplation and serious consideration. We have just begun a New Year; it is important to consider the expectations you have for yourself and others.
Do you live your life with the level of honesty that feels appropriate to you? Are you clear of the deeper principles that guide your life? Do you truly live by those principles?
Taking time alone on Saturday afternoon for this contemplation will be time well spent. This is not a weekend for frivolity.
Ask yourself and seriously consider what you are developing in your life that will stabilize and support you in the coming months and years. Face the reality of your situation and work from your highest level of integrity, sincerity, and honesty.

SEEK AUTONOMY AFTER CONNECTION
Sunday, January 10, 2016:
Sunday should be a simple day to reconnect with yourself after a relatively challenging week and a very serious weekend.
The morning begins with expanded awareness and the necessity to communicate important issues. Yes, Mercury is retrograde. This highlights the necessity to pay attention and understand how your communications are being received. Make sure that your intention is conveyed properly and that you have been understood.
At 3:23 PM EST, the Moon enters Aquarius releasing us from the need to take ourselves as seriously as we have over the past two days.
With the Moon is in Aquarius, you may be attracted to the unusual, you have an instinctive need to analyze and understand your circumstances and life from an intellectual perspective. Your responses are based on your thoughts rather than your emotions at this time. Seek out social gatherings, brainstorm new ideas, and plan your goals for the future.
Personal freedom is very important as you end the week. All the seriousness around relationships from Friday and Saturday has probably kicked up your need for escape and freedom as well. These things ebb and flow; as we make serious intimate connections so we pull away, afraid of losing autonomy.
Sunday evening will be a great time to exercise freedom and autonomy. Go off alone or join in the company of personal like-minded, intellectually based friends.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
