As we enter the fickle month of March, let’s celebrate the upcoming change to Daylight Savings time which is only 2 weeks away. Already we are experiencing longer days and noticing the warmth in the sun no matter how cold the air is. In 2 weeks with the clocks moving ahead, we will return to much longer days as well as the sun continuing to get warmer by the day.
Last week we had a reprieve with temperatures in the 40s and 50s, robins showing their rust-colored bellies, and melting snows. The past few days have returned us to the reality of February with cold temperatures, high winds, and blowing snow.
There is a bit of humor attached to folks who talk too much about the weather. The premise is that they have nothing better to talk about and yet, there are not too many things that impact all of us than the weather. Most of us respond to sunshine by feeling more uplifted and to rain and grey skies by feeling low or sleepy. I know that is a generalization as I love nothing more than a rainy day if I have a lot of writing to get done in a single day.
Today it is very cold and the sun is shining. I am grateful to have tall windows to let the sunshine in. Kairos (affectionately known as KB) is happy to watch the many birds on our street from those sunny windows.

The Moon continues through Gemini for the bulk of today. This brings a day of curiosity, interesting engagements, and conversations with others. Socializing comes easily at this time.

The restlessness of the past few days has given way to the need for a sense of belonging and emotional connection. There is a great deal of astrological activity today, but with the moon in Cancer, your emotions will remain front and center. Two significant conjunctions happen this morning. A conjunction occurs when two planets occupy the same degree of the same sign. Conjunctions begin new cycles.
First, we have Venus and Jupiter joining together for their annual meeting at 12 degrees Aries. This is a lovely aspect that begins a cycle of warmth, growth, and love. Plant a metaphorical seed for the growth of courage that will enable you to accept and offer love directly and assertively. Courageous Love is ready to expand. Plant the seed and be prepared to tend to it in the coming months.
Shortly after that, Mercury conjuncts Saturn, bringing your thinking to serious matters. Plant a seed for the growth of future intellectual satisfaction. Find a focus of concentration and engage your most logical thought processes. If your thinking gets stuck on a negative or pessimistic track, find an important and serious task to put your mind to. Your intellect needs focus and a job to do. This is the beginning of a cycle of stabilizing your mind and securing your attention. Develop a plan, plant a seed, and watch it grow over time.

I love it when the Leo Moon lands on a weekend. It offers such good energy for playfulness and social pleasures. Yesterday as the Leo Moon squared Uranus it brought a bit of anxiety, today it opposes Saturn bringing a serious edge to a fun weekend.
Our attention is directed to the difficulties in the world and culture that are beyond our control. This Leo Moon asks us a very simple question. How can we help others?
Saturn asks that we face reality and our personal responsibilities. Leo solves problems by expressing over-the-top generosity. Leo is a very personal sign and today the large difficulties of the world feel very personal indeed. If you are able to express generosity with money or resources, find a cause that you feel great supporting.
