Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: February 2, 2015 through February 8, 2015
Here we are at the first week of February!
As the Sun continues its path through Aquarius, I consider the sharp intellect, intense clarity, and extreme brilliance of Aquarius to color these days.
Following the solstice on December 21st, the light has continued to return a few moments each day. At this point in the process, in the northern climates (I am writing from Vermont, USA), we experience a profound shift in the quality of light.
When I think of February, I think of brilliant sunshine glittering off ice and snow. There is brilliance and clarity in that light that is unlike any other! Perhaps it is because of the opposition to the sign of Leo, which is ruled by the Sun. Opposite Signs have much in common; in the case of Leo and Aquarius I think the commonality is the brilliance of the Sun and the perspective of clarity.
Aquarius is the sign of genius; not genius in the way of being of the highest intelligence, but genius in the ability to think outside boundaries that culture or family have imposed upon us. That is the brilliance and the genius of Aquarius.
The Full Moon in Leo on Tuesday enables us to see outside social (or familial) constructed boxes of limitation. Allow yourself to shine in full expression of your own individual truth.
The aspects throughout the week are highly positive. This brings us a week with plenty of opportunity to enjoy, stabilize, and deepen our relationships and circumstances.
Monday, February 2, 2015:
Starting the week off with an aspect between the Sun and Uranus indicates a week of excitement and a bit of instability.
We begin the week with the Moon VOC* in Cancer, suggesting a slow start to the day, couldn’t we just sleep a few more hours?
At 7:29 AM EST, the Sun forms it’s closing sextile to Uranus. In April 2014, the cycle between the Sun and Uranus began. Perhaps you received surprising news or began an unusual study or project at that time. Consider what began that was of an unconventional nature in April 2014. This cycle came to full illumination in October of 2014.
If you know what this cycle represents in your life, you may realize that it is now time to be actively completing or releasing that project or study. If you are unclear, simply pay attention to a truth or belief that is leading you to a powerful and empowering change, which will begin a new cycle of seeking individuality in early April 2015.
If you are experiencing anxiety on Monday, look at where you are attempting to avoid or hold back some significant change in your life. Stop resisting the change and the anxiety will lift.
You may hear, experience, or somehow encounter a reality that will offer you the opportunity to move forward toward your most necessary change.
Tuesday, February 3, 2015:
A lovely Full Moon occurs in Leo at 6:09 PM EST. The New Moon appeared in Aquarius on January 20th, two weeks ago. Consider what began at that time and what you now see as the result.
The Moon is brilliantly clear on Tuesday as she makes contact with Mercury and Uranus.
This is a chillingly bright day, offering the possibility of clarity and generosity of spirit. The Full Moon occurs when the Moon and Sun are exactly opposing each other. With the Sun in Aquarius and the Moon in Leo; consider the intellect of Aquarius and the heart generosity of Leo being open to a clear, unobstructed view of each other. Thinking of the Zodiac as a round table, consider planets at opposite sides of that table; as the Sun and Moon are on Tuesday. In this position, they have the clearest view of each other and the most direct avenue for communication. The Moon in Leo insists on full expression of generosity and openhearted love; the Sun in Aquarius shines brightly as the humanitarian and somewhat eccentric ‘truth sayer’. As these two stand facing each other in full sight, our generosity opens into new levels of humanitarian acceptance and love.
Observe with new eyes those folks who are deeply and profoundly unlike you. Fully accept the variety of human nature, human belief, and human reality. Look clearly into the deepest core, to where our differences dissolve.
Wednesday, February 4, 2015:
I find it interesting when we go through spells with such long VOC* Moons! This happens when the majority of the planets are in early degrees of the Signs. Wednesday brings us a full day with the Moon VOC* in Leo.
I would anticipate a fabulous day as long as work and accomplishment are not your top priority.
Wednesday will be ideal for playful socializing with friends, keeping warm by the fire with a good book, or window-shopping to your hearts content! Let’s get clear about that last example. Window-shopping could be great fun, however, actually purchasing items could prove to be problematic. The final aspect the Moon makes in Leo is a conjunction to Jupiter; watch for overspending or overindulgence of all types.
Considering that overindulgence may be a problem, push your energy in the direction of love and caring for others. Overindulge in kindness. Wednesday would be a great day to play with children, visit the elderly, and/or bring love to those who have been forgotten.
“Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage.” ~ Lao Tzu
Thursday, February 5, 2015:
We are relieved to wake up Thursday morning to the Moon solidly in Virgo bringing us a day where accomplishment is not only possible but likely to comes with ease. At 6:38 AM EST, Mercury sextile Saturn is asking us to look back to late November 2014, when a new cycle began between Mercury and Saturn. This cycle brought a serious topic of study or consideration to mind. Due to Mercury now being retrograde, we must reconsider the topic. The retrograde gives us an extended period of researching and considering what is needed to bring this topic to its desired conclusion.
On March 16, 2015, we reach the First Quarter Square in the cycle between them. At that time, we will be ready to take a serious step forward on this project, study, or idea.
Thursday morning holds serious energy, which will be replaced later in the afternoon by a bit of dreaminess, lack of clarity, or simply exhaustion.
Perhaps, you will want to focus your attention on health concerns. Pay attention to your body, how it feels, and how you care for it. Pay attention, as well, to your pets and their health concerns. A bit of selfless service to the outside world will do wonders for your self-esteem and your way of moving through life. As you care for and show value toward others, you also learn to more highly value yourself. Bring love to all corners of your life.
Friday, February 6, 2015:
Friday brings us another day of high productivity. We have a lot of energy to get a great deal accomplished on Friday.
At 1:19 PM EST, the Sun opposes Jupiter. This brings us to a full view of where our lives have expanded over the past six months. The Sun and Jupiter began this cycle of expansion in the last week of July 2014. The view is clear now.
We are able to see clearly how far we have come, how much our lives have grown and expanded throughout this time. The clarity is right there before our eyes!
Consider what began expanding in July 2014 and how that is now fully expressed and illuminated in your life. I would love to hear your experience! Please leave me a note!
The Moon is in Virgo going VOC* at 5:09 PM EST following an opposition to Mars. We may find ourselves struggling with frustration and crankiness Friday evening.
If you notice tension and strain in your conversations with others, simply set those communications aside for now. Whatever the conversation, there are better times to have it! Spending the evening at the gym, or some other solitary physical activity would be ideal.
Saturday February 7, 2015:
Allow yourself a slow leisurely start to Saturday morning. The Moon is VOC*, still being influenced by the opposition to Mars on Friday. Don’t be surprised if you feel a little cranky. Please don’t let it rule your morning, there is no reason for it to last! Let the energy pass through you.
At 1:44 PM EST, the Moon enters Libra and we release that crankiness that has kept us feeling a bit separate from others. Saturday afternoon everything takes on a lighter feel and we can enjoy a wonderful afternoon, evening, and Saturday night!
Yes! Whatever the question is, the answer is yes! Allow yourself the joy of connection, the joy of friendship, and the joy of socialization on this Saturday evening! Have a party, go to a party, or enjoy a night on the couch with an intimate partner.
I would be remiss to not mention that very early Sunday morning, shortly after midnight, Venus forms a sextile to Pluto. The energy of this transit will impact the entire weekend.
Sextiles always represent opportunities or possibilities. We can ignore them if we choose. When Pluto and Venus come together, there is a powerful attraction available. This is a powerful impact, a powerful pull toward love and all things of beauty. Our values are empowered profoundly. Keep your eyes open for deep transformative attraction.
Say: Yes!
Sunday February 8, 2015:
As I spoke about in Saturday’s post, the Venus sextile Pluto aspect is exact at 12:53 AM EST. Keep your eyes and your heart open for the opportunity to connect in deeply transformative ways with love, beauty, desire, and that which we value most deeply in our lives. If you feel pulled toward love or beauty, allow yourself to go with this profound offered opportunity.
The Moon is in Libra all day; this evening connecting with the ongoing square between Uranus and Pluto. You may feel that you need to justify some action that you have taken this weekend. Be prepared to own your right to create the life that works best for you. Watch for misunderstandings.
Don’t let the potential stress of the evening cause you any concern as you accept the love that is offered and the joy that this weekend offers.

This week: The VOC* Moon!
VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the moon VOC*!
Monday, February 2, the Moon begins the week VOC* in Cancer until 12:41 PM EST when she enters Leo.
Wednesday, February 4, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Leo) following a conjunction to Jupiter at 12:31AM EST and ending Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 12:46 AM EST when the Moon enters Virgo.
Friday, February 6, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Virgo) following an opposition to Mars at 5:09 PM EST and lasting until Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:44 PM EST when the Moon enters Libra.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC* time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*.
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions.
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
