The Changing Moon:

The Moon sets the emotional tone as she moves through the Zodiac day-to-day. Learning to work with this rhythm will help you align with and relax into an easier flow with the Universe. Every 2 ½ days she leaves one Sign behind to enter the next.

The Moon begins the week in curious Gemini offering comfort through gathering information for insight. When the Moon is in Gemini we desire variety and breezy light-hearted connections with others. This is a good time to catch up on emails and make those calls that you’ve been avoiding.

Very early Tuesday morning the Moon enters family-oriented Cancer as it builds to the Full Moon at 10:29 PM. The Moon will remain in Cancer until Thursday at 1:57 PM EST. When the Moon is in Cancer spend time with family members and loved ones. This is a time when your feelings run deep and you long to nurture, love, and protect others.

Thursday afternoon at 1:57 PM EST the Moon enters dramatic expressive Leo. When the Moon is in Leo we want love to be expressed in a dramatic manner. This is a time to show others your generosity and innate warmth. Creativity and drama seek expression.

The Moon remains in Leo until 8:13 PM EST on Saturday when she enters Virgo and we are ready to gravitate in the direction of practical activities. Organize the cupboards and take care of life’s boring details. Tend to the minutiae and clean up your living space. Neat and Tidy will make things right.

Please keep in mind that transits to your natal planets can override these more universal ones.

CURIOSITY AND RESTLESSNESS – Monday, December 28, 2020

At 6:59 AM EST, today’s Gemini Moon squares Neptune. If you can sleep late you may have interesting dreams to report when you awaken. For the remainder of the day, the Moon passes relatively undisturbed through restless, curious Gemini.

This is a good day for short trips and lighthearted conversations with friends, siblings, and neighbors. You should be able to get a lot done as long as you keep to the surface of any projects and don’t try to do deep work. You may find that your thinking is all over the place and covers lots of ground. Don’t expect it to go deep or into unknown terrain.

Stick with a quick road trip, bursts of logical thinking, and brief conversations.

Excessive questioning, superficiality, and nervousness may get in the way of any decisions or choices to be made. Keep your questioning and conversations light and enjoy the many side-trips your mind takes along the way.

The Gemini Moon is void-of-course from 10:01 PM EST until she enters Cancer early tomorrow morning. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

CANCER FULL MOON ILLUMINATION – Tuesday, December 29, 2020

Before you woke this morning the Moon entered family-oriented Cancer. When the Moon is in Cancer our frame of reference is home, family, and security. We look for emotional closeness through empathy, vulnerability, and intimacy. We may feel moody and in need of tender loving attention.

Cancer is a Cardinal Water sign and much stronger than you probably think. The nurturing of Cancer can be seen in the sweet eyes of a mama looking down on her young but also in the fierceness if her young is under threat. Never forget the strength beneath the sweetness of Cancer.

At 10:29 PM EST, we come to the Cancer Full Moon. If there is no cloud cover, be sure to go outside and revel in its beauty. This is the Moon’s fully illuminated state following 2 weeks of growth in light. The Full Moon represents completion, the full picture, a realization, and a peak moment of clarity. This is a time to celebrate how far you have come and the progress you have made over the past 2 weeks and the past 6 months.

Full Moons may be disruptive bringing anxiety or erratic behavior. Engage in a purposeful celebration encourage that energy to move outward with purpose.

The Gemini Moon is void-of-course until she enters Cancer at 5:29 AM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

REALITY CAN WAIT ANOTHER DAY – Wednesday, December 30, 2020

Today begins with a challenging square aspect between Venus and Neptune. Venus represents our idealized view of love and personal values. Neptune represents our subconscious, our dreams, fantasies, and imagination. With the challenge of the square aspect, you may find it difficult to face reality in some area of your life today.

Your preference is to find an escape route, you may idealize your relationships and your situation in general. Insecurity regarding your relationships or over idealizing them may be an issue.

Don’t try to force reality on yourself. Awareness of how you have put someone on a pedestal is enough. Stay with the dream, use your imagination, write a poem, and listen to music. Reality can wait another day or two. As long as you know it is a fantasy, go ahead and enjoy the soft beauty of your imagination.

The Moon continues through sensitive Cancer all day. You may feel more nostalgic and domestic than usual. Go ahead and indulge in those things that are soothing to the soul. Create security and comfort in your family and environment.

FAREWELL 2020, IT’S BEEN A TRIP INDEED – Thursday, December 31, 2020

The Moon begins the day in the protective family-oriented sign of Cancer. You may want to spend the morning creating a sweet family scene with a lovely shared breakfast on this last day of 2020.

At 1:27 PM EST, the Moon leaves Cancer behind and enters Leo seeking a New Year’s Eve party vibe. 2020 can’t end with the celebrations of the past but with the Moon in Leo, you must find a way to celebrate. My suggestion is that you get dressed up, turn on your disco ball or another form of mood lighting, start up the music, and dance your way into the new year.

2021 DOES NOT usher us into the age of Aquarius (as I’ve heard suggested in the name of astrology), and will bring its own challenges. However, we are gloriously and happily releasing the darkness of 2020. You can expect less solitude and depression, but continued and increasing upheaval in the coming year. There is an immense amount of work and effort to rebuild our lives following the fateful year of 2020. We will do well to focus on that effort as we move forward.

The Cancer Moon is void-of-course from 8:44 AM EST until she enters Leo at 1:57 PM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

IMAGINATION AND POETIC THINKING BEGIN A NEW YEAR – Friday, January 1, 2021

At 6:18 AM EST Mercury sextile Neptune suggests that we notice our thought processes and how we share our thinking with others. Mercury speaks to all things involved in our thinking, our ability to communicate, and what we think about. Neptune breaks down barriers putting a soft haze of imagination and a soft glow over everything it touches.

Given that this is a sextile aspect we have the opportunity to soften our minds and find ways to use our imagination. Allow a soft focus on how and what you think about today. This is a great day for imaginative or poetic thinking, communicating, or writing.

The Moon is in Leo all day allowing us a high level of exuberance and enthusiasm. Your loyalties and strong and your expressions dramatic.

Spend the afternoon in some sort of artistic or creative activity. Connect to an inner playful nature, allow passion and gestures of love to flow. Seek and express pleasure and simple enjoyment.

TAKE TIME FOR CREATIVITY – Saturday, January 2, 2021

The Moon remains in Leo for most of the day. Enjoy it while you can. With the Moon in Leo, you need more attention than usual. As long as you realize that everyone needs this extra attention all will work well. Surround yourself with people who bring affection and loyalty that match your own.

The expressive side of Leo delights in all kinds of artistic activities. Give yourself and others free rein to express generosity and passion. Leo is ruled by the Sun and is more than willing to pour forth with expressive open-hearted warmth.

At 8:13 PM EST, the Moon enters cautious Virgo, settling us down after the excitement of Leo. Over the next few days, we begin to think about how best to care for our bodies and minds. We become more attentive to the details of what works and what doesn’t. It is time to look forward to a more practical approach.

The Leo Moon is void-of-course from 5:00 PM EST until she enters Virgo at 8:13 PM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

STEADFAST PRACTICALITY – Sunday, January 3, 2021

Today you can begin to look ahead toward a renewal of common daily tasks and routines. The holidays are behind us and adjustments must be made to put us on a steady path forward.

The Virgo Moon asks you to consider how you have treated your body and mind over the past few weeks. Even the smallest details of your daily routines impact your mental and physical health. It is easy to become self-critical in this contemplation and important that you take one step at a time toward improvement. There is no need to do it all at once.

When the Moon is in useful, practical Virgo we seek a simple order and ways to be helpful to others. This is a great time to do home chores and organizational projects. You will feel so much better if your surroundings are neat and tidy and your thinking is practical and ordered.

At 8:45 PM EST, the Virgo Moon forms a lovely trine aspect to the Sun now in Capricorn. This brings easy steadfast practicality to the end of the week.

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its void-of-course, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the void-of-course.
The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
