Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night by William Roger Snow

Merry Christmas to All and to All a Good Night by William Roger Snow

Let’s talk for just a moment about Christmas. I suspect those who celebrate are very busy as we stand on the runway moving quickly toward this major holiday. I am sure many of you reading my posts don’t celebrate Christmas for religious, cultural, or personal reasons. There are many reasons why folks don’t celebrate this holiday.
I spent many years of my adult life not celebrating the holidays at all. In retrospect, the effort and the resistance of not celebrating was in itself very powerful and took a great deal of energy.
Personally I would prefer my gifts, and my gift giving, to be scattered throughout the year rather than all clumped together at the end of December. There is so much stress at this time of year, the majority of which is self-induced by our expectations!
I still don’t celebrate much, but I do allow myself to get caught up in the parties and festivities. Here in the northern hemisphere I think any excuse to put up lights and gather together for festive events is of great value to all of us!
With that being said, I am as busy as the rest of you and writing this post is very time-consuming. I am going to do my best to keep it short this week!
Beginning in January I’m going to have an assistant to help with the editing and some of my busy work! I am so excited and looking forward to the improvement in the quality of my blog posts.

Monday, December 22, 2014:
We begin this week with a big pile-up of planets in Capricorn; Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, and Pluto.
In just a few more days we will be putting the Christmas holiday behind us and yet the planets are anxious to get us back on solid ground, working hard toward our most ambitious goals.
There is a serious edge to this time that cannot be denied. Even in our pleasures we seek structure and meaning.
On Sunday we began a Cycle of deeply serious ambition. Monday is a very serious day moving us into a relatively serious week.
However, do not worry if your holiday plans are unfolding with a decidedly unexpected or unusual edge. Appreciate exactly where you find yourself, the reality of your life may look different than you expect; allow what is to be exactly what you need in your life. It is up to you to love your life.

Tuesday, December 23, 2014:
We begin Tuesday with a VOC* Moon that lasts until 9:51 PM EST. That is an entire day of VOC* Moon. If you still have holiday shopping to do, let it wait until tomorrow!
The big news today is that Saturn enters Sagittarius! This is a lightening-up of the intensity we have struggled with over the last 2+ years. In the coming 2+ years, while Saturn moves through Sagittarius, much of our attention will be focused on the hard work required to bring real understanding between different cultures, races, genders. Our work will be in raising ourselves above the places we have been stuck in our narrow view. It is time to really make the serious effort of seeing the world from a much broader perspective.
The Moon enters Aquarius at 9:51 PM EDT. Allow yourself to enjoy escaping some of the traditions and enjoying a looser, more quirky version of the holiday.

Wednesday, December 24, 2014:
Wednesday is Christmas Eve for those who celebrate it. On Wednesday we encounter a Square Aspect between Mercury and Uranus; on Thursday Mercury will Conjunct Pluto. Once again the Square between Uranus and Pluto is highly activated. This brings communication, our ideas, and our thoughts to the conversation.
What secrets could be revealed? Are you spending the holidays with family? What family skeletons must be brought out of the closet in order for deep healing within the family to occur?
Pay attention. What do you need to say that must be said? What has been swept under the rug fro too long, festering beneath the fabric of the entire family? Who is going to be the one to speak up? Expect communications that may rock your perspective of your world. Be willing to allow information into your awareness with objectivity. The Aquarius Moon will help our emotions to remain detached enough to make this possible.

Thursday, December 25, 2014:
Merry Christmas! What came to light yesterday? What was said; what was revealed; what epiphany occurred within your mind? We are all being changed from the inside out and this is a powerful day to pay attention to those things that are shifting; even in the midst of Santa Claus and Plum pudding.
At 11:29AM EST Mercury Sextiles Chiron. This offers an opportunity to contemplate the intensity that has been with us for several days now (at least) and bring it to a place of deep healing. Allow your mind to soften and to accept the healing that is available.
The Moon is VOC* between 10:11AM EST and 11:06 PM EST. Another full day of VOC* Moon! Rest in the comfort of a day off.

Friday, December 26, 2014:
Friday the Moon is in Pisces all day. We are ready to have a day of rest after all the activities, the family and social events leading up to Christmas. This is really a perfect day to sit on the couch watching movies, reading a good book, and enjoying a glass of wine.
Friday evening brings us the Sun Sextile Neptune. Think back to the last week of February 2014. What dream began at that time? Now there is an opportunity to consider how far that dream has come and get clear if you want to stay on that path or diverge from it at this time. This is not the time to make a decision but to pay attention to your instincts and intuition for the next step of reaching toward that dream.
Allow a soft focus for the day, no expectations, no demands on yourself or others.

Saturday December 27, 2014:
The Moon remains in Pisces on Saturday. I can’t imagine better astrological weather for the Saturday after Christmas. Go skiing, go to the movies, spend time with family and friends, relaxed into a day with few expectations; make no demands, add no stress. If you are with family and love ones anticipate a gently positive day; a low-key day for connection and enjoyment. The Moon Sextiles both Mercury and Venus suggesting an opportunity to say what may otherwise be difficult to say. We are able to fully express our love and care for each other. Do not keep words of love to yourself. Share them; this is a day to openly express your depth of feelings.

Sunday December 28, 2014:
Moon enters Aries very early on Sunday morning coming to the First Quarter Square at 1:31PM EST. At this time we are ready to get serious about all that we want to accomplish. Don’t put your work and effort on hold any longer!
Sunday would be a perfect day to spend a few hours working on your 2015 calendar/schedule!
Yes! Go ahead and get the major projects, plans, and vacations on your calendar now! When you go back to work after the start of the New Year you will have already gotten a jump on the year ahead. Start the planning process now to get you off on the right foot!

This week: The VOC* Moon!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question. Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the moon is VOC*.
Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the moon VOC!

Monday, December 22, 2014 Moon is VOC* (in Capricorn) following A conjunction to Venus at 10:17 PM EST and ending on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 9:51 PM EST when the Moon enters Aquarius.
Thursday, December 25, 2014 Moon is VOC* (in Aquarius) following an Opposition to Jupiter at 10:11 AM EST and ending at 11:06 PM EST when the moon enters Pisces
Saturday, December 27, 2014 Moon is VOC* (in Pisces) following a Sextile to Venus at 10:44 AM EST and ending on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at 1:34 AM EST when the Moon enters Aries.

______________________________
* in these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
