The Changing Moon for this week:

The Moon sets the emotional tone as she moves through the Zodiac day-to-day. Learning to work with this rhythm will help you align with and relax into an easier flow with the Universe. Every 2 ½ days she leaves one Sign behind to enter the next.

The Moon begins the week in passive soft-spoken Pisces where she remains for the bulk of the day. You may feel loving, compassionate, or creative. If you feel overwhelmed rest a bit, listen to music, or spend time alone in rest.

At 5:33 PM EST on Monday the Moon enters Aries. You may feel that you are waking from a dream. It may suddenly feel that it is time to take quick action on something you have put off. This supports the First Quarter Phase that perfects at 6:42 PM EST. There is no need to jump into the fire but it is important that you consider what action needs to be taken to support what you began at the New Moon Solar Eclipse on December 14th. When the Moon is in Aries you may feel bold and courageous and ready to do where you would normally hesitate. The Moon will remain in this hot-headed, risk-taking sign until Thursday morning.

Thursday at 5:56 AM EST the Moon enters Taurus asking that we slow down, submerge ourselves in the Natural world and pay attention to the more sensual aspects of life. The Moon remains in Taurus until 6:32 PM EST Saturday evening.

At 3:62 PM EST on Saturday the Moon enters Gemini. Gathering information and intellectual explorations are good activities when Gemini is afoot. Seek and find comfort in connections, and conversations as you end the week.

Please keep in mind that transits to your natal planets can override these more universal ones.

WINTER SOLSTICE PAIRS WITH THE GREAT CONJUNCTION – Monday, December 21, 2020

The Winter Solstice offers a good reminder that Western astrology is based on the seasons, unlike Vedic astrology which is based on the constellations. The Winter Solstice comes at the moment (5:02 AM EST) the Sun leaves Aquarius to enter Capricorn. This is the day with the shortest daylight and longest night of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the opposite in the Southern Hemisphere. From today forward we will get a bit more daylight every day as we move toward Spring. The Winter and Summer Solstices along with the Spring and Fall Equinoxes are turning points of the seasons. They also begin the Cardinal Signs. At the Winter Solstice, the Sun enters Capricorn, at the Spring Equinox the Sun enters Aries. At the Summer Solstice, the Sun enters Cancer, at the Fall Equinox the Sun enters Libra.

While we are celebrating joyful movement toward more light, we come to the very important conjunction between Jupiter and Saturn at 1:20 PM EST. This is called the Great Conjunction because it involves the two planets furthest from us but still visible with the naked eye. The conjunction is always the most significant aspect formed, as it proclaims the ending of one cycle and the beginning of another.

Jupiter signifies expansive vision while Saturn suggests responsibility, structure, and discipline. To successfully make things happen and manifest results both of these energies are needed in equal parts. As they join together in this great conjunction consider this a powerful opportunity. As you learn to combine these necessary elements you learn to move your life in the direction you desire and determine. Balancing the extensive generosity and growth of Jupiter with the focused effort and hard work of Saturn, may not be easy, it can be done. Thus begins a 20-year cycle of effort and expansion.

At 5:33 PM EST, the Moon enters Aries waking up your desire to push into the future. You long to take fast action. The First Quarter Moon adds pressure to take further action on what the Solar Eclipse New Moon brought last week. Make the effort to contemplate your life, how you are living it, and what you want to do to move it in another direction.

The Pisces Moon is void-of-course from 5:25 AM EST until she enters Aries at 5:33 PM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

RIDE THE WAVE – Tuesday, December 22, 2020

Today we actively adapt to the Sun now in Capricorn and the New Cycle which began at yesterday’s Great Conjunction. Look toward the future and take the necessary steps to make sure you are standing on the best path for your desires.

Aries is passionate, assertive, and oriented toward action, this is the Cardinal Fire sign. When the Moon is in Aries your personal needs take center stage. Remember that each of us is likely to do the same. If others seem selfish give them a little slack as you will hope for the same.

At 10:57 AM EST, the Aries Moon forms a trine aspect to Venus in Sagittarius. A trine aspect places planets 120 degrees apart, in full harmony, vision, and support of each other. This suggests an easy flow of energetic positivity between your values and your emotions. Personal connections and relationships are positively highlighted for today. Because this is a trine in Fire signs there is enthusiasm and action, take time to play.

RUMBLINGS BELOW, TEMPERS ABOVE – Wednesday, December 23, 2020

Generally speaking Mars squares Pluto occurs approximately once a year. 2020 has been ‘special’ in many ways. With Mars retrograde this year he has formed a square aspect to Pluto three times (August 13, October 9, and today). This lays out a story in the world and in your personal life.

Think about Mars as the energy of testosterone and Pluto as the energy of power and control. A square aspect pits the energies involved against each other. This is intense energy that transforms with force. Take care to stay away from any space that could be prone to unrest or violence. Listen and you will hear rumblings below ground as tempers flare.

If you know your chart look to the houses that hold Aries and Capricorn to consider where the story is playing out in your personal life. For this, you will want to use Whole Sign houses. What you will find is a story of work, effort, transformation, stress, potential action, and anger.

With the Moon in Aries use your physicality to release energy and move it out of any stuck pockets of stress. Go for a run, pummel your punching bag, lift weights. As long as you have prepared before today, go ahead and take that necessary direct action to move your life forward. Do not take action if it comes upon you as a sudden solution.

The Aries Moon is void-of-course from 5:51 PM EST until she enters Taurus in the wee hours of tomorrow morning. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

WELCOME THE HOLIDAY WITH COMFORT AND CALM – Thursday, December 24, 2020

As you wake notice the sense of calm and quiet that has settled over the day with the Moon now in Taurus. If you don’t immediately feel a sense of tranquility you may spend the bulk of the day seeking it.

If you celebrate Christmas, how is your celebration different this year than it has been in the past? Are you experiencing the advantages of staying closer to home? Are you able to create coziness in your world rather than doing what others have always expected of you? Your experience of holidays is deeply colored by your horoscope and the family you grew up in. Today, focus on beauty, warmth, loyalty, and quiet calm as these are all features of Taurus.

Consider that the Taurus Moon gives you permission to make the focus of the day simple comfort. Quiet down, make cookies, sit by the lights with a hot toddy. This is a perfect day for calm and quiet.

Yes, you may miss the travel, parties, family gatherings, etc, but do your best to appreciate exactly where you find yourself in the midst of your life. Contemplate and love your life, just as it is including all the challenges and difficulties.

The Aries Moon is void-of-course from 11:17 AM EST until she enters Taurus at 5:56 AM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

THIS HOLIDAY OFFERS UNEXPECTED EXCITEMENT – Friday, December 25, 2020

The quiet calm of yesterday seems a thing of the past today. The Moon remains in Taurus but its calm nature is overshadowed by the trine aspect of Mercury to Uranus at 2:04 AM EST.

Thinking ahead, not that Sunday night brings the Sun trine Uranus as well. This expands the excitement or anxiety that will likely impact the weekend.

With Mercury trine Uranus you can expect the arrival of new ways of thinking, new ideas, and unusual expressions. Mercury represents how the mind processes thought and communications, Uranus is ‘the Awakener’. What is it that we will wake up to see this weekend? Expect the unexpected.

You may receive gifts or information that surprises you in a positive manner. What you actually expect is unlikely to be what you will receive. Chance encounters with information or ideas may change the entire shape of your day. Keep an open mind and allow new ideas and perspectives to change your view.

Flashes of insight may open solutions to problems you didn’t even know you had. This is a great day for playing games, solving puzzles, and explorative conversations.

ACCEPT WHAT IS NEW, MOVE FORWARD – Saturday, December 26, 2020

You may spend today adjusting to whatever news came your way yesterday. It may be that you simply got an unexpected gift that you are adjusting to or perhaps some unacknowledged difficulty came to light. Either way, today you can relax and accept the new place, situation, or circumstance you find yourself in. Perhaps you ‘woke up’ to an unusual innovative way of managing some situation in your life.

Use today’s Taurus Moon to allow your heart and mind to simply absorb the information and decide the most comfortable way to move forward with what you know now.

As you settle into the evening the Moon enters Gemini at 6:32 PM. You may get a second wind and feel a renewed interest in what the recent awakenings have taught you.

The Taurus Moon is void-of-course from 6:32 AM EST until she enters Gemini at 6:32 PM EST. This suggests that what occurs during this time will not have much impact.

EXPRESS WHAT IS MOST UNIQUELY YOU – Sunday, December 27, 2020

Spend today catching up with friends and family whether by phone or Zoom. The Moon continues through Gemini encouraging communication, curiosity, and the gathering of information. We learn so much through stories. This is a great day to tell stories and listen to the stories of others.

With the Moon in Gemini, you may feel lighthearted, friendly, and interested in easy engagement with others. Your mind is likely stimulated, fast-moving, and restless.

At 10:25 PM EST, the Capricorn Sun trines Uranus. This connection to Friday’s wake-up energy builds throughout the day. Anticipate this activity through the next few days as we move toward the Cancer Full Moon next week.

Over the next few days, you will feel a strong desire to express your most individual unique self. You are comfortable with the more extraordinary and unusual side of your personality and are not afraid to allow others to see you clearly.

Go ahead and express yourself in creative, inventive ways with unexpected flare. Keep yourself open to new ideas and ways of being. Enjoy.

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its void-of-course, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the void-of-course.
The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.” ~ Og Mandino
