The day will come when we will no longer talk about the Square aspect between Uranus and Pluto. That day will come but it has clearly not arrived yet! This is the configuration that has profoundly informed the changes we have seen over the past 2–3 years.
Last week ends with a bang; this week begins with the same!
Are you tired of this intense demand for change? How often over the last 2½ years have you heard astrologers talk about the transformation that, we as a species, are undergoing?
Since the summer of 2012 we have been riding this train of revolutionary destruction and ultimate purification.
The lives we were living prior to 2012 are now unrecognizable even to ourselves; think of how differently you see yourself, your life, the culture you live in, and the people who govern and control all of us.
This is a time of almost unprecedented upheaval; if you are old enough, think back to the 1960s when Uranus and Pluto began this cycle. Now as we push into the next phase of that cycle, amongst the destruction, we must maintain awareness and blow upon the coals of our ultimate empowerment and rebirth.
Expect the upcoming weekend to be very active; perhaps even putting a line in the sand; it could well be a game-changer in one or more areas of your life.
Venus comes strongly into view this week and asks us to look at what began in November 2013 and in May 2014.
The week may surprise you with its slow start but by the time the weekend comes along you will hardly be able to keep track of all the irons in the fire! Did someone mention burning the candle at both ends.

This is the astrological aspect that informs and reflects the radical destruction and transformation we are seeing in all aspects of our lives and our world. Spend some time on Monday looking deeply into the ways your life has changed since the Summer of 2012. Pay attention, not only to the visible changes, but also to the internal changes that others do not see. Pluto is at 12° Capricorn, Uranus is at 12° Aries; check your own horoscope to see where those points fall. If you have personal planets or significant points between 11° and 13° of cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn) these changes will be most profound. Tuesday’s Libra Moon runs headlong into the dynamic between Uranus and Pluto. This would be a good day to keep a low profile, in your personal life, as there may be a great deal of anxiety and stress. With the upcoming winter holidays there are many reasons for anyone you encounter to be inpatient and anxious. There are so many high expectations for this time of year, it is a where person who does not experience A certain amount of stress. With Tuesday’s configuration stress is highly activated.
Find ways to work with it! Give yourself plenty of extra time to accomplish any chores you need to do on Tuesday. Extra time will enable you to slow down and be kinder to everyone you encounter. Even one person’s ability to show kindness during this holiday stress can make a great difference in people’s lives. Make it a point to be kind, to be patient, and to leave your judgments of others behind.
Last week Venus entered Capricorn; on Tuesday Mercury steps forward to join her. By the end of this week the sun will also leave Sagittarius behind to enter the serious authoritative energy of Capricorn. Allow Wednesday morning to start slowly. We will wake to the Moon VOC* until she enters Scorpio at 9:52AM EST. Now we can enjoy one of the easiest days of this week. If you are preparing to celebrate the ‘Gift Giving Holidays of December’ Wednesday and Thursday are your best bet for any shopping you may need to do. Do not wait until the weekend!
Wednesday can be used productively if you have deeply significant communications that you want to deliver with great kindness. Our emotions are running deep; along with the serious nature of our thoughts we are able to articulate what needs to be said. If you have an important proposal, essay, or personal communication to write Wednesday would be a good time to get it done. Our emotional state is supporting a level of deeply serious thinking.
On Wednesday evening I think I’ll pour myself a glass of wine and enjoy sitting by the fire (if only I had a wood stove or fireplace!) with a good book or perhaps an excellent film.
Thursday, December 18, 2014:
Thursday is going to bring us a day without too much complication once we get past the Square between the Moon and Mars very early in the morning. Avoid any confrontation at the breakfast table. Once you have made it to work without any arguments or confrontations the rest of the day should be productive. The Sextile from the Moon to Pluto at 9:40 AM EST suggests empowerment of our emotional resources and the ability for accomplishment.
Again, if you have chores or shopping to do associated with the upcoming holiday Thursday will be a good day to get it done.
With the Scorpio Moon we can expect our emotions to be deep and complex. Take time on your own to look inward. So many changes are taking place and for so many of us life itself seems terribly uncertain. Look inward, be honest with yourself and others, and open your heart to love.

For Thursday we talked about the emotional depth and complexity of the Scorpio Moon. If you were not able to take time on Thursday to look inward and contemplate the depth of your current life changes, it will be important to do so on Friday. We will be heading into a very active and intense weekend. Time spent alone in contemplation will go a long way toward bringing the more positive aspects of the weekend to light.
Moon in Scorpio Conjunct Saturn at 4:11PM EST, giving us a very brief VOC* Moon until she enters Sagittarius at 4:55PM EST.
A Friday evening with a Sagittarius Moon always suggests enjoyment, parties, fun, and socialization. I would suggest, however, that before you make your Friday evening plans you carefully consider the weekend as a whole. It will be important that you are able to be fully present in your life during the intensification of the upcoming weekend. So, don’t drink too much, don’t play too hard, get enough sleep! It will help a lot!

Saturday ushers us onto a wild ride! Once again we are intimately connected with the Square between Uranus and Pluto as Venus makes contact on Saturday.
The power dynamic between Uranus’ demand for freedom and Pluto’s insistence on control is highly activated this weekend by what we love and what we desire.
This begins a new cycle between Venus and Pluto. Think about this as a cycle of empowering our deepest values, a cycle that brings great depth and meaning to those things we value most in the world; relationships, love, resources, and money. Here we learn lessons of power and control within our love relationships and within our relationship to beauty and money. This will likely play out for you in your most intimate relationships, in your financial situation, or within the context of the beauty you create in the world (your art).
You will know exactly where this is playing out in your life if you simply look at where you long to go to the very deepest root and you know you are holding on perhaps a little too tightly. I recommend a lot of self-care and kindness this weekend. You probably will go too deeply and you probably will hold on too tightly. Do not try to control this energy; work with your full awareness, with your eyes wide open, and with kindness to everyone involved.
At 10:46 PM EST we are provided with the opportunity to express our need for unique self-expression and freedom (Mars Sextile Uranus). We are unlikely to allow anyone to stand in the way of our independence, freedom, and inspiration! We have the opportunity to embrace and accept our own individuality; and we may insist that others accept us as well!

Sunday is a very significant day! Winter solstice is exact at 6:02 PM EST when the Sun enters Capricorn. At the Winter Solstice we come to the shortest day and the longest night of the year. From this day forward each day will bring back a tiny bit of light. The darkest part of the season will now be behind us as we move forward toward the light.
Sunday Uranus stops in his tracks to turn direct once again! Uranus has been moving retrograde since July 21, 2014. What has been standing in the way of your personal revolution? What has been standing in the way of becoming true to the most unconventional parts of your life that have been demanding expression?
When I speak about the movement of the planets I mostly refer to our individual lives.
However, as you watch the world outside you will see the same patterns reflecting in the events happening on all levels. Watch the news, the weather channels, the cultural shifts and changes, watch your friends and family. All the avenues toward freedom that have been stuck are now ready to move forward. This movement will not be without upsetting or unexpected results. It is the cost of revolution, transformation, and freedom regardless of whether it is playing out in our personal lives or in the world around us. Transformation does not happen without struggle. This is not a negative reflection; it is reality. We must struggle for change; we must fight the good fight.
The Moon in Sagittarius is VOC* from 7:35 AM EST until she joins the Sun in Capricorn at 8:25 PM EST. Along with Uranus turning direct and the Sun entering Capricorn, we also have a New Moon at 8:36 PM EST.
Taking time alone for contemplation is highly recommended. This is the time to plant seeds for, not only the upcoming month, but also the entire year ahead. Maintain a high level of awareness. Your thoughts and decisions at this time are very significant for the future.
This is an important weekend! Prepare yourself to live it fully and enjoy it immensely.

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question. Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the moon is VOC*.
Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the moon VOC!

*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
