ACCEPT THE INSPIRATION, JOY, AND WARMTH OF THE SUN! LEO RULES A BIT LONGER!

 
 
It never ceases to amaze me how quickly this month of high summer passes. Here we are at the final full week with the Sun in Leo.
During August we are surrounded by the power, heat, and intensity of the sun. We open our eyes and see the full bounty of our world.
 
Sunflowers, goldenrod, and black-eyed-susans brighten the landscape in my part of the world.
 
As we move deeper into August, here in the Northern Hemisphere, we feel the coolness in the breeze and are aware of the change in the angle of the sunlight.
 
We know that Summer is not eternal. Absorb the light and heat of the Sun; you will need it to get through the approaching Seasons!
 
 

 

Monday, August 11, 2014:

 
Monday begins with a very brief VOC* Moon. At 8:54AM EDT the Moon enters Pisces. In the evening the Pisces Moon makes contact with Neptune. Along with the excitement of Fire, you can expect to deal predominately with issues of Pisces today.
Consider astrology as a symbolic language with each symbol offering many layers of meaning. The energies that Pisces and Neptune offer run the gamut from escapism and suffering to transcendent compassion. Consider the ways that you rise above, or sink below the mundane world; find what raises you to a mystical state of spiritual awareness.
On the lowest level this energy seeks escape through drugs, alcohol, or other habitual addictions. On the highest level this same energy brings us to spiritual awakening, or mystical transcendence.
Many would argue that this is escape as well.
In the middle ground between these two extremes there are more common ways to escape the mundane world. You may allow music or poetry to open your heart to inspiration and transcendence of the body.
On Monday it is important to spend time in some allusive, inspired, surreal emotional or mental spaces. Pay attention to your own habits when this energy is strong. However you choose to use it, do it from a place of awareness.
Perhaps today you could find a better way to use this sensitive energy. Open your heart to the selfless service of others.
Ultimately Pisces demands that we use our personal suffering to understand the suffering of others and finally offer our open heart in service and compassion.
 
 

Tuesday, August 12, 2014:

 
On Tuesday Venus enters Leo at 3:23 AM EDT. I am very excited about the middle part of this week!
Between Tuesday morning and Friday afternoon we have a very strong focus in Leo! Mercury, Jupiter, Sun, and now Venus are all in Leo!
On Wednesday we will have more Fire as the Moon will be in Aries. But for now, the Moon is still in Pisces, allowing us to touch this Fire with more sensitivity and less ego attachment!
Venus in Leo brings our attention to love, great generosity, and warm expression. Leo loves love! While Venus is in Leo you will notice a stronger than usual need for attention, love, and adoration.
In your interactions with loved ones, remember, you can’t lay it on too thick!
Consider the depth of your need to be appreciated and admired at this time. Keep in mind that every person you meet has a similar need that is being strongly activated. If you love someone, don’t try to hide it this week.
Expression is everything!
This brings you to a new cycle in love, creativity, and self-expression. Open your eyes, open your heart; allow the powerful heartbeat of love to enter, bringing warmth, comfort, and joy.
 

 

Wednesday, August 13, 2014:

 
On Wednesday with so many planets in Leo we add more Fire to the mix as the Moon enters Aries at 9AM EDT.
Throughout the course of the day the Moon brings heat and passion as she makes Trine aspects to those Leo planets! A trine aspect allows the energies to flow freely! This is a powerful day for the manifestation of love, money or other resources.
The way this lines up on my chart I hope I’ll be smart enough to remember to buy a lottery ticket on Wednesday! Maybe you would remind me!

Your need for attention and appreciation is very high. Again, please keep in mind; show your appreciation, love, and adoration as much as possible! It won’t be too much! If you are being shown appreciation and love, do not resist it; allow it to enter and warm your soul!
If this powerful energy brings a new love, except it for what it is today. Make no demands and hold on with the lightest touch.
 

 

Thursday, August 14, 2014:

 
Thursday brings us an interesting mix of energies. Early in the day the Aries Moon makes uncomfortable contact with both Pluto and Uranus. Perhaps your need for attention and love has brought you to a place of awareness that may be overwhelming or frightening.
You very likely know the dark places your need for love and appreciation can take you. Most of us have been down those dark paths at some point in our lives. Keep some perspective. There is much shifting within our emotional nature at this time. Do not over analyze any of it.
For Thursday sense the comfort of where you are in your current transformation. On this part of your journey there are certain comforts that you know you must release. Perhaps the stress of today is simply reminding you of the difficulties that you will need to face as you move forward. One step in front of the other; transformation occurs.
By evening things feel a lot more workable. Aries Moon trine Leo Sun at 10:23PM EDT. You are clear that you are able to take the steps necessary. Pay attention to your dreams Thursday night.
 
 

Friday, August 15, 2014:

The Moon enters Taurus at 11:58AM EDT where she will remain throughout the weekend. Last weekend may have been highly exciting; this weekend offers steadfast sensual connection.
At 12:43PM EDT Mercury leaves Leo behind to enter Virgo. Mercury pushes forward, heralding the movement of the Sun into Virgo next week. This provides you with a taste of the shift from Leo to Virgo.
You are very familiar with this movement whether you know it or not. Think back to your years of schooling. From kindergarten through graduate school; every year the shift from summer vacation back to school is the shift of the Sun from Leo to Virgo.
You are ready to learn something new, and ready to take life a bit more seriously. Suddenly the stores are overflowing with back to school supplies. We all need new notebooks and pens at this time of year!
Over the coming week we still have the Leo Sun, Jupiter, and Venus to provide plenty of excitement and yet now we begin to look forward to re-engaging with the serious energies of learning and self-growth that Virgo insists upon.
I just love watching the flow of these days, how one energetic shift leads to another. If we watch and work with them we can see our lives unfolding.
 
Mars Sextile Pluto at 5:28 AM EDT; begins the preparation of the new cycle between them which will begin in November 2014.
Pull out your journal or calendars and consider the powerful cycle that began in November 2012 when Mars and Pluto conjunct at 8degrees Capricorn. What seed was planted that grew into a new manner of getting your needs met? This was probably physical and offered a deep transformation of self. This cycle involves the assertive ways that direct our energies. The cycle may have begun with aggression or even violence; it may involve the expression of courage, or the expression of your sexuality.
Once you have identified the seed that was planted at that time, consider the ending of that cycle is upcoming soon; November 2014. A new cycle follows.
While you wait for the new cycle consider how you want to honor its passing and prepare for the upcoming cycle. At this time see what it is offering now.
Focus on transformative action, the power of independence, and the purification of anger and rage. This energy is now presented as an opportunity to move your life forward relentlessly; prepare to release these energies as they have been carried since 2012.
A new dawn is in sight! Long needed assertiveness may be right around that corner; you may be preparing to embrace a new and powerful relationship to your own sexuality.
 

Saturday August 16, 2014:

Saturday offers you a day in the midst of all this fiery excitement to build stability or to simply rest. Absorbing sun on the beach in a lawn chair would be one choice for this day; unless of course you are called to work in the garden or build something solid that will somehow secure your future. Do your best to allow no stress; let the power and warm of the Sun wash over you. There have been so many changes, so many shifts, and so much upheaval in your life this year. For today rest or build without concern: absorb each moment as it comes and let it go.
The evening may bring a sense of restriction or limitation. In order to maintain self-respect and take on the gifts of maturity it is important to take our responsibilities seriously. It would be a good plan to make them a priority Saturday evening.
 
 

Sunday, August 17, 2014:

On Sunday we come to the Third-Quarter Moon in Taurus.
Pay attention to how today’s need for emotional security is at cross-purposes to the playfulness and fun that you want. When the Sun and the Moon are in a square aspect to each other there is a disconnection between what we want and what we need.
At 8:26AM EDT the Taurus Moon squares the Leo Sun. We want to play, throw caution to the wind, and express ourselves with every fiber of our being; yet we also feel a deep need to secure our position, to create or find abiding stabilization for our lives. Consider how to balance this desire with this need. Both are valid; both are necessary. Acknowledge the value of each and understanding that they are not mutually exclusive. Often times we will identify with one and project the other onto a partner or a friend. Clearly understand that these are both a part of your reality and they both have a right to their individual expression.
Following that aspect at 8:26AM EDT the Moon is VOC* until she enters Gemini at 6:41 PM EDT. Plan your evening around this. Have dinner with friends, gather information through others, through books, or watch a documentary this evening! Embrace curiosity and new information. Early Monday morning Venus and Jupiter will conjunct! What a lovely way to start next week! This begins a new cycle of love! More on that next week!

* In these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*

*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
