Notes from My Desk

From my window – foggy rainy day on the coast

I have a few words to share before I begin the daily posts. You can expect these posts to get more concise in the coming months. I have many projects in the works and only so many hours each day.

Jennie and I (AstroPath) are creating a series of short videos to help folks understand what transits are and how to use them. I will let you know when they are published on Youtube. If you don’t already follow us on Youtube, please check out our channel. We are creating content for current lunar cycles, planetary ingresses, and more!

I am also preparing simple workbooks and worksheets intended to make learning basic astrology skills easy and fun. When they are ready I will be selling them on Etsy. I’ll keep you posted and share Astrolore’s Etsy site as soon as it is ready.

The book I started writing in 2019 is never going to make it to print in its current form. It was too dense, advanced, and long to find a large audience. That project was a powerful transition for me. I was able to truly see the extent of all that I have learned in the past 50 years! I am using chapters and sections of that manuscript in creating lessons for my students and the workbooks I mentioned above.

The week begins with the Moon in Virgo. You will want to hit the ground running and get right into the technicalities of whatever job or project is waiting for you. You can’t go wrong if you focus on the details. Clean up your workstation and handle paperwork or household chores. Your level of accomplishment will be important to you at the end of the day.

At 12:22 PM ET Mercury ends its time in aggressive Aries to move into stubborn fixed Taurus. Notice how the conversations around you move from aggravation to focused single-mindedness. Folks are less interested in a war of words as they silently dig in their heels. The result is more important than the fight. Let’s hope that the common sense of Taurus will come to the fore.

At 2:55 PM ET, with both Mercury and Pluto newly in fixed signs they form a challenging square aspect. A bold, extreme, and intense conversation is in the works. Watch how you engage with the cultural upheaval. You may find yourself or others becoming defensive or feeling backed into a corner. Secrets may be revealed and you may come to understand something previously hidden from view.

With the Moon in Virgo today, focus on the practical efforts necessary for positive change. Virgo understands the highest possible outcome in all things and wants to make the necessary changes to get there. This is a time to analyze, refine, and perfect.

Focus on details and common efforts. Set the big outside world aside and pay attention to the minutiae. You can get all kinds of detail-oriented work done while the Moon is in Virgo. Make lists and pin down your plans with others. Set goals, pay the bills, clean your desk, or catch up on housework. You will end the day feeling accomplished if you tackle these things first.

At 5:51 PM ET, the Moon leaves the details behind and enters the pleasing sign of Libra. Spend time with a significant friend or partner this evening. The next few days will highlight relationships, teamwork, and cooperation.

The Moon is in Libra today, asking that we connect with others in search of diplomatic solutions to important issues. When the Moon is in Libra we can see both sides of situations, topics, and conversations. It can be difficult to take a stand or make a decision.

This is a time to listen, learn, and share with an open mind to understanding. Everyone has reasons for their perspectives. Even when we adamantly disagree with the perspective of others we can learn to model the behavior of tolerance and understanding. Listening and sharing with respect is the only hope we have for consensus.

At 12:20 PM ET, Mercury forms a sextile aspect to Saturn clarifying a level of clear thinking and practical judgment. This is a good day for study, research, and catching up on work and business dealings. Long-range plans are seen in a practical light and are likely to be approached with common sense. Serious conversations support the development of practical skills and understanding for the future.

The Libra Full Moon occurs at 16 degrees of Libra at 12:34 AM ET. Adjust the time for your time zone.

Open your eyes and get crystal clear about the state of your social life and your partnerships. Are your intimate relationships supporting you in the way that you need? Do you and your closest confidants support each other’s separate paths forward?

Pay attention to the challenge between your desire for companionship and your need for independence. Any area of your partnerships that is lacking in equality will be evident. Don’t sweep your awareness of inequalities under the rug. Make adjustments necessary.

Each Full Moon is a celebration and a time when something is shown to us clearly. Each full moon brings us to the pinnacle of two overlapping cycles, one that began six months ago at the Libra New Moon (September 25, 2022) and the other that began two weeks ago at the Aries New Moon (March 21, 2023).

Think about what began at those times and the gifts or problems you are receiving from them now. Courageous and diplomatic adjustments may be necessary.

Go to AstroPath’s Youtube channel to watch the video Jennie and I will be making about this Full Moon. We will be posting that on Monday or Tuesday.

At 2:30 AM ET, the moon enters Scorpio bringing your emotional nature into deep areas of contemplation. The next few days will ask that you engage in serious deep emotions. Dig into hidden corners of your unconscious and be honest with yourself about what you find there. Allow your emotions to deepen. Spend the evening with a passionate lover, a powerful and emotional movie, or a deep conversation with your journal.

At 1:57 PM ET Venus forms a sextile aspect to Neptune. This suggests great sensitivity, imaginative awareness, and a hint of confusion. You may find yourself finely in-tune with loved ones, communicating with hardly the need to speak. Don’t set logic aside altogether but you can trust your gut on most things. Sympathy and compassion are highlighted in all your interactions. This also suggests a great time to engage in all types of creative projects. Get out the paints and canvas, paper, scissors, and glue, or whatever medium calls to you. Open yourself to imaginative flights of fancy.

The Moon remains in secretive, sultry Scorpio today. This favors intensity and depth of emotional connection. This is not a position that the Moon particularly likes. The Moon wants to go into tender places.

However, Scorpio resists this due to privacy, self-protection, and vulnerability concerns. It is difficult to show our deepest sensitivities but when we manage to do so we find the power of vulnerability.

If you are unable to go to profound depths with others, time alone may be your best bet.

At 2:28 AM ET, Mercury sextiles Mars. This suggests an opportunity to engage in a conversation that may seem challenging before you begin. Once you get going you should discover that you can articulate your position in a new way.

Engage boldly in the topic at hand. Do not shy away from whatever needs to be discussed. Brainpower and concentration are strong and you will be able to make good progress if you speak and listen.

At 8:56 AM ET, the Moon enters Sagittarius lightening our mood considerably. When the Moon is in Sagittarius we look for inspiration, growth, and adventure. We long to learn something new, travel, expand our horizons, and explore new vistas.

We don’t want to be held back or restricted by responsibilities or expectations. This is a day when we all want to play hooky without having to explain our actions or choices.

This mutable fire sign offers adaptability, ease, and optimism. Share your visions and insights with others over the next few days.

In these weekly reports, I explore the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and give rise to fleeting moods. The aspects under consideration are conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions. The planets I work with are the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
