This is a week of beginnings; The Moon comes back to the beginning of the zodiac after going through the Pisces Full Moon over the weekend. Throughout the course of the week the Moon passes through the first Signs of the Zodiac; Aries, Taurus, Gemini, and begins to push her way into Cancer.
These are the ‘Personal Signs’. Having just ended a week with the Moon going through the ‘Transpersonal Signs’ this brings to our attention our more personal issues. We are more concerned with ourselves than we have been for several weeks.
We may begin the week feeling a pull to embrace the core of our mystical natures. We may encounter a sense of empowerment and ambition, seeking to bringing our dreams to reality. This is a reflection of the Pisces Sun Sextile Pluto in Capricorn. We feel the energy of the upcoming Grand Cross in April intensify.
The week begins with the Moon in the Sign of the Warrior, the Pioneer, the Survivor. We think we are ready to move into action, but Mars’ retrograde motion stops us in our tracks. There is something from our past actions that needs to be handled, healed, or released before moving forward.
Wednesday afternoon Venus leaves Capricorn and enters Aquarius. This signifies a significant shift in our our values and where we place our attention. What area of our lives are we ready to bring more focused intense attention to? Is there something unusual calling us forward, something that will make an impact on our communities or humanity as a whole?
On Saturday the First Quarter Moon is in Gemini The Pisces Sun reflects friction and discomfort in it’s connection with the Gemini Moon. It may prove to be a difficult weekend to determine the best course of action; our needs and our desires may be pulling us in very different directions.
On Thursday Jupiter moves direct, following a retrograde period that began on November 7, 2013. Prepare yourself to embrace more expansion and more auspiciousness in the area of your chart that holds 10° Cancer.
As we move through the week we are adjusting to the many shifts of direction with so many planets changing between direct and retrograde motion!
There is relief with Mercury’s forward motion as our projects and communications move more easily forward. Mars retrograde asks us to look at intense issues from the past regarding anger or how we have engaged with our sexuality. Saturn’s Retrograde gives us time to stabilize where our most ambitious growth has been since last July. Slow down a bit, hold steady, and work with where you are.
A great deal of our energy this week is utilized in adjusting to, and seeking balance with all of this forward and backward motion!
Monday, March 3, 2014:
Starting the week with the Moon in Aries always feels quite appropriate. It is time to get up, dust ourselves off, and plow forward into the routines that make our lives work! There is apt to be some edginess in the morning as the Aries Moon, once again, confronts both Uranus and Pluto. On an emotional level this may feel rough and not easily unworkable. Allow yourself to relax into that emotional state with the awareness that ‘this too shall pass’. Tap into the power of your deepest intuition, your silent inner connection, to ambition and forward growth. As you push ahead there are deep pockets of empowerment, inner strength, and growth available.
Tuesday, March 4, 2014:
Tuesday gets underway with the Moon still in Aries, forming stressful contacts with Mars and Venus early in the day. We may encounter a certain amount of aggravation and frustration regarding relationships during the early afternoon. Ride the wave with focus and allow that energy to pass.
The Moon will be VOC between 12:41PM EST and 2:12 PM EST when the Moon enters Taurus. With so many planet shifting direction this week, the Taurus Moon will feel very calm and stabilizing. A nice evening to have an early supper, get into your PJs and relax with a good book, a loving partner, or a good movie.
Wednesday, March 5, 2014:
The Moon remains in Taurus throughout Wednesday. We are still in the early stages of the current Moon Cycle. It is beneficial not to rush things, to allow our path to follow its natural course. This is a time to research and explore what our upcoming movement will be.
Venus enters Aquarius at 4:03 PM EST bringing a dramatic shift in the expression of our values. We may notice ourselves feeling more available to make less conservative or restrictive decisions regarding the management of our money or our relationships. We are willing to take risks, in the anticipation of bringing ourselves more fully into the image of our future. Venus has been in Capricorn since early November 2013, spending longer in that sign than usual due to the retrograde. Venus will remain in Aquarius until early April; enjoy this time of intensifying and bringing more unusual elements to your personal values and deepest beliefs.
Thursday, March 6, 2014:
At 8:55AM EST the Moon forms her final aspect, (an opposition to Saturn 8:55 AM EST). Is there a responsibility or restriction standing in the way of where you want to go? Following this aspect the Moon is VOC until 9:37AM EST. Our responsibilities or restrictions may weigh heavily on us today. This is a long VOC period with the Moon entering Gemini at 9:37 PM EST. Keep in mind the importance of allowing this day to take its own course without pushing for accomplishment. At 9:37 PM EST, when the Moon enters Gemini our minds awaken and we are able to bring more energy and curiosity to the issues at hand. Because the Moon enters the ‘busy mind’ Sign of Gemini so close to bedtime, you may want to take special precautions to calm your mind down before heading to bed. The activity of your mind could get quite rambunctious, making it difficult to get the sleep you need!
Friday, March 7, 2014:
Friday brings us to an active day of communication, curiosity, and mental exploration. Exploring different ideas and engaging the mind actively will bring you the most satisfactory day. The Moon is in Gemini throughout the day, making contact with Neptune in the morning. Our active exploration of mind may want to engage in softer areas. Explore music, poetry, and other intangible issues that call to you.
This evening the mind sharpens focus considerably as the Moon Sextiles Uranus. Find the more unconventional directions of mind. Meet with folks who have a very different view of the world. Get new perspectives; allow inspiration. Consider ways that individuals and groups of people are bringing exciting innovations to humanity. The world is changing. Seek out what is new, exciting, and unusual. This could be a fun engaging Friday evening! Go out with friends, meet new exciting people; talk, engage, explore ideas, and grow.
Saturday, March 8, 2014:
Saturday is another full day with the Moon in Gemini. At 8:27 AM we reach the First Quarter Phase of the Moon at 17° Gemini. Consider what began on Saturday, March 1st at the New Moon. What new began in your life, your spirituality, your way of being in the world? It will be important for you to take a specific action on what began on March 1st. If you know where 17° Gemini falls in your chart you could get some clues as to what action is now necessary.
At the First Quarter Moon (this is true also for the Third Quarter Moon) the Sun and the Moon are forming a stressful Square between them.
It is likely that your desires and your responsibilities are pulling you in very different directions. Think back to last week at the New Moon. Whatever your aspiration was for this Moon Cycle will direct you to the appropriate action for today. Understanding this should quiet down today’s struggle between the Gemini Moon and the Pisces Moon.
Sunday, March 9, 2014:
At 8:33 AM EST a brief VOC* Moon is complete and the Moon enters Cancer. This is an ideal day to spend with loved ones. If you have none close by, spend the day cooking in order to nurture yourself, or write a letter (a real one with paper and pen) to an elderly relative. This will warm their heart in a manner that no email ever could. A great day to cook with others as well, go out to dinner; sharing love, food and our family histories with those we love will generate a powerful depth of love.
The week ends on a soft note with the loving Cancer Moon making a free-flowing Trine to Neptune. Our imaginations are alive, we feel open and connected to humanity and all sentient beings.
______________________________
* In my weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
