Hang onto your hat!

This is another powerful week as the intensity and emotional temperature shifts as impulsive Mars and the all-powerful Sun leave the sensitive waters of Cancer behind to enter the hot furnace of Leo!

Over the course of the week, Mars and the Sun form challenging square aspects to Uranus, the planet of shocking and revolutionary change.

This is a week of potential wild energies and sudden illuminations. What will be revealed?

Sunday also brings a Leo New Moon, this is a time to plant a seed for enlivening your life with playful generosity and creative self-expression.

All of the VOC* Moon times happen in the wee hours of the mornings, therefore, they will have little, if any, impact. 🙂

Are you up against a difficult decision, or are you questioning your current life, love, or career direction?

An astrological consultation with an open-hearted, competent astrologer will clearly show you the larger picture at play, the universal directional path.

I am taking new clients again and would love to meet with you.

MAINTAIN CALM

Monday, July 17, 2017:

By the time we awake on Monday morning, the Moon is in steadfast, peace-loving Taurus.

At 10:33 AM EDT, Venus, the planet of love and value, forms a square aspect to mystical, dreamy Neptune. When Venus and Neptune come together, regardless of the aspect formed, you are likely to feel dreamy with a lack of focus and ordinary boundaries lose their edge. This can be a romantic and compassionate connection.

The cycle between Venus and Neptune began in the second week of January 2017. What did you begin at that time that now requires you to take a step forward in order for the dream to come into full view by late September? It is unlikely that you will have much time to linger in that inspired romantic space.

In the background, a problematic square aspect between Mars and Uranus has been building, coming to full completion at 9:36 PM EDT. This is an extremely explosive and unpredictable connection.

The cycle between Mars and Uranus which began in late February 2017, is a cycle of defiant action or aggressive independence. Expect the unexpected and anticipate that it will bring with anger, frustration, and even impulsive rage.

Don’t neglect your meditation practice and do what needs to be done to remain an example of calm and comfort to those around you.

GRATITUDE AND JOY

Tuesday, July 18, 2017:

Any damage that occured on Monday should be able to be smoothed over when assertive Mars forms a smooth, flowing trine aspect to Chiron, the planet of healing at 9:22 AM EDT. Look for unanticipated courage to do what must be done to move beyond an unhealed wound or source of shame.

The day only gets better from there. Perhaps, you are able to see the difficulties of Monday as necessary for the shift that needed to occur.

At 4:08 PM EDT, Venus, the planet of love and beauty, forms a flowing trine aspect to Jupiter, the planet of expansion and awareness. This opens your mind to a renewed sense of gratitude and generosity. With the Moon in Taurus, we delight in deep reverence for our lives and are able to fully embrace simple pleasures and joy.

MAKING FUTURE PLANS

Wednesday, July 19, 2017:

Ionian Dancing Girl by John William Godward via Wiki Commons

By the time you wake up on Wednesday morning, the Moon will no longer be in reliable, patient Taurus, as she enters inquisitive Gemini at 3:31 AM EDT. Over the next few days, while the Moon is in Gemini, you are able to articulate your feelings, perhaps, at the expense of actually feeling them.

Adding to the theme of communication, Mercury, the planet of the perceptive mind, forms a flowing trine aspect to stabilizing Saturn at 3:15 PM EDT. Whatever you need to say, you will find an attentive ear and your ability to hear what is spoken gains clarity.

Trust that this is a good time to say what must be said and that you will find the right words and others will listen. This is a perfect time for serious conversations at work or in personal situations. This is also a great afternoon for joining with others to create future plans.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) for a very brief period of time while you sleep, from 2:12 AM EDT until 3:31 AM EDT when she enters Gemini. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

AMP UP THE FIRE

Thursday, July 20, 2017:

At 8:19 AM EDT, assertive Mars joins with Mercury and enters playful exuberant Leo. Mars, the planet of action, has not enjoyed his stay in tender, domestic Cancer where he has been since June 4th. He is delighted to leave the element of emotional Water behind to enter his natural element of active Fire.

We are about to arrive at a much more dynamic part of Summer as the Sun moves into Leo before the end of the week. The height of beautiful Summer (in the Northern Hemisphere) is upon us!

Keep an eye on the underlying developments in our culture as the Sun forms a difficult square aspect to Uranus, the astrological wild card at 8:25 PM EDT! Expect the unexpected. If you have planets between 26 and 30 degrees of any of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn), you can expect some intense excitement or upheaval in your personal life. None of us will escape the intensity of this day, regardless.

Do what you can to maintain stability and calm for yourself and those around you. Meditation, self-care, and kindnesses are key.

JUST A BIT OF NOSTALGIA

Friday, July 21, 2017:

By daybreak on Friday, the Moon has moved into intuitive, moody Cancer. The emotional restlessness of the past few days gives way to a sense of longing for home, family, and domestic safety.

While the Moon is in Cancer, we can become quite nostalgic. You may find yourself taking a trip down memory lane, feeling homesick, or longingly remembering the past. Allow yourself a bit of this sentimentality but don’t get stuck there. Your life exists in the here and now and in all that you create for the future.

The Gemini Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) for a very brief period of time while you sleep, from 1:41 AM EDT until she enters Cancer at 4:10 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DEEP SUMMER – SUN ARRIVES IN LEO!

Saturday, July 22, 2017:

Saturday begins with a cranky Cancer Moon feeling pushed against the wall as she opposes coercive Pluto at 8:50 AM EDT. Please remember that Moon transits pass quickly if you do not engage them with your actions. Sleep late and offer kindness in whatever form is best suited to yourself and those around you. Spending the morning on your own may be your best bet.

Everything changes when the full illumination of the powerful Sun pushes forward into its own sign of Leo at 11:15 AM EDT. As the self-protective energy of Cancer gives way to the extravagant, playful, open-heart generosity of Leo, observe the shift in yourself and others.

During the Sun’s time in Leo (until August 22 when the Sun will enter Virgo), you will be called toward grand gestures and want to be acknowledged for the most unique expressions of your personality. This is the time of year to shine, to show your best side in all things; generosity, performance, and playfulness summon you forward. Enjoy.

LEO NEW MOON – PLANT A SEED OF GENEROSITY AND JOY

Sunday, July 23, 2017:

In the wee hours of Sunday morning, the Moon follows the Sun into creative, proud Leo. With six of the ten major planetary bodies in Fire signs, you will surely feel the heat!

At 5:45 AM EDT, we come to the beginning of a new lunar cycle. The New Moon occurs at 0° Leo. This is the time to plant a seed of creativity, generosity, and full self-expression. Wait and perform your new moon ritual on Monday or Tuesday.

For your Leo New Moon Ritual, set an intention regarding fun, empowerment, and play. This is the perfect time to begin to create an ideal vision of the highest self-expression that calls you forward.

If you know what house in your birth chart holds 0° Leo, it will help you clarify where to direct your dramatic vitality. If you don’t have that information, simply go with your intuition regarding the area of life that is calling for powerful expression.

Please don’t neglect this simple New Moon Ritual. Take a moment to write down what changes you wish to bring to this area of your life.

Have two candles available for the ritual and light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are in this moment. Then light the second candle as an aspiration of what you intend to create. Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle, and when you light the second, focus on drawing to you what you are choosing to create as you bring the two candles closer together. Do this each day and at the Full Moon in two weeks, you will bring them fully together and acknowledge the result of what you have created. Share this ritual with your friends and loved ones. It is more powerful than you may imagine.

Assertive Mars joins with both the Sun and Moon at this time making sure the

Leo the Lion is not in hibernation but in full, roaring glory! Motivation is high and you are unlikely to let anything stand in the way of your desires. Pay attention to kindness and don’t allow assertiveness to enter the realm of arrogance or anger.

The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) for a very brief period of time while you sleep, from 2:05 AM EDT until she enters Leo 4:34 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transits between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: December 19, 2016 through December 25, 2016

You can anticipate a busy week ahead. Of course, you don’t need astrology to tell you that! If you celebrate any of the holidays surrounding this winter season, you will likely have a very long to-do list that you are working hard to manage.

Monday brings us to the beginning of another three-week Mercury retrograde. Get to work right away making a list of everything that has been left undone over the past few months. Over the next three weeks, you can get a lot accomplished if you stick to working from that list!

Mars changes sign on Monday moving from unique, eccentric Aquarius into mystical, sensitive Pisces. Remember, that Mars represents your ability to take action. Mars is not delighted to be in Pisces, although artists, poets, and mystics can move forward delightfully at this time.

On Wednesday, we come to the Winter Solstice, when the Sun leaves the fun of Sagittarius behind to enter the serious, cautious ground of Capricorn.

The Winter Solstice, which occurs when the Earth’s axial tilt is farthest away from the sun, lasts only an instant in time (December 21, 2016 at 5:44 AM EST), and occurs on the shortest day and longest night of the year. The Sun’s daily maximum position in the sky is at the lowest point in the year at this time as well. The seasonal significance of the Winter Solstice is in the reversal of the gradual lengthening of nights and shortening of days. The light will return.

Are you up against a difficult decision, or are you questioning your current life, love, or career direction?

An astrological consultation with Astrolore or Jennie will clearly show you the larger picture at play, the universal directional path.

We are both taking new clients and would love to meet with you.

4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde!

When Mercury turns retrograde, everywhere I turn someone will ask (with trepidation and a touch of fear in their eyes) is Mercury turning retrograde AGAIN??

There is so much unnecessary fear and misinformation around Mercury’s retrograde cycles.

I am going to keep these instructions very simple!

  1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned!

I know that it is easier said than done, but please forget all the terrible things you have heard about Mercury retrograde! There are no astrological conditions that we need to block from ourselves in fear! We simply need to pay attention to the best use of certain times and Mercury retrograde is one of them.

I honestly LOVE Mercury’s retrograde cycle! I feel like I can finally catch up with all the things that have been left undone since the last retrograde cycle!

After years of watching and working with Mercury’s retrograde cycles, I have come to love these brief periods scattered throughout the year. I feel that they are a gift. We simply must know how to use them!

  1. Get a notebook and a pen – Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed in the past few months.

Start with a clean sheet of paper, quiet your mind, and think back over the past few months. On September 22, 2016, Mercury turned direct at 14° Virgo. Since then, he has zipped along through Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and into Capricorn at 15° where he is now turning retrograde.

Think about what you have been doing since late September. Look through your calendar, your notebooks, your bills, wherever you will find reminders of everything that you have been thinking about and working on since then. Now, carefully make a list of all the things that you have begun but not completed. Dig deep; there are probably more things than you are aware of.

What about that appointment you have been meaning to make? The project that you tucked into a drawer because you couldn’t find the time to complete it? Moreover, we all have communications that have fallen through the cracks, unanswered emails, texts, and phone calls!

  1. Get to work! Accomplish what is on this list! Only what is on this list!

Once you have the list made up, it is easy to follow the perfect plan for approximately the next three weeks (Mercury turns direct once again on January 8, 2017).

Get to work, accomplish the things on this list; nothing more, nothing less. That is the whole trick of dealing with Mercury retrograde. Stick with this list!

Our lives are so busy; we zip from one project to another, from one communication to another. We never seem to have the time to slow down and carefully complete the tasks that we have begun.

Mercury retrograde brings us a gift of time to wrap up all those loose ends!

  1. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs!

This is the time for clean up only. Don’t move forward until Mercury turns direct.

If you follow these simple steps, you will be amazed at how much you can accomplish during these periods!

Good Luck and Get to Work!

WORKING WITH MERCURY RETROGRADE

Monday, December 19, 2016:

In the wee hours of Monday morning, Mars, the planet that represents assertive action, enters Pisces, the most passive of the signs. Mars will remain in Pisces until January 27th.  During this time, your usual self-confidence and ability to take action may feel that it has been turned upside down. Rather than courageously pushing forward, you may find yourself slowing down, stepping back and attempting to ‘feel’ your way forward. Pay attention to your dreams and intuitions.

At 5:55 AM EST, Mercury stations retrograde at 15° Capricorn; between the softening of your assertiveness (Mars in Pisces) and the somewhat skewed logical thinking of Mercury retrograde, you may feel a bit lost as you adapt to this new territory. Mercury will remain retrograde until January 8th.

The Moon in Virgo supports practical considerations and encourages you to improve your circumstances by reaching for your potential.

4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde!

  1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned!
  2. Get a notebook and a pen. Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed in the past few months.
  3. Get to work! Accomplish what is on this list! Only what is on this list!
  4. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs!

Mercury retrograde brings us the gift of time to wrap up loose ends!

PARADOX AND COMPLEXITY

Tuesday, December 20, 2016:

On Tuesday, you will continue adjusting to the more passive nature of Mars in Pisces and the more inward mental work of Mercury retrograde. Both of these require considerable adjustment. Take time to absorb and understand the change and the challenge. Slow down your actions and your thinking.

At 8:56 PM EST, the Virgo Moon squares the Sagittarius Sun (Third Quarter Square) suggesting that your internal and external realities seem to be working against each other. On one hand, you may be feeling free and idealistic, and yet, somewhat critical and nitpicky. It is important that you allow contradictions and paradox to exist side-by-side without trying to change either side of the equation.

At 9:39 PM EST, the Moon enters Libra, settling your expectations as you seek equanimity, calm, and a diplomatic sense of your connection to others.

The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:56 PM EST until she enters Libra at 9:39 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

SUN ENTERS CAPRICORN – SERIOUSNESS & INTEGRITY

The Innocent Swan by Elizabeth Sonrel via Wiki Commons

The Innocent Swan by Elizabeth Sonrel via Wiki Commons

Wednesday, December 21, 2016:

The Sun’s movement into Capricorn heralds the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere, the Winter Solstice marks the longest night and shortest day of the year. We encounter late dawn and early sunsets. Meanwhile, the Southern Hemisphere has its longest day and shortest night.

Over the coming weeks, you will see the days get longer; celebrate the return of the light.

As the Sun moves into Capricorn, we enter the most serious time of the year. This is the time to focus on developing maturity and taking seriously our responsibilities and commitments. Capricorn insists that we seek accomplishment; it is important to spend time in solitude to explore and understand how closely you have aligned your life with your highest beliefs and integrity.

The upcoming month is not a time for frivolous activities; focus on accomplishment in order to create your most stable, satisfying future.

WATCH FOR OVEREXTENDING YOURSELF

Thursday, December 22, 2016:

If you have shopping still to do for your holiday celebration, be practical in your spending. With Jupiter joining with the Libra Moon at 1:30 PM EST, you could easily spend more than you intend. The possibility of over extension could show up in your emotional expenditures as well. Watch for over extension in all areas.

This will be a great day for spending time with family or loved ones. Before the Moon goes VOC*, she forms an opposition to Uranus allowing us to make unusual, exciting, or unpredictable connections with others.

By evening, quiet connection with a partner or close friend, will feel satisfying. Remember, you’re still adjusting to the changes of the past few days (Mercury retrograde, Mars entering dreamy Pisces, and the Sun entering ambitious Capricorn). Rest together, with a partner or friend. Some hours of calm quiet rest may be more important than you realize.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:32 PM EST until she enters Scorpio on Friday morning at 9:32 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

MYSTERY AND INTRIGUE

Friday, December 23, 2016:

The rest we required on Thursday evening will serve us well when the Moon enters emotionally penetrating Scorpio at 9:32 AM EST. Throughout the afternoon, this powerful Scorpio Moon engages in harmonious conversations with the Sun and Mars.

The intensity of your emotions can be used for practical purposes. You are powerfully driven to push forward as you approach your deepest desires.

This may be a simple day but the results of connections made may powerfully move your life forward.

There is no need to keep your deepest desires undercover. Allow others to support you and offer support to others, as you each engage in the transformation of your lives. A sense of mystery and intrigue show you are on the right path.

STABILIZE ECCENTRIC PROCLIVITIES

Saturday, December 24, 2016:

Saturday holds a very important transit that presents important keys to the coming months. At 7:20 PM EST, Saturn trine Uranus; this is the first of three ‘hits’ of this aspect. The second will be on May 19, 2017 and the third on November 11, 2017.

This transit brings the defiant, independent, and eccentric, revolutionary energy of Uranus and the stabilizing, responsible, conservative authority of Saturn into a harmonious conversation. Uranus questions the places where Saturn is stuck. Saturn shows Uranus how to bring responsibility and stabilization to revolutionary shocking realities.

Considering how these two energies may support each other in the midst of our current political catastrophe certainly gives us food for thought. Uranus upsets and revolutionizes; Saturn brings maturity and restriction. Keep in mind that this is a harmonious connection. Harmonious for whom, we must ask?  We have no idea what is happening behind the scenes politically; we do know there are powerful energies at work.

Within the context of your personal life, this may show up as you struggle to stabilize your more eccentric proclivities or work to break out of places where you are stuck. Much depends on where this occurs in your chart. If you have personal planets between 18 and 22 of Fire signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius), you are feeling a deep flow on these issues.

LOVE <3

Sunday, December 25, 2016:

It is a delight to find that on Sunday, which so many people are celebrating, provides us with an entire day of the Scorpio Moon VOC*. This enables us to easily relax into a holiday. There is nothing to be done. Enjoy wherever you find yourself. The Scorpio Moon encourages us to stay deeply connected to profound emotions.

Venus, the planet of love, beauty, and sensual pleasures is incredibly active on Sunday. First, she forms a lovely, flowing trine to philosophical Jupiter at 8:22 AM EST allowing your understanding of love and beauty to expand.

When she sextiles Uranus at 11:35 AM EST, she asks you to look outside of your conservative expectations to see unexpected or unusual opportunities that may be presented to create beauty or build on loving connections.

At 1:32 PM EST, she sextiles Saturn offering the possibility of mature stabilization of love. These delightful Venus aspects promise you a delightful day.

Unfortunately, of course, you may have personal transits that override all this pleasure and beauty. Even so, you will feel this; remain open to the enjoyment of it.

As you head into the evening, the Moon enters Sagittarius at 10:19 PM EST, you may want to stay up late enough to spend some time in the expansive emotional energy that comes forward at the time.

Absorb and extend outward to others, all the love that you can muster on Sunday.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:22 AM EST until she enters Sagittarius at 10:19 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 9, 2016 through May 15, 2016

We can anticipate a considerably lighter and easier week!

The week begins with Jupiter turning direct, bringing our renewed understanding of the universe into the open.  Perhaps, it is time to share the wisdom we have learned in the past four months.

Venus forms lovely aspects throughout the week.  Remember, that Venus is currently in Taurus; Venus is delighted to be in her home sign playing happily with others.  She forms a sextile to Neptune on Monday, offering a possibility to reignite a previous dream.  She forms a trine aspect to Jupiter on Tuesday, enlarging our capacity for love, and forms a trine aspect to Pluto on Friday bringing a powerful flow of energy to our deepest values.

These are aspects of empowerment, expansion, and bring imagination to the things in life that mean the most to us: love, resources, and deep values.

Mercury, the planet that manages our thinking and communication skills (and is currently retrograde), also forms positive and helpful aspects this week.  On Thursday, Mercury forms a trine aspect to Pluto empowering our ability to communicate about practical real world issues.  If you have projects that require concentration and focus of the mind, this would be very helpful aspect to support you.  On Friday, Mercury is conjunct Venus, bringing the power of mind to the contemplation of values.

A powerful and lovely week ahead!

INNER WORK BEGINS TO PAY OFF

Monday, May 9, 2016:

Early Monday morning, Jupiter turns direct after having been retrograde since early January of 2016.  What inner work have you done during this time that has resulted in a deeper understanding of yourself and your place in the universe?  Jupiter turning direct suggests that it is time to bring that learning out into the world and test your understanding through interactions with others.  The time and attention you have given to this inner work now begins to pay off.

Venus sextile Neptune at 7:10 AM EDT offers a subtle gentleness to the day; asking us to explore the possibilities available as your consider moving forward with a beautiful dream that began around March 20th.

Don’t make decisions now.  Investigate your options.  There will be more clarity in early June.

The Moon enters Cancer at 12:23 PM EDT and moves our emotions toward home.  Head home early this evening to share a meal with family and loved ones.

At 10:12 AM EDT, the Taurus Sun conjunct retrograde Mercury focusing our attention once again on what is truly of value to us.  This is a time to review your plans with your new understanding of your deepest values in mind.

Rewriting your goals and plans is an ongoing process that you will want to begin now.

WARM GLOW

Tuesday, May 10, 2016:

What a lovely day we can expect on Tuesday!  There seems to be a glow around everything and we feel our hearts expand with love!  At 2:00 PM EDT, Venus forms a trine aspect with Jupiter expanding our hearts and our understanding of deep value and deep love.  The cycle between Venus and Jupiter is the cycle of expanding, growing, and understanding love!  The cycle began in October of 2015, came into its full expression in late March, and now is simply exuding powerful love.  We understand our responsibility and are aware of the choices we make daily to open our hearts and expand love.

Some tension or power struggles may sneak in during the early evening.  This is reflected by the sensitive Cancer Moon’s opposition to Pluto at 6:04 PM EDT.  Remember, Moon aspects are very short-lived.  If you can resist being pulled into the difficult issue, you won’t have to wait too long before you can simply get on with a pleasant evening.  The key is: Don’t take the bait!

WHO DO YOU WANT TO BE?

Wednesday, May 11, 2016:

Fleurs by Simona Estrana via Wiki Commons

Fleurs by Simona Estrana via Wiki Commons

The Moon is very quiet as she moves through the sensitive sign of Cancer on Wednesday, perhaps she is brooding with a bit of nostalgia.  It may be a good day to do a bit of internal work on your emotions, although, I think you’d be better off cooking a meal for friends or bringing food to the homeless person on the corner.

Don’t get stuck in feelings that are not supporting forward motion.

Let me tell you about a practice I began recently that has made a huge difference in my life.  I realized that I was constantly evaluating my ‘feelings’.  “How do I feel this morning?”  “How do I feel about this or that situation?”

We know that our thoughts grow out of this focus on ‘feelings’.  Turn it upside down! Change your words… Instead of asking: “How do I feel in this situation?”  Ask “Who do I want to be in this situation?”  Once you are clear on who you want to be, your feelings can follow that to appropriate action and movement forward.  So simple and it changes everything!

At 5:31 PM EDT, the Moon enters Leo and all that sensitive quiet is upended!  Find a way to express yourself.  Go to a play this evening or get outside and play soccer or tennis with friends.  Show generosity and openhearted love to everyone in your life!  Isn’t that who you want to be?

EMPOWERED MIND

Thursday, May 12, 2016:

With the Moon in warm-hearted, generous Leo, we are able to more easily feel love and connection with others.  With a supportive trine aspect between the Moon and Saturn at 8:30 PM EDT, we feel inspired to bring practical effort to our generosity and kindness.  Perhaps, you are motivated to volunteer at the local soup kitchen or send a check to your favorite charity.

A trine aspect between Mercury and Pluto is exact at 10:45 PM EDT which will impact much of Thursday and into Friday.  Keep your eyes open for hidden information being revealed, intense knowledge coming into focus, or a transformative idea manifesting in your mind.  Allow that knowledge, information, or idea time and space to assimilate.  It is not ready for action yet.

Whatever comes to light now, will help us understand the direction to take following the Mercury retrograde; Mercury turns direct once more on May 22nd.  For now, rest in the empowerment of the mind with more information!

LOVE DEEPLY

Friday, May 13, 2016:

Friday may feel like a roller coaster ride with multiple ups and downs.  We start the morning with the dramatic Leo Moon trine Uranus at 11:03 AM EDT.  Enthusiasm and excitement abounds, and the possibilities seem endless.

However, at 1:03 PM EDT, the Leo Moon squares the Sun in Taurus.  We may feel that we have trapped ourselves on a path we thought we wanted to be on only to discover doubt and obstacles block the way forward.  Consider what you started last Friday at the Taurus New Moon; use the stuck energy of doubt to push yourself to take one decisive action to push that New Moon intention forward.  The extent of the challenge is exacerbated by the retrograde energies from both Mercury and Mars.

At 3:20 PM EDT, Mercury conjuncts Venus offering us a softer perspective and turning our minds to the value of love received and love given.  Even as you let go of the challenges of the early part of the day, the end of Friday leaves us with the powerful statement of Venus trine Pluto (10:20 PM EDT).  This brings deep levels of intimacy and trust front and center.  We understand that the depth of our desire can bring anything to fruition.  Love deeply and allow love to penetrate your heart.

CHOP WOOD – CARRY WATER

Saturday, May 14, 2016:

With the Moon in service-oriented Virgo, we wake up Saturday morning to a very different kind of day.  At 10:28 AM EST, the Moon squares Mars leaving us cranky and not in the mood to deal with ourselves, much less others.  By noon, this will pass and the rest of the day should pass without that concern.

There is a Zen teaching I remember that goes something like this:

Before Enlightenment, chop wood and carry water
After Enlightenment, chop wood and carry water

Keeping this in mind will remind you to be present to all of life.  Refusing to label some parts of your life as good and others as bad will increase your daily pleasure and your joy in life!

EASY FLOW – ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Sunday, May 15, 2016:

Sunday brings us a day with great potential for productivity and accomplishment.  The challenge of a harsh aspect between the Moon and Saturn (5:21 AM EDT) will pass unnoticed, but just to be sure, stay in bed until after 8:32 AM EDT.

As we proceed into the day, the efficient hard working Virgo Moon forms a Grand Trine with Mercury and Venus in Taurus and Pluto in Capricorn.  This offers an easy flow to any projects that require attention to detail and efficiency.  Utilized properly, you could get a ton of work completed this weekend.

Keep your expectations simple by moving with an easy flow.

We are still in the waxing phase of the Moon, so put effort into building on whatever you began at the Taurus New Moon on Friday, May 6th.

Kindness and service to others will come more easily as well, providing a perfect opportunity to develop generosity.  Take a friend out to dinner and show profound generosity to the wait-staff. However, do so with humility and quiet modesty. Otherwise, it simply won’t count!

Sending love to you all.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: February 8, 2016 through February 14, 2016

As I write these posts, week after week, I feel a bit like we are all on a roller coaster. One week we’re up, next week we’re down. Does it feel a bit disorienting? It does to me. And the good news is this week brings a lightness that is greatly welcome after last week’s upheaval.

AQUARIUS NEW MOON – BEAUTY HEALS

Monday, February 8, 2016:

The week begins with the Aquarius New Moon exact at 9:39 AM EST. The New Moon represents new beginnings; it is always significant to pay attention to what you want to create in your life and what new direction is calling you now.

Aquarius is the sign of the revolutionary, the humanitarian, and the eccentric. Now, is the time to take a step forward in the service of humanity. In considering what to begin at this time, make the larger human family your priority. What can you do that will not only support your own life, but will support the motion forward for all of humankind?

Venus is sextile Chiron on Monday as well. Venus speaks of value and beauty; Chiron speaks of the areas we have been wounded and our ability to heal ourselves and others. A sextile between any two planets offers an opportunity or a potential.

Beauty and kindness offer deep healing to the pain within us all. True beauty heals pain. Consider the healing power of creativity, color, and music.

A beautiful bouquet of flowers on your kitchen table makes all of life seem more workable. Never neglect bringing beauty into your home. Never underestimate how beauty can change your life.

A DAY FOR ARTISTS AND MYSTICS

Tuesday, February 9, 2016:

By the time we awake on Tuesday morning, the Moon is in Pisces. Offer your emotions up to your vast, sensitive, interior terrain. Tuesday evening, the Moon connects with Neptune, bringing more of that sensitive open space to mind.

This is a day for artists and mystics! We have our finger on a pulse of internal openness, our boundaries lessen, and our imagination opens.

On Monday, Venus put herself in service of our deepest sense of beauty, now, on Tuesday, this sensitive, imaginative energy directly connects with our ability to take action and reach for a deep personal healing. Today, Mars trines Chiron.

This is a powerful day to go to your most internal, silent spaces and work on the healing that is required for you to live your most authentic life. It is within your true authenticity that you can find joy and be of service to the greater good of everyone you love and everyone you encounter.

EXPAND YOUR SELF WORTH

Wednesday, February 10, 2016:

Wednesday continues with Tuesday’s energy as a day of deep imagination and sensitivity. The Pisces Moon makes many aspects throughout the day suggesting a day of increased activity.

Early on Wednesday morning, Venus forms a trine aspect to Jupiter. This cycle of expanding values, resources, and the expansion of primary love connection began in late October 2015. If you can identify what occurred in late October, you will see that these energies are flowing together now, as they reach toward culmination of a new expanded sense of personal self worth.

When Jupiter and Venus come together, we feel a deep desire for growth and expansion in our intimate relationships and in relationship to our finances. We feel our horizons broaden and we are open to new possibilities for growth. Jupiter expands whatever it touches, so, however you are feeling regarding your relationships and money will increase for better or worse, as Jupiter simply magnifies what is already present.

Take this opportunity to push your life toward an ever increasing, deepening sense of your own value and self-worth.

BRING COURAGE TO FEAR

Thursday, February 11, 2016:

Thursday offers a simple day of action. We are ready to put aside the sensitivity of the past few days and simply push forward with the Moon now in Aries.

While the Moon is in Aries, our instinctual reactions move us forward quickly with an edgy restlessness. This is a day to pay attention to your ability to face your fears and push through those fears with courage and direct motion forward.

If you notice yourself moving out of your comfort zone, you can be certain you are heading in the right direction. Use the spark of momentum underlying this day to push toward the one thing you are most afraid to do.

Once you have taken that step, pushed into that courage, and taken that action you will feel fabulous. You will see yourself as a courageous powerful person capable of taking risks and moving into a place that you were not capable of quite recently. Aries is powerful, strong, independent, and doesn’t take ‘No’ for an answer.

Breathe deeply and face your fear.

RESTLESSNESS MEETS RESISTANCE

Friday, February 12, 2016:

On Friday, the Moon is still in Aries, pushing our instinctual reactions forward. However, Thursday was less complicated, with the issue at hand being direct and clear. Now, the internal edgy restlessness encounters a great resistance. This resistance can result in uncomfortable internal interactions with self and others.
The problem is that Friday the Aries Moon gets tangled up in the struggle between Pluto and Uranus. Once again, it is important to look at the long-range transformation that has been working through your life and the world around you for several years now.

On an emotional level, we are caught between the revolutionary changes we know are urgently needed, and the fear that holds us back from embracing that necessary change and transformation.

As you and those around you struggle with this internal dilemma, it may be a good evening to be very mindful in your planning. This would be a great evening for solo activities particularly if they involve assertively using your physicality.

Use your physical body, engage your strength.

A VISION OF CREATIVITY

Saturday, February 13, 2016:

As you move into Saturday, you will notice an inner relaxation and relief. At 6:36 AM EST, the Moon leaves aggressive Aries behind to enter the stable, sensual domain of Taurus. The Moon loves being in Taurus; on an emotional level she settles into a mellow space. When the Moon is in Taurus, you may want to languish over a good meal, enjoy time in nature, and revere all the benefits of living within a human body.

At 5:42 PM EST, Mercury enters Aquarius! This is my personal favorite placement for Mercury. Mercury represents all issues related to the mind; how we think, what we think about, and how we communicate. Aquarius is the sign of genius; not necessarily an indication of the level of intelligence, but the ability of the mind to travel in unusual ways and unexpected directions.

While Mercury is in Aquarius, (until March 5, 2016), start to gather a team or community that will support you to your highest goals, ideals, and dreams. This is a time of innovation within the context of community. High levels of innovation will not occur within a vacuum! Gather creative, expansive individuals and work together to dream the highest vision of your values and creativity.

At 5:58 PM EST, Mars sextile Jupiter; this suggests an opportunity for energetic expansion. The cycle between Mars and Jupiter began in mid-October of 2015. This is a two-year cycle; a cycle of expanding assertiveness, energy, and possibly your sexuality. Whatever began in mid-October will now take a step forward through curiosity and your own willingness to take the opportunities that presents them selves.

Expect this weekend to offer an opportunity for moving physical energy, sexual or otherwise. Dance, run, ski, do yoga, play! Enjoy!

SEEK & CREATE COMFORT & BEAUTY

Sunday, February 14, 2016:

I love to see a weekend like this one. First, we have stability with an overlay of creative energy on Saturday and then Sunday shows up, offering simplicity and calm. What we are looking for on Sunday above all is comfort. We feel well anchored on the material plane and it is easy to tap into the senses. We find it easier to be patient, and to simply “Be Here Now” without stress.

Taurus is ruled by Venus which connects this energy to our need for beauty and constancy.

On Sunday, it will be so much easier to simply be at peace with yourself.
This is a day to savor living in a human body. Get or give a massage. Delight in providing yourself and your loved ones with comfort, beauty, and a home cooked meal. The Moon in Taurus offers the gift of awareness; pay attention to taste, sights, smells, and touch. Bring reverence to all that you encounter.

Routines comfort us; comfort is the order of the day as our awareness of all of our senses is amplified.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: March 2, 2015 through March 8, 2015

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: March 2, 2015 through March 8, 2015

Welcome to another week!
Here we are finally in the month of March, 2015. I remember back in 2011 looking ahead with trepidation at the time between Summer of 2012 and Spring of 2015.

I remember wondering what that time was going to bring for the world, our culture, and our own personal lives.

Now, we are at the very end of this amazing time. The path we have been on has changed dramatically. It almost feels as though we’ve been lifted up and placed in a whole new world.

Grimm’s Fairy Tales Book Illustration with Rapunzel in Her Tower

We still have one more exact hit of the transit that has rocked our world over these past few years. The final connection between these two planets comes on March 16, 2015 at 9:53 PM EST. Uranus makes her final square to Pluto at that time.

Does this mean that the entire transformation of these last two years is over and things will settle down immediately? No. I do not expect that will be the case.

In thinking back to 1965 and 1966, when these powerful transformative planets came together and began their current cycle, it is clear to me that it took quite a while for the world to settle down following that impact.

As I look back to that time in my own life and at the history of that time, it is clear that everything did not settle down immediately following 1966. Much of the turmoil persisted. Some of the most relevant work of a transit follows the actual impact. The time of rebuilding continues the hard work. As we move forward, we assimilate what has occurred and pull our lives together to manage the change.

The thing with change is that often times the deepest transformation occurs more quietly than we expect; under wraps. Now, the change will begin to manifest in real world situations.

Watch these changes. Do you feel dread or excitement? Please make a conscious choice to choose excitement. This change/transformation is much needed in our world and in ourselves.

Monday, March 2, 2015:

Monday brings us an energized and active Leo Moon. Yes, we are in the middle of profound change. Yes, the amount of change may be deeply unsettling. We have little idea of where we will land. Yet, here in the middle of our uncertainty, right in the middle of not knowing, Monday offers us a view of enthusiastic possibility. You are able to see the potential of excitement on the path forward.

Allow yourself to enjoy the forward motion that you know is required and feel so strongly. We are building powerfully toward the final square between Uranus and Pluto. Utilize the generosity inherent in this day. This will strengthen our resolve as we move in the direction of our chosen path.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015:

Tuesday begins with the Moon VOC* in Leo. The dramatic Leo Moon remains in this non-active resting space until Wednesday morning at 6:58 AM EST. This is a very long VOC* Moon. If you can simply write this day off; hang out, read a book, or visit with friends that would be my top choice for the day! If you are not able to take the full day off, try not to put your effort and attention on anything that you need to amount to much down the road. Nothing much will come from the activities of Tuesday. Work with no expectation! VOC* days can be lovely if you can simply work with the reality of no expectation. We all need a day of rest periodically. At this time, because all the planets are gathered in the early degree of signs we have this situation where the VOC* periods are unusually extended.

However, Tuesday does hold the highly active excitement of Jupiter trine Uranus. The trine aspect suggests a free flowing energy between these two planets. The energy of Uranus carries a strong buzz and brings us new unexpected information and expansion. Jupiter speaks of faith, believe, and enlargement of purpose. Due to the retrograde motions, we encountered this transit in September 2014, and we will see it again in June of 2015. Consider any excitement or expansion that you felt in September. What is the common theme between then and now? Where is it bringing you? How is it changing your life? This transit could open the floodgates of love or money. It could suggest an expansion of an unusual belief system or an encounter with a culture quite different from your own. Enjoy this free flow of excitement. If something presents itself in your life that has the potential to expand your view into the future, run with it!

Wednesday, March 4, 2015:

On Wednesday, the Moon enters Virgo at 6:58 AM EST, ending the VOC* Moon that was with us all day on Tuesday. Thank goodness. Ask: where can I be of service?

Venus steps into a very powerful position Thursday, first forming a trine aspect to Jupiter; on it’s own this aspect

could be expected to expand our capacity for love, relationship, or understanding of our values and beliefs. Right on the heels of this aspect, Venus meets directly with Uranus. This begins a new cycle of unusual expressions and expansion of relationship, love, and personal values. What are you excited about today? Venus also forms a square aspect to Pluto. The Uranus Pluto square, which forms its final connection on March 16th, is activated strongly by our love relationships and our connection to beauty, social discourse, and our personal values. How are you choosing to move forward with what others may not approve of? How is the transformation occurring in our lives informed by our deepest values and the reality of those we love? This is a very significant day. Pay careful attention to the course of your life from where you stand today. The pressure of change within our lives is very powerful at this time. This is true for us individually and for the cultures and world we live in.

Please treat others with deep kindness and respect. Not just those in your tightest circle of friends, coworkers, and family. Add a dose of kindness to those you encounter in more casual circumstances. Consider that everyone you meet is working with some version of highly intense issues. Show compassion and kindness to each human you encounter.

Thursday, March 5, 2015:

The Full Moon in Virgo is exact at 1:06 PM EST! After all of the intensity of Wednesday (certainly still with us), Thursday allows us to focus on straightening up, cleaning house, organizing, and tidying up some of that mess that seems to be everywhere we look.

At 1:37 PM EST, the Virgo Moon forms a trine aspect to Pluto followed by another very long VOC*. (*sigh). The Moon will remain VOC* until Friday at 7:52 PM EST when she enters Libra to bring us a more socially pleasant weekend.

At 7:18 PM EST, the Sun sextile Pluto. Think back to the very first week of 2015. Consider where you felt the need to deeply empower yourself with a major change in your life. Now you are empowered to gather information for taking a major step in that direction. The major step will occur in early April. The full ramification of what you began in January will be clear by the first week of July.

As you consider the cycles, it helps to remember that there are constantly multiple cycles overlapping and working together and against each other in our lives.
Therein lies the complexity of our path.

This particular cycle is one that has the potential of seriously empowering our future; it may require a time of solitude and is more apt to speak to our careers than our personal life. As you gather information on this next step forward, keep your eyes open this week for an opportunity that is significant to the next step. If an opportunity presents itself this week that fits this criteria, say YES!

Friday, March 6, 2015:

Oh my!! I find it a bit painful to look ahead and see another full day with VOC* Moon. As a reminder; VOC* is an acronym for ‘void of course’. This means that the Moon on its course around Earth is making no major aspects to other planets until it enters the next sign. Often, times these periods will only last a few minutes or a few hours. However, when most of the planets are in early degrees of their signs we can have these times where we have very long stretches of VOC* Moon. The difficulty during these times shows up if we are working toward accomplishment or if we want a result from how our time is spent. If we could each take these times for rest, recuperation, and routine activities there would be no problem. If we are trying to get something done that we expect to amount to something, we can feel as though we are spinning our wheels.

Things you don’t want to do during the VOC* moon: have surgery, get married, sign a business deal, begin a project, have an important meeting, or even buy new clothes! The things that you do during these times generally don’t amount to much. They don’t necessarily turn bad; they simply don’t amount to much! Some years ago I had carpal tunnel surgery during a VOC* Moon. You would think I would know better! Maybe it was a test! All that I went through with that surgery and there was absolutely no improvement in the issues with my wrist. Since that time, I’ve watched these VOC* Moon periods far more carefully!

Rest, watch a movie, read a novel, do routine tasks, clean the house!

At 7:52 PM EST, the Moon enters Libra bringing us a lovely Friday evening for socializing, spending the evening quietly with a partner, or creating something of beauty.

Saturday, March 7, 2015:

I hope you all took advantage of Friday evening with the Moon having entered Libra after such a long day with VOC* Moon. The socialization, the time spent with an intimate partner, or the effort you put into creating something of beauty should be extended throughout Saturday.

The best use of this day is to pick and choose from the list I recommended for Friday: socializing with friends, spending intimate times with a partner, or creating art or something of beauty.  Go out to lunch with your friends, stay home and create art, enjoy romantic time with a loved one! Can you imagine a more perfect day?

Yes, I know all of this is resting on the surface. Below this surface level, we are building so closely to that Uranus Pluto square. None of it is really as perfect or simple as we would like; there are intense undercurrents. Nevertheless creating art and spending time with loved ones and friends is the best prescription for this day. As the evening winds down, it may be best to head to sleep early, and reminder of that intensity is at hand. Enjoy what is good and positive about this day. Be kind. Be patient.

Sunday March 8, 2015:

If you went to bed early enough on Saturday night, you may have missed the intensity bubbling up beneath the surface. Sleep late on Sunday and perhaps you can play-out a good amount of that intensity in your dreams!

As the Moon moves through Libra on Sunday, she opposes Uranus and squares Pluto. This activates the intense power dynamics and demand for change between them. We are reminded of the seething cauldron below the surface of our world, our cultures, and our own personal lives. As we move further into the day, the energy will ease up and lighten.

Please remember it is always best to look our demons clearly in the eye. When we get to know and appreciate the darkness, we realize we can see better than we expected.

Two practices that will help immeasurably at this: Meditation and Kindness.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the Moon VOC*!

Tuesday, March 3, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Leo) following an opposition to Mercury at 3:48 AM EST and ending when the Moon enters Virgo on Wednesday, March 4 at 6:58 AM EST.

Thursday, March 5, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Virgo) following a trine to Pluto at 1:37 PM EST and ending when the Moon enters Libra on Friday March 6, 2015 at 7:52 PM EST.
