UNUSUAL SURPRISES
Monday, August 8, 2016:
I just love the looks of this Monday morning. With the Moon in Libra and the Sun in Leo, this is a delightful combination! As much attention and adoration as the Leo Sun can ask for, the Libra Moon willingly gives. These two support each other delightfully with playfulness and romance.
At 1:42 PM EDT, the Libra Moon opposes Uranus throwing a wild card into the mix. Depending on your own sensibilities and astrological makeup, this is the day of grand excitement or profound anxiety. Unexpected news and unusual surprises could come to light.
* It is also my birthday! Happy Birthday dear Astrolore!*
The Moon is VOC* from 1:42 PM EDT until she enters Scorpio in the early hours of Tuesday morning. Remember, there will be no result from anything that is begun during a VOC* Moon. This is neutral, not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant impact.

INTROSPECTION THROUGH LOVE OR ART
Tuesday, August 9, 2016:
On Tuesday, we head into deeper waters with the Moon in Scorpio encouraging us to look under the surface and hide from nothing. Yes, Scorpio has a bad rap, but we must question that and ask ourselves: where would we be without the deep introspection Scorpio calls for?
Anytime Scorpio speaks to us, we need to remember the importance of deep internal exploration. If we choose not to look deeply into our internal processes, we live with anxiety; if we look too deeply, we live with depression. Finding the balance between these two extremes is crucial.
On Tuesday, the intense Scorpio Moon makes lovely aspects to both Venus and Neptune. We are deeply sensitive, compassionate, and aware of the needs of others. This encourages us to meet introspection with an open heart and explore our inner depths through love and sexuality, or creativity and art.

EXPRESS VULNERABILITY

Wednesday, August 10, 2016:
Wednesday begins with a continuation of the introspection and sensitivity that we experienced on Tuesday. At 2:21 PM EDT, we come to the First Quarter Square of the Lunar Cycle. Whatever seed you planted for your New Moon ritual on August 2nd, now requires direct and concrete action.
Considering the intensity inherent in the two fixed signs involved (Moon in Scorpio, Sun in Leo) we must understand the requirement is in trusting our most private internal truth to outwardly expression. Who do you trust to see your inner life?
At 7:24 PM EDT, Mercury forms a free-flowing trine aspect to Pluto. Our words hold powerful transformative possibilities.
We are still in the waxing phase of the Moon; consider that you are building something to sustain the future. Express what needs to be expressed, do not hold back.  Allow yourself to experience the power of vulnerability.

DANCE… DANCE.. DANCE…
Thursday, August 11, 2016:
In the wee hours of the morning (1:22 AM EDT), the Scorpio Moon forms a sextile to Jupiter. Our dreams may be powerful and expansive but by the time we wake up the day moves at a slow pace until she enters Sagittarius at 1:24 PM EDT.
At this point, the energy shifts into high gear as our deep feelings come out of contemplation and into expansive awareness of the bigger picture. At 9:05 PM EDT, the Moon conjunct Mars making it difficult to settle down to an early night’s sleep. Don’t even try. I know it’s a Thursday night but this is a delightful evening to go out dancing. That’s my recommendation, pure and simple: Dance… Dance… Dance
If you don’t want to go out, that’s fine! Turn your living room or even your kitchen into a dance floor!
The Moon is VOC* from 1:22 AM EDT until she enters Sagittarius at 1:24 PM EDT. Remember, there will be no result from anything that is begun during a VOC* Moon. This is neutral, not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant impact.

RELEASE JUDGEMENT
Friday, August 12, 2016:
I do hope you enjoyed the pleasures of Thursday night! I hope you went dancing just as I recommended,
Unfortunately, with the Moon conjunct Saturn at 8:52 AM EDT you may not feel so great on Friday morning. Perhaps, you didn’t get enough sleep or are experiencing other repercussions from so much fun. What are you learning that will support you in future late night adventures? If the ‘fun/ pleasure’ is truly important, you can learn to accept the consequences and/or take measures that will mitigate those consequences. If it is not important, you go home and to bed early! It is not rocket science. Learn from your mis-steps and you will be delighted to have had them.
Several hours later, at 11:39 AM EDT, the Moon squares Neptune reminding us of the ongoing square between Saturn and Neptune and it’s power of disruption.
The final of three exact ‘hits’ of this aspect occurs on September 10, 2016. Whatever your experience is of this planetary struggle, you will be reminded of it on Friday. This may show up in your life as issues of compassion vs. selfishness, confusion vs. determination, dreams vs. reality, sensitivity vs. control.
It is easy to see how this is playing out in the political and social arena and on the world stage. Where is it playing out in your personal circumstances? In our personal lives and in the culture, seeking balance and expressing kindness is key.
At 7:59 PM EDT, Jupiter opposes Chiron showing us the importance of acceptance and openhearted compassion. The cycle between Jupiter and Chiron began in 2009. Did your understanding of your inner wound come into view or expand at that time?
Now, in mid-August 2016, you are able to see where that understanding has manifested in your life. Consider any fears and self-judgment you have brought with you from that time. Bring those fears to a mystical space.
When you clearly see your own intolerance, prejudice, and racism. you can begin the hard work of unraveling it. We must look at reality in order to make it better. We cannot fix a problem we cannot face. Yes, we are beginning to see. That is my hope and what I see reflected in this powerful day.

MOVING FORWARD; FACING REALITY
Saturday August 13, 2016:
Having been retrograde since March 25th, Saturn stations direct on Saturday at 5:50 AM EDT. Consider what Saturn represents and remember that each planet has a positive side and a more challenging side. Think about Saturn as the heavy hand of reality. Restriction, responsibility, and duty are represented here as well as self-respect, self-determination, solitude, and the ability to build stable structures. When we work well with Saturn, we receive her gifts. As time passes, we learn how to work with these energies more easily and our lives reflect that ease.  When we fight against Saturn, our lives contract and crystallize into structures of limitation and restriction. During the times when Saturn is retrograde, we consider our responsibilities and refrain from taking on new ones.
With Saturn now turning direct, we are ready to look clearly at our circumstances and prepare to build more stable structures and take on responsibilities that will support future growth.
At 10:30 AM EDT, Venus square Saturn suggesting the importance of working with challenges in your personal relationships and in your financial circumstances. The cycle between Saturn and Venus is a cycle of strengthening relationships and personal values. It is the cycle of responsibility and learning through love and/or money. This cycle began in early January. What seed did you plant at that time regarding love or personal value? On June 3rd, you were able to see how far you had come in this regard. Now, it is time to release the expectations you have built in order to prepare for a deepening sense of responsibility toward relationship or money at the end of October.
For now, be clear of the reality of your love life and your bank balance.
The Moon is VOC* from 1:36 PM EDT until she enters Capricorn in the early hours of Sunday morning. Remember, there will be no result from anything that is begun during a VOC* Moon. This is neutral, not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant impact.

BALANCE REALITY & INTUITION
Sunday, August 14, 2016:
Shortly after midnight, the Moon enters stable Capricorn bringing the seriousness of Saturday along into Sunday. However, very different energy is asking us to look at it. At 1:03 PM EDT, Venus opposes Neptune reminding us of a dream that began on March 20, 2016 (give or take a few days).
Perhaps you began an art project, a meditation practice, or a love affair. Whatever began at that time required that you take action to move it forward in the first few days of June. Now, we are encouraged to look clearly at how far that dream has come and how well the seed has grown. We are able to look at our love and our values within a mystical light.
Venus is reflecting to us the current square between serious Saturn and mystical Neptune. This is not easy.  On the one hand, we are looking at reality and structure (Saturn); on the other hand we are looking at confusion or mysticism (Neptune). How do we work with both sides of this equation in both our romantic love relationships and our relationship with money and resources?
It is important that make the effort to balance reality and intuition. It is important that we allow our lives to not fully make sense at this time. It is important that we bring both poetry and hard work to all that we do. Even as you create structure in your relationship, read poetry together, get lost in music, explore the mystical side of love, and explore the mystical soft side of life. Find balance, release expectations.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, textiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.

Yes, it is true I live in Vermont, I don’t live in the south where it’s 100+ degrees on these summer days.
I believe that it is important to absorb as much heat as I can in August in order to get through the cold of February. Join me in celebrating these warm summer days of August, and don’t forget to have a bonfire in honor of my birthday!

ACTIVITY – EXCITEMENT – STABILIZATION
Monday, August 1, 2016:
Monday is a day of excitement, activity, and stabilization, a very active day! You may wonder where to put your energy and your emotions.
Shortly after midnight while we still slept, Venus, the planet that represents our deepest values, love, relationships, and resources forms a trine aspect to Uranus. The energy created is progressive, exciting, and requires no sleep!
This cycle began in late April (a cycle that brings innovation to our understanding of relationships and money) an action was taken on its behalf in early July, now the energy flows freely. The full results will be clear in mid-September.
At 1:49 PM EDT, the dramatic Leo Sun forms a free flowing trine aspect to steadfast Saturn. This settles us, stabilizes us, and allows the sensitive Cancer Moon to feel safe and loved.
The Moon is VOC* for a very brief time between 8:44 PM EDT and 9:12 PM EDT when she enters Leo. Anticipate a little playful fun before sleep. Remember, there will be no result from anything that is begun during a VOC* Moon. This is neutral, and simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have an impact of any significance.

MARS LIGHTENS UP- GENEROSITY & PLAY WITH THE LEO NEW MOON
Tuesday, August 2, 2016:
On Tuesday, Mars says farewell to the deep, intense emotion of Scorpio and enters the light explorative energy of Sagittarius. What a relief!
In early January, Mars entered Scorpio. He normally spends approximately two months in any particular sign. However, due to his retrograde cycle, he entered Sagittarius in early March, and then retraced his steps back into Scorpio at the end of May.
Now, we can embrace the explorative, passionate side of masculinity and more easily release toxic masculinity in our world and within each of us. We have learned much. As a species and as a culture, I hope we are leaving behind our unconscious acceptance of that toxic energy.
The New Moon is exact at 4:45 PM EDT as the Sun and Moon conjunct at 10° Leo.  At this time, we see no Moon at all. If you are able to get away from the lights of civilization and look into the heavens, it will be so dark you will see every star in the sky. As the Sun and Moon come together, we are reminded of the power in the Universe.
Don’t neglect a simple New Moon ritual on Tuesday evening or Wednesday. You will want to complete the ritual after the exact time of the New Moon and within 24 hours.  The dramatic Leo New Moon is ideal for planting seeds of generosity, love, and playfulness or for telling the Universe you are awaiting a child or a lover.
Take a moment to write down what you wish to create for the upcoming cycle.  Have two candles available; light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are at this moment in time. Light the second candle as an aspiration of what you want to create.
Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle.  As you light the second candle, focus on drawing to you what you desire as you bring the two candles closer together.  At the Full Moon in two weeks, bring them fully together and see the results of what you have created.
Embrace the dark and allow growth.

SAY YES
Wednesday, August 3, 2016:
If you are a person who loves summer, don’t go to work on Wednesday! This is a day to take off for purposes of sheer enjoyment.
I know the world is in the midst of its share of struggles and yet, we can’t put our heads in the sand. Remember to have fun along the way. Yes, right in the middle of the rough points in our lives, those times that are consumed in deep struggle, still… stop to smell the roses, seek beauty, and play. Find sweet places of joy that call you to life and follow them. Wednesday, listen for the call.
At 5:23 PM EDT, the dramatic Leo Moon forms a free-flowing trine aspect to Uranus, the planet of innovation and sudden change. Expect the unexpected on Wednesday evening. You may be invited to an event or a gathering. Say yes.
Enjoy the company of like-minded community; add your intelligence, strength, and energy to the mix. There is revolution in the air. Caution is not a reasonable position.

ATTENTION TO DETAILS
Thursday, August 4, 2016:
By the time we awake on Thursday morning, the Moon is in Virgo cooling us off (metaphorically speaking) after the heat of Wednesday. This is a day for accomplishment as our attention turns to the details that must be managed. In the late afternoon, the meticulous Virgo Moon conjuncts with Mercury enabling us to manage meticulous details and accomplish practical tasks. Please give yourself credit for all that you get done.
At 10:02 PM EDT, you may struggle with self-criticism and have a hard time seeing your accomplishments. Practice self-compassion and kindness. Look outside of yourself and see the bigger picture.
The Moon is VOC* for a brief time while we sleep between 12:13 AM EDT and when she enters Virgo at 3:34 AM EDT. Remember, there will be no result from anything that is begun during a VOC* Moon. This is not good, and not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have an impact of any significance.

CONSIDER YOUR SERVICE TO THE HIGHER GOOD
Friday, August 5, 2016:
Friday begins with a sense of stability and empowerment as the Virgo Moon forms a free-flowing trine aspect at 8:54 AM EDT. This day has the potential of being highly productive. Plan that productivity early and stick with the plan.
At 11:26 AM EDT, Venus enters dependable hard-working Virgo encouraging us to hold a very high standard on what we are accomplishing. Our values and relationships may need to be meticulously analyzed.
At 11:21 PM EDT. the Moon, still in Virgo, conjunct Jupiter increasing our desire to perfect something significant within ourselves as a service to the higher good. Because this aspect happens after bedtime, your dreams may give clues that are significant for you at this time.
The Moon is VOC* beginning at 11:21 PM EDT and ending on Saturday at 12:57 PM EDT. Remember, there will be no result from anything that is begun during a VOC* Moon. This is neutral, not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have an impact of any significance.

COMMUNICATION – TENSION – LUST
Saturday, August 6, 2016:
Pay attention to how you may be trying have ”perfect” conversation or how you are trying to please another person by saying what they want to hear. It is important to not worry about the responses of others when you need to be honest and say what is true for you.
At 9:17 AM EDT, Mercury square Saturn lets us know that we must work on our communication skills. Towards the end of November 2015, the cycle between Mercury and Saturn began. This is a cycle of deepening our commitment to authentic communication based on integrity. That cycle came to full illumination on June 20th giving us a full view of how we have developed this issue during this time, where have our choices landed us?
Now, at the Last Quarter Square of this cycle (Mercury – Saturn) we are asked to fully understand the process and what we have learned from it. It is time to practice what we have learned, making it a part of how communication works for us now. We will practice communicating within these parameters until we begin the new cycle between Mercury and Saturn in late November of 2016.
At 12:57 PM EDT, the Moon enters Libra relaxing the anxiety around communication, as we are more willing to see the other side of the issue. Given the sextile between the Moon and Mars at 4:07 PM EDT, we may want to consider a different manner of communication. Connecting sexually as a way to manage perceived conflict could be highly beneficial.
With a square aspect between Venus and Mars (exact at 8:19 PM EDT), this could bring a battle between contrasting perspectives or it could create just the right amount of tension to release into naked time together.
Saturday begins with the Moon VOC* until she enters Libra at 12:57 PM EDT. Remember, there will be no result from anything that is begun during a VOC* Moon. This is neutral, not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have an impact of any significance.

ALLOW THE MIND TO FLOAT UNTETHERED
Sunday, August 7, 2016:
If we played our cards right on Saturday evening, we should start the morning with the Libra Moon sextile Saturn bringing harmony and stability to our emotional connections.
The remainder of the day is most strongly impacted by the opposition between Mercury and Neptune. Your experience of this transit will be determined by how you managed the challenges of Saturday.  It will also be determined by what you set in motion back in mid-March 2016.
You may experience great mental confusion, connection to imagination, or renewed commitment to a significant meditation practice. This is not the day to make decisions between various options in your current circumstances. You simply do not have the clarity to choose wisely.
This may feel frustrating when the Moon squares Pluto at 7:39 PM EDT. Don’t hold onto the frustration, as this is a quickly passing Moon transit.  At 8:29 PM EDT, the Libra Moon sexiles the Leo Sun offering a lovely connection that can last throughout the night.

Contemplation for the week:
“Life is glorious, but life is also wretched. It is both. Appreciating the gloriousness inspires us, encourages us, cheers us up, gives us a bigger perspective, energizes us. We feel connected. But if that’s all that’s happening, we get arrogant and start to look down on others, and there is a sense of making ourselves a big deal and being really serious about it, wanting it to be like that forever. The gloriousness becomes tinged by craving and addiction. On the other hand, wretchedness–life’s painful aspect–softens us up considerably. Knowing pain is a very important ingredient of being there for another person. When you are feeling a lot of grief, you can look right into somebody’s eyes because you feel you haven’t got anything to lose–you’re just there. The wretchedness humbles us and softens us, but if we were only wretched, we would all just go down the tubes. We’d be so depressed, discouraged, and hopeless that we wouldn’t have enough energy to eat an apple. Gloriousness and wretchedness need each other. One inspires us, the other softens us. They go together.” ~ Pema Chodron

CREATE VALUE
Monday, November 2, 2015:
Last week, the Sun entered Scorpio and this Monday, our thinking catches up. We all understand the feeling sense of Scorpio. It is an energy that we can’t miss and we all recognize. We often associate it with stories from our childhood; I dare say most of those stories probably occurred in late October or November.
Do you remember the time your friend enticed you into the graveyard after dark? Regardless of the fear, the intensity called you forward. I’m sure you have experienced a wave of fear washing over you, even as intense emotion holds you riveted to the spot. Scorpio is the inability to look away when something too scary or horrifying is before you.
At 2:06 AM EST, Mercury leaves Libra behind to enter Scorpio. This brings our thoughts and communications into this same place of intensity and darkness. We are less interested in making things look good; we are less available for ‘small talk’. We must get to the deepest core of the topic at hand.
The Moon in Leo struggles to keep things playful but may resort to less positive points of dramatic creativity!
Monday evening, Venus and Mars come together in the last of a series of three transits since last February. (Due to Venus’ retrograde during last summer). This aspect often reflects our push toward ‘capital R’ relationships.
There are other ways these two planets join together. Remember, that Mars energizes Venus while Venus softens Mars. Consider not only the masculine and feminine principles but also Venus as your values, money, and resources and Mars as the assertive push toward what is desired.
We begin a new cycle here, be it in the realm of energizing love or assertively creating something of value.
“At some point you must realize that some people can stay in your heart, but not in your life.” ~ Unknown

PRACTICE RELEASING
Tuesday, November 3, 2015:
Tuesday begins with the stress of the Sun square Moon. This is the Third Quarter Moon phase, representing the need to let go of something we had hoped would last longer than it has. This probably does not represent an issue of long standing, rather it is something more immediate.
What began at the New Moon three weeks ago, that came into full view last Tuesday? That is the thing to release.
Sometimes, the stress of this square can try to persuade you into thinking that there is something more significant to release. In a few days, you can look more deeply into that, but for now you are asked to release something with a smaller footprint in your life. This is practice for the bigger release that is coming.
Today’s Leo Moon is not in her happy-go-lucky expressive guise. When she comes out to play and finds that the Sun is in Scorpio, her fire is dashed with icy waters.
These are two fixed signs with very clear ideas of how life should be lived. Leo wants to play and be loudly expressive; Scorpio wants to dig deep and discover in silence and privacy. They do not play well together.
Keep this in mind as you go about your day and allow space for both of these energies to live within the day. Be patient with others as we are all dealing with the stress between these two very powerful signs.
“Confidence is preparation. Everything else is beyond your control.” ~ Richard Kline

EXPAND & STIMULATE YOUR MIND
Wednesday, November 4, 2015:
Wednesday brings us another full day with the Moon VOC*! The VOC* period is the time between when the Moon makes her final aspect in one sign and when she enters the next sign. The general feel for the time will reflect the energy of her final aspect.
Tuesday at 8:47 PM EST, the Moon made her final aspect in Leo, along with a trine to Uranus, so that will be the energy that we hold until the Moon enters Virgo at 9:23 PM EST.
I would expect an intellectually stimulating day but probably not a great day for accomplishment. Stick with routine tasks along with exciting mental explorations.
What routine tasks do you need to get done? Filing paperwork, mindless forms that need to be filled out, cleaning house, or laundry? Combine those types of jobs with filling your mind with information that is stimulating and exciting. Listen to podcasts or an audio book. Perfect solution!
Conversations can enrich and expand your mind but won’t result in anything tangible over time. Remember that when settling on a topic to listen or talk about!
“You’ll never know who you are unless you shed who you pretend to be.” ~ Vironika Tugaleva

ACCOMPLISHMENT AND CLARITY
Thursday, November 5, 2015:
The Moon in Virgo certainly wants us to get to work on Thursday. That long VOC* period on Wednesday may have delayed progress, fueling our need to get a great deal accomplished on Thursday. Prepare yourself to be surprised by how smoothly work can go, how much you can get done by the end of the day, and how much you can enjoy the process as well.
Shortly before midnight, the Sun makes a sextile aspect to Pluto. This heralds your gaining clarity of the circumstances surrounding a powerful transformation that began last January 2015. Now, you get clear about what needs to be released.
For now, simply investigate your options, be curious about the new cycle of empowering and transforming your core that will being in January 2016, and begin to dream your future.
Take a chance; ask others what it is they are releasing for a new vision of their future? The question will take them by surprise; they will be delighted with the opportunity to share. Share how that conversation plays out, leave a note here.
“You must learn to let go. Release the stress. You were never in control anyway.” ~ Steve Maraboli

SHARE WHAT YOU’VE LEARNED
Friday, November 6, 2015:
In keeping with Thursday’s theme of ‘release to prepare for a new cycle’, on Friday your mind turns to the dream that began in March 2015. The powerful internal transformation that began in January 2015 likely pulled you into a dream that began in March.
Perhaps, you lost clarity. In retrospect, you see that things were simply not as you imagined them to be. Now, you can see clearly what needs to be released and are able to articulate how this process has changed you.
How have your dreams and realities played out in this process? How has your life changed irrevocably? What can you bring from this situation into your life to support your future and be of service to others?
You have learned more than you imagine. Allow yourself to share what you have learned.
Faith is taking the first step even when you don’t see the whole staircase.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.

SATURDAY EVENING SEEK BEAUTY AND PLEASURE
Saturday, November 7, 2015:
Saturday begins with the Moon still in Virgo. Following a brief VOC* between 7:48 AM EST and 10:15 AM EST, she enters Libra.
Take advantage of Saturday being the final day with Venus in Virgo to get some organization or detailed work done. By next week, you will have less energy available for those cleaning and organizing projects, as they will simply seem much less important.
Saturday evening will be good for social engagements, dinner parties, and art shows. This is not the evening for a wild party or an evening alone. Seek cultured environments of beauty and pleasure.
“Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow.” ~ Melody Beattie

HOLD OPPOSING POINTS OF AWARENESS
Sunday, November 8, 2015:
A slow start seems a good idea for Sunday. Although, being that this is the best part of the day, utilize it more actively if you have some connection to make that needs a lighter touch.
Venus enters Libra at 10:30 AM EST bringing your attention away from details and perfectionism. While Venus is in Libra, (until December 5th), you are encouraged to be more aware of the significance of your partnerships and the beauty you are able to create in the world and your life.
During this time, consider what you see as valuable and beautiful in your life and your values. Venus loves being in Libra where she feels so at home, creating beauty, love, and partnership. Enjoy her time here in her home sign.
The afternoon and evening may bring a certain amount of stress or discord as the Moon makes challenging aspects to both Pluto and Uranus. There may be some internal discord as you not only feel the deep value of partnership but also need space and autonomy. Both are equally valid; we can be aware and feel both deeply at the same time.
Learning to hold opposing points of awareness at the same time is a valuable skill indeed.
“Wisdom is merely the movement from fighting life to embracing it.”~ Rasheed Ogunlaru

This week: The VOC* Moon!
VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!
Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!
If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Contemplation for the week:
“…feelings like disappointment, embarrassment, irritation, resentment, anger, jealousy, and fear, instead of being bad news, are actually very clear moments that teach us where it is that we’re holding back. They teach us to perk up and lean in when we feel we’d rather collapse and back away. They’re like messengers that show us, with terrifying clarity, exactly where we’re stuck. This very moment is the perfect teacher, and, lucky for us, it’s with us wherever we are.” ~Pema Chodron

One thing that surprised me when I looked at this week is that suddenly we are having very long Void of Course (VOC*) Moon times. This is caused by the majority of planets being in early degree of their signs. Remember, that the VOC* Moon is the period of time following the final major degree the Moon forms in one sign until it enters the following sign.
Each week below the daily forecasts I list the exact times when the Moon is VOC* and a bit of an explanation about what that means. During these periods, it is best to keep your attention on routine tasks. The way to think about it is that anything you begin during the VOC* Moon is not going to amount to very much. Keeping that simple thought in mind should keep you on track.
Another thing I’d like to bring to your attention is the upcoming square between Saturn and Neptune. The dates of the exact square aspects between them are November 26, 2015; June 17, 2016; and September 10, 2016. This quickly approaching aspect is going to profoundly color the coming year.
Think about the way these two planets function; consider how they will challenge each other, our personal lives, and the world. Saturn represents structure, controls, and containment while Neptune represents the dissolving of barriers. This aspect will occur between 7° and 12° of mutable signs (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces).
For now, I want you to simply think about how these planets will work together in your own life and in the world at large. We will be having more conversation about this aspect in the coming weeks.

KEEP NOSTALGIA AT BAY
Monday, October 5, 2015:
If only we could all take the day off on Monday.
The Cancer Moon focuses our attention on domestic and emotional issues. How nice would it be to stay home today, make a pot of soup and sort through old love letters or photo albums? There is likely to be a soft internal spot within you that likes that idea.
However, nostalgia, as easy as it would be to engage in, is not the place to put your energy. The Cancer Moon likes to pull us deep into the heart of the past; the ghosts of the past easily call to us. Keep in mind that nostalgia tends to have a poor memory and a deeply active imagination.
When we are in the grip of nostalgia, there is little room for reality. Our rose-colored glasses are firmly in place. When that sense of nostalgia tries to worm its way into your thinking, take some steps to move into the present time. Use that warm internal soft space to make contact with love exactly where you are at this point in time.
Create a day that you can look back on with gratitude. Allow the vulnerability of your own heart to be open in all your encounters.
The Cancer Moon is VOC* following a square to Uranus at 7:05 AM EDT. Whatever activities you engage in will not ultimately have a huge impact. Practice kindness and simplicity.
“What makes you vulnerable makes you beautiful.” ~Brene Brown

DREAMS AND TRANSFORMATION
Tuesday, October 6, 2015:
The Moon has entered Leo by the time we begin Tuesday, leaving behind the emotional turmoil of Monday.
Tuesday is an active day with the Sun square Pluto, Mercury sextile Saturn, and Mars opposing Neptune.
On January 3, 2015, the Sun and Pluto began their annual cycle of inner transformation. During the same month, Mars and Neptune came together. What grand transformation began last January and what dream was intimately connected with that transformation?
What actions were taken on that issue in early April and late May? By early July, it was probably crystal clear how successful this transformation had been in bringing your life where you were hoping to go.
Now, you are at a point of clarity regarding that transformation. Now, it is time to assimilate what you have learned. A new cycle of intense transformation will begin in early January 2016.
You will be powerfully called to look back and explore what you began in January. How have you managed these powerful life shifts? How can you adjust where you now find yourself? The powerful transformation along with the passionate dream that began in January 2015 has brought you along a particular path. It may feel that it was the wrong path, or you may better understand that it was the only path truly available to you given all the considerations. Everyone’s experience will differ.
Many of us began a process of major transformation without enough clarity to support our direction. It may feel very clear that you took the wrong path. At this time, it is clear if we made a mistake. Did we begin to walk the path better left untrodden? It may feel that way.
Please remember the story continues and we get to choose how we write that story. Regret has no worthwhile purpose; it only weakens our ability to move forward. No matter what mistake you may think you made, there are lessons that you are learning and gifts that you have given along the way. Hold your head up and understand that in order to live a wholehearted life, mistakes are a very necessary part of the ride.
Saturn sextile Mercury offers us an opportunity to see these larger cycles from a more practical perspective. We are able to see and utilize the growth and deepening of our own understanding that these intense energies have brought us.

PLAY OR REST; SIMPLY INDULGE
Wednesday, October 7, 2015:
Tuesday’s intense need to look back will certainly still be in the air on Wednesday, but remember, the Moon is in Leo. Put all that intensity aside and find time to play!
Yes, it is a work day for most of you but it will do your soul good to find friends to play with after work or simply head home for an evening of indulgence.
Remember, Leo brings us the energy of the big cats. Big cats are powerful in the hunt, playful in their interactions with their friends and family, but they also spend large amounts of time simply resting, indulging themselves lounging in the warm sun, sleeping and pruning.
Take a lesson from those cats; indulge in pleasure, warmth, and rest.

CONTEMPLATE SERVICE AND LOVE
Thursday, October 8, 2015:
The most significant news on Thursday is the movement of Venus into Virgo where she will remain until November 8th. Venus represents our personal values and speaks to us of intimate relationships, money, and things that we deeply value.
While Venus was in Leo (since June 5, 2015) you were probably less cautious in these areas and more dramatic. Now, while Venus is in Virgo you are more interested in expressing your love in more practical terms. You are likely to be more cautious and discriminating with your money and expressions of love.
Your expressions are practical, yet sensual, with less self-indulgence and more of an eye toward the service of others.
The Leo Moon is VOC until she enters Virgo at 3:51 PM EDT; a great contemplation for Thursday would revolve around practicality and seeking to be of service to those you love.

MERCURY DIRECT – MOVE FORWARD
Friday, October 9, 2015:
Clearly, the most significant thing about Friday is the fact that Mercury finally turns direct at 0° Libra. Yes, we are ready to move forward!
Have you completed what you intended to complete during this Mercury retrograde? How have you managed the issues of communication time? Are you ready to move forward?
Over the coming weeks, you can anticipate like moving at a somewhat smoother pace. Our projects and communications have very likely felt stuck in challenging over the past three weeks. Mercury will be in forward motion until the next retrograde in January of 2016.
The Moon will be in Virgo throughout Friday offering you the opportunity of a productive day. Leave your desk tidy and your tasks complete when you leave work for the weekend.

TAKE SPACE FOR TIME ALONE
Saturday, October 10, 2015:
This weekend will probably not be one of light fun and games! The good news is that you may benefit through developing maturity or a deeper security within your own skin; to reach this benefit there is internal work to be done.
Today, Venus square Saturn. You may notice yourself feeling more inhibited that usual and a bit uncomfortable in your own skin. You may be unusually concerned with what is proper or you may be with others who are judging you by these standards.
You may feel misunderstood. Others may seem unkind or even cold. Creativity is probably not flowing easily. However, solitary work and the contemplation of what your changing values are teaching you will bring the most gain.
The cycle between Venus and Saturn may manifest as a stabilizing of your values, becoming responsible for your finances, or even learning to comfortably embrace your aging body or lower your financial expectations.
To understand how this is working in your life look back to the beginning of the cycle in mid-November 2014. I wish we all kept a journal! It would make this process so much clearer. At any rate, the cycle began in November 2014, a major step was taken forward at the end of January 2015, the cycle reached its peak in mid-April 2015, and now it becomes clear that in order to move forward you must make a major adjustment.
If you pay attention, the discomfort of this weekend will show you the steps that must now be taken to lead you to the ending of this cycle (and the beginning of a new one) in early January 2016.
Spend time alone, give each other space! Go for a walk. Meditate.

ANXIETY OR EXCITEMENT
Sunday, October 11, 2015:
Wow. What a weekend. The heaviness of Venus square Saturn must be managed on Saturday and then by the end of Sunday, the Sun opposes Uranus.
For some of you, this aspect will shift you quite quickly from hard inner work into a state of excitement. For others, this may show up as a great deal of anxiety and stress. It depends on each individual’s relationship with the energy of Uranus. If possible, choose excitement!
The Moon is in Libra and we are more likely to want to be with others on Sunday. However, if you notice yourself heading into a state of anxiety, try to find a physical activity to release and dispel that energy. Spend a bit of time in meditation to release whatever thoughts are driving the anxiety and then move into a physical activity for excitement and fun.
It could be as simple as going apple picking or as complex as skydiving. If you want to look at the bigger picture, the cycle of the Sun and Uranus began in early April. Did something exciting or anxiety producing begin at that time? However, you have managed the time since, now brings you to the release of that energy.
You can expect restlessness and an expanded need for personal freedom. You do not want to be limited in any way nor have any restrictions placed on you by another.
Become aware of the uniqueness of yourself and every other individual; respect the differences you see in others and show your unique authentic self.

Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!
Monday, October 5, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Cancer) following a square to Uranus at 7:05 AM EDT until she enters Leo on Tuesday, October 6 at 4:31 AM EDT.
Wednesday, October 7, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Leo) following a trine to Uranus at 5:11 PM EDT until she enters Virgo on October 8 at 3:51 PM EDT.
Friday, October 9, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Virgo) following a trine to Pluto at 6:13 PM EDT until she enters Libra on October 11 at 4:46 AM EDT.

Please, pay careful attention to your emotional state this week and to the emotional state of those around you. Consider your default method of dealing with your emotions. Do you face them head-on? Work through them in conversation, meditation, or journal writing? Do you avoid them by eating, drinking, or indulging in other excessive behaviors? Do you hide them under humor or bravado?
What you discover in this exploration may surprise you. If you see things that you would like to change, don’t beat yourself up or expect immediate resolution. Simply observe and work to understand your personal patterns. Discover ways that you can actually feel and share your emotional state.
Try to discover what your emotions are telling you rather than avoiding, postponing, or stuffing them down with food, drugs, television, or pornography. Allow yourself to experience and listen to the emotional truth of others without feeling that you have to fix or change them.
If you feel angry, look beneath the anger until you discover the sadness. Allow yourself to feel. Come out of your self-enclosed cocoon and pay attention to the faces of those around you.
Watch expressions. Can you read the emotion beneath the expression? How can you send comfort, healing, and kindness without a word?
Carry these contemplations throughout the week. Allow your emotions to speak to you; let them show you the path forward.
On to the dailies!

SILVER LINING
Monday, July 13, 2015:
On Monday, we can expect the Gemini Moon to allow us a bit of light pleasure. Perhaps, it is giving us the opportunity to avoid the depth and complexity of our current circumstances. Or maybe both are part of the plan!
With that said, let’s enjoy today! It may be possible to relax into light fun and exciting conversation. The Gemini Moon is making lovely sextile aspects to Uranus, Jupiter, and Venus.
At 3:13 PM EDT, Mercury forms a free flowing trine aspect to Neptune. In late March, when Mercury and Neptune began their cycle there was a powerful dream on the table. In recent weeks, I suspect you have struggled with that dream. The struggle is not over.
However, on Monday, if you try, you can see it that dream is still viable. There is hard work ahead if you chose to continue in that direction. If you look, you will see the glimmer of the silver lining.
It is there. It is possible but not necessary to work your way towards fulfilling that dream. Regardless of the next step, hold the silver lining in your mind and your heart as we begin this week.

WHAT MUST BE RELEASED?
Tuesday, July 14, 2015:
The energy of love and nurturing kindness, or powerful protectiveness gets a boost on Tuesday as the Moon joins Mercury, Mars, and the Sun in Cancer while we sleep.
Also, very early on Tuesday morning, Venus forms a square aspect to Saturn. These two planets coming into a challenging aspect is not easy. There are several ways to look at this; if you think in terms of archetypes, consider Saturn as an authoritative, serious, no-nonsense teacher. Consider Venus to be your warm, sensual, and beautiful belly-dance instructor. On Tuesday, you may hear a stressful conversation between these two internal archetypes.
Venus longs to be beautiful, appreciated, and loved. Saturn insists on being taken seriously and wants to hold you accountable. This may be a day when our serious side has little patience for giving our beautiful side the appreciation that we need.
Thinking about this in terms of the full cycle, we will want to consider this to be a cycle of stabilizing finances and love. The current cycle began in mid-November 2014.
Where were our relationships being formed with structure and purpose? In mid-April, we saw the full illumination of where that stabilization had brought us. Did the cycle bring you the place you imagined? Has it been better than you imagined? Or has it been a terrible disappointment?
Now, we are at the Third Quarter phase of this cycle. We know it is time to look clearly, work with what is of value, and let go of what needs to be released.
Decisions to determine what needs to be released, in relationship or resources, sit heavily on your plate today. Spend some time alone in contemplation and please bring kindness to all your encounters, especially your encounters with self.

NEW MOON – PLANT A SEED TO HEAL LOVE
Wednesday, July 15, 2015:
I’m afraid I cannot tell you to anticipate a fun and easy day on Wednesday. That doesn’t mean you have to resign yourself to having a terrible day. It does mean that you will want to pay careful attention to how you manage situations and people that you encounter.
The Moon is in Cancer (New Moon at 9:25PM EDT) brings our sensitivities close to the surface while making rough aspects to Mars, Pluto, and Uranus. Our sensitive emotions are being challenged by life transformations that we may have no control over.
We will do best to simply release the need to have control. Ride with the flow of this day, this week, and much of this lifetime.
Because Mars and Mercury are traveling hand in hand, (they will make full contact shortly after midnight), they each make an opposition to Pluto on Wednesday. Remain fully aware of your thoughts, your words, and your actions. An extra dose of meditation should be helpful!
If you have personal planets between 13 – 15 degrees of the Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn), be particularly diligent and aware of the power within your presence.
Can you see the results of what began between November 8th and November 12th 2014? I hope the results from that time are what you were seeking; pay attention now and plan accordingly. The answers to the questions should be clear.
The New Moon is a time to consciously plant a seed toward your own personal growth and development. Take time to contemplate what you want this lunar cycle to bring. This is a cycle that has the potential of offering the healing of broken love.

DIRECT COMMUNICATION
Thursday, July 16, 2015:
Over the past few days, as Mercury and Mars have been dancing together in Cancer, we have had the opportunity to look at our personal patterns of expressing assertiveness and anger. If you have been paying attention, you will have noticed the places where your old patterns no longer work.
Thursday brings us to the conjunction between Mercury and Mars beginning a new cycle of direct, clear communication. If you are having troubles in communication with a partner, friend, coworker, children, or parents, Thursday is the day to begin a new cycle of developing clear communication.
If this is an significant issue in your life at this time, I recommend a book called: The Five Keys to Mindful Communication: Using Deep Listening and Mindful Speech to Strengthen Relationships, Heal Conflicts, and Accomplish Your Goals by Susan Gillis Chapman.
The Moon enters Leo at 10:15 AM EDT lightening things up and allowing us some space for play. Don’t waste time… Play… Summer is short!
“The most basic and powerful way to connect to another person is to listen. Just listen. Perhaps the most important thing we ever give each other is our attention. A loving silence often has far more power to heal and connect than the most well-intentioned words.” ~ Rachel Naomi Remen

RELEASE, RESIST, REST
Friday, July 17, 2015:
Friday is an unusual day. There are absolutely no major aspects, no planets changing signs, no VOC* Moon; an absolutely quiet day!
I know there is an energy bleed through from other aspects which came earlier this week or are appearing over the coming days, but a day with no exact major aspects is uncommon. I take this as a sign from the Universe to release, resist, and rest. I plan to take nothing too personally or too seriously on this day.
These weeks has certainly offered up its challenges but for today, let’s look at the broader perspective and remember that the excitement of Uranus is still offering it’s intensification to the expansion of love expressed through Venus and Jupiter in Leo. Hold the thought of that energy throughout this Friday.
The Moon is in Leo asking that we step forward with full authentic expression. The energy of Leo demands that we outwardly express all that is internal.
Focus on expression, kindness, and love. Hold your loved ones close and never for a moment forget to be grateful for each day.
“The more you recognize and express gratitude for the things you have, the more things you will have to express gratitude for.” Zig Ziglar

A PICNIC OR THE BEACH
Saturday, July 18, 2015:
The Moon is in Leo until Saturday evening. Please head to the beach or for a picnic! This is a great Saturday to truly enjoy Summer activities.
Saturday evening, the Moon goes VOC*at 5:42 PM EDT and enters Virgo at 8:47 PM EDT.
Venus enters Virgo at 6:38 PM EDT, having been in Leo since June 5th. Venus will not spend too much time in Virgo as she will be retrograding back to Leo over the coming weeks. Venus in Virgo highlights the pleasure and appreciation of a tidy house and organized closets. However, an even more significant influence, Venus in Virgo appreciates kindness and the ability to be of service to others.
Another cycle that began in the Spring is asking for our attention this weekend. On April 8th, Mercury and Uranus came together, beginning a cycle of intense and unusual communication or expression. If you can identify what began at that time, it is now time to step forward and take action on that issue.
I started a writing project at that time that I have not been paying much attention to. Clearly, it is time for me to pick that project back up and work on it this weekend. Funny, I have heard it calling to me!

PREPARATION
Sunday July 19, 2015:
With the intensification of this entire week, it’s nice to have a quiet Sunday.
The Moon is in Virgo with a touch of soft dreamy energy in the afternoon when she makes contact with Neptune. This should be a great day to simply prepare for the upcoming work-week or begin preparation for any upcoming event, vacation or party.
Sunday is a good day for any type of preparation: paying bills, doing laundry, cleaning, or packing. I know that doesn’t sound exciting, but it is a blessing to have these days. Clearly, every one of us must do these things in order to take good care of ourselves. The more you can focus on these issues today the more you can enjoy the upcoming week.
“The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn for the past, not to worry about the future, not to anticipate the future, but to live the present moment wisely and earnestly. “ ~Buddha (paraphrased)
