The Lunar Nodes change signs on Tuesday!

As the transiting Lunar Nodes move through the signs, they impact our lives through our natal charts. The Nodes also remind us of the path our soul is asking us to follow.

Phantasy by William Savage Cooper via Wiki Commons

On Tuesday, May 9th, the Lunar Nodes move into the fixed signs of the Leo/Aquarius axis. Since mid-November of 2015, they have been in the mutable signs of Virgo/Pisces. Due to the Lunar Nodes moving primarily in a retrograde motion, they enter this axis at 29° Leo/Aquarius and will remain in these signs for approximately one and a half years.

During this time, the Leo area of your chart will become a more prominent sphere of growth. The Aquarius area of your chart may feel more vulnerable and require attention as you work through challenges there. You may experience a strong shift, what feels like an insistence toward expressing your creative gifts more freely in the Leo arena as you reach your fullest potential in this area of your life.

The last time the Lunar Nodes moved through the Leo/Aquarius axis was between February 2008 and August 2009. At that time, it was the North Node in Aquarius and the South Node in Leo, the opposite of where they are currently moving toward and will be inhabiting May 9th.

The last time the North Node was in Leo and the South Node in Aquarius was between October 1998 and April 2000. Do you remember what was happening in your life during those periods of time? How do circumstances that occurred during those times relate to where you are currently? How can those past occurrences inform the steps you can take in the areas of your life being affected over the next one and a half years?

KINDNESS WITH INTEGRITY

Monday, May 8, 2017:

Monday’s gracious Libra Moon struggles for balance as she encounters challenging aspects to mighty Pluto, thoughtful Mercury, and uncommon Uranus throughout the day. I understand that you want harmony but keep uppermost in your mind that you cannot create that balanced state of relationships on the back of dishonesty or lack of integrity. If you say yes when your truth is screaming “No”, be clear that you are creating major disharmony, even if your desire is good will.

Make sure that you are crystal clear regarding your answer to any requests made of you. If your true answer to a request is no but you think you SHOULD say yes, pay attention to that red flag! Say ‘No’ emphatically. This is a day when you need to be very clear about what is true for you. Harmony is created through integrity toward yourself and others. There are no shortcuts.

Be kind without selling yourself down the river.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:59 PM EDT until she enters Scorpio in the wee hours of Tuesday morning at 1:01 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

EMPOWERMENT – BLESSED FLOW

Tuesday, May 9, 2017:

Tuesday brings the issues of power and empowerment to the table – front and center! While you slept, the Moon entered Scorpio, bringing your emotions to a deep dive into intensity and passion.

At 2:23 PM EDT, the Sun at 19 degrees Taurus forms a helpful, supportive trine aspect to Pluto at 19 degrees Capricorn. Remember, Pluto represents the process of metamorphosis. When Pluto is involved in a challenging transit or aspect, (a square, an opposition, and sometimes a conjunction), there is struggle and difficulty with the process of deeply significant change. When the aspect is positive, (as in a sextile or a trine), the process is often imbued with deep empowerment and a sense of blessed flow.

If you know the houses in your chart that these planets and aspects fall in, you will have a better idea of where this flow wants to express itself in your life.

Perhaps, a webinar to help you see where these planets and aspects fall in your chart would be helpful. Would you be interested? Let me know!

In the very early hours of Wednesday morning at 1:19 AM EDT, Mercury forms a powerful conjunction with Uranus. The energy of this planet has been working with us for the past week or so and finally, the transit becomes exact. You may find that your mind is focused on demands for freedom, equality, and justice. You may be surprised by ideas and thoughts that come to life over the coming days.

Mercury conjunct Uranus is the beginning of a cycle that screams, “Wake up”! What are you going to do with this one precious life? How can you help in the demand for freedom and equality? Wake up!

SCORPIO FULL MOON – WAKE UP

Wednesday, May 10, 2017:

Red Girl & Knight by John William Waterhouse via Wiki Commons

While you slept, the conjunction between Mercury and Uranus became exact at 1:19 AM EDT. Pay attention to the demand for freedom of thought and expression. Where do you feel this freedom being hindered? What can you do to wake yourself and others up to what needs to be changed and shifted on this planet? How can you help to bring equality to all?

Do not be overwhelmed; change occurs when we each take tiny steps to support the larger steps of others who are able and willing. Wake up and then take action!

At 5:43 PM EDT, the Lunar Cycle reaches its pinnacle at the powerful Scorpio Full Moon. What seed did you plant at the New Moon two weeks ago? How has that process developed? What intensity has developed and is in clear view at this time?

Read Tuesday’s post about the movement of the Nodal Axis and pay attention to a drive toward expression and the necessity to awaken.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:43 PM EDT until she enters Sagittarius at 1:00 PM EDT on Thursday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DEEPER CLARITY BY EVENING

Thursday, May 11, 2017:

On Thursday, the depth and intensity of the Scorpio Moon gives way to the desire for adventure and a more expansive understanding as the Moon enters Sagittarius at 1:00 PM EDT.

However, the lighter sense that Sagittarius generally brings is quickly colored by a blurred understanding of the day’s circumstance when assertive Mars forms an uncomfortable square to murky Neptune at 1:52 PM EDT. This pattern may reflect a loss of perspective, leaving you somewhat confused about the direction you want to go or the path you would like to take. Rest in this fluid state, do not allow it to overwhelm you. Spend a few hours in quiet contemplation.

When cerebral Mercury forms an easy trine aspect to Saturn at 4:14 PM EDT, you are able to see more clearly and understand how your thinking directs the realities of your circumstances and your life. Clarity is welcomed and your mind and communications gain much needed clarity.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Sagittarius at 1:00 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

ENTHUSIASM & FUN

Friday, May 12, 2017:

You may notice that it is much easier to get out of bed this morning than is often the case on a Friday morning.

Dynamic Mars forms a lovely flowing trine aspect to generous Jupiter at 6:18 AM EDT. This energy of expansion and optimism should stay with you for the bulk of the day. You may feel a slight confusion or discomfort around 5:00 PM EDT when the extroverted Sagittarius Moon forms a challenging square to disorienting Neptune. Take this as a suggestion to take a nap before a fun Friday evening adventure.

At 5:58 PM EDT, the Sagittarius Moon forms an exciting sextile aspect to cheery Jupiter encouraging you to entertain, mingle, or somehow expand your social circle.

At 6:45 PM EDT, when opinionated Sagittarius Moon opposes combative Mars, you will do well to pay attention to how you express your more passionate opinions.

It may be easy to speak too loudly or otherwise offend someone with your point of view. Be respectful, watch what you say, and plan for a fun night of social pleasure.

LOOK AHEAD

Saturday, May 13, 2017:

Saturday’s explorative Sagittarius Moon moves quietly through the day allowing you to pay attention to the details of the weekend. She is so slow it is almost as though she is saving her energy for evening.

At 5:46 PM EDT, the far-reaching Sagittarius Moon trine unpredictable Uranus, encouraging you to seek inspiration and an exciting adventure to sink your teeth into.

At 6:57 PM EDT, when the Moon joins with deliberate Saturn, you may become aware of more somber outcomes or responsibilities that could be ignited by your adventures. Allow that seriousness to pass (remember, Moon transits pass quickly) and open your thinking to the future.

At 10:15 PM EDT, the Moon trine thoughtful Mercury, allowing you to say and express your ideas openly with enthusiasm and clarity. Enjoy the evening as Sunday will bring with it seriousness and focus on the path ahead.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 10:15 PM EDT until she enters Capricorn in the wee hours of Sunday morning at 1:38 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

FOCUS & PATIENCE

Sunday, May 14, 2017:

When you begin the day, you will immediately be aware of a profound difference in how you feel, and the quality of light within and without. After several days of excitement with the Sagittarius Moon, she has now entered Capricorn bringing you face-to-face with cold, sober reality.

This is a day of thoughtful, deliberate determination. You could spend the day working on any difficult projects that requires focused work and patience.

By the end of the day, you may feel highly accomplished in any number of areas of your life. Perhaps, you should get a jump on the coming week. Make a list of all the things you could do that would assist in a week of ‘easy flow’.

Is there a topic you need to study to be prepared for the week ahead? You could prepare meals or make sure your laundry is done for the upcoming week. This is not a day for frivolous play but a day to focus in order for the coming days to move more smoothly.

If you find yourself with time on your hands, offer your services to help others get move ahead or prepare for the upcoming path.

Another week has come and gone and a new one begins!

Don’t save all your fun and pleasures for this weekend as the best part of this week comes prior to that. The high point of the week comes on Friday when expansive Jupiter enters diplomatic, beautiful Libra. We hope for the best.

Over the weekend, you may need to pay particular attention to the more profound and challenging side of your love life or your finances. Do not take either of these issues for granted. A willingness to be vulnerable and to take risks with those you love may be necessary. Deep love brings us to unimaginable change in our lives and, as such, requires vulnerability and the willingness to encounter great transformation.

EMOTIONAL DEPTH

Monday, September 5, 2016:

Monday is Labor Day and a holiday for most of us in the U.S. The planetary activity is very quiet, providing the opportunity for a relaxing and enjoyable day. When the Moon enters Scorpio at 8:39 AM EDT, you may notice a bit of moodiness in yourself or others. Consider any emotional turmoil to be a clear direction for you to deepen your emotional connection with whoever you are spending the day with. If you are alone, spend time in deep emotional contemplation.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from Sunday evening at 8:30 PM EDT until she enters Scorpio at 8:39 AM EDT on Monday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

DEEP CONTEMPLATION OFFERS OPPORTUNITY

Tuesday, September 6, 2016:

Tuesday’s intense Scorpio Moon enjoys lovely connections with the Sun, Neptune, and Pluto throughout the day. This provides a positive outlet for the profoundly powerful energy of transcendent Pluto.

With the penetratingly deep Scorpio Moon forming sextile aspects to both the Sun and Pluto, keep your eyes open for opportunities to focus with great empowerment on your goals and desires. Don’t try to be all things to all people on Tuesday. Remember, the importance of working in the silence and in the dark to birth your visions. Time alone in contemplation may bring great rewards.

SEEK OPPORTUNITIES FOR STABLE FOUNDATIONS

Magic Circle by John William Waterhouse via Wiki Commons

Magic Circle by John William Waterhouse via Wiki Commons

Wednesday, September 7, 2016:

Powerful forces build strong foundations to develop your deepest desires today. At 1:19 AM EDT, the Sun forms a trine aspect (120 degree angle) to Pluto. The cycle between the Sun and Pluto, which is a cycle of deep internal empowerment, began when they conjoined in early January of 2016.

Consider what began at that time that is leading to a current sense of self-empowerment. The steps taken now to focus your will are able to develop with great intensity. You are building the deep roots necessary to develop the long-term results you are seeking and that are intended to sustain and stabilize your most significant intentions.

At 7:33 AM EDT, beautiful Venus forms a supportive sextile to steadfast Saturn offering an opportunity to gently stabilize your creative endeavors, your finances, or your most love entrenched relationships. This is indeed a powerful and stabilizing day. Pay attention to the intensity of the future you are creating and the opportunities offered for stabilizing that future.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) for a short period of time from 8:43 PM EDT until she enters Sagittarius at 9:20 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

SEEK BALANCE

Thursday, September 8, 2016:

With the Moon in Sagittarius all day on Thursday, we may feel some relief as our perspective feels lighter and more open to a higher level of understanding. However, as the Moon makes contact with both serious, reality based Saturn and dreamy, illusionary Neptune early in the morning, we can’t get away from the fact that we are only a few days away from the final square contact between these two planets.

We are reminded of the challenge of finding a way to balance these ‘difficult to combine’ energies. It is important to continue the effort of bringing the reality of our situations into our most spiritually transcendent vision or dream.

Combining reality and dreams has been part of our ongoing work since this combination – Saturn square Neptune began in November of 2015. We can see the struggle in so many places in our communities, cultures, and the political process; look to see its reflection in your personal life.  Seek balance.

EXPANDING DIPLOMACY AND GENEROSITY

Friday, September 9, 2016:

The generosity and expansion of Jupiter opens the morning with a delightful shift of focus. At 7:18 AM EDT, exuberant and philosophical Jupiter enters cooperative Libra where he will remain until October of 2017. The last time Jupiter was in Libra was between September 2004 and October 2005. Consider the similarities between that time and now regarding the expansion of your own ability to form relationships and create beauty.

With a square aspect formed between the Sun and Moon, we come to the First Quarter (and First Quarter Square) of the Lunar Cycle at 7:49 AM EDT. Think back to the Solar Eclipse New Moon on September 1, 2016. What was the seed that you planted? What have you begun that you want to grow to great stability to support your life? What action needs to be taken over the coming 24 hours that will support this intention as you move forward?

A trine between the Sagittarius Moon and Uranus at 8:51 PM EDT offers the energy to get out and enjoy excitement and the pleasures of friends. Find a place to dance! Go out; express exuberant energy; have fun.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:51 PM EDT until she enters Capricorn at 8:55 AM EDT on Saturday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

BALANCE WILL BE RESTORED

Saturday, September 10, 2016:

The Moon enters the cautions realm of Capricorn at 8:55 AM EDT leaving the fun from Friday night behind and ushering us to the final exact square of Saturn to Neptune. This aspect has been the most significant signature of 2016. Consider, once again, the effort you have made to balance what is real and solid with your most intangible dreams and even escapist tendencies.

It may be easy to get lost in confusion and misunderstanding. Don’t get stuck there. The key is trusting that the process at work will ultimately reveal the beauty and purpose that has thus far been obstructed. This is the 3rd Quarter Square in the cycle between Saturn and Neptune.

If you are old enough to remember 1989, consider what dream you may have begun at that time. Now, you are able to see ahead to a new, similar, far more evolved dream. It is just a glimmer now, ahead in the distance; but if you are able to stand steady and not run for the first escape hatch you will build reality into the new dream over the coming years. Release your need for control; allow the process to unfold with trust and unimaginable vulnerability.

Sleep may not come easily as we push into a Venus square Pluto in the early morning hours of Sunday. Emotional intensity may move your dreams and impact the coming days.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:51 PM EDT on Friday until she enters Capricorn at 8:55 AM EDT on Saturday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

ALLOW PROFOUND CHANGE

Sunday, September 11, 2016:

Sunday is a highly emotional day. At 3:47 AM EDT, Venus square Pluto suggesting profound intensity and possibly major transformation to our partnerships and your deepest held values. Treat each other kindly. Allow change, it is more necessary than you may realize. This is not a suggestion that something significant must end; but it must change.

Consider the change that will bring empowerment to your values or your relationship. Did you begin a process in early February 2016 that can no longer continue on the path it is treading? Consider your options! Open your mind to what is possible.

By the end of the day, you will know more than you did to start, secrets and vulnerabilities may be revealed. If you have not been fully honest, now is the time to face the truth. Only when the wound is revealed can the healing begin. The evening brings the possibility of increased understanding and connection with the Capricorn Moon trine the Sun at 10:35 PM EDT.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 2, 2016 through May 9, 2016

I don’t think there’s much we can do to keep this week simple.  We’re going to have to work with what is currently on the table.  The week begins with Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all in retrograde motion.

That is a lot of energy telling us to pay attention to all unfinished business, unresolved issues, and lingering doubts that are holding us back.  Now is the time to deeply focus on cleaning up and resolving issues from the past.

Моя Cемья by Зурбаган via Wiki Commons

If you have been following astrology for any amount of time, you are familiar with the way Mercury retrograde tends to manifest in our lives.  If we are not paying attention, if we continue to push forward into new territory regarding communications or projects, then we are apt to run into problems, detours, and delays.

During this time, choose your communications carefully, double check details, and most of all, practice patience with all people (including yourself), and in all circumstances.

Mercury retrograde is not a terrible time!  If you consciously spend the time cleaning your desk, your mind, and your heart of old projects and overdue communications, this can be a time of great accomplishment.

The Mars retrograde is not so simple.

Mars is the planet of assertiveness, anger, leadership, courage, impulsive action, sexual energy, violence, and the power of will.

Consider that when a planet is retrograde, we are asked to look honestly at where we have fallen short in utilizing the energy of that planet.

The last time Mars was retrograde was between March 1, 2014 and May 19, 2014.  If you keep a journal, it will be helpful to go back and check that period of time in your life.  This can give you a good idea of how you personally respond to Mars retrograde; although you must keep in mind that where the retrograde is occurring in your own chart is also highly significant. The current Mars retrograde begins at 8° Sagittarius moving back to 23° Scorpio. If you want help in understanding this contact Jennie or me (Laurie) for a consultation!

Consider how you have utilized this strong Mars energy since May 2014.  What areas in your life have you misused powerful energy or been out of integrity?  Think about how you have used the power of your will, your sexual energy, and the power you wield over others through leadership or other methods of control and/or power.

It is now time to wake up and learn to better use your own powerful energies.

Pay attention to any disruptions that occur during this time.  Understand that disruptions now reflect the need to consciously wake up and use power and will with integrity and kindness to others.

THE DREAM HOLDS SWAY

Monday, May 2, 2016:

Monday would be a great day to stay home from work.  The Pisces Moon forms aspects that do not help pull us out of the space we may find ourselves in with sluggish energy and lack of focus.

At 8:23 AM EDT, the Pisces Moon opposes Jupiter and we may feel pulled between the fantasy world of Pisces and Virgo’s insistence that we fulfill our duties, and get back to work and accomplish something!

At 11:39 AM EDT, the Moon squares Saturn reaffirming the fact that we simply do not want to be at work.  If your work is highly creative, you may be able to use this to your advantage by thinking of it as putting effort into bringing the dream into reality.

Spend the evening in meditation, with a fantasy novel or movie, or go ahead and indulge in that extra glass of wine.  It is an evening for soft dreams, an evening to not only allow but enjoy the lack of clarity that holds sway.

Yes.  Go ahead and indulge your dreams.

GIFT OF EXPANSION & PASSION

Tuesday, May 3, 2016:

Buoyant optimism takes over on Tuesday with the Sun trine Jupiter in the wee hours of the morning.  The Moon then enters impulsive, energetic Aries at 12:05 PM EDT.  This is a welcome change after the sluggishness we had to manage on Monday.

The cycle between the Sun and Jupiter is a cycle of self-expansion and growth.  What seed of personal growth did you plant in late August of 2015?  Did you see a new possibility that could bring you into a broader understanding of your self and your place in the world?  Did you take action to bring clarity to your own growth in mid-December?  The full creativity of that seed was evident in early March and now you are able to accept the gift of higher understanding and an expansive ability to support others.

It would be good to move your body and expend physical energy this afternoon.  Go for a run, a bike ride, or a swim.  Use the assertive powerful energy of Aries in a way that will tire you out.

With the Aries Moon trine Mars around bedtime, you may have a hard time getting to sleep if you do not physically tire yourself out.  Of course, the best use of this energy would be to engage in a passionate romp in the hay.  If you have an interested, willing, and enthusiastic partner, make it a date.  If not, make a date with yourself.

You may stay up later than is customary on a weeknight but the sleep you get on the other side of enjoying a deep sexual connection will be worth more than a sleepless night with this energy blocked in your body.

There is much to enjoy in this day.  Keep your eye on the prize.

FEELS LIKE A ROLLER COASTER

Wednesday, May 4, 2016:

By the end of Wednesday, you may feel that you have spent the day on a roller coaster.  In the midst of such a day, it may be helpful to maintain awareness that we are heading into the ‘dark of the Moon’.  Remember, the importance of quiet introspection over the next few days as we prepare for the Taurus New Moon on Friday.

The day begins under the influence of the Moon trine Saturn, stabilizing that powerful Aries Moon.  With courage and assertion, you should be able to get a great deal accomplished during the morning hours.

Remember, with Mercury retrograde to stick with already established plans and projects; do not start any new projects at this time.

The late afternoon brings us face-to-face with the stress and difficulty of the Moon square Pluto and later in the evening, the Moon conjunct Uranus.  Emotional concerns, disruptions, and struggles could easily rock the boat.  As much as possible do not lay blame; take responsibility for where you find yourself, and look deeply at what needs to be transformed to bring your life to a higher level of personal growth and understanding.

Work with this internal process; fighting against it could backfire into interpersonal dynamics that would only cause more difficulties on the path ahead.  In any and all interactions with others on Wednesday evening, offer kindness.  Get out of your own way.  Look into the eyes of those you encounter and see your reflection.

ENJOY A SLOWER PACE

Thursday, May 5, 2016:

You may wake up on Thursday with the uncomfortable sense that you didn’t deal with Wednesday’s challenges as well as you wish you had.  You may have had a difficult night’s sleep as well.  There is no doubt that Mars retrograde adds to the difficulty of all challenging aspects to a sometimes overly aggressive Aries Moon.

Don’t let it get you worked up; things will smooth and energies shift dramatically as the Moon enters Taurus at 12:11 PM EDT.  We gratefully settle into a more peaceful emotional space and may even wonder what had us so stressed on Wednesday.  Whatever the cause of anxiety, it just doesn’t seem so important once the Moon is in steady, dependable Taurus.

The planets are very quiet for the rest of the day.  There is nothing to do but feel the calm, steady energy of Taurus, enjoy the desire for peace, comfort, and sensual touch.  Embrace the slower pace; get comfortable, and ‘stop to smell the roses’.  Offer a massage, a home cooked meal, or bring flowers to a friend.

TAURUS NEW MOON: A POWERFUL CYCLE BEGINS

Friday, May 6, 2016:

Lovely aspects to the steadfast Taurus Moon prevail throughout the day.  This is very significant with the New Moon exact at 2:30 PM EDT.  The aspects to a New Moon tell us much about the cycle we are beginning.

At this New Moon, the Sun and Moon are conjunct at 16° Taurus.  Together, the Sun and Moon form a Grand Earth Trine to Pluto in Capricorn and Jupiter in Virgo.  This is a powerful configuration offering creative determination, resourcefulness, and the steadfast energy required to make powerful progress toward our most practical goals.

Please take time to do a simple New Moon ritual.  You want to complete the ritual after the exact time of the New Moon and within 24 hours.  This is a powerful New Moon for practical goals and accomplishments.  You should make a plan regarding real world desires; money or love come to mind.

Don’t neglect your New Moon ritual.  Keep it simple.  Take a moment to write down what you wish to begin or create in the upcoming cycle.  What do you want to see increase over the coming month?  Have two candles available for your ritual.  Light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are at this moment in time.  Light the second candle as an aspiration of what you want to create.  Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle.  As you light the second candle, focus on drawing to you what you are creating as you bring the two candles closer together.  At the Full Moon in two weeks, bring them fully together and see the results of what you have created.

Share this ritual with your friends and loved ones.  I have been using this process for some time now and find it amazingly powerful. 🙂

FLOW EMPOWERS CHANGE

Saturday, May 7, 2016:

After the stabilizing New Moon on Friday, Saturday brings us the full empowerment of Sun trine Pluto.  This brings to our core an intense, free flowing energy of transformation and transcendence.

The current cycle between the Sun and Pluto (a cycle of personal empowerment) began in early January. At that time you planted a seed or set an intention intended to increase your personal power through dismantling some inner force; purification and rebirth required.

Whatever you did early in April to push forward with this dismantling and transformation has put you on a path now where you can flow with the change.

Look deeply and you will see what is being worked upon.  You will probably find the answer within the issues of Mars retrograde; issues of how much integrity you bring to your physicality and sexuality.  The trine aspect allows change to occur far more simply than you may expect.  It is not necessary to get in your own way.

The Moon enters Gemini at 11:35 AM EDT and with Mercury, (ruler of Gemini) retrograde, it would be easy to share this powerful internal process without realizing that others may not hear things in the way you intend.  Be sure that your reasons for sharing do not have complicated or unkind overtones.  Once you are clear on your integrity, go ahead and share, but double check that you are truly heard and understood.

FORGIVE MISTAKES EASILY

Sunday, May 8, 2016:

Sunday the Gemini Moon is very active and your mind may be moving faster than you can keep up.  If you have a meditation practice, this is not a good day to skip it! Whatever you can do to stabilize your thinking early in the day will help you to make the most of it.

If you find yourself restless and agitated (the Gemini Moon is square Jupiter at 8:50 AM EDT), get out for an early morning walk.  Talk to yourself, your dog, and any inanimate objects; don’t bring the agitation into any of your domestic or family relationships.

The Moon opposes Saturn at 11:31 AM EDT allowing negativity and a judgmental attitude to attempt to sneak in.  It is a Moon transit so it won’t last long.  Go off by yourself, there is no point is stirring the pot when the energy will be gone if you simply allow it.  This is a good day to simply engage with a variety of activities. Keeping yourself busy will keep out of with unnecessary and problematic communications.

Remember, you are not alone in this.  Give everyone around you space to make mistakes.  Let it go.  If something is said that is upsetting to you, wait to discuss it later.  Today is not the day.

As long as you have managed the day without mishap, you can anticipate the late evening to loosen things up and allows space for some playful fun.

Have you or your children gone back to school? Has your life settled down as you stabilize yourself into more of a routine? Do you see yourself preparing for harvest and the cooler days ahead (in the Northern Hemisphere)? Is this a time of pleasure for you?

Here in Vermont, with our long cold winters, there is much preparation to do. If you want to come help cut, split, and stack wood up here in the north woods, let me know. There is much preparation to ensure my warmth in the coming months. 

Personally, as much as I love the heat of August, I am always ready for the calm that seems to come with the shorter, cooler days.

I like long evenings of slow movies, good friends, and warm soup.

Are you concerned or unclear about the path ahead? Do you know where the coming Spring will find you? Let Astrolore help you understand the upcoming adventure and the path you are on.

Make your appointment today! Together, we will work with your individual horoscope to explore your hopes, dreams, goals, your current path, and the reality of your life purpose. Our simple conversation will offer you a profoundly renewed perspective on your life and circumstances.

WHERE HAS THE DREAM BROUGHT YOU?

Monday, August 31, 2015:

The week begins with the Moon in Aries. On an emotional level, you may feel strong and able to take on the world. However, you may be a bit overwhelmed by far more ethereal energies. Consider your dreams – the sleeping kind and the wakeful kind.

On Monday, the Sun opposes Neptune. In considering this cycle, think about a seed that you planted in late February of this year. Perhaps, it had its roots within a dream of deep importance. Now, you can see if this was a realistic dream or if it pulled you down a path that has sapped your energies.

That dream has brought you to a sense of enlightenment or on a more negative side, a sense of suffering. The light of clarity shines on the result of the dream. If you find the dream has become a nightmare, it is now your responsibility to re-envision where you find yourself.

Even if it seems the results have all turned to suffering, seek value. You will find it hidden within the beauty that is growing alongside the suffering. Focus there.

WHAT IS POSSIBLE?

Tuesday, September 1, 2015:

Tuesday is a day of powerful energies. Do not take this day lightly. Yes, the sense of suffering or confusion from Monday will ride alongside the powerful forces of the element of Fire. Fire brings enthusiasm and drive. Take action on what needs to be accomplished, stop putting it off! Just do it!

However, do allow a little space in your daily routines this morning. As much as possible, try to guard against situations that will increase your anxiety.

Following a square to Uranus at 11:38 AM EST, the Aries Moon will be VOC* until Wednesday morning when she will enter Taurus.

You can expect a highly active, somewhat quirky day. Do not expect interactions to be highly significant, but seek out light-hearted friends to spend time with in the evening. This is not the evening to stay home and watch a movie alone.

The energy of Tuesday evening asks you to get out and engage in potentially life changing activities with others. Open your heart and mind to what is possible.

“At any given moment, you have the power to say: This is not how the story is going to end.” ~ Christine Mason Miller

SEEK REVERENCE AND CALM

Wednesday, September 2, 2015:

After the anxiety of Tuesday, Wednesday should feel calm and stable. The Moon is in Taurus bringing stability and the reverence for beauty to the middle of the week. Throughout the day, the Taurus Moon makes lovely aspects to Jupiter, Neptune, and the Sun.

Anticipate being able to see more clearly and understand the confusion and suffering from the past few days. Clarity comes as you stabilize and expand into a deeply spiritual realm of understanding.

Reverence and calm is needed and delivered. Simply open your heart and accept this gift.

“The greatest step toward a life of simplicity is to learn to let go.” ~ Steve Maraboli

ENJOY THE SENSUALITY OF YOUR BODY

Thursday, September 3, 2015:

On Thursday, you will probably be motivated by a desire for comfort and stability. You do not want change or upheaval. Life feels a bit slowed down and you are inclined to resist anything that is unpredictable.

If you can find a steady groove for work, you can get a lot accomplished. Try to find that groove early in the day before you get pulled into a stuck place of laziness. 

The Taurus Moon offers you a great day for harvesting the garden, getting or giving a massage, or making art.

The Moon is exalted in Taurus (just a fancy word meaning she loves being here). This is a day to deeply experience your embodiment. Yes, here you are in a body! Some days it feels as though we are all in our heads… but on Thursday you are fully aware that you have this body to express yourself through.

Treat your body well on Thursday; sink into your body, feel the delights of your senses. Revel in your earthly life, enjoy the sensuality of your body.

“What makes you vulnerable makes you beautiful.” ~ Brene Brown

WHAT DO YOU WANT TO TALK ABOUT?

Friday, September 4, 2015:

Friday holds a very different energy from Thursday. By the time, we are up and moving on Friday morning, the Moon has entered Gemini (6:47AM EST), following a brief VOC* Moon.

There are no major aspects to concern us so we are free to enjoy the simplicity of the energy provided by the Gemini Moon.

Communication, variety, and curiosity are the basic themes of the day. Don’t seek out or expect depth or intensity in your communications, stick with the light, breezy, and friendly.

As the Gemini Moon trines Mercury, this evening you may notice how easy it is to say what you are thinking. If you have a writing project (are you writing a book or a blog?) this will be the perfect time to get a lot done quickly!

If you find yourself in the spotlight, you will know what to say.

“If you light a lamp for someone else, it will also brighten your path.” ~ Buddha

YOUR WORDS ARE A GIFT

Saturday, September 5, 2015:

Here, we are looking forward to yet another weekend. Make a plan; this weekend is a powerhouse (definition: a person or thing of great energy, strength, or power)!

What will you do to harness the power of this day?

Consider first that the Moon will be in Gemini so all that we talked about for Friday will hold true here as well. You will have the energy of curiosity and lightheartedness to share with others.

The energy of most significance is the trine made by the Sun to Pluto, the planet of empowerment and transformation. In looking at the full cycle, let us go back to the birth of the cycle on January 3, 2015.

What empowerment was born at that time? In early April, there was a push forward on that issue and in early July the full empowerment was expressed.

Now, the energy is flowing freely, whatever transformation and learning you encountered from the first stages of the cycle is now flowing outward. Offer your ability to bring empowerment to others through your teaching. Keep your eyes open and you will see the opportunity offered.

Remember; this is a day when your words are a gift; the awareness you are able to bring to others can open minds and change lives. As we learn, we teach. You will teach best that which you most need to learn.

VENUS TURNS DIRECT: MOVE FORWARD WITH LOVE & MONEY

Sunday, September 6, 2015:

Oh, Thank Goodness!

I am deeply grateful to see that Venus turns direct on Sunday! This is the day to sit and contemplate what you have learned over these past long weeks (since July 25th) of evaluating your deepest values of love and resources.

Has your relationship survived?

Has your bank account survived?

Have you come up with new ways to work with your own deepest values?

Have you learned what is truly important to you?

The next few weeks will be spent assimilating what you have learned, what you have seen that can’t be unseen, and what changes you now understand must be made.

The Moon enters Cancer at 12:40 PM EST bringing our emotions close to the surface. The restlessness of the Gemini Moon of the past few days has given way to the need for domestic security.

You long for the feeling of belonging and safety. You will want to stay close to home, connecting with your closest loved ones.

Show love freely.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!

If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!

Monday, August 31, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Pisces) following a trine to Saturn at 1:54 AM EST, until she enters Aries at 3:33 AM EST.

Tuesday, September 1, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Aries) following a conjunction to Uranus at 11:38 AM EST, until she enters Taurus at 4:01 AM EST on Wednesday September 2, 2015.

Friday, September 4, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Taurus) following an opposition to Saturn at 5:21 AM EST, until she enters Gemini at 6:47 AM EST.

Saturday, September 5, the Moon is VOC* (in Gemini) following a sextile to Uranus at 6:04 PM EST until she enters Cancer on Sunday September 6, 2015 at 12:40 PM EST.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 4, 2015 through May 10, 2015

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 4, 2015 through May 10, 2015

As we come closer to the next Mercury retrograde (May 18th – June 11th), there are a few things I would like to talk about.

With the proliferation of astrological information on the internet, it is easy to get carried away with every astrological whim that comes along. Mercury retrograde is always a popular topic.

For many years I have tried to move the conversation of Mercury retrograde in a more positive direction; to help folks learn to work with the energies available rather than simply seeing it as a time of negativity.

There has been a move in a more positive attitude toward Mercury retrograde in many quarters, although we still hear plenty of fear and drama.

One thing I haven’t discussed until now is the issue of the Mercury retrograde shadow. This refers to the time (before the retrograde period) when Mercury reaches the point that it retrogrades back to; and the time following the retrograde period until it reaches the point where it went retrograde in the first place.

Example:
This upcoming Mercury retrograde starts on May 18 with Mercury at 13° Gemini; Mercury will turn direct on June 11 at 4° Gemini. The Mercury pre-retrograde shadow begins when Mercury hits 4° of Gemini (Monday May 4th); the post-Mercury shadow will last until June 26th when Mercury reaches 13° Gemini.

I have watched the issue of the Mercury retrograde shadow for many years and am finally ready to say that I don’t find any significant value in fussing over this shadow business.

Bottom line: I think we are just fine dealing with Mercury retrograde without worrying about the shadow period.

I understand that a great many excellent astrologers do work with the shadow. I don’t. There are so many issues in astrology and I feel the need to choose those parts that seem the most significant and leave the rest aside!

So, from my perspective, Mercury slows down a few days beforehand, and turns retrograde on May 18th at 13° Gemini and turns direct once again on June 11 at 4° Gemini. That is all we need to concern ourselves with. So give yourself a rest! Don’t worry about Mercury retrograde until it gets here!

Now, onward to the week!

PRACTICE KINDNESS AND OPEN COMMUNICATION
Monday, May 4, 2015:
Get out your journal and go back to July 24, 2014, give or take a day or two. In what ways was your life circumstances or the essence of your being expanding at that time?

In mid-November, what action did you take to push that expansion forward? In early February, you probably saw your path fully illuminated, the creative expression released. Now with some time to gain perspective, a bit of realism may have you questioning the path you so passionately embraced. This could easily feel somewhat terrifying as you have probably put many eggs in that one basket!

Do not worry, but also do not deny the questions that are being raised. Take a clear look at the reality of where that seed planted in late July has brought you. Realistically consider the adjustments that must be made. Do not throw the baby out with the bathwater!

If you pay attention and talk with others, you will find that many people are questioning the direction that they so enthusiastically embarked upon last summer! Don’t worry; the cycle continues to unfold with new surprises and adjustments ahead.

Monday’s Moon in Scorpio opposes Mars at 9:50 PM EDT. Be aware of your tendency towards unhealthy, passive aggressive communications.

Practice openhearted kindness and clear direct communication. This may not come easily and is best developed through continual practice.
Pay attention; be kind.

EXPAND YOUR PERSPECTIVE
Tuesday, May 5, 2015:
At 7:13 AM EDT, on Tuesday the Moon enters Sagittarius. Our hearts expand and we seek to enlarge our perspective of our world. We long for new experiences.

With the Moon conjunct Saturn at 12:37 PM EDT, there is a challenge to our ability to fully understand this new perspective. Tuesday would be an excellent day to challenge your understanding of different cultural perspectives and of those who live in your midst but have a very different worldview.

Given where we find ourselves at this time, it is important to pay attention to your understanding of racism within yourself and within the culture. It is difficult for many of us to look directly at our own deep-rooted subconscious attitudes and prejudices.

We must open our hearts and minds to understand the depth of disparity between our own experience and the experience of others.

Talk openly and with true, honest curiosity and compassion to those who have a very different view from your own. This open exploration of our inner attitudes is imperative to the future of all humankind.

OPEN YOUR MIND TO UNDERSTANDING OTHER WORLD VIEWS
Wednesday, May 6, 2015:
Wednesday offers us a powerful day indeed! The Taurus Sun makes a beautiful trine aspect to Pluto early on Wednesday morning. Think back to the first week in January 2015. Was there an occurrence or a circumstance at that time that felt like the beginning of deep empowerment and understanding?

This week, (particularly on Wednesday), it is good to consider what began at that time and how you are moving that issue forward in your life.

Three Dancers with Hair in Braids by Edgar Degas

Three Dancers with Hair in Braids by Edgar Degas

Keep the results clearly in mind. We are getting close. The full illumination of this cycle comes in early July. What is it you need to do now to push for that full expression to be exactly as empowering as you know it can be?

On Wednesday, the Moon in Sagittarius makes lovely aspects to expansive Jupiter and quirky unusual Uranus. Contemplate all the ways in which your life could change and expand through the exploration of other cultures and coming to understand people from other worlds.

WORK LATE; ACCOMPLISH MUCH
Thursday, May 7, 2015:
We begin Thursday with the Moon still in Sagittarius going VOC* at 1:52 PM EDT (following an opposition to Venus). She enters Capricorn at 2:17 PM EDT. The afternoon then becomes more serious. You may want to stay at work late, as it is easy to remain focused on administrative or organizational tasks.

If you have a big project you are working on, Thursday afternoon is great for working on the foundation of that project.

There is much we each need to get done before Mercury goes retrograde on May 19th. This would be a good afternoon for setting the stage to make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

At 6:51 PM EDT, Venus happily enters Cancer where she will remain until June 5th. During this time, we may notice our attention turning to beautifying our home, spending time with family, sharing meals and memories.

We notice an increased appreciation for our loved ones and the nurturing care that we can offer. Look for ways to show love and care from the heart. Remember, with Venus in Cancer love is shown in maternal ways; prepare a meal; love and food are deeply connected here.

ACCOMPLISHMENT AND AMBITION
Friday, May 8, 2015:
We end the work-week with serious energy to get things done; our work ethic is strong. It is best to work alone today, if at all possible.

We don’t need the distraction of others as we push forward. We should feel solid and grounded and yet aware of the full ramifications of the direction we are pushing in.

As the Capricorn Moon once again challenges the energies of Pluto and Uranus, we cannot deny the stress we feel. Working alone should allow less conflict to darken your door. Much can be accomplished on your own with focus and dedication; if you must work with others use the stress between you as a way to expand awareness.

Maturity and simple communication skills will go a long way. Revel in accomplishment and ambition!

DISSOLVE BOUNDARIES; STEP FORWARD
Saturday, May 9, 2015:
What was the dream that began in late March 2015? At that time, we many have received the mere glimmer of a dream that we have since been exploring.

At 12:08 PM EDT, Mercury squares Neptune asking that we take a concrete step toward developing that dream. When we are dealing with Neptune, we cannot expect direct clarity. Neptune is meant to dissolves boundaries.

Noon: Rest by Vincent van Gogh

Noon: Rest by Vincent van Gogh

Think about the lack of boundaries within our dreams. Don’t try to reason the direction or the step that must be taken. It must be felt within your heart or simply sensed internally. If you are still unclear, take time in meditation to allow a pathway for simple awareness.

The Moon is in Capricorn going VOC* following a trine to Mars at 4:34 PM EDT. This is another short VOC* as the Moon enters Aquarius at 7:21 PM EDT.

Enjoy an evening of unusual pleasures and new companions. Allow yourself to move forward with full confidence in your own individual path. This is a very individual path, it is important that we not allow others to dictate our step or direction.

MOTHER’S DAY: AN EXPANDED VIEW
Sunday, May 10, 2015:
Sunday is Mother’s Day. This Mother’s Day does not hold the energy we may expect, we may see the whole issue from a different perspective. This is not the day where you will be satisfied to shower love and affection on one individual mother.

Yes, of course you want to take your mother out to breakfast and show her your full appreciation for a lifetime of caring for you. But this Mother’s Day is bigger than that. This Mother’s Day take the time to show appreciation for all folks who dedicate their lives to raising healthy, intelligent humans.

This is about more than your individual mother; it is about everyone who has dedicated huge amounts of energy to care for and raise children. I think we all know that parenting is the hardest job in the world and yet millions of people undertake this amazingly honorable work.

Sunday, once you have fulfilled your duties of honoring the value of parenting, you will want to continue on your own path. Explore new ways of seeing and experiencing the world around you.
