Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: January 8, 2018 through January 14, 2018

“There is no measuring with time, no year matters, and 10 years are nothing. Being an artist means, not reckoning and counting, but ripening like the tree which does not force its sap and stands confident in the storms of Spring without the fear that after them may come no Summer. It does come. But it comes only to the patient, who are there as though eternity lay before them, so unconcernedly still and wide. I learn it daily, learn it with pain to which I am grateful: patience is everything!”

2018 is bringing great change, possible growth, and focus on some area of your life. Prepare to make the most of these powerful shifting winds with a consultation with Laurie at Astrolore!

Set up your appointment today.

The night sky is very quiet right now with Jupiter and Mars coming over the horizon in the early morning hours. Venus is currently situated directly on the other side of the Sun from Earth. She will slowly edge away from the Sun’s glare over the coming weeks. By late February, she will begin her brilliant evening display which will last through September of 2018.

Monday, January 8, 2018:

Monday brings us into a powerhouse of a week as Venus, the planet of love and beauty, joins with the Sun in its Superior Conjunction, when it is on the other side of the Sun. This aspect becomes fully expressed early Tuesday.

The Sun and Venus join with Pluto early on Tuesday as well, impacting the early part of the week powerfully.

Along with the deep and empowered conversation, these three planets are having, the Sun and Venus each form a supportive sextile aspect to expansive Jupiter.

Venus and the Sun, later in the week, also sextile with assertive Mars as Mars and Jupiter travel together through the deep waters of Scorpio.

There is a powerful opportunity here for the serious empowerment of love and of the feminine to break down the overblown patriarchal connection to negative sexuality, violence, and unhealthy aggression.

While in Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto are all in Saturn’s domicile of Capricorn, prepare to watch how integrity is rewarded and lack of integrity receives its comeuppance.

This is the year that we each must tell the truth and receive the supportive gifts or wrath of the Universe.

You may experience a sense of great relief along with these three sextiles on Monday morning. Consider how the sextile of the Sun and Venus to Jupiter turns your attention toward what brings meaning to your life and asks you to seek out others who share your passions and your goals.

Another sextile is formed between Mars and Pluto offering assistance as you commit yourself to the direction of those passions and goals.

There will likely be some stress in the evening as the Libra Moon, wanting to make everyone happy, encounters others who may not want to support the agenda. Relax and allow the more powerful conversations of the day to hold the space for powerful movement.

Tuesday, January 9, 2018:

The significant conjunction between the Sun, Venus, and Pluto is exact in the early hours of Tuesday morning. This brings powerful development as love and the feminine break down elements of negative masculinity, the misuse of sexuality, and violence.

In the coming months with Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto all in Saturn’s domicile of Capricorn, integrity must overtake control and greed. We must each do our part to uphold our love for the Universe and each other.

The Moon lingers in diplomatic Libra until mid-afternoon, forming a gently agreeable sextile to Mercury at 11:13 AM EST. This allows for engagement in conversations that encourage understanding and connection.

At 3:06 PM EST, the Moon leaves agreeable Libra behind and enters passionate Scorpio, closely followed by Venus sextile Mars at 4:07 PM EST. The conversations suggested for Tuesday afternoon may lead to romance or at the very least a purposeful and passionate connection. A pleasantly assertive Sun sextile Mars shortly after midnight,t heightens the possibility of romance.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 11:13 AM EST until she enters Scorpio at 3:06 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Wednesday, January 10, 2018:

Following the intensity of Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday offers a day to rest and allow yourself to daydream and reflect.

Sunset at Christmas Eve, Honolulu, Hawaii woodblock print by Arman Manookian via Wiki Media

At 2:40 PM EST, the Scorpio Moon forms a flowing trine aspect to dreamy, sensitive Neptune.

Allow yourself to get lost in daydreaming, watch a film, engage in whatever activity brings you to a place of ‘flow’; spend time in meditation, listen to soothing music, or create something that comes from your deepest sense of mystical oneness.

Thursday will remove your access to easy mental flow as Mercury entering Capricorn, where it will remain until January 31st, brings your mind to the stern edge of reality. Integrity remains in the limelight for each of us and the culture at large.

Thursday, January 11, 2018:

I hope you were able to enjoy the sense of flow that was available on Wednesday as it may be the last opportunity for such bliss, at least until Mercury enters Aquarius at the end of January.

As you begin the day, Mercury has joined Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto in cautious, serious Capricorn. This is a large pile-up in a very restrictive sign. If you know what house Capricorn holds in your chart, you will understand where the focus of hard work and increasing responsibility lies. This is the area of your life that came into focus in late December and will require ongoing attention and effort over the next few years. Make sure you are engaging in this area of your life with the highest integrity, maturity, and sustained effort. The reality of your situation will show where you need to deepen your attention and tell the truth about your commitment.

The Scorpio Moon forms a passionate conjunction with Mars at 7:35 AM EST. This will awaken you with strong energy to move forward. Shortly thereafter, she forms lovely sextile aspects to both the Sun and Venus, suggesting pleasant, intimate interactions with those you love. Take advantage, it should be a sweet morning leading into a quiet afternoon and evening.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:54 AM EST until she enters Sagittarius at 2:04 AM EST on Friday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Friday, January 12, 2018:

By the time you begin the day on Friday, the Moon is in idealistic, freedom-seeking Sagittarius. This suggests an emotional need for autonomy, physical space, and exploration. Sagittarius is an optimistic sign and brings relief after the intensity of the past few days with the Scorpio Moon. You are more apt to see the humor and lightness of your circumstances and are ready to explore a more expansive view of the world and those around you.

Although the day is likely to be relatively upbeat, by evening, you may feel Mercury’s connection to Saturn looming. Communications and conversations seem to highlight the differences between yourself and others. There are indeed serious issues to consider but try not to fall into the trap of pessimistic thinking.

Be aware of your own self-talk and how you speak to others. Offer open-hearted kindness and resist the temptation to judge them. Remember, you know only your own mind and your own life, there is no space to judge the lives of others. Seek out true compassion.

Saturday, January 13, 2018:

Your best bet this weekend is to spend time alone.

Saturday begins with a heightened awareness of how differently you think from those around you and conflict arises easily. You may feel pessimistic and easily frustrated or aggravated. This is reflected in the early-morning conjunction from Mercury to Saturn.

The day does not get easier from there. At 2:08 PM EST, Venus forms a troubling square aspect to Uranus putting you at odds with your loved ones. We will all need a sense of autonomy and freedom. Taking time for yourself is the smartest choice you can make.

It is unlikely that you and those you love will want to go in the same direction, so go ahead and go your separate ways. Allowing that to be okay and supporting each other in this choice will support each of you. There is no need to explain yourself. We all need time alone.

As Venus sextiles Chiron at 9:51 PM EST, any issues of abandonment that came from the separation are able to be healed. Connect deeply on Saturday night as you will again need time alone on Sunday.

Sunday, January 14, 2018:

If you assume that needing time alone was a one-off for Saturday, you’ll be in for a surprise when the same need shows up on Sunday thanks to a restless, unsettling square between the serious Capricorn Sun and detached eccentric Uranus.

The Moon enters Capricorn at 2:43 PM EST increasing a need for emotional distance. Again, give yourself and others lots of physical and emotional space. This would be a good day to work on individual, innovative projects that require long-term effort.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:48 AM EST until she enters Capricorn at 2:43 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Monday, July 11, 2016:

The week begins on an interesting note indeed. The Moon is in Libra throughout the day suggesting a natural state of balance and calm. However, I suspect this will not necessarily be the case.

At 3:28 AM EDT, Mercury, which represents our mind functions and communications, forms a challenging square transit to Uranus, the planet of innovation and discord. We can expect excitement that threatens to cause upheaval within our minds or communications with others.

Last week on Thursday, Mercury opposed Pluto. Now, a new conversation or thinking pattern comes into focus that is an extension and expansion of the deep conversation at that time. What were you thinking about last Thursday? How has it led to excitement or anxiety now? Perhaps, there is something new that you need to be thinking about or a new study that is calling you.

At 8:52 PM EDT, the Libra Moon comes to the First Quarter phase. The Libra Moon forms an aspect of struggle or argument to the Cancer Sun. Is there a conflict between your emotional desires and your social or romantic needs?  You must allow each side of this challenge space to express itself and grow. Take a significant step forward in what you began at the Cancer New Moon on Monday, July 4th. We are all in the same boat, so be patient with others.

Tuesday, July 12, 2016:

Tuesday begins with the Moon still in Libra, mirroring the excitement or discord of Monday as she opposes Uranus in the early morning hours.

The top significance of Tuesday is the entrance of Venus into Leo where she will remain until August 5th. While Venus was in Cancer (starting on June 17th), our expression of love was sensitive, emotional, and sentimental. As Venus enters Leo, we turn the expression of love to playful generosity. We want to show, provide, and receive grandiose, dramatic, and playful expressions of love. We are drawn to flamboyance and our need for recognition and appreciation is powerful.

The Moon enters Scorpio at 4:53 PM EDT bringing our emotional nature into deep, intense waters. We are not interested in superficial contact; we long for intimacy and yet, may be fearful of the vulnerability necessary to develop that intimacy. Expressing authentic vulnerability is the quickest way to true authentic intimacy.

On Wednesday, the Scorpio Moon forms a dreamy trine aspect to Neptune at 4:46 PM EDT. With both the Moon and Neptune in water signs, we may experience a sweet flow, a space of dreaminess or spiritual transcendence. Perhaps, you just want to open that bottle of wine as soon as you get home from work! This is a brief aspect but can feel sweet enough to pay attention to. ☺

At 8:46 PM EDT, Mercury follows Venus into Leo bringing our thoughts to the dramatic, playful expression of love. Leo is a fixed Fire sign, hot and steadfast. With Mercury in Leo, our minds burn deep and steady. We want to express loyalty, playfulness, and generosity in our interactions. Our communications and our imaginations increase in Leo. The stories we tell become more colorful and we may be prone to exaggeration. We feel the heat of fire increase!

On July 22nd, the Sun will also move into Leo bringing Venus, Mercury, and the Sun to the party. Speaking of a party, go ahead and plan one between July 22nd and July 30th. Take advantage of this line up of Leo planets.  What a delight.

Thursday, July 14, 2016:

The Moon will be in Scorpio all day on Thursday forming lovely aspects to Pluto, Jupiter, and the Sun during the early part of the day.  Emotional depth and an intuitive understanding of those around you could result in a rich day of connecting with others.

The evening brings a very different energy. As 6:22 PM EDT, the Moon conjunct Mars. The best use of this would be to engage your sexual or physical energy. If that is not an option you may encounter anger, frustration, or discord. If you see this anger or frustration in yourself, get out of the situation and go for a walk or a run. If you see it in others give them space and a bit of time.

Keep in mind that this is a Moon transit. They do not last long; given an hour or so, the whole issue will pass.  As you release the anger you may be able to use this energy to dig deeply and honestly into the issue and find deep insight.

Friday, July 15, 2016:

When you wake up Friday morning, everything feels lighter!  You can sense the fun, expansiveness, and adventures available. The Moon enters Sagittarius at 5:15 AM EDT leaving the intensity and depth of Scorpio behind. Throughout the day, the only aspects formed are lovely trines to both Mercury and Venus in Leo.

This is a day to open your heart and mind to exploration and adventure. Pack your bags, head out on the open road and find an adventure.

Freedom, independence, and extravagance are the goals. Your enthusiasm, sense of humor, and generosity are contagious.

Let loose; take the day off. Work is not the place to be. You need to enjoy this one.

Saturday, July 16, 2016:

Saturday promises to be a powerful day. With the Sun in sensitive Cancer forming a square aspect to rebellious Uranus, issues of identity and ego may be powerfully challenged. Give plenty of space to yourself and others who may be responding and behaving in unusual or unpredictable ways.

How has your need for domestic security prevented you from taking certain exciting and possibly, necessary risks?  Ask yourself if that is currently in your best interests. This contemplation could bring about an unexpected shift in your awareness and understanding of yourself and others.

At 5:59 PM EDT, when Mercury conjunct Venus you are ready to express what your heart truly desires without apology.

When the Cancer Sun trines Mars in Scorpio at 11:44 PM EDT, I hope you will be embroiled in a delightful intimate sexual encounter or ‘cutting a rug’ on a dance floor!

This should be a lovely night for physical expression. Do drive safely if you’re on the road, as you may feel invincible. Play safely!

Sunday, July 17, 2016:

Whatever your contemplations, along with whatever you ‘got up to’ on Saturday night reverberate on a deep emotional level on Sunday.  You are presented with the opportunity for a powerful healing response with a Water Grand Trine between the Sun in Cancer, Chiron in Pisces, and Mars in Scorpio. You may feel highly sensitive as you work with deep layers of emotion that are being activated through your thinking and your activities of Saturday.

At 3:33 PM EDT, the Moon enters Capricorn as we pull ourselves together in preparation for the more serious days ahead. Regardless of how much we have explored, experienced, and even transformed over the past few days, now we are reminded of reality, responsibility, and necessary solitude.

We must consider the importance – and even comfort – of maturity and integrity.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

Welcome to the first full week of 2016!

We begin the week with the Moon in Scorpio where she remains throughout Monday and Tuesday allowing us the time we need to contemplate the process ahead.

On Tuesday, even as your fantasies soften the burden, your ideas, and how you communicate them, encounter some rocky ground. Release any rigidity in your mind and welcome the paradox that is ever present.

Mercury turns retrograde on Tuesday, your teeth may feel set on edge if you have not prepared. Do take the time to prepare your projects for completion over the coming weeks. Remember, this is not the time to start new projects but the time for completing projects, communications, and all endeavors that have already begun. Mercury is retrograde for approximately 3 weeks and will turn direct on January 25th.

This is a powerful and potentially problematic week (Sun making contact with Pluto and Uranus) that could bring all kinds of secrets to the surface and force us to look into some of the deeper corners of our lives and psyches that we may prefer to avoid.

Do what is necessary; open to the reality of your situation and ride the wave of your life. We are reminded of the transformative power that has profoundly moved our lives, and the world, in new directions over the past several years (Uranus square Pluto 2012 – 2015).

Wednesday and Thursday, the Moon transits Sagittarius engaging our emotions in a desire to explore different perspectives on the situations we find ourselves in.

Friday and Saturday, the Moon is in Capricorn even as Mercury backs into Capricorn once more. These are serious days at the Darkest Phase of the Moon. Mercury enters Capricorn, Venus is conjunct Saturn; and we have no choice but to look at what is most serious, significant, and real in our lives.

On Saturday at 8:30 PM EST, we come to the New Moon at 19° Capricorn. As we begin this new lunar cycle, we must pay attention to our ambitions and the very real integrity that is demanded as we move forward.

Sunday afternoon, the Moon enters Aquarius and we move into a lighter, easier energy to end the week.

Are you concerned or unclear about your path ahead?

Monday, January 4, 2016:

I don’t think it is ever easy for us to head back to our routine lives after the holidays finally come to a close. On Monday, with the Moon in Scorpio and the Sun rapidly approaching a conjunction to Pluto and a square to Uranus, we could all use extra time for inner work but reality awaits, with intensity and transformation on the horizon.

Your thoughts are active, your dreams are palatable, and you know that your life and the lives of those around you are fluctuating madly.

Monday begins with deep contemplation of the transformation that you so viscerally feel is right at your fingertips. For today, seek simplicity. The Scorpio Moon is forming pleasant and gentle aspects to Neptune, the Sun, and Pluto throughout the day.

Head home or to a place of comfort as early as you can on Monday. Practice excellent self-care, get plenty of rest, and pay careful attention to what your body, mind, and spirit seek.

As the week begins, we deeply contemplate the transformation that is possible, if not inevitable. Keep your expectations simple and direct.

Tuesday, January 5, 2016:

Yes, Mercury turns retrograde at 8:06 AM EST. I hope you have moved beyond pure negativity regarding Mercury retrograde. Mercury will be retrograde until January 25th.

No, this is not a great time to make purchases such as cars, computers, electronics, or homes. However, this is not a period of time to hide under the bed in anticipation of everything going wrong! Simply focus your attention on getting accomplished what has been left undone since the last Mercury retrograde.

Do not take on new projects. This can be a time of great accomplishments if we pay attention.

On Tuesday, be aware of the impact your words and communications have on others. This is a complex day.

Venus square Neptune at 9:33 AM EST as you float within a daydream or release one you have been holding onto for some time. The path forward may not seem clear as you attempt to open your heart to a level of freedom, within the context of love, which has been previously unknown to you. Allow yourself to see the beauty of this path without restraint.

At 10:28 PM EST, the Sun conjunct Pluto; throughout this week, you will be reminded of the power and difficulties of the past several years. Contemplate the transformation in your own life, in the world, and in your community that began in 2012. The work is not yet complete.

This first week of 2016, we once again have the opportunity to look clearly and consider exactly where this transformation is bringing us and how we choose to travel this path.

With both Uranus and Pluto involved, the recommendations always come down to: ride the energies like a wave. Do not fight against what clearly needs to be managed. Embrace the joy and the difficulty involved.

Wednesday, January 6, 2016:

Pay careful attention to anything that aggravates you or catches you off-guard on Wednesday. Look for clues in your environment; where do you need to pay attention?

With the Sun conjunct Pluto on Tuesday and forming a square with Uranus on Thursday, anything that gets under your skin has a message or a lesson to teach you. The world has changed in the past 3 ½ years; your personal life has transformed in ways that leave you feeling like you’re living an entirely different life. Where in your life do you still need to be paying attention to lessons on empowerment and individuation?

The Moon is in Sagittarius on Wednesday. Engage your heart in open exploration of ideas and beliefs that are foreign to your current understanding.

Thursday, January 7, 2016:

On Thursday morning at 7:22 AM EST, the Sun squares Uranus suggesting the necessity to continue working with the major transformation of the past several years. It feels like this process has been going on forever. This ongoing transformation is so deep and all-consuming that it simply takes this much time.

This cycle between the Sun and Uranus – the cycle of bringing your own individuation front and center in your life – began in April 2015.

Whatever began in April, came to full illumination in October. It is time now to begin the process of release in order to prepare for the next cycle of individuation, which will begin in April 2016.

Jupiter turns retrograde at 11:40 PM EST and will remain retrograde until May 9, 2016. Jupiter turns retrograde every 13 months and remains so for approximately 4 months. These periods are ideal for philosophical or spiritual reflection.

Jupiter’s retrograde allows extra time for internal introspection in whatever area of your life has been most recently expanding. If you have felt out of control, compulsive, or have been dealing with addictive behaviors, you will now have time to recognize, understand, and work with these issues.

Take advantage of this opportunity and look deeply within. Expand with awareness.

Friday, January 8, 2016:

Your thoughts, communications, and emotional needs are probably less than lighthearted as you approach the weekend.

The Moon enters Capricorn at 10:06 AM EST on Friday. At 2:36 PM EST , Mercury retrogrades back into Capricorn.  Happily, Venus is in Sagittarius, so your personal values, as they are reflected in your intimate relationships, allow space for exploration and play. Yet, within the context of that exploration, your communications and your deepest needs demand integrity, clarity, and serious intent.

At 11:10 PM EST, Venus conjunct Saturn; this echoes the connection between love and integrity. No matter how fun and free you feel with a partner, this is a time of serious development in relationship.

On Friday, we begin a new cycle of sincere and thoughtful stabilization or maturing of love or money and resources. Whatever you choose to begin now will mature and ripen over the coming months.

We are also in the dark phase of the Moon. This weekend you will need time for internal contemplation. You do not need to be alone; a partner or close friend will bring much value to your contemplations and your contemplations will bring much value to your relationship with that partner or friend.

Allow and seek open hearted trust and kindness.

Saturday, January 9, 2016:

The New Moon at 19° Capricorn occurs at 8:30 PM EST. This offers a day of internal contemplation and serious consideration. We have just begun a New Year; it is important to consider the expectations you have for yourself and others.

Do you live your life with the level of honesty that feels appropriate to you? Are you clear of the deeper principles that guide your life? Do you truly live by those principles?

Taking time alone on Saturday afternoon for this contemplation will be time well spent. This is not a weekend for frivolity.

Ask yourself and seriously consider what you are developing in your life that will stabilize and support you in the coming months and years. Face the reality of your situation and work from your highest level of integrity, sincerity, and honesty.

Sunday, January 10, 2016:

Sunday should be a simple day to reconnect with yourself after a relatively challenging week and a very serious weekend.

The morning begins with expanded awareness and the necessity to communicate important issues. Yes, Mercury is retrograde. This highlights the necessity to pay attention and understand how your communications are being received. Make sure that your intention is conveyed properly and that you have been understood.

At 3:23 PM EST, the Moon enters Aquarius releasing us from the need to take ourselves as seriously as we have over the past two days.

With the Moon is in Aquarius, you may be attracted to the unusual, you have an instinctive need to analyze and understand your circumstances and life from an intellectual perspective. Your responses are based on your thoughts rather than your emotions at this time. Seek out social gatherings, brainstorm new ideas, and plan your goals for the future.

Personal freedom is very important as you end the week. All the seriousness around relationships from Friday and Saturday has probably kicked up your need for escape and freedom as well. These things ebb and flow; as we make serious intimate connections so we pull away, afraid of losing autonomy.

Sunday evening will be a great time to exercise freedom and autonomy. Go off alone or join in the company of personal like-minded, intellectually based friends.

Flowers by Yvonne Nelson

Flowers by Yvonne Nelson

Last week our values were challenged; although, we were given the opportunity to expand our understanding of those values and our willingness and ability to express love.

Now, we are all able to marry whom we love, regardless of gender. This is a huge shift and a clear reflection of the lovely Trine between Uranus and Jupiter. With Venus activating that trine last week, love really did win (#lovewins) as we expanded our understanding and value of the depth and meaning of love.

This week brings our attention back to the realm of powerful, sudden, and unusual change; excitement, stress, and upheaval may all play a role in the developing story of our lives.

On Monday, the Sun opposes Pluto, and the following Sunday, the Sun squares Uranus. The week is sandwiched between these two powerful aspects of deep struggle and the insistence on change.

Over the past several years (between 2012 and 2015), we have individually and as a collective, made tremendous transformative progress. This week we continue to work with our developing understanding of the newest version of our transformed values, beliefs, and our way of living in the world.

Since 2012, Uranus and Pluto have connected in a dance of powerful transformation. We are still moving through this time as we learn to see the social structures that hold power over our lives. We learn to speak truth to power, even in the face of our own fear. We see the power structures and understand that we must hold steady as we work with the consequences of our clarity and honesty.

I must admit a bit of concern, not necessarily for our personal dramas, but for the overall social structures and the larger world this week. Keep your eyes on the world stage.

On Wednesday, Mercury follows Mars into Cancer (where it will remain until July 23rd) bringing our mind into a bit of a moody place. Don’t get lost in melancholy or nostalgia. Attach the mind to kindness and compassion.

Monday, July 6, 2015:

The week begins with the Moon in Pisces. This does not make it easy to start the week. Perhaps, if we could only stay home we would avoid the intensity that we feel right at our fingertips.

At 11:38 AM EDT, the Sun opposes Pluto. It is important to look deeply into issues of power and empowerment. Consider how and where power dynamics play out in the world and in your personal life. This is an aspect that will bleed through the entire week. We are called to look into dark places we may prefer to avoid.

However, it is important to remember that avoiding fear and power does not make them go away. Bringing light to this power is what we must do. On January 3rd of this year, we began the cycle between the Sun and Pluto, which is now releasing its creative energy. What began at the beginning of January in your life? Can you see the full result now?

Get clear about any power dynamics in your life. If you see the abuse of power, it is important that you do what you can to shine a light on that issue.

Look clearly at the dynamics of power in politics, government, or finances. This is bound to be an interesting week with the Sun opposing Pluto on Monday and the Sun squaring Uranus on Sunday.

The image in my mind is the warmth of the Sun shining on issues of power and destruction as we begin the week. As we end the week, I see the Sun shining light and warmth on areas of revolution and excitement that can disrupt even the largest power structures

Tuesday, July 7, 2015:

Tuesday’s Aries Moon adds a very assertive edge to the intensity we are feeling toward those who have power over the lives of others. We don’t have to look too far to see power being abused by governments, religious institutions, corporations, and even within our families.

If we take a moment of deep honesty, we may see the reflection of this abuse of power within ourselves. Don’t try to hide from this. It is possible to look clearly and begin working to dismantle this internal abuse of power. Until we see it within ourselves, we will continue to feel powerless when we encounter it outside of ourselves.

At 10:35 AM EDT, the Moon goes VOC*until she enters Aries at 12:38 PM EDT. Tuesday afternoon we can shake off the cloud of Piscean dust and head into the afternoon and evening with more energy and enough assertiveness to pull us forward.

Be clear about what you want on Tuesday evening. Make a declaration and ask for it. Allow yourself to get what you want.

One word of warning, however, please understand that this is the common environment we are all in. Therefore, be aware that those around you are feeling this stress and may also need to push against limits. Give those around you enough slack to move through their own process at the pace that is required for them.

Tuesday is an excellent evening to spend time alone working on your own individual projects and process.

Wednesday, July 8, 2015:

On Wednesday, the Moon is in Aries, and we feel powerful and we do not want to take ‘no’ for an answer.

At 2:51 PM EDT, Mercury enters Cancer, following Mars who arrived in Cancer last week. Although we are not willing to take ‘no’ for an answer, it may be a struggle to be direct in our communication. Carefully watch any tendency you may have to blame others or to deal with your disappointments in a passive aggressive manner.

With Mars in Cancer, is not easy to say what needs to be said or do what needs to be done directly, we tend to approach everything from a side angle rather than head-on!

Astrology helps us to see ourselves so clearly that we lose the ability to blame others. This is one of the great gifts of astrology. In order to learn this language, it is necessary to understand yourself in a very deep manner.

At 4:24 PM EDT, the Moon squares the Sun bringing us to the Third Quarter Square of the Lunar Cycle. The Moon in Aries squares the Sun in Cancer and we struggle with a feeling of being pushed and pulled between a space of kindness or melancholy into a space of selfishness or aggression.

However, at 6:42 PM EDT, Mars trine Neptune. This has the potential of softening the struggle between the Sun and the Moon. Actions that are taken may seem harmless and even beautiful. We want to take action from a place of imagination, compassion, and love.

Plan for an easy evening at home with great music or a movie that takes you well outside yourself. If you have Netflix watch With One Voice. Powerful!

Thursday, July 9, 2015:

As the Moon passes through Aries Thursday morning, she activates Venus and Jupiter in Leo. Anticipate excitement, restlessness, or anxiety.

At 9:47 AM EDT, the Moon goes VOC* until she enters Taurus at 3:49 PM EDT. Perhaps this is the afternoon (after 3:49PM EDT) to buy that new car! Now that I’m out in the deep woods of Vermont on a dirt road, I’m going to need a 4-wheel drive vehicle before next Winter comes (and it comes early here)! I also must get rid of my leased car as I’m putting way too many miles on it! J Yes, this must get managed soon and this looks like the day!

Thursday evening we can expect to be relatively laid-back and quiet. Make sure you build that into your schedule. Spend time alone or with family/loved ones. No need for conversation, you are better off sharing food, beauty, or touch. Plan for cooking, massage, or gardening.

Friday, July 10, 2015:

Pay attention and consider the fact that Venus is beginning to slow down, preparing to turn retrograde on July 25th. Consider how you think about your personal resources, money, and love. All of this will be coming under the microscope as your values are scrutinized and renegotiated over the coming months (Venus will be retrograde into September)

Friday and Saturday of this week would be a great time to do the things you may want to avoid doing during that Venus retrograde.

The Moon is in Taurus all day on Friday and most of Saturday. If possible, take Friday off and give yourself a long weekend. We could all use this weekend most productively for home projects, building projects, walks in the woods, and/or gardening.

If you plan for an exciting Friday evening, you may be disappointed. You will do better to spend the evening with your most grounded, stable friends. Then head to sleep early, as Saturday you will need your energy for accomplishing projects and building stability. Take advantage of this!

Saturday, July 11, 2015:

Think ahead and plan this Saturday as a workday! With the Moon in Taurus forming challenging aspects to several planets, we are pushed forward. Even as we seek pleasure and rest, we understand that we must work with true diligence.

Do you have house projects that need your attention? Put your nose to the grindstone, work hard, and get as much accomplished as you can before 5:53 PM EDT.

Rest then and be ready to go out at 8:17 PM EDT, to spend time with old friends and new. Yes, at 8:17 PM EDT the Moon enters Gemini and we are ready for conversations, engagement, and sharing idea and fun.

Has the intensity of the early part of the week let-up? Has the intensity of Sunday kicked in?

Does it feel like excitement, or a bit more like panic? As long as you’re not fighting against the big changes in your life; as long as you are embracing and moving toward the change, this will be an exciting and fun weekend. Plan for it!

Sunday July 12, 2015:

The Moon is in Gemini on Sunday setting up a day of curiosity and conversation. Remember that on Monday the Sun opposed Pluto, now, nearly a week later the Sun squares Uranus.

This is a time to bring your most unusual individual perspective to whatever intensity or darkness was exposed on Monday. Seek a way of viewing the world that will enable you to break the chains that hold you within the power structure that confine you.

Consider early April 2015; at that time the cycle of expanded individuality began. What action must be taken now to move that cycle forward?

Your individuality over the coming months is at stake. Whatever action you take, make sure it is in support of your unique vision of yourself and the life you want to create. Do not allow yourself to be held in a box that is far too small for all of who you are.

Take the path that will lead to creativity and expansion. This is not the time for caution.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!

If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!

Tuesday, July 7, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Pisces) following a trine to Saturn at 10:35 AM EDT until she enters Aries at 12:38 PM EDT

Thursday, July 9, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Aries) following a trine to Venus at 9:47 AM EDT until she enters Taurus at 3:49 PM EDT.

Saturday, July 11, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Taurus) following an opposition to Saturn at 5:53 PM EDT until she enters Gemini at 8:17 PM EDT.

The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Are you at a crossroad in your life? Are your circumstances other than what you expected?
