“We use astrology most constructively and creatively when we gain from it a sense of what is possible for us at the highest levels of our potentialities. Seeing that, the challenges is then to keep our eyes open to life itself, to be able to respond appropriately when some event or change of circumstances…”

Monday, November 20, 2017:

The Moon is in Sagittarius throughout Monday, offering a generally upbeat and lighthearted start to the week.

Keep in mind that the sign the Moon is traveling through on any given day sets the emotional tone for the day. The aspects the Moon makes to other planets brings us face to face with the energy of those planets in a way that is represented by the aspect in question, some supportive and others challenging.

If you wake up very early, the optimistic Sagittarius Moon may be quite talkative, as she meets up with perceptive chatty Mercury at 5:37 AM EST.

Mid-afternoon, the Moon connects with Chiron (the planet that represents a deep felt wound) in Pisces. This suggests a challenge between your opinions and the reality of your circumstance.

At 4:44 PM EST, she forms a beautiful flowing trine to Uranus. You can expect excitement or possibly stress, something that amps up the conversation and the day.

At 7:27 PM EST, she makes her final aspect of the day, joining with Saturn at 26° Sagittarius. You may feel let down or in some manner restricted, sad or lonely. Allow yourself to settle in and look clearly at the reality of the situation. It is not so bad and will pass quickly if you don’t get pulled into any dramas.  Please go out of your way to be extra kind to yourself and those around you on Monday evening.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:27 PM EST until she enters Capricorn on Tuesday morning at 2:14 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Tuesday, November 21, 2017:

The big news on Tuesday comes at 10:04 PM EST. when the Sun, following her long haul through the deep, passionate waters of Scorpio, now enters fun-loving, explorative Sagittarius! Over the coming month, we reach out to understand and see the bigger picture and the perspective of others.

The emotional environment of the day turns serious as the Moon enters hard-working and realistic Capricorn at 2:14 AM EST.

Take time on Tuesday to think back to your situation and circumstances in late November of 2016. At that time, a cycle began that has been profoundly transforming your personal values, resources, or a love relationship. Do you remember something specific beginning at that time?

Since then, the cycle between Venus and Pluto has proceeded forward as the energy between these two grew, the transformation began, culminated, and is now waning. Whatever began at that time came to full fruition in mid-August, 2017. Now, we come to a closing sextile aspect between them.

Graceful Venus and powerful Pluto now offer you the opportunity to begin actively planning for the new cycle that will begin in early January of 2018. This does not mean that what began last year will actually end (although that is a possibility, if it is necessary for your ultimate growth), it will, however, begin a new phase or a new level to your love relationship or your relationship to your resources or values.

Begin now to plan for the future you want. This extends and empowers the cycle between Jupiter and Venus that began last week.

Where do you plan to create more beauty and love in your life?

Metamorphosis by Piet Mondrian via Wiki Media

The sometimes pessimistic Capricorn Moon forms a deeply challenging connection with the occasionally destructive Pluto. Watch any tendencies to engage in coercive power dynamics with others. With the Moon in Capricorn, the way to transform any dark edges of your heart is through disciplined responsibility and integrity.

On Wednesday, at 9:20 AM EST, Neptune stations to turn direct at 11° Pisces. Neptune has been moving retrograde since mid-June, and has been asking you to reevaluate an important dream, artistic venture, or spiritual path.

Consider a significant dream in your heart that has been on hold since that time. Over the coming days, this dream will come back to life and begin pushing forward.

For clues to what area of your life is being activated in this way, consider where Pisces falls in your chart. If you don’t know, allow your intuition to guide you.

Simply contemplate a dream you set aside in June that is now ready to move forward. Begin the process!

Thursday, November 23, 2017:

In the early morning hours of Thursday, the serious Capricorn Moon engages in a stressful conversation with Uranus, the planet of upheaval, excitement, and, sometimes, stress. Don’t get wrapped up in any of it, allow stress to roll off your back. It will pass quickly.

At 3:15 PM EST, the Moon leaves hard-working Capricorn behind to enter innovative, humanitarian Aquarius. You may notice that you are not as attached to your own emotions and are able to be more objective regarding situations and circumstances you find yourself in. You are able to see the big picture without getting stuck in your own personal narrative.

At 7:05 PM EST, the quirky Aquarius Moon forms a lovely sextile aspect to the adventurous Sagittarius Sun opening the evening to the prospect of visionary explorations of people, cultures, and events.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:33 AM EST until she enters the Aquarius at 3:15 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Friday, November 24, 2017:

I don’t generally talk about asteroids, minor planets, or comets, but with Friday’s early morning challenging square aspect from Mercury, the planet of our thoughts and communications, to Chiron, who represents our deep wounds and the healing of those wounds, this transit is worthy of our attention.

Chiron was originally labeled an asteroid and is now classified as a minor planet and a comet. With Thursday’s pattern between Chiron and Mercury in play, communications could hurt or heal; pay attention to your words. Check to make sure you are not misunderstanding others or being misunderstood. It may be difficult to read the intentions behind what is being said, clarity is vitally important.

With the Moon in Aquarius throughout the day, you are apt to be drawn toward what is new and unusual. You have the ability to be a bit more objective or even detached than usual. Spend time with others, plan for a future that includes the growth and importance of community, social gatherings and interactions.

You will require more freedom than usual, don’t try to keep yourself in anyone else’s boxes!

Saturday, November 25, 2017:

Saturday is an incredibly Aquarian day! Not only is the Moon in Aquarius, but she is very active, forming connections with aggressive Mars, refined Venus, out-of-the-ordinary Uranus, mental Mercury, and stabilizing Saturn.

More importantly, Mercury is forming a lovely flowing trine aspects to Uranus (the ruling planet of Aquarius)! Aquarian energies abound.

What are Aquarius’ energies, you ask? Here is a simple list of keywords to consider: progressive, objective, innovative, unusual, revolutionary, and quirky. Days of hyper Aquarian energy tend to bring excitement, anxiety, or a combination of these, to the table.

This is an important day to gather with like-minded others to plan and prepare for a future that supports all of us. This is a day for humanitarian visioning. You are able to see beyond your personal needs and desires and see what is necessary for the good of all. Make a substantial donation (whatever that means in your current circumstances) to a cause that you deeply believe in.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:36 PM EST until she enters Pisces on Sunday morning at 3:04 AM EST.

Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Sunday, November 26, 2017:

Long before you wake up on Sunday morning, the Moon leaves quirky, social Aquarius behind and enters Pisces. At 12:03 PM EST, the Pisces Moon forms a challenging square aspect to the Sagittarius Sun. This brings us to the First Quarter Square of the Lunar Cycle.

Consider what you began at the powerful Scorpio New Moon on Saturday, November 18th. It is important now to take some action that will push forward the growth of whatever idea or project you began at the New Moon.

This is a day to take action, to move something forward in the development of your future.

With the Moon in dreamy Pisces, you have the creative option of developing your plans through the visioning of the future. Reality may not seem very appealing but your imagination and intuition are strong. A perfect day for developing a vision board or a creative writing project that will support the process of creating your future reality.

Your feeling nature is deep; dream your future into being.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transits between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Contemplation for the week:

“Understanding astrology involves learning a whole new language. The symbolic language of astrology is complex and nuanced. Bringing meaning fourth from the natal chart is much like reading a map of the life of the client.

It takes a vast understanding and awareness of human nature to be able to interpret a chart in a manner that is helpful to the client. As a symbolic language, there are many layers to each symbol, therefore many levels of interpretation.

Each astrologer is challenged to find a way beneath the surface to access the depth, value, and meaning in each chart and each client.” ~ Laurie Farrington

By the end of the week, the Sun enters Sagittarius and we enter the season of joy and optimism. However, we begin the week on a serious note with the Moon in Capricorn. This is a week of shifting energy in our values and direction!

The week begins on a serious note as you can easily focus on the business at hand… at least until mid-afternoon. End the day early as you will have done plenty of work before 4:00 PM EST.

On Tuesday, pay attention to the depth and intensity of your own mental and intellectual processes. Allow yourself to start a new excavation within the depths of your mind.

On Wednesday, we have a big shift in direction as Neptune turns direct at 7° Pisces. Isn’t it time to bring your creativity into the open? There is no going back, embrace your dream as you continue to bring it into the future.

On Thursday, we come to the First Quarter square of the Moon in Aquarius. It is time to take action on what you began a week ago at the New Moon.

Friday offers up several issues of supreme significance. Mercury enters Sagittarius opening our minds into more lightness and exploration. Venus squares Pluto, demanding that we take a major step in releasing something that began in December of 2014.

The upcoming weekend offers an interesting mix. We are very much under the influence of Venus squaring Pluto, which insists that you carefully consider how your changing values will impact the coming year. There may be difficulties you would rather not look at that insistently call to your focus.

At 10:25 AM EST on Sunday, the Sun follows Mercury into Sagittarius. As the Sun leaves the dark intensity of Scorpio behind and enters Sagittarius, we all feel the sense of lightness and excitement as we enter more clarity and curiosity for the upcoming month.

All in all, a great week. Enjoy.

Monday, November 16, 2015:

Last week ended on such a serious note that heading to work on Monday morning may feel like a relief. If you need to be so focused on duty and responsibility, you may as well be at the office (or whatever your workplace is).

This will be a great day to focus on hard work and accomplishment. Keep clear on the reality of your situation; spend some time in solitude to gain clarity.

You may encounter some stress early in the morning as you prepare to leave the house. By the time you get to work, you should feel in control of your level of determination to get things done.

At 3:53 PM EST, the ambitious Capricorn Moon is VOC* until very early Tuesday morning when she will enter Aquarius.

If possible, head home at 3:53 PM EST. If you must continue to work, spend those late afternoon hours on your most mundane chores. Focus on the simple tasks that must get done. Answer emails, file papers, organize a project.

Much can get done but don’t spend your time on the development of future projects. Enjoy Monday!

Without giving up hope—that there’s somewhere better to be, that there’s someone better to be—we will never relax with where we are or who we are.” ~ Pema Chödrön

The Moon enters Aquarius very early on Tuesday morning, bringing a sense of the unusual to the day. No one wants to be seen as ordinary, preferring agitation to boredom.

Because the Sun and Mercury are never very far apart, a conjunction is the only aspect that forms between them (happening today at 9:52 AM EST).

When the planet of the ego connects with the planet of the mind, you can expect a great deal of activity in your mind and your communications. With both the Sun and Mercury in Scorpio, your thoughts will move along the lines of mystery and power dynamics.

This is a great time to share your opinions and beliefs about deeper human issues. Talk about issues that are generally kept more private. Share your deepest compulsions, talk about sexuality, or your beliefs about death or passion. Go deep.

Do not allow your conversations to be light or on the surface. Tell someone your deepest secrets; you will be surprised that nothing changes. Life goes on; we all live with a depth that others do not see; but it is there in each of us.

Accept and share this depth.

“The less you open your heart to others, the more your heart suffers.” ~ Deepak Chopra

Wednesday, November 18, 2015:

Neptune has been retrograde since the middle of June 2015. On Wednesday, Neptune turns direct (11:31 AM EST) bringing some clarity to areas of confusion.

Situations that have created a sense of bewilderment now are able to shift. The best thing about Neptune turning direct is that your creativity is given wings where it has been held back and restrained.

You may find yourself with more imagination, sensitivity, and clarity in your dreams. If you encounter intensification in your dreams, understand that the same intensification exists on in other areas of your world.

Seek inspiration, show compassion, and find wonder in the world around you.

“See the light in others, and treat them as it that is all you see.” ~ Dr. Wayne Dyer

Thursday, November 19, 2015:

Think back to last week’s New Moon (November 11). What did you begin or bring to life in the deep, quiet darkness of the Scorpio New Moon?

Think about how far that idea or project has come. Have you lost focus or questioned the importance of that idea or project? Don’t let go of it. This is the day to refocus, determine what action is needed, and take that action.

At 7:21 AM EST, the Moon leaves Aquarius behind to enter Pisces where she will remain until Saturday morning. While the Moon is in Pisces, the world around us feels a bit softer. We don’t take in the sharp edges.

This evening may bring sensitivity and inspiration; or perhaps you are more apt to find yourself in confusion and escapism. If you tend toward the later, find a way outside of your own self-interest.

Practice compassion toward others; this will move you outside the struggle of confusion.

“We are not creatures of circumstance; we are creators of circumstance.” ~Benjamin Disraeli

Friday, November 20, 2015:

On Friday, Mercury leaves the deep waters of Scorpio behind (where it has been since November 2nd) to enter Sagittarius. Mercury will remain in Sagittarius until December 9th.

During this time, your thoughts and ideas are more easily able to access curiosity, optimism, and courage. You may question assumptions; your own and others. Your thinking may be a bit less precise and a bit sloppy as we reflect this passage of Mercury through Sagittarius!

At 9:01 PM EST, Venus square Pluto; this is the closing square between them. What is the challenge? What powerful issue or circumstance regarding love or money began in December of 2014?

Now, we are asked to begin the process of release in order to accept a new circumstance regarding powerful love, passion, or resources. Commit to avoiding power games and passions that come with a hidden agenda. Keep your integrity high and demand the same in others.

However long the night, the dawn will break.” ~ African Proverb

Saturday, November 21, 2015:

Enjoy a quiet early morning breakfast with loved ones before moving into a day of assertive action.

The Moon enters Aries at 10:13 AM EST and you will be ready to take charge of the day. This will be a day to take care of business and start something new within you.

Spontaneous, enthusiastic impulses will be strong. Do not expect a lot of interest in being polite or demure; you are more apt to be impulsive and even tactless in your interactions with others.

Channel any excessive energy in a physical manner; skiing, skydiving, or even a solitary walk in the woods would be a great use of this day.

Focus on short-term projects as Aries energies tend to burn out quickly. If you notice anger within yourself, you need time alone. Simple as that; schedule it!

Saturday night should be spent dancing or following other passionate expressions of physicality. Enjoy.

“Life’s blows cannot break a person whose spirit is warmed by the fire of enthusiasm.” ~ Norman Vincent Peale

Sunday, November 22, 2015:

With the Moon in Aries, the Sun enters Sagittarius at 10:25 AM EST. What a lovely way to end the weekend; seek curiosity, exploration, adventure, and wonder!

Allow the dark intensity of Scorpio to subside. Let go of deep introspection. Move forward seeking freedom, independence, and wisdom.

Consider the Centaur (the symbol of Sagittarius) coming to a crossroad. There is a sign, an arrow pointing in each direction. The sign pointing in one direction says: ENLIGHTENMENT; the sign pointing in the other direction says: GARY’S PARTY.

Which direction does the Centaur (Sagittarius) take? This can be a true dilemma for anyone with a strongly Sagittarian chart and it is something for all of us to consider at this time of year as the Sun moves through Sagittarius.

This is the choice that you must make. Are you seeking wisdom or fun? Can you find wisdom through the vehicle of fun? What expands your heart, your mind, your understanding of the world, and of the people you share this world with?

Spend the coming month in the mode of the explorer; seek understanding, respect, and freedom.

Come, come, whoever you are. Wanderer, worshiper, lover of leaving. It doesn’t matter. Ours is not a caravan of despair. Come, even if you have broken your vows a thousand times. Come, yet again, come, come.” ~ Rumi
